EAR permissions after deploy

On my development environment I need to allow other developers to ftp files into the applications directory. The problem is after deploying
with a ear file the permissions are only write for the Oracle user. The other developers are using FTP and there own
unix account user logins.
I need a way to change the default permissions for the files in the ear file.
Setting the UMASK will not work because that would cause a security risk for the ORACLE user.
Please respond if you have any ideas.

Sorry, I am not being clear enough. I want to deploy via a EAR file but I want other developers to be able to ftp individual files to the applications directory.
I need to be able to use UltraDev to do design layout since JDeveloper doesn't do that. In order to view the results and make it easier on the developers I would like the ablility to ftp files directory to my development environment. I like Jdeveloper to write code so I want to use its deployment method.
If I can find a way to change the default permissions used in unpacking the ear file this would work.
I am using Windows as a development platform and my development application server is on Solaris.

  • SJSWS 7.0U1 - Resets Permissions on Deploy Changes

    I have several web server configurations (single instance of each config, no additional virtual servers), and since each config belongs to a different client/user:group, the permissons on the config directory are set to reflect these ownerships, mostly user-only-accessible.
    For admin purposes, I like to modify (loosen) these permissions to make them group-accessible (to the admin group). Whether or not this is a particularly good idea could be a discussion for another day :-)
    My problem is that each time I make changes to a configuration, the act of deploying the changes to the web server instance (using the GUI/Admin Console) resets the ownerships & permissions in the config directory to be user-accessible to the client user:group, i.e. as it was at creation.
    This means I then have to change ownership/permissions to get back to (my idea of) a correct configuration.
    Is there any way to either:
    1. Prevent SJSWS from doing this in the first place, or
    2. Trigger my script to reset permissions after deployment
    I'm probably onto a loser here, but I figured I ask in case anyone else has tripped over this and discovered a solution!
    Thanks for any input.

  • Intermittent 404 error after deploying EAR file

    I deployed my web application to an EAR file and deployed it to OAS 10.1.3 on linux. I deployed it to a separate OC4J container that I created (not home container). During the deployment, I specified an application name and context as usual and did not make any modifications to the deployment. After I deployed (and waited enough time for the application to be uncompressed), I get a 404 error when I access my application. I will then refresh my browser and then my application is accessible. This happens all the time. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance and please let me know if I need to provide any more detail.

    We have one OAS instance with 3 containers. We're using OHS too. OHS is in the same OAS instance and no changes were done to mod_oc4j.conf file.

  • Page naviagation doesn't work after deploy ADF application to Weblogic

    After deploy my ADF application (ear) to Weblogic Server, the page navigation doesn't work. When running the ear on weblogic, I got following warnings:

    I can run the application correctly in jdeveloper 11g environment. I think there is something wrong with deployment. Can anyone help me?

    When you target url with .jspx, you are running the page itself, not in the task flow context, so navigation doesn't work.
    In the task flow, your page has 'Activity ID' (which is, for example, 'mainPage' for mainPage.jspx) and the navigation is defined for activity IDs, not pages.

  • Ejb-ref-mapping in orion-ejb.jar missing location attribute after deployment

    I have noticed that on several of my entity beans that after deployment the <ebj-ref-mapping location="JNDIName" name="LocalName"/> is missing the location attribute. This causes any attempts to lookup the EJBHome for that EJB to fail because the path to the EJBHome in JNDI cannot be found (obviously!). The problem is that this causes me to manually edit the application-deployment/<app>/<ejb.jar>/orion-ejb.zml after each deployment via the admin.jar. This seems like a bug with OC4J and I am wondering if Oracle is aware/doing something to fix this?
    I have noticed that the same problem exists for session beans, however, for some strange reason the EJBHomes can still be resolved in JNDI. In all cases the location in JNDI is different then the <ejb-ref-name> I used in the client EJB.
    Example being I have an entity bean at com.foo.Foo and the session bean uses lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/Foo") it is still able to find the EJB even though the orion-ejb.xml looses the location attribute. If the case is an entity bean referencing another entity bean in the same fashion I get an error because the location attribute is missing.

    If the 'location' value is same as the 'name' value, then even though the location attribute is missing, it is ok and should work. If they are not the same, then you should have defined the ejb-link element in your ejb-jar.xml when defining this ejb-ref and that would make the location attribute appear in the generated orion-ejb-jar.xml.
    If the referenced bean is from a different application (EAR), then you should have used the -parent option when deploying the application.

  • WS not created in application server control after deployment

    Hi,
    I just tried to deploy fulfillmentESB project(SOADemo Projects) from Jdev to Oracle App server control. But there was no webservice created in Oracle application server control under webservices link....plz help me...
    Actually the steps which i had followed to deploy that fulfillment project are:
    * right-click fulfillmentESB
    * select Register with ESB, Integration connection
    after which the fulfillment webservice can be seen in ESB control as well as application server control. But i could not able to see webservice created in application server control.
    Also i tried deploying the fulfillmentESB using EAR file - no use
    So kindly give me some steps to solve this issue...
    -Indhu

    Here is an example of the two steps required to deploy a Web Service application, using the ant task for the 10.1.3.x release.
    <project name="CalculatePrice" default="all" basedir="." xmlns:o="antlib:oracle">
      <property file="build.properties"/>
      <property name="deployeruri"        value="deployer:oc4j:${oc4j.host}:${oc4j.admin.port}"/>
    <!--
      <property name="deployeruri" value="deployer:oc4j:opmn://${oc4j.host}:${oc4j.opmn.port}/home" />
    -->
      <property name="bindweb.website" value="default-web-site"/>
      <property name="app.name" value="sdots"/>
      <target name="deploy">

                      webmodule="webservice-web" websitename="${bindweb.website}"

      </target>Not sure if this applies to your specific scenario.
    ps. cross posting on the different OTN forums is generally not a good idea as you get threads out of sync. In this specific case, you are running into an issue with a specific ESB demo, and the ESB-SOA forum is definitly a better palce to get specific help.

    ps2. I guess you should got it by now, as I am not the first one to make this comment.

    ps3. We still don't have details about the versions you are using and the specific about THE SOADemo Projects - provide the information someone else would need in the forum that best correspond to your issue; the SOA one in this case ;-)

  • EAR/WAR File Deployment Query on WEBLOGIC SERVER

    Hi,
    We are running weblogic server version 10.3.4.0 where EAR/ WAR files deployed on single server and that has been configured in the current WebLogic Server domain. These applications are up and running fine. We need to deploy a new WAR file on the same domain. My questions are:
    @ Whether I can deploy new WAR file without STARTing and STOPing weblogic server instance?
    @ When deploying new WAR file, whether it will affect existing deployed files or will it affect any other running services for a fraction of second?
    Note: This new WAR file is independent application and will not affect any other services in the future.
    Please assist.
    Thanks,
    Dheeraj

    Thank you for your help but the result is still the same.
    I deployed the library on weblogic server suggested by you.
    File Deployed as library = oracle.adf.desktopintegration.model.ear
    From the folder = C:\Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\modules\oracle.adf.desktopintegration.model_11.1.1
    It is active.
    After this I loaded jdeveloper and deploy the same sample application and found that the result is same.
    Pls let me know where I am going wrong.

  • Admin error after deploying to Oracle 10g

    I'm trying to deploy Coldfusion 7.02 to Oracle 10g
    Application Server. I successfully installed CF as an ear file and
    deployed it to my OC4J instance. However, when I try to run the
    Administrator, after logging in, I get this error message:
    java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
    at com.verity.administration.VAdmin.<init>(Unknown
    Source)
    at
    com.verity.api.administration.VAdministration.<init>(Unknown

    Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: Encryption algorithm
    not found
    at com.verity.security.k2.K2Encrypt.<clinit>(Unknown
    Source)
    ... 54 more
    Any idea what this has to do with? One thing I have been told
    is that this may have to do with ColdFusion needing to be run on
    its own OC4J instance. I am still working on figuring out how to do
    that setup.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Why I cannot connect to database after deploying application to OAS?

    Hello experts...i have a new problem and here are the facts:
    I`m using on Windows Xp:
    Oracle Database 10.2.0
    Oracle Application Server 10.1.3
    Oracle Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3
    I`m creating a new application using jdeveloper and i`m using 2 connection classes:
    a) First connection class using:
    InitialContext ctx=new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds=ctx.lookup("jdbc/connDS");
    Connection conn=ds.getConnection();
    b) Second connection class using:
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:and the entire link goes here");
    So far so good, but when I create a ear file using the First connection class and after i deploy it to OAS my application will not connect anymore to database!
    If I will use the Second connection class, and create an ear file then deploy it to OAS, my application works fine, it connects to database but i have a problem. In my application users can upload and download the files they uploaded. The files are saved in DB as blob. The problem appears when users are downloading the files because for example file "example.doc" is uploaded on the server database and when a user try to download it the name of the file is like "example_doc" and my pc open it like an html in which is a server 500 error. Someone told me that happens because of my connection class... and I want to find out you`re opinion.
    Why i cann`t connect to DB after deploy the application on OAS using the FIRST connection class?
    - on Jdeveloper i can connect to DB using both of the connect classes (one at a time)
    - I`m creating a war file from jdeveloper and deploy the ear file on the OAS
    - on OAS i`ve created the connection pool and the data source and "The connection was establish succesfully"
    Why the uploaded files are downloaded in this way? it`s the connection the problem?
    - I want to tell you that when i`m extracting data from the DB table i`m not using a temp file, the conversion is made in the java class and the program throws me the file to download.
    - as i told you in Jdeveloper both of the connection classes work!!! and when i`m using the FIRST connection class and try to download, the files ARE DOWNLOADED PERFECTLY CORRECT!
    - if i`m using the SECOND connection class in jdeveloper, running the application on the built in oc4j instance and trying to download the same files, the files are DOWNLOADED BAD like I told you: the name of the file is like "example_doc" and my pc open it like an html in which is a server 500 error. with the pdf format is the same problem but my pc cannot open it telling something with "bad conversion...." error.
    There are someone who had the same problem?
    Theoretically i had to make the application to connect to the database after deploy it to OAS with the FIRST connection class and this way my files will be downloaded corectly... what to do?

    no one knows nothing about this issue? :(... i`m dissapointed...

  • BUG after deploying/running ADF on 10.1.3(Linux) gives JBO-25002  error

    We have found out that there could be a bug in the Linux version of Application Server 10.1.3.0.0 or the Windows version of Jdeveloper.
    We are using:
    * Application Server 10.1.3.0.0 (Integrated Web Server, J2EE Server and Proces Management) on both a Windows XP machine and a Linux (Red Hat) machine.
    * Jdeveloper Version 10.1.3.1.0.3984 (Build JDEVADF_10.1.3.1.0_NT_061009.1404.3984)
    We are developing an ADF application using business/ADF components with several jspx pages in the latest version of JDeveloper.
    * Testing it on the embedded server of JDeveloper everything works perfectly fine. We can click through all the screens without getting errors;
    * After deploying the ADF application to the home instance on the Windows version of 10.1.3 Appplication server everything still works as expected.

    We have tried many things:
    * Checking the databindings in the model layer of the ADF application
    * Checking and testing the datasources on the Linux Application Server
    * Using Jdeveloper 10.1.3 and later 10.1.3.1
    * Deploy remotely from Jdeveloper
    * Deploy the EAR file from the EM consol
    * Adding extra ADF/BC4J libraries with the Linux deployment
    * Creating another OC4J instance, deploying the BC4J components and redeploying the ADF application
    * Reinstalling the Application Server software on Linux (clean install)
    Does anyone have a clue why it works on only on Windows and not on Linux?
    We have not tried yet :
    * To deploy another ADF business components application on the Linux application Server (when I have done this I'll get back to you)
    * Compare the versions of the ADF components used on the application server with the versions of the ADF components in the Jdeveloper installation (could there be a difference? Is there a newer version of Application Server 10.1.3 available?).
    Cheers,
    Thomas

    Thank you guys. We have found the solution for the deployment problem on Linux. Oracle technical support has pointed us into the right direction.
    During the development process two databindings (XML files) were renamed in the model layer (\Model\classes\model\dataaccess\). Like for example we had a data binding called DTBinding.xml that was renamed to DtBinding.xml. The changes were applied in the source code of the project. After depoyment to the application server it seems that the old databinding file was still there (DTBinding.xml). This was the cause of the JBO-25002 error on Linux. After renaming DTBinding.xml to correct file name DtBinding.xml (in the folder /opt/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/OC4J_TMFB/applications/APPNAME/APPNAME/WEB-INF/classes/model/dataaccess) and restarting the OC4J instance on the application server the application was finally working on Linux.
    A few things to keep in mind when you are developing on Windows and deploying to Linux:
    * The Windows OS is not looking at uppercase characters in XML file names. As long as the file name of the XML is correct it will be found.
    * It seems that changes in the databinding filenames in the JDeveloper (10.1.3.1) source code are not correctly submitted after building and deploying the project. So be carefull with changing names.
    Cheers,
    Thomas

  • JDev10G:  Error after deploy to 9i OC4J

    I am deploying a 10G application to a 9i server. I was told that if I made sure that the needed Oracle libraries were packaged in the ear file that this should work.
    After deploy I attempt to run the application and get the following error. What is causing this error?

    Hi There,
    Did you ever get a response to your question regarding deploying a 10g application to a 9i server? I'm getting a similar error to you regarding "no jmisc in java.library.path". I'm thinking I may need to upgrade the JDK on the 9iAS to version 1.4.2 but I'm unclear as to how I do this.
    If you have any info it would help me a great deal.
    Many thanks.
