Please help me out.
Hi,
The problem has been resolved. It was due to configuration error in the host file. rapidwiz was looking for hostname (IPPDDVP) and it was commented out in the host
file. we had to comment out the old configuration and use the old configuration. it looked like this at first:
#192.168.100.82 ippddvp.cagdhq.gov.gh ippddvp
192.168.100.82 pvapps.provision.com pvapps
and was changed to
192.168.100.82 ippddvp.cagdhq.gov.gh ippddvp
#192.168.100.82 pvapps.provision.com pvapps
Thank you all for the support.
Very much appreciated

Installation halts - probably because of sapdb.inf
Hello fellow SAP admins
I'm trying to install SAP solution manager/netweaver 7.0 on a Sun Sparc T2000 with Solaris 10. The installation works fine until I get to phase 13 of 47: "Create database schema". I don't get an error message, but the installation halts and I can read the following from the promt:
"File sapdb.inf does exist. Will use the commands in file sapdb.inf."
Everything seems to work and I cannot locate logfiles that tell me otherwise.
XCMDOUT.log ends with the following:
> Subprocess starts at 20080513084428
Execute Command : /sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -n SunT2000 -d BDS -u control,********
Start subprocess as user with uid: root
Execute Session Command : sql_connect superdba,********
Execute Session Command : sql_execute SELECT VALUE FROM DBPARAMETERS WHERE DESCRIPTION='_UNICODE'
Execute Session Command : exit
> Subprocess stops at 20080513084430
OK
OK
END
'YES'
Any ideas?
NB: You can find a similiar unsolved post by David Ingersoll from Mar 31, 2008 3:30 PM by searching the term "sapdb.inf".

CS6 Installer halts when installing Adobe Help
CS6 Creative Suite Design & Web Premium Trial downloads, extracts, but the installer halts when it hits "Currently Installing Adobe Help", and the install time keeps increasing indefinitely. I have tried over and over, re-downloading, using the direct download links, running the creative suite cleaner, the Adobe Support tool, restarting my computer, etc. etc. etc. It does this same thing when I have tried to install Dreamweaver CS6 on its own, but I was able to download & install Lightroom 4 with no problems whatsoever. What can I do at this point?
I too am having this problem, and killing InstallAdobeHelp.exe DOES seem to allow the installer to continue. Thank you for that tip, Dan!

A couple notes:
I am installing CS6 Master Collection trial.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64
I had CS4 & CS5 Master Collection installed (non-trial)
I tried removing both, with no luck.
I updated Download Manager and Adobe Air just previous to installing.
I have tried restarting, installing with and without internet access/activation (shouldn't really matter) - Attempted installation about 6 times.
Running InstallAdobeHelp from command line using the same call the installer does (InstallAdobeHelp.exe CommandLine: appVersion=4.0.244 appId=chc pubId=4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1 installerArg1=-silent installerArg2=-eulaAccepted installerArg3=-programMenu installerArg4=AdobeHelp.air) Gives the same result - an empty window appears and never goes away.
Canceling the installer doesn't kill InstallAdobeHelp.exe, it will keep running in the background until killed - even if the installer is forcefully stopped, and will even run 4 or 5 InstallAdobeHelp.exe processes at the same time, if you keep trying to install.
Big idea: I saw something in the log about already having AdobeHelp 1.0.0.0 installed (Probably from CS4/5?) I'm guessing this is causing the conflict:

Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 Installation Steps
Although this is by no means exhaustive or the most accurate, all contributions and/or corrections are welcome
As I attempt to reply the numerous calls and emails I have been getting, firstly sorry guys, I have been settling down at a new job, and haven’t had time to locate my implementation notes, however find below the steps I followed with a successful result.
Installing Oracle E-Business (EBS) Release 11i (version 11.5.10.2)
Linux Installation – SLES 9 Rel 1
• Please follow these instructions – I could not have written a better set of instructions :
http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/16009.html
NOTE: Although this is written for SLES 9.1, I believe this will work for any Linux variant.
Also, make sure you have installed openmotif 2.0 or higher to make sure the forms server starts and remains running
Windows 2003 Server SP 1
Environment:
Windows 2003 Server was installed as an environment on VMWare Server (The free one).
Hardware Spec:
P4 800 Mhz CPU
2GB (Physical RAM) and 1GB (Virtual RAM)
250 GB (Physical HDD), 120GB (Virtual HDD)
DVD RW
DECLARE
At this point I have to say a few things:
1. I have not attempted installing on any other version of Windows, so if you try with another version, I may not be able to answer your questions, although I believe it should not be any different.
2. I would believe you can or have access to the internet and can download or find most of the resources needed.
3. I would assume you have installed the Windows 2003 Server with SP 1, Internet Explorer and Outlook. Also, have included an IP address, a server name with its domain extensions in the host file.
4. I would assume that you have created one group – dba , two users applmgr and oracle and included them in the dba and administrator groups
5. I would assume that you are at least familiar with the terms and usage of abbreviations in this sort of environments.
6. I would also assume you have reviewed and have made allowance to meet the required specification in terms of hardware (I did not attempt an installation on the USB HDD, so may not be able to help, if this applies to your situation)
BEGIN
Prepare Environment
Download and have read the following software:
1. Java Development Kit 1.3 (or higher version)
http://java.sun.com/downloads/index.html
2. Active Perl – This is needed for the staging script adautostg.pl http://www.activestate.com/store/productdetail.aspx?prdGuid=81fbce82-6bd5-49bc-a915-08d58c2648ca
3. Visual C++ - This is needed for many of the real-time code compilation
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/download/
4. CYGWIN
http://www.cywin.com/setup.exe (Free open source, never expires!)
OR
MKS Toolkit (Evaluation copy, 30 Trial or get a licence for about $500)
http://www.mkssoftware.com/eval/
This is necessary for certain unix-only available utilities required to implement/compile Oracle E-business Suite, such as which, make, cc, etc.
5. The DVDs or downloaded zipped copy of the entire Oracle E-Business Suite software for Windows 32-Bit ( I did not attempt on a 64-Bit processor, though I believe it should not be different, but see the necessary documentation if that is your situation)
http://edelivery.oracle.com
6. Jinitiator – This is required to run the forms on your system (Although a first attempt to view any of the form interfaces downloads and requests this be installed first) http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/htdocs/devlic.html?url=http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/developer/htdocs/jinit.htm
NOTE:
• DO NOT Install into the default directories and do not allow spaces in file directories/path when installing the software, somehow experience has shown that the Oracle EBS does not handle spaces in file directories well, and results in untold hardship if ignored. E.g Default installation folder for an software installation may suggest C:\Program Files\ JDK 1.5, MAKE SURE you alter this to something like C:\JDK15. DO THIS FOR ALL SOFTWARE INSTALLED
• After each software installation, please reboot the system before installing the next piece.
• Make sure that all the paths to the bin folders for all software installed is included in the environment variables, and verify by typing path in the command prompt to display all paths listed
• If using CYGWIN (like I did, as I could not afford a software expiring on me nor could afford $500 for a test). You may choose all the modules available, but you do not need all (it will be an overkill to have the entire unix utilities and libraries on your windows box, unless you plan on learning unix commands or into heavy development requiring a unix environment, without wanting a unix machine) MAKE SURE you choose all the library options, all the development options and that should be OK. Then confirm after the installation by typing which, cc (or gcc), make(gnumake), ls, gawk(awk), grep (egrep) (IMPORTANT:Where one of the other in brackets exists, copy and rename the copy as the alternative). As a double sure – copy all of these into C:\Bin directory.
• If the Oracle EBS is downloaded, unzip all the files into the folder and ignore any suggestions that it will over-write other files such as the component.label files
Installation Proper
• Run adautostg.pl – which you will find in the StartCD i.e the first file downloaded and unzipped. This will attempt to rearrange the installation files in the order in which the installation wizard – rapidwiz prefers and identifies the folders. (Saves you hand-holding the wizard by having to interact during the installation, pointing it to the relevant folders/files if not run) to create the staging area.
• Run Rapidwiz – either by double clicking the rapidwiz.cmd in the startcd folder (this would be the one in the staging area) or from the command prompt
• As required, point rapidwiz, to the bin folder of cygwin e.g C:\cygwin\bin (if this is as installed) in the place where it requires the MKS Toolkit
• Pre-installation Checks – rapidwiz intelligently tests all the necessary software and requirements before installation starts. A corresponding message to each parameter suggests the opinion of the rapidwiz whilst a green tick indicates the parameter is sufficient, other indicators may need reviewing. Please make sure you resolve each issue before progressing with the installation. This may lead to a waste of time if not resolved.
• Choose a single-node installation
(if just testing or practicing, you may also choose a multi-node if this is what you want.)
• If all the modules are not needed (I installed all), you may have to choose which modules you require, and state where you want the modules installed.
• Assuming all parameters are passed and installation begins, the different stages of the installation steps can be followed by the on-screen messages or log file reviews (each logfile directory will be displayed on the screen during the installation of each context).
• Post Installation Checks – Rapidwiz does some checks after an installation, whether successful or not, and provides a report. When an installation is successful. It confirms and provides the url to login. The default username and password for the system administrator is usually sysadmin / sysadmin. You are encouraged to create another user immediately.
For all who asked, depending on how far up your hardware scales in terms of specifications, the installation may take about 3 hours (at least mine did) or more.
Login on to Oracle EBS !
The URL required for logging on to the OAM (Oracle Application Management - For the Apps DBAs) and OEBS (Oracle E-Business Suite - essentially for the Functional Implemeters/Consultants ) - The entire gamut (They are shown as hyperlinks), should be as follows;
http://hostname(servername.domainname.com):8000/
where hostname is the same as specified in your host file e.g servername.domainname.com or .whatever-u-like
and
8000 - is the default port, but you may have chosen your own port and that should be used in such a case.
N.B - The Forms server is often started when an attempt is made to access such an interface after login in to the OEBS. However, in my own case, it did not until I made sure openmotif 2.1 was installed on my SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.1. The windows installation started without any issues.
If all attempts fails….
You may have to try and try again by deleting all installation files and starting all the installation steps again. It will help if you know how to edit your registry settings to delete all reference to oracle e-business (not all reference to oracle though, as some odbc-related entries have been installed by Microsoft and require your registry settings to function)
Alternatively, send me your box, your mailing address and a token (money of course, and I may be able to set it all up for you) – JOKING!
CAVEAT: I will not be held responsible if anything unsavoury happens to your system in the course of you following the steps I have highlighted above either correctly or incorrectly. However, if you are successful, please sing my praises all over the forum and ask that I be rewarded by Oracle!

thanx for your quick response and i want to give you more explanation about my environment :
4 apps node win 2003 sp2 32bit
2 db node as RAC 64bit win 2003
so what's the guidelines to install EBS 12.1.1 on 4 apps node and 2 db nodes as a RAC
RegardsHi,
You need to follow the same procedure except that you need to convert the database from single instance to RAC (since Rapid Install does not install a RAC database).
For converting the database to RAC, please refer to (Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 High Availability Documentation Roadmap [ID 1072636.1]).
Note: Please update the same thread instead of creating new one if your other questions are relevant to the main topic -- Multi Node Installation for EBS 12.1.1

EBS 11.5.10.2 installation Fails - create controlfile
Hello All
I am trying to install EBS 11.5.10.2 (test system) on Oracle Linux 5.8 (Apps tier 32-bit, database tier 64-bit). During the database creation phase I am getting this error: RW-50004 (Creating controlfile), so I checked log files and its says
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
I tried to login to instance on database tier after sourcing env file but I got the same error. But if I create password file and then login sys/password as sysdba, it logs me in to an idle instance.
But I need rapidwiz to pass this step. So please suggest what should I do?.

AmitHi Amit,
Hello All
I am trying to install EBS 11.5.10.2 (test system) on Oracle Linux 5.8 (Apps tier 32-bit, database tier 64-bit). During the database creation phase I am getting this error: RW-50004 (Creating controlfile), so I checked log files and its says

I tried to login to instance on database tier after sourcing env file but I got the same error. But if I create password file and then login sys/password as sysdba, it logs me in to an idle instance.
But I need rapidwiz to pass this step. So please suggest what should I do?.
Regards
AmitFirst of all, please note that Oracle 9i (which comes with 11.5.10.2) is not certified on OEL 5
Have you added the OS user who owns the database tier files to the dba group?
OERR: ORA 1031 "insufficient privileges" [ID 18622.1]
Troubleshooting ORA-1031: Insufficient Privileges While Connecting As SYSDBA [ID 730067.1]
At what stage/step you get this error?

XP64bit installation halts, K8N Neo4 Platinum - No SATA drives found?
My setup:
Athlon 64 3500+
K8N Neo4 Platinum
2GB OCZ 3200 Premier
2) WD Sata 80GB HD's (for RAID 0)
Nvidia 6800GT Extreme VGA
I was recently lucky enough to get my hands on a real Windows XP Pro64bit Extended Edition. I gathered quite a few 64bit drivers which claim to do the job (so they say.)
However I ran into a very strange issue during installation.
My main concern was getting RAID drivers to utilize after pressing F6 during the Windows install. Unfortunately I could not find Nvidia drivers so I went with the Silicon Image Sil3114 64bit drivers I got from their website. Copied them to a disk and thought I was ready to rock N roll. I have updated all BIOS to latest versions as of the date of this post.
Now I went into the RAID BIOS and setup my RAID 0 Array and both SATA drives are shown. All went well in this dept.
I began my installtion of XP64 and pressed F6 to install the RAID drivers. Popped the floppy in and the driver files were copied successfully.
I continued on to the point where you are prompted to setup Windows XP and it searches for any previous installs.
I continue to where I should get the dislmaimer and to press F8, however the install halts and say no hard drives were found. Setup cannot continue.
Any ideas as to why my drives are not being detected during installation? They show up fine under the RAID setup BIOS.
Any info or thoughts is truly appreciated. You need to make your own floppy for the nvidia 64 ide drivers.
How to install Windows on SATA using F6 to load Drivers
Follow item 1 Obviously usinfg the Neo4 64bit unified driver pack Windows XP Professional x64 Edition

Hi,
I'm trying to install InDesign 4 as trialware on XP Pro.
First, why isn't there a number to call get get some help?
Second, the installation proceeds to the same point every time and fails. It halts at about the time it is unpacking "Roman fonts" which at about 25%.
A KB article talked about a "ProgramData" folder that has too much data but XP doesn't have that.
Third, the installer itself suggested turning off the firewall and antivirus. Even though that's a confession of really low quality software I tried that and it didn't work.
Can anybody provide advice on
1) how to proceed
and
2) how to respect Adobe again after foisting such trashware on the public?
Thanks.This is the error message:
Adobe InDesign CS4 Application Feature Set Files (Roman)

Repair installation halts at "Preparing Target Volume"
I have a client's G3 tower that was running Jaguar that stopped booting. It would boot to the Apple screen and the little "progress wheel" at the bottom would just keep going and going for hours.
She did not have her original software so she bought a copy of Panther off Ebay.
Upon booting from the Panther CD, I ran the disk utility and fixed all problems. When I try to to the upgrade install, it detects 10.2 on the drive. The entire process seems to halt at the "Preparing Target Volume" spot. The machine is not frozen, per se...every once in a while there might be hard drive movement, but it has been stuck at this spot for as long as 12 hours at a time.
I have:
changed the IDE cable
changed the RAM
placed the hard drive in an almost identical G3 tower
None of what I have done so far has solved anything. Any and all help is appreciated in advance. If the Panther installer you have is on gray labeled CDs, then it is an OEM version intended for a specific Mac model. It will not work on that computer. You need the standard retail version of Panther which consists of three CDs with black labels and a large gray "X" plus a fourth CD containing the installer for XTools.
It sounds, also, as if the hard drive needs to be reformatted. -
Adobe Installer halted on initializing installer
We're part of a large government network, with external IT support. I'm on a corporate machine with administration rights, and of course I've been able to install CS6 using the media, but the Creative Cloud set-up is halted at initializing Installer and proceeds no further.
Does anyone know what internet ports/traffic the installer uses, so I can pass this onto our IT support for them to allow access for the installer. Installing things like Photoshop CC will be a common occurrence.I think this link should provide all the relevant information.

Dear gurus
I'm trying to install Fusion Middleware version 11.1.2.1.0 but its application configuration process hangs down and doesn't complete. Before installing this software I've installed : Oracle Weblogic Server 10.3.5 without node service.
Oracle JRockit 4.1 with JDK 28.2.5.
My O.S version is: Windows-7 Professional 32-bit on Dell Inspiron N-5110 core i3 64-bit Laptop.
Here is the summary of how I've been trying to install this software.
During weblogic installation, I don't use bundeled SDK but use separately installed JRockit JDK as mentioned above.
After completion of weblogic installation, firstly I create a base_domain through quick start of Weblogic. I dont try to run any of weblogic services by myself.
Then I start the setup of Developer 11g.
All the things are installed in the same directory i.e C:\Oracle\Middleware. But weblogic is installed in C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver... whereas Fusion Middleware in C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHom.
I'm using no Proxy, no custom Port, working on my standalone Laptop.
However I've installed a Microsoft Loopback Adopter.
Now, Could you guess please that why this problem is occuring???
Please have a look at some of the bottom portion of my install log file:

at oracle.as.install.engine.modules.configuration.ConfigurationModule$1.run(ConfigurationModule.java:137)Dear Craig...Yes, u r absolutely right, I don't know what an Antlantis were the Oraclions developing, may be still they wished developers to still hang on 10g and dont move to 11g. Anyways, it has gone me almost one month playing around 11g FMW installation but useless and only waist of time :(.
Now according to yours suggestion, I logged in as Administrator, removed all the JRockits, WLS and FMW from my P.C. I also deleted registry entries and cleared temporary files. I turned off the windows firewall.
Then I installed JDK 1.6.0_43.
Afterwards installed WLS 10.3.6 with default SDK (which I think is 1.6.0.29) and unch ecked JRockit.
Finally installed Fusion Middleware(with install and configure, configure for development options) in the same directory where WLS was installed but INVAIN. Installation stopped at configuration step.
I checked the inventory folder. There was an error file with the following contents:

Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate.
Acrobat 9 Pro is intalled and working.
I'm trying to install a trial version of Acrobat X Pro, but the installation stops early on with the error seen below in this screenshot. Any ideas?Acrobat 8 needs IE 6.0 not 4.0
1) Try installing using MSI file instead of setup.exe.
2) Enable MSI logging and provide the MSI log. Steps to enable MSI logging can be found here http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/223300
3) What is the version of shdocvw.dll in "C:\Windows\System32" folder and in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" (exists only on a 64 bit machine) folder.
