• Is it possible to create a Visual Studio plugin that can copy TFS work item ID by adding a context menu in the work item UI?

Our team is using VS2013 and TFS 2013, and in our daily work we often open a TFS query, then we need to open a work item, and we often need to copy the ID, for example, to the email.
But currently the field is read only, and we often manually copy it.
So is there any convenient way to solve this? Any built in ways?
If no, is it possible to create such a plugin?

from Motorolasolutions

Hi Lei Yang
You can try the following work around to copy work item ID
for VS 2013:
Right click on work item tab header in VS 2013 and click 'Copy Full Path' from context menu
When you paste it on notepad/email you will get work item ID at the end of the path:
http://sumiran-dev:8080/tfs/web/wi.aspx?pcguid=d855bc22-69a8-45a5-b6fc-25f096ade8f5&id=46
For Web Portal:
Right click on work item link at top and click 'Copy shortcut' from the context menu
When you paste it on notepad/email you will get work item ID at the end of the shortcut:
http://sumiran-dev:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection/TFS%20Scrum%20Demo/_workitems/edit/46

How can I eliminate the right click context menu "OPEN WITH ADOBE READER 8" in Windows XP?
I have general familiarity with removing context menus. I see no option for this one in msconfig, or various context menu editors. I am unable to find a setting in Adobe Reader 8. If you know where the setting is, or have solved this problem, please let me know.

That would be the device Metadata from the print driver vendor. It's part of the Device Stage feature mainly for client OS.
Here is some MSDN documentation on the feature.

If this is a print server, use the tools include by the print team if you are performing any management on the server.

• Firefox doesn't let me copy the web address from the address bar using the context menu with second button in mouse or trackpad

Hello!
I write to report a problem I have with the new update v35 and v35.0.1 Firefox on address bar
With the new version 35 of Firefox on Mac OSX Yosemite, clicking directly with the right mouse button in the address bar to copy the web address, context menu NOT allowed to copy the link, it shaded in gray, inactive ... you have to click on another browser free zone before returning to click a second time and be able to copy the link from the context menu
I mean, with the first right click in the address bar context menu that appears don't allow me to copy the link directly, you have to click on another area and then clicking again with the right mouse button in the address bar to copy the web address (happens to all pages)
I tried to open Firefox with inactive complements and plugins, and reset Firefox to first time use (like the first install) and the problem is here again... With or without complements and plugins the problem is here
This happens before and then when I format my computer
Here I put a screenshot that explains the problem better than my words
http://i.imgur.com/QxKd8P1.gif
I hope you can help me

Hello
The icons in the screenshot is from Linux OS, because I don't know how to capture screen, and somebody in Linux OS made it to show the problem that I was talking about
I don't have any icon addons only have 2 plugins, quicktime (integrated in OS) and adobe Flash, updated both
Before I format my Mac, I upgraded Firefox to v35 and here came this error
Then I format my Mac after days, by subjects of hard disk space, etc... when I install Firefox 35 (new install) the problem was here again
I tried to Open Firefox with disabled Add-ons, and Reset Firefox to an install version, but the problem is here always

• 2.1.1 Problem with User Defined Reports with actions on the context menu

I use the User Defined Reports quite a lot, and export and publish these to other members of the team as Shared Reports. I'm also quite disappointed that there seems to be no further development in this area of SQL Developer.
One of the totally undocumented features of User Defined Reports is the ability to attach actions to a context menu, and pass data from the grid to a procedure, for example. Copying, then exporting the sessions report (from All Reports -> Data Dictionary Reports -> Database Administration -> Sessions) exposes the XML for adding actions to the context menu. The snippet for killing a session looks like this:

Kill Session

<prompt type="confirm" >
Kill Session?
<default></default>
<value></value>
</prompt>
<sql>ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION '#SID#, #SERIAL#' IMMEDIATE</sql>
<help>Kill the selected session.</help>

So to add this type of functionality to your own user defined reports, you need to export the report, edit the XML, and import it again. It seems to work fine to add this to the master reports, but if you add an
element to the child reports, the context menu items appear on the master report too, and they are duplicated many times. I'm not sure if the action of exporting the report adds to the number of times the context menu appears.
Warning - if you edit a report using SQL Developer, all the
tags are removed. Once you've added actions to a context menu, you can only edit the report by exporting it, modifying the XML and importing it again.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Have you found a work-around?
To the SQL Developer team: Are there any plans to allow the adding of user defined context menu items to reports using the GUI in the near future?

You're right the context menu needs a GUI desperately. You can request this at the SQL Developer Exchange, so other users can vote and add weight for possible future implementation.

K.

• Convert SVG to FXML (no context menu entry)

Hello,
I have the following problem:
I want to convert some simple SVG Files to FXML. I've read that there should be an entry to convert it to FXML in the context menu in eclipse, if have .svg files in your project folder. But unfortunately this entry does not show up in my eclipse IDE.
I'm using eclipse 4.4.0 (downloaded the all in one e(fx)clipse distribution).
And additionally: Is there a way, I could convert the SVGs externally?
I've located the org.eclipse.fx.formats.svg_1.2.0.201501310702.jar file under the plugins folder, but I don't know If or how I could use it to convert a SVG file.
Would be really great, if someone could help me.

• How to retrieve DB package from JDev custom context menu

Hi everyboby,
I have a question, sorry in advance if it sounds dumb .
In my JDev project I declaratively added a context menu to a database package (<folder type="PACKAGE">...) . It's to say when log in to a DB and you click on a package you can see the defined custom menu.
Here is the structure of my custom menu added in the package context menu:
-MyMenu
-MySubMenu
Programmaticaly, I managed to open a JFrame by affecting MySubMenu a java class file (

MySubMenu

for instance) which is in charge of creating the JFrame. Now if I click on MySubMenu a window opens.
This window simply contains a button "commit package - svn".
There comes my struggle. The opened window would let me press the button and commit the content of the package but I can't find how to retrieve the name or even the content of the previously clicked package.
I tried to add a listener to the button and searched for the parent but I miserably failed to access the package.
Do you have any idea on how I can perform this?
Thank you.

Hi',
I think you are trying to do this "select empName from emp where empID=$empid" and the $empid should dynamically come.

• [Polish] Typo in contact lists context menu

Hi there,
I've recently found a bad looking typo in context menu, when you're in a main list view. To reproduce:
1. Go to main view.
2. Select multiple contacts at once (using the CTRL key).
3. Press right mouse button.
4. Check a translation string under "Wyślij kontkaty do wybranych osób".
We've got: "kontkaty".
There should be: "kontakty" (just like in lines above).

• Context menu in WebDynpro?

Hi!
Is it possible to make a context menu?
I mean a menu for the right mouse click!
I think I`ve already seen it in the SAP Portal but I`m not sure.
Roman

Hi Pran,
i agree. But looking at Armin's answer in this Tree control events, the "(yet)" lets me hope, that the WD team is at least thinking about providing right-click functionality for some UI elements... Just guessing anyway

• NWDS New DC - Grey on Context Menu

Greetings:
Can someone please be of assistance with an issue I have run into as follows?
1) I imported a development configuration into NWDS.
2) when i right click on the custom SWCV to create a new DC.
3) the context menu is greyed and this was not the case initially when I setup the track.
I read several posts and notes that talks about the technology component not being available and the track under JSPM control, but I am not sure if either is my case. I am attaching screenshots of his this problem looks in NWDS.
DC creation is grey:
Modification is set to: No
Thanks,
Travis

Hi,
in NWDS, in the Component Browser there is a dropdown that is perhaps set to "All" in your case.
Could you please change it to Inactive ?
The SCs on which you can create DCs should be yellow coloured and not blue.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,

• Context menu in SelectionTreeView

Have worked to this point with savable TreeViews. Due to the multiple kinds of EMF resources I have for a project I now need to use SelectionTreeView instead.
I see that there are no context menus on the EMF elements visualized in a SelectionTreeView. Is there a way to add the menus?

Hi John
Francesco was referring to the section "Contextual Menu" not to the
"Menu Builder"; the custom menu builder you implemented is fine, but in
Parsley we automatically set context menus only on viewers inside a
"saveable view", not the ones inside "on selection views"; this is
because saveable views act on a resource and are meant to be editable,
while on selection views are usually used in read-only mode (at least,
we found this default behavior sensible :)
If you want the context menu on a viewer (inside any view that is not a
saveable one), you need to setup it yourself with the Java lines
documented in the section "Contextual Menu"; you also need to override
menuAboutToShow; you may want to have a look at
http://git.eclipse.org/c/emf-parsley/org.eclipse.emf-parsley.git/tree/plugins/org.eclipse.emf.parsley.views.common/src/org/eclipse/emf/parsley/views/AbstractSaveableViewerView.java
which is how we setup the context menu on saveable views.
As Francesco said, we're working on making this API much easier to use
and it should only take fewer lines to have a context menu on a viewer
(even without menuAboutToShow).
Please let us know if this fixes your problem.
cheers

• How to remove or hide toolbar context menu in visual studio IDE

Hi All,
Currently we are extending Visual studio and it's functionality.
As we know, we can have different categories of tool bars like standard, build, debug etc shown in pic -
or we can access the categories via - View Main Menu -> Toolbars
Basically My requirement is that, I don't want to show these options (Build, Debug, Debug Location, Layout, customize , Text Editor, Standard etc) shown in context menu or shown in submenu.
How can I achieve it ? Please advice.

AFAIK, you can only customize it manually, but can't hide the builtin menus:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/wdee4yb6(v=vs.100).aspx
or maybe you can try vsct:

• Playlists missing but still in context menu

Macbook Pro 13" 2013 running Mavericks and latest versions of both Mavericks and iTunes.
This is a bit of a weird issue. At some point in the last few weeks iTunes decided to update itself from 7.0 despite the fact that I said NO every time the opportunity popped up. Then lo and behold, I open it one day and it's a newer version - fricking gremlins.
Anyway, after this update my library and playlists had disappeared. I figured I would just open a previous library, but for some reason the newest previous library was several months old and didn't have some playlists.
While it's not a major issue to remake those missing playlists, what's irritating me is that they're in the context menu when I right click. I can even add music to them. But I can't see the playlist. And when I add a song to one of these missing playlists, the "Show in Playlist" menu item doesn't list these missing playlists. The major problem is an overlap in names - an old playlist and a new replacement playlist with the same name and I'm accidentally adding to the old, not new.
Anyone have ANY idea what the heck is going on here?
As an addition, I have the old playlists on my phone (iPhone 4) still. I haven't synced the phone since this problem came up because it wants to erase everything on my phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
brad

You aren't the only one. I did NOT upgrade to the latest Itunes version recently but upon entering Itunes today my playlists were all gone (and I spend a lot of time organizing playlists). Found a previous .itl (Itunes library file) and was able to save a lot of playlists but the .itl file was 6 months old so all updates made to playlists since then are gone. I may have lost more and am still determining loss but I really hate it when work is lost - I've been an Itunes user since it first came out and this is a regular experience.
Suggested update for Apple would be to create more historical .itl files (could be daily with user choices as to how many and naming conventions). .itl files can be big so there would have to be file reuse or some means to not overwhelm the user's computer with unused files.
