Eclipse version for jdk 1.4.2

Hi All,
I am a java new bee. I have a Java application which runs in jdk 1.4.2.The requirements for running my java application is as follows
Eclipse SDK V3.1.2
JDK 1.4.2
I have installed jdk 1.4.2 and i have downloaded the eclipse sdk v 3.1.2. It does'nt contain an .exe file. How to install eclipse so that i can open and run my Java project?

We also started developing MI Applications in NWD Studio SP 09 . Applications created using this version is not generic , since using the metadata information , its creating Proxy classes for each Sync BO used in our application.(meta data informations are in meRepMeta.xml file that we got from the MI server itself wrto particular MCD). Proxy classes contain the getter() and setter()(if we have the provision to create new entries) , corresponding to each fields in the Structure we used in our BAPI Wrapper. This proxy classes totally depends upon this meRepMeta.xml file.
   Imagine , u have already created the application and u want to change the application in this version . At this point of time u will face too much of difficulty..
   From SP 11 itself , the application are generic applications , it will not create Proxy classes that i mentioned earlier.Here we can use the adwantage of SmartSync APIs itself. ..
   Applications in SP 9 and SP11 are entirely different . it is too difficult to migrate from SP 9 to even SP11..
   So my opinion is u can start developing application from SP11 itself . But so many bugs in SP11 also..
even in MDK SP 13 some bugs are there ..
   But star developing applications from Studio SP 13 or SP11...
   But the MI server must be compatible. MI server is backward compatible.. So MI client must be in equal or lower version than that of MI server..

JDK version for installing SOA suite on windows vista

Hi
I am trying to install SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 on my Windows Vista 64 bit system. Currently, when running irca.bat, I am getting error "invalid java version 1.6.0_13. Version 1.4 is required."
But isnt the script supposed to run for all 1.4+ jdks. Which version of jdk do I need to install?

The complete error message in the popup is "Error in CreateOUIProcess(): 3". When you hit <OK>, you are back at the command prompt where you typed setup.exe.

Setting different JDK versions for Different webapp in Tomcat

Hi All,
I have 2 web-applications in Tomcat 5. Now for Java I have j2sdk1.4.2 & j2sdk1.3..
Now One of my application needs j2sdk1.4.2 while other can run only with
j2sdk1.3.. (This is an old project & there are java class package norms - like every class should be in a package to import it now. But earlier it was not strict).
Means this is absoulte for me to run one application with version 1.3 while other with 1.4.
But I can set Java_Home env. varibale only once. How can I tell my each web-application to take thier own jdk version in compiling & running.
Is this allowed in J2EE/Web-Containers.
Please suggest if there is any such setting which makes it possible.

wouldn't matter if you could.
The package enforcement is NOT something from J2SDK 1.4 but from the version of Tomcat used.
Each Tomcat instance will use the same JVM for all webapps running inside it. You'll need a separate Tomcat instance of an older version for the older webapp (or better yet change it around to the new rules).

Crystal Reports for Eclipse Version 2 - XML, XSD Report. Need hep !!!

I'm using Crystal Reports for Eclipse Version 2
I have looked for "Programmatically Create Reports off of XML or Web Services Data Sources", then i found some ways to do this.
But all the time, we have to use both XSD and XML files for Report Data Sources.
My question is:
1. Can we just add XSD file to report to define or update the report data definition only (no report data) ?
2. Can we just add XML file to report to update report data only (do not change report definition) ?
Anyone who have solved it, please give me an example.

DST fix for JDK 5 - conflicting info as to which version has the fix?

It seems that there are some conflicting information on which version of JDK 5 has the DST fix.
as per this link, http://java.sun.com/javase/tzupdater_README.html, it states 5.0_7 has the fix
The US2007DST data changes were incorporated into the following releases: 1.3.1_18, 1.4.2_11, 5.0u7.
This link also from Sun , http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Intl/USDST/, indicates that it is 5.0_6 or later.

1) It is in both places, program files and program files (x86)
2) But.... the desktop icon to elements points to the (x86) version.
3) I was not asked to put any other discs in, i will now go and install them, thanks for the advice. I was wondering why there were so many discs, i assumed it was mac stuff.

Which are correct versions of JDK that I must use?
Is jdk1.5.0_14 correct?

Hi Gerardo,
You can use Sun Microsystems J2SE SDK version 1.4.2_08 or 1.4.2_09 (Sun JDK 1.5 not tested). You can download this from Sun Microsystems at http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_09/index.html. Please note that version 1.4.2_10 may cause installation problems.

I want to use eclipse editor for java programming. For that the requirement is jdk 1.4 or above, but i have jdk1.3,
So, how to install latest version of JDK ? is it available on the net? If so, Please give me the URL. IS it necessary to delete existing jdk? If yes, how to configure class path for the latest version ?

MSR 2.0 NWDS-eclipse project for SAP MI 7.0 updating issue

I'm using NWDS 7.0 SP09 (based on Eclipse version 2.1.2) in order to changing the standard mobile application MSR 20 SR1 for SAP Mobile Infrastructure 7.0.
I have the original MSR.war that works fine but a MSR_eclipse.war version does not exists, so I need to know how to import the MSR.war application adding also all sources files correctly.
In NWDS I rebuilt the following MSR structure:
-application folder (including its JSP)
-customer folder (including its JSP)
-META-INF folder
-WEB-INF folder(*)
-home.jsp
-meRepMeta.XML
In WEB-INF folder(*) there are:
-application folder (including its view)
-customer folder (including its view)
-classes folder (empty, containg only properties files)
-lib folder (including mbscore.jar, mbsmake.jar, query.jar)
-srclib folder (including MSR.src.zip that contains all java source + msr.properties, msr_en.properties..)
-core.configure
-dataformat.properties
-settings.xml
-ui.properties
-web.xml
I succeed to build in NWDS in this way but when I export the first time and run the deployments, all .class files disappear and the MSR application doesn't work giving a 404 error, on the MSR home page, when I invoke the following URL: http://localhost:4444/MSR/start .
Could someone suggest me a method in order to correctly import/build the right structure of MSR?
Also have you any suggestion about the MDK configuration on NWDS 7.0 in terms of JDK version, ANT version and settings?

GB,
You should load the MSR_eclipse file in NWDS as that's the one which contains the source code.
If you don't have it, check the zip file which you downloaded from Marketplace, it should be there.
