EDI support in WLI 8.1

Hi,
I am designing an application that will need to integrate with other systems using EDI and am trying to find out about support for EDI in the WebLogic platform. I've found some documentation for EDI in WLI 7.0 (http://e-docs.bea.com/wli/docs70/edi/index.htm) but can't find anything for 8.1 - has EDI support been dropped in 8.1?
Francis

If you are looking for doing EDI over internet, the most reliable solution would be to use Cyclone. You can consider using Cyclone Interchange as gateway to external EDI, then integrate Cyclone with WLI. The integration between CI and WLI can be either JMS or file based.

  • EbXML 2.0 support in WLI

    Hi all,
Is there any information available on when (or if) "ebXML 2.0" will be supported in WLI?
    Thanks!
    Jim

According to the current plans, we will have support for WSRP 2.0, which addresses most of the limitations of the portlet 1.0 spec (JSR 168).

  • EDI support in Java

    Hi.
Is it still so that there is actually no support available for EDI?
I would like to have something like JAXB where I could generate classes from the UN EDIFACT text file format.

  • Transaction support in WLI

We have multiple EIS for which we have resource adapters used to integrate them in the WLI space. We need transaction capability. How do i handle the same as a single transaction?
For example: We have 2 legacy systems which listen on sockets for incomming requests. Now, we have 2 socket adapters to include them in the WLI business process definition. These 2 EIS are not XA compliant and need transaction coordination. Based on the response from the first EIS, we need to invoke the second EIS. Can we handle these conditions as a single transaction? If so, please provide some directions.
    Regards,

While going through the availaible documentation, i came across this: "You can have only one local-only resource in the transaction. The business process designer must ensure that only one local resource gets enlisted anywhere within a given set of explicit transaction tags (or the implicit outer transaction tags if none are given explicitly). If a second local-only resource is required, you must separate the first and second resources across transaction tags in the process definition language."
Does this mean that we cannot handle more than 1 local resource in one transaction?

  • PI EDI help: What is the source of ISA13 in a IDOC to EDI mapping

    Hello Experts,
It would be of great help if you can provide the field mapping for ISA 13 in outbound from IDOC sceanrio:
    IDOC:  INVOIC02 - to - EDI 810 mapping.
Is it the best practice to have ECC send the value in a particular IDOC field ( like  RFINT) or PI has to use a custom function to populate the ISA13 field.?
    Thank you,
    Patrick.

    Hi,
ISA13 is for Interchange Control Number. It is a control number assigned by the interchange sender.
Normally its Sequential number starting with 000000001 and incremented by 1 for each subsequent ISA between sender and receiver.
This is a very useful value to include. It creates an explicit link between the IDoc and the EDI transmission. This number eases Production Support greatly. When there's an issue with a Partner EDI transmission, the Partner's EDI support people want to know the Interchange Control Number
The IDoc interface does not process or check this field.
    regards

  • File type support by SAP XI

    Hello,
I looking for table with details about file formats that support by SAP XI.
file format that support by SAP XI  with adding's (like Itemfield) and formats that not support by SAP XI.
    For example:
File type .CSV support by SAP XI
File type .EDI support by sap xi with Itemfield add in
Thank you in advance for your help
    Elad

XI talks with files using its File Adapter. This file adapter can pick up any file with any structure.
After picking up the file, the task of adapter is to convert it into XI readable XML format. For this,
    - XI could directly understand input xml file or
    - XI could read text file using file content conversion or
    - u could write ur own code to read structures of any other file
    So no limitations as such.
    Regards,
    Prateek

  • Customer Forecast thru EDI

    Hello Gurus ,
We currently are planning to do a Consigment Scenario where the customer will be holding stock but its companies good unless he uses it
Q1)    Now how does Replishment/Forecasting work , like we are looking at the customer sending forecast via EDI to out system . How is this acheived , is there any documentation with respect to this .
    Regards,
    Nick

    Nick,
Customer consignment is a standard business scenario.  Try the solution described in Best Practices.
    119 – Customer Consignment Processing
There are a number of methods to support EDI processing; it depends upon what type of data your customers are capable of sending you, and optionally what type of middleware you will be using to receive the EDI.  In general, a common method is that the output of the middleware could be an SAP IDOC, which can then be processed into your SD and MM modules using ALE.
If you have never actually done such an implementation before, (customer consignment with EDI support) I suggest that you engage a resource to assist you who has experience in this area.  This is not a trivial implementation.
    Best Regards,

  • Windows 7 and Wireless N

I'm on my second USB wireless N network device and my PC on Windows 7 is still only operating on B and G. I have tried to set the time capsole to manually seperate the 2.4ghz from the 5ghz, but my PC still doesn't see the 5ghz network.  My new TV and my tivo both can connect to the faster channel.
I believe there is an issue with the network settings on my PC but I am not sure what to change. I have a bufflow adapter WLI-UC-GN.
My Macbookpro also has no trouble connecting at 300bps. Is there some kind of conflict between the apple and windows software? Has anyone
had a simular situation to mine and fixed it?

...but my PC still doesn't see the 5ghz network...I have a bufflow adapter WLI-UC-GN....
Does it support 5GHz?  If the below link is the correct user manual, it only mentions 2.4 and not 5GHz.

  • Inbound Idoc error notification

I created IDoc interfaces for FI, PO, and GR. As permitted agent, I specified a specific user for testing in partner profile. I want to widen the range of permitted agents, so I created a basic org structure (i.e: CoName->EDI Admin, EDI Support). I've assigned a few users to each position. This is where I get fuzzy about next step. Here's my understanding of next step
    -> Assign tasks to positions(i.e <msg type>_error)
    --> FIDCC1_ERROR for FI
    --> WMMBXY_ERROR for GR
    --> couldn't find PO tasks PORDCR_ERROR, PORDCH_ERROR
Can I assign a task group for the admnistrator?
Can someone lead me in right direction to fill gaps?
    Thanks

    Hi,
If each partner profile (or each message level within one partner profile) is to be assigned to a separate group of users, you can assign the respective positions (with the group of users included in the position) in the partner profile itself. (Instead of 'user' choose 'position' and specify the position you have created, in the partner profile settings where you are specifying users now). You can do it at the partner profile level, or at the individual inbound message level in the partner profile (Post processing agents in the detail settings screen for the inbound message - specify your 'position' there).
If this is not a one to one (by one I mean a position and not a single user) assignment, you will need to assign agents at the task level.
You can see all the standard tasks in SWE2 for example. Choose your business object (eg BUS2032 for purchase order) and corresponding task there. You can assign agents to these standard task in PFTC. For example, if a PO failed, task TS00008097 (in PFTC) which is based on errors encountered when creating a PO, will be triggered and the corresponding IDOCs can go to the assigned agents.
You have to note that the agents who receive the workitem is a intersection of these two assignments. So, let us say if you have assigned EDI_PO_SUPPORT at the task level, and CCD_PO_SUPPORT at the partner profile level, then the users common in these two positions will only get the workitem.
I have not looked into 'assign tasks to positions' as I have no experience in that. However, using the above, you can just create positions with users (do not bother about assigning these positions to any task), and assign that directly either at partner profile level or at task level, nothing else is required.
    Hope this helps,
    cheers,
    Ajay

  • Windows Applications and AirPort N

I have a W2k PC on my LAN hardwired to an Airport Ethernet port. A web log analysis application runs weekly reports to co-located servers across town. The application uses FTP to access the web logs and to post HTML reports. Since switching from my Belkin router to the AirPort Extreme N the application will not work. I have Internet access on the PC. I can access the logs using the application configuration tool but the reports fail due to the FTP connection being dropped.
Any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

SEEBURGER Upgrades EDI Adapter for SAP XI, Providing Advanced EDI Functions Embedded in SAP NetWeaver
--- SEEBURGER Inc. announced today that it has upgraded its EDI adapter for the SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) to equip users with new tools for mapping, tracking and archiving EDI messages.  The new Version 1.5 of the adapter is currently the only comprehensive EDI solution embedded in the SAP NetWeaver™ technology stack.
New features of SEEBURGER’s EDI adapter include:
Message tracking tools enabling business and/or IT users to instantly determine whether purchase orders, invoices and other trading documents have been sent or delivered to external business partners.  Users can search by different criteria including a specific message as well as groups of messages (e.g. all shipment notices that left the company between 8 and 10 am).  Results are viewable from a portal framework built into the adapter.
An expanded library of default messages that reduces implementation time and expense by allowing more EDI processes to be set up without creating messages and their corresponding syntax definitions from scratch.  The new version provides a six-fold increase in the number of general and industry-specific ANSI, EDIFACT, ODETTE and VDA messages supplied with the adapter.
Message archiving support allowing users to maintain a complete audit trail to meet international tax regulations and other information or compliance requirements.  Messages transmitted through the SEEBURGER adapter can now be forwarded to any third-party archiving system through a file share.  Each document is indexed for easy retrieval through the search function of the organization’s archiving system.
Other upgrades include expanded VAN compatibility that gives users a greater choice of data carriers, and technical improvements for faster and easier adapter setup.
The SEEBURGER adapter utilizes the XI toolsets to handle the EDI configuration, workflow, mapping and communications necessary to convert business documents from industry standards into the XML/SOAP-based format used by SAP NetWeaver.  Like the SEEBURGER B2B Gateway on which it is based, it accommodates all industry and regional-specific data standards and communications protocols to automate business processes with customers, partners and suppliers for organizations in virtually every industry sector and global geographic location.
Version 1.5 of the SEEBURGER SAP XI adapter is available immediately from both SAP and SEEBURGER sales and services organizations.

  • Implement HIPAA 835

Hello. We're trying to implement 835 using Oracle EDI Gateway. Currently, Oracle EDI supports 820 Payment/Remittance Advice but only for 2 levels - Payment and Invoice. We need to add Invoice Line level to this. Can I seek an advice on how to implement this.
    Thanks in advance.

I am from B2B dev team. We have complete support for EDI X12 & HIPAA documents in Oracle AS Integration B2B. We have couple of datasheets and and a technical presentation around this accessible from OTN/AppServer/Integration/B2B site.
You can also download and install the product from OTN and use the EDI X12 tutorial from the Uesr Guide.
If you need any other info regarding this, please send me a e-mail at [email protected]

  • EDI/XML translator in WLI 2.0

are any translator for EDI to XML available in WLI 2.0, to allow
developers to use EDI software as a service and/or integrate whole B2B solution
based on WLI 2.0 with existing EDI systems ?
    thanx in advance ...

In WLI 2.1 there will be full support for EDI including X12 and EDIFACT support. As
part of the solution there is a mapping tool that you can use to create maps from
    EDI to XML.

  • Do oracle integration support EDI X12 version 004010VICS

One of our trading partner is using 004010VICS as the EDI Standard and I am not finding this in the List of EDI Standards of Oracle Integration b2b Document Editor.
Is This standard supported by Oracle Integration Server
    Thanks,
    Varun

    Hi,
I've VICS 4010 - 850 document and am trying to create ecs and xsd file out of it, using b2b - Document Editor tool. The tool throws an error at GS08, version / release, stating "GSO8 is a coded segment and the value 004010VICS is not allowed in this segment".
    Question:
Does b2b product and document editor, support VICS standard? If yes, then please guide me through the process of creating ecs and xsd file and also the protocol to be used while defining the business actions in Integration B2B.
    TIA.

  • WLI 10.2 Support for oracle 10GR2 or not .......

We are evaluating ALSB 3.0 with WLI 10.2 and we would like to use Oracle RAC 10GR2.
    The BEA article at http://edocs.bea.com/platform/suppconfigs/configs102/102_over/supported_db.html#1178367
suggests that WLI 10.2 is not supported with Oracle RAC 10GR2.
I find this surprising since we are currently using WLI 8.1 SP4 with Oracle 9i RAC and its supported and its also possible to use WLI 9.2 with Oracle RAC 10GR2 according to this article http://edocs.bea.com/platform/suppconfigs/configs92/92_over/supported_db.html#1177976
and assuming you apply the appropriate Patch ID: 1VLA, Pass code: SJ88M5JJ
Anyone have any ideas on why WLI 10.2 is not supported with Oracle RAC 10GR2 as its an important architectural issue for us if we can not use RAC. Also does anyone know if BEA has any plans and timescales for when they will be supoporting Oracle RAC with WLI 10.2 ?

As luck would have it CR370015 was submitted to request a post GA certification of WLI 10.2 with Oracle RAC and it passed in the last few days. The docs have been updated to remove the comment on WLI not being supprted. See http://edocs.bea.com/platform/suppconfigs/configs102/102_over/supported_db.html#1178367
