Editing HTML to create image rollovers

Greetings,
I think I've read everything in the forum archives about this, and have received helpful fragments of responses, but am still not able to get image rollovers to work in iWeb.
1) I've created the actual rollovers in ImageReady, which generates its own html. 2) Following the directions of forum users, I've created a text box place marker on the iWeb page the size of the image with "Put Code Here" inside. 3)I've renamed ImageReady's "images" folder "resources," so as not to confuse it with the "Images" folder iWeb generates. 4) I publish to a folder. 5) Using an HTML editor, I change the file name "images" to "resources" where it appears in the rollover code. 6) I insert the script code from ImageReady into the header of the page html for the page where I want the rollover to go and the body code where the text box place marker is.
When I upload the site to the host, the image is at the right place on the page, but the rollover effect does not work. This makes me think that the problem is with the script. I've also tried generic rollover scripts recommended in this forum, but those haven't worked either.
So, the questions: where exactly does the html, both script and image rollover code, go in the iWeb page code? And, where should the folder with the ImageReady images be located?

So far I created an .avi file of the client's video and was able to burn a DVD successfully with Pinncle Studios 12 (Adobe could learn a lot from Pinnacle's easy DVD authoring).
I just hope that I created the most highest quality .avi file though. I had chose Microsoft AVI, Video Codec: DV NTSC, Field Type: Lower First, and clicked on Render at Maximum Depth. Is that the best? If not, what should I have chosen?
Right now I'm trying to install the 4.0.1 patch for Encore but I'm getting the error

Now for your question, I have opened my client's video in Premiere Pro CS, clicked on Export, Format: MPEG2-DVD, Quality 5, Frame Rate 29.97 non-drop frame, expanded the source file so that ALL of it is rendered (very stupid for Adobe to have only half of it selected by default), clicked okay. AME popped up, so I clicked on Start Queue.
I have no idea what to do with the other settings, so I left them at their default settings. (If you know of the correct settings that I should use for best quality, please let me know).
This video seemed to render fine, but there's no audio. I looked back at the settings, and the audio box was checked.

Creating a PDF that has editable fields and replaceable images

I've been trying to figure out how I can create a PDF that has editable texts and replaceable images. I'm working for a company in which all computers only have Adobe Reader as means to view or edit a PDF file. So far I have managed to create a file that has editable text fields with customized appearance, which is great! The next step however was to create 'fields' that can be filled by an image. Is there a way to create replaceable images with LiveCycle or any other prorgram for that matter.
My goal is simple: Create a PDF that has editable textfields and replaceable images. All of which should be done in Adobe Reader.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create this file and I'm wondering if Live Cycle can help me with this problem, or if this is even possible to begin with. Thanks in advance.

Your goal is very simple with the LCD. You are have to use only an Image Field (important no Image) from the object library.
Any time you can click on it and select a new picture.

Edit HTML in Blog

Hi All,
Basically I'm fidelling around with the Blog function and I'm trying to add a youtube video to the blog using the HTML code from youtube, and choosing edit html from the toolbar and pasting the code in.
When I press save the blog is blank. And when I press "edit html" again none of the code that I just pasted is there.
I'm no shark at html, so am I doing something wrong?

The html you are pasting is blacklisted. It's a security provision that Apple put in place for you. You can override it to allow the html, but you will have to create a custom whitelist on your server.

Unable to create image-based pop-up menu

Working in FW MX (yes, I know I'm behind the times!).
Created a pop-up menu; want to experiment with image-based
options, rather than html. When I choose IMAGE on the Appearance
tab of the pop-up editor, no styles are available in the style
choosers for up/over states. (And there ARE styles in the
assets--including some that I've just created.) Furthermore, when I
click through the NEXT buttons to DONE, then return to edit this
pop-up menu, it's defaulted back to html. Image just won't stick.
The documentation says this should be simple and
straightforward, but it ain't. I've spent several hours struggling
with this.

Okay, on the suggestion of one tech support person, I logged
in as a different Windows user. Whaddaya know, the style options
were there! However, when the file is exported, all I get is the
html version, no image/style-based popup. Same when I preview it in
browser (IE7, FireFox). But the preview in the pop-up editor does
show the styles applied--they just don't make it to publication for
some reason.

Flash hijacking HTML links while images are loading

I've designed a slide show player using Flash and Actionscript 3.0 which loads several external images. While the images are loading, the HTML links on my page (outside of the Flash movie) don't work. As soon as all the images are loaded, the links start working again. It seems like the Flash player is hijacking the browser while the images are loading which can take the better part of a minute depending on my connection speed. I can click an HTML link once during the loading time and as soon as the images have loaded, the browser loads the new page (the one the HTML links to). Once all the images are in my Temporary Internet Files folder, this problem ceases to exist (since the images no longer need to be downloaded). It's only first-time viewers that will have this problem, but it's a pretty major problem.

Click the Images button after the "Loading..." animation disappears but before all the images are loaded. As the images load the thumbnails at the bottom of the Flash player go from 50% to 100% opaque. If you click the "Images" button before all the thumbnails are 100% opaque, nothing happens. However, once they are all loaded and the thumbnails are all 100% opaque, the "Images" page loads. You can do the same thing with any of the subpages in the Images section of the site and get the same results.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You might try using CSS rollovers instead of MM (javascript) rollovers. Straight HTML links load fast and work immediately.

How to create Image as Custom Property Type used in Configurable Web Part?

I wanted to create custom configurable web part property for Image.
Example - the screenshot of Image property used in Image web part is shown below:
My goal is to create as many images as possible in custom configurable web part.
I tried to write the code:

I have examined that context node __00 has been enhanced,and has a class name z___00. But when I created a new attirubute by right click " Attributes" with wizard under context node __00.There is still a error message "view is not enhaced or copied with wizard".
But when I created a method "getvaliation " in the class of context node zcl__00, the attribute 'valiation' automatically created(at the same time the method "getvaliation' automatically created for the attribute 'valiation') and I need not to create attibute 'validation' by wizard . It seemed as if the problem is resloved. But when I make test for it in web ui .There is a runtime erro message.
Do I need to make some configurations in the business object layer for the checkbox? but the checkbox is only used as a flag to decide whether a backgoud job is needed to be executed.

HEllo friends!
I need your help, for editing html in editorpane.
I want to create a textarea in which the user type simple text than select some part of it & makes it bold, italic etc. by using an event of button or popup any thing.
So guide me that which textcomponent provide this , i already used JEditorPane, and insert tags manually but it is not good, if i try to overlap the tags og italic & bold.

JEditorPane or JTextPane are the classes to use. You can have both bold and italic for a text portion.

Horizontal menu with horizontal sub menu using image rollovers or similar

Hello,
I am brand new to web design and working on my first site. What I lack in skills, I have in free time to learn right now : ) Please let me know if there is a tutorial or other resource that describes what I am trying to do...I've been searching for days and just can't find what I'm after.
The design concept is a menu of main categories that apear to be floating over an object. When you hover over one, it looks like it gets pressed down in space resulting in the next line populating with subcategories to be selected. If you click on the main elements, you would be directed to that page - Services for instance. If you just hovered over a main category, you would be presented with a list of sub-categories that behave in the same fashion. If you then clicked on one of the sub-categories, you would be taken to that specific page.
Here's a sequence of images that show what I'm after.
I built all this in Illustrator as described in a Lynda.com tutorial. I then exported slices to dreamweaver and started building content. Each of the categories and sub categories is a separate slice with images built for the rollovers. I was able to build the main categories and get them to visually sink upon using an imageswap...now I'm stuck on how to get the second line to behave as I described.
This is a fun learning experience. Let me know if there is a better way to achieve the design. I just stared investigating SSIs as well and see the value in having this menu in just one place, referenced into all my subsequent pages. I have successfully embeded an SSI footer with rollovers on my page, but this menu problem is really tough for me.

I tried building a Spry Horizontal menu to get what I want, but I had no success there. Any tips for that?
On a separate note...I do not know if it is proper to use a 'tabbed panel' for my menu project, but it seems to work fine. I have built both the top (main category) and bottom (sub category) lines of my menu using spry with .png image rollovers.
Now I just need to find out how to make the main category button rollover stay 'down' while browsing the subcategories. I would also like to get the subcategories to populate upon mouseover of the main category, without requiring a selection. Now that would be slick : ) In my example above, the 'services' title should be depressed while in that submenu and look like 'landscape design'.
One minor problem is the space created between my subcategory images. I can't find the .css or .js that is creating that space. I've really trimmed down all the .css and do not know where else to hunt.

Shared Components Images Create Image does not work

I am using oracle XE on Windows XP.
Uploading an image for an application does not work.

It goes wrong when I try to upload the image:
- Iexplorer gives an error 404 after pressing the Upload button.
- Firefox just gives an empty page.
When I try to refresh the resulting page (do another post) I get the following error:

Editing HTML file leaves temporary files lying about the place

G'day
CFB 2.0.1, installed as stand-alone on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. Although this has been the case since CFB 1.0, and on various Windows installs.
Whenever I edit a HTML file (ie: with a .html extension), CFB creates a temporary file in the same dir, eg: .tmp_charts.html.33659~ (the original file name is charts.html). I've no problem with this - other than the fact it should not be necessary - but what I do have a problem with is that it does not tidy up after itself once it's done: the tmp files stay there. This is a bit sloppy.
I'm sure (100% sure) I've raised with this with Adobe in the past, and raised a bug for it, but it's not on the bug tracker for some reason.
Can other CFB users test out what happens when they edit HTML files with CFB? Note: the tmp file does not show up in the navigator listing within CFB, but it is there in the file system if one looks with Windows Explorer.
I'm going to raise a bug again (done: 3328624), in the hope this can be fixed. It's a minor thing, but I'm sick of accidentally committing rubbish to my source control because I forget CFB can't tidy up after itself.

Come to think of it, I had another issue with CFB leaving bits around a while back. Ahhh, now I can't remember exactly what the issue was. I remember it had to do with mapping a networked drive. When I would map a particular drive letter, say 'W', then start CFB it would create an entire folder hierarchy on there seemingly from a different server. I know this because we have two different CF environments here; some server are running CF under JRun and others are running CF under WebSphere. I only noticed this issue because I had mapped one of our JRun servers and all of a sudden it had portions of the WebSphere directory structure on there. I think it had to do with a workspace in CFB but can't remember for sure. I fixed it a while back by removing the offending setting in CFB. Man, wish I could remember exactly what it was...

Editing old site created in Dreamweaver

I have to edit my website (created by someone else in Dreamweaver for me about five years ago). The only thing I really need to change is the "last modified on ..." date - so a very simple edit.
I have all the files but can't remember how to edit them. I tried to open the "index" html file in Dreamweaver but it's not letting me make any edits in the code panel. Is that not the file that I need to edit?

sorry, didn't see before, that you already solved your editng problem. Here a hint in the ftp-direction and only to show you another way to all these really good and correct advices, I'll try to give my recommendation:
For various reasons I prefer to upload my files and sometimes for the opposite way, for a necessary download from my server, with a program which works "outside" of the DW. Therefore I am using filezilla with great success and it looks for me easier to keep track of all operations precisely and generate or reflect easily the desired tree structure.

New CSS Rollovers not align same as Image Rollovers - Dreamweaver CC

I have put together a test page replacing Javascript Image Rollovers for CSS Image Rollovers and the alignment of items in the 3 columns (DIVS) is not the same as when old style rollovers. I cannot seem to find the error in my CSS and would like another pair of eyes to see if I'm missing something. Here is the screenshot of new page from Firefox, followed by the CSS. Images are loading into #sidebar1 (left column), #sidebar2 (right column) and #MainContent. #MainContent seems off centered and #sidebar outside margins are different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The text isn't centered within the containers for two reasons.
1. Their display is set to block and
2. There is nothing telling them to be centered
One way to fix it would be to change the <a> tags to inline-block and add text-align:center to their parents and everything should center nicely within the columns.

When I select HTML from Create New, it appears in Doc tab as untitled-1.XHTML

Every time I select HTML from Create New in the Welcome screen, it appears in the Document tab as untitled-1.XHTML, with a green icon. In the past it's always come up as document-1.html, with no icon, as in my textbook. I don't know why it's doing this, whether it's important (I would guess that it is), or how to change it. I'm new to Dreamweaver. Any help would be much appreciated...

Which version and build # of DW do you have? You'll find it under Help > About Dreamweaver.
Also, which preferences have you specified for new documents?
Go to Edit > Preferences > New Document.
The default extension should be either .htm or .html, .shtml or .php -- depending on the type of files you work with most.

Creating Image Files

Is it possible in Tiger to create image files that are readable on a PC using Disk Utility? I a trying to copy my Canon software as a backup that can be used on both my Mac and PC. Disk Utility creates a .CDR file but I don't think that is compatible.
