can any one tell me how we have to creat OCI for the oracle to connect EIS to oracle.(or any ODBC driver to connect to oracle).when connecting with ODBC it is showing "error can not load resource file sqresus.dll".

The easiest way to connect to Oracle would be to use the merrant Oracle Wire Protocol driver that gets delivered with the install. This doesn't use an oracle client so the only configuration that needs to be done is when you actually create the DSN.

ADK - Keeping EIS Connections Alive

Hi,
          I am using the ADK that comes with WL 8.1 SP3. The challenge I am facing is to keep my connections alive while there is no activity (at the TCP/IP socket level) between the app server and the EIS.
          The EIS closes any sockets after 30 minutes of inactivity causing the connections to go into CLOSE_WAIT state.
          Is there any method I can use within the connector to keep pinging the server and make sure these connections have TCP/IP traffic?
          Has anyone used the <test-frequency-seconds> weblogic-ra.xml? What is its purpose? pinging?
          Appreciate your insight..

          I have a requirement, which is some what similar to what is mentioned above.
          I too have to ping the interface at regular intervals to keep the connection alive. I also assumed that, we can use the test-frequency-seconds attribute. But for that to work, we have to implement the interface, http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/resource/spi/ValidatingManagedConnectionFactory.html, which is there only from weblogic 9.
          But since our client is using weblogic 8.1, we are tied to that version.
          Can anyone please assist in solving this.

Error trying to establish connection to the EIS

I created a simple Drag&Relate structure, With one InfoObjects as source and a R/3 transaction as target.
it works fine but only with my user !!!
When other user wants to use this functionality appear this message:

I verified that this user had permisions in BO and Iviews...
I assigned him super_admin role, but it isn't working

Which method are you using for the backend connection, SAPLOGONTICKET or UIDPW?
If it is SAPLOGONTICKET then the each user that you are using in the Portal runtime should be defined (same user name) in the backend that he access. If it is UIDPW then you have to map every Portal user which accesses the backend system to a user in the backend, via the Portal user mapping.

Does anyone know how to implement the following behaviour? :
I am doing a WLI project which requires integration of sap and siebel and
I want to implement the following behaviour :
ü Independence / asynchronous. The Siebel and SAP applications must be
able to run completely independent of each other when the interface is
deployed. When one application is unavailable, the other must run as usual.
Any "postponed" interfacing because of unavailability of the other
application must be executed when both applications are available again.
Anyone knows how to do the "postponed" interfacing ?

Yes, you can implement a BPM exception handler to do the wait, but as you
indicate, you'll need to know exactly how to interpret the exception
received from the adapter.

Detecting faulty connections from the connector pool - J2CA

There is a way to detect/validate connection/faulty connection in JCA 1.5. Is there any possible ways to detect the faulty connections in earlier JCA versions. How do destroy the physical EIS connection.

ResourceAdapter can use connectionErrorOccurred of ConnectionEventListener to signal the application server that the connection is bad/invalid.
However, appserver cannot query the resource adapter to check whether the connection is valid or not.

Airport Extreme x 2

Hi,
I have two Airport Extremes both running 7.6.1 . The airport extreme in the offic eis connected directly to the ADSL router which is in Bridge mode so that the extreme is acting as a DHCP and NAT . This part works fine with my PPoE details and all devices connected via ethernet or wirless can connect to the internet .
My problem comes when i connect the second airport extreme via ethernet . I want it to sit on my network and extend the wireless . As soon as i plug the etehrnet cable in the whole network goes down . If i leave it to connect to my network with wireless its fine

Hi - when you switch to ethernet, you have to change the Second Extreme to "create a wireless network" with the same name and password and security type as the first Extreme - the way you are doing it, it is backfeeding and shutting down your network.

For your case, I suggest to
(1)run the cleanWF.cmd script then shutdown the server
(2)restart the server
(3) run cleanWF again
(4) run the sample.

Check the startweblogic script file for WLS and remove all the previous one-off patches added in the CLASSPATH, if they have been fixed in the current SP level installed. For example, if you have WLS 6.1 SP2 installed:
In the startweblogic script, the following entry was added in the CLASSPATH :

once this line is removed, the problem may be solved.

Calling Tibco EMS through Weblogic

We're POCing Oracle SOA as a replacement for Tibco at our company, however, until we fully replace our tibco architecture, for reusabilities sake we want to be able to call tibco ems from applications hosted on weblogic.
So far, we've been unable to get any of our calls to EMS to succeed, as we're missing some unknown, critical peice of understanding required to use the service properly.
Here is what we know works:
We can deploy applications that make successful database calls using the database adapter in JDeveloper.
JDeveloper can see exposed queues on weblogic using the JMS Adapter wizard.
In the console/JNDI tree we can confirm that weblogic can connect to tibco by configuring weblogic through either the /Console/Services/Foreign JNDI Providers or /Console/Services/Messaging/JMS Modules/SomeModules/SomeForeignServer/Destinations
However, we have no idea how to get the Queues in the JNDI tree to apear in the JMS Adapter Wizard in JDeveloper, neither do we know how to get those queues to actually call Tibco, so we can forward calls to Weblogic to Tibco where appropriate.
Any clues at all would be awesomely amazing.

Using TIBCO EMS or WebLogic JMS is essentially the same in a SOA Composite application. In both cases, the key step is to configure a new EIS connection resource in the Oracle JMS Adapter. This step is performed in EM Fusion Middleware Control (or scripted using WLST). It's the EIS connection resource that physically points to your TIBCO EMS server endpoints and a specific TIBCO EMS connection factory. Of course, when using TIBCO EMS, you also have to drop tibems.jar into your WebLogic $DOMAIN_HOME/lib directory and restart.
There's a couple variants of how to point the JMS Adapter at TIBCO (so-called direct and indirect) -- tcp:// and tibjmsnaming:// respectively. The latter is better architecturally since you are using TIBCO's JNDI services rather than bypassing them. Examples for TIBCO EIS connection definitions are in the JCA Technical Adapter section of the Fusion Middleware documentation.
From a SOA developer's point of view, their JMS service or reference definition is not provider-specific. The developer points to the JNDI name of the created JMS Adapter EIS connection, and specifies the destination (queue or topic) JNDI name. Remember, with TIBCO EMS, that destination name is TIBCO's JNDI name, not a local WebLogic JNDI name. (Caveat is that you can mash up WebLogic Foreign Server definition with EIS Connection Pool definition - I don't recommend this-- and in that case, the developer is using the local JNDI alias for the "foreign" TIBCO destination).
JDeveloper:
As you noticed, JDeveloper provides a wizard-assist to the developer for selecting a destination (queue or topic) only if the provider is WebLogic JMS or Oracle AQ. If it is a third-party provider, then there is no look-up. The developer just types the correct 3rd-party destination name (hopefully) value in.

Below is the line of my LoginServlet class which is
referred to in the stack trace - Object object =
context.lookup
                    ( "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" );The root of the naming context is 'java:comp/env' and this is where lookup automatically begins for EJBs and resources. IOW, by specifying "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" as the EJB lookup name the server is actually treating this as "java:comp/env/java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk". Specify only the ejb context ("ejb/WarehouseClerk") in your lookup and you should be fine.
Any help would be most appreciated.

No Connection between EIS console and the Integration Server

HI,
EPM System 11.1.2.2
1. I have Integration Server and Oracle on the same machine (windows 2008 R2 x64).
2. I have created ODBC(system DSN) on the same server.
3. I have a client machine (windows 7 x64) on which EIS console has installed.
4. Error while connecting to the Server with IP address, the Catalog ODBC DSN drop down keeps on loading and results in No connection error.
Tried:
1. Created a ODBC with the same name as on the Server, ODBC has created. But from EIS Console, I enter the IP address of the Integration server, click on Catalog ODBC DSN, no connection error.
No errors on Server log.
The Port 3388 is opened.
From Shell:
Used the command LOGIN xx.x.x.x
Results in Network error xxx.x.x.x:1423
Essbase Server is just fine and can be connected from the same client machine from smartview,MAxl, EAS
The same worked for me on different environment.
Any suggestions would be apprecaited!!!
