Element Entries and Absences in Oracle HRMS 11.5.7 FP.K
Does anybody know if there are any changes in FP.K regarding Creation of Element Entries and Absence Monitoring Window?
I can see the record in ELEMENT ENTRIES for Annual Leave for days entitled
(tables affected HR.pay_element_entries_f and HR.pay_element_entry_values_f)
but in Absence Window the Remaining Balance is not changed. (from view PAY_VIEW_ACCRUAL_PLANS_V )
If anyone has any idea of how this is handled it will be highly appreciated.

I don't think you will find any one place for this documentation!
Try some of the following:
The 'product' is sometimes known as 'availability'. That may help MetaLink searches.
The functionality was delivered in patch 4429140.
That patch was then included in HR FP.K RUP1 and RUP2. Their redmes may contain soemthing about it.
The ebst docuemntation I have found is in MetaLink note 414834.1 which in turn relates to a number of other notes.
Hope this helps. If it doesn't, please come back as I may be able to find some presentatiosn I've given customers. I ahve also impelmented this a few times now and can probably help with further information.

Element Link Costing, Oracle HRMS 11.5.10.2, Project Task

Hi there
I have a situation with Element Entries Costing.
Client wants to update the Project and Task at Element Entries level.
This a Benefit Deduction Element, which is update through the Custom Interface and update in Element Entries and used in Oracle Payroll.
Client wants to update the Project and Task in Costing.
I am looking for a Solution, let say I have a Project and Task setup at Costing , Do I have to write a code to update Project and Task manually through my interface.
I am using BEE to create batch lines and update in Element Entries.
How Can I achive the Costing update at Element Entry?*

Hi - does anyone have information on the architectural difference between 11i and r12 in oracle hrms??

There is not much difference between 11i and R12 with respect to architecture.
Some D2k forms moved to OAF and mainly bug fixes and minor enhancements.

I belive as of now there is no official Oracle HR certification by Oracle University.
Are you talking about the "course completed certificate" for the folks who are taking the training.

The QuickCode is invalid for YES_NO BEE Lines Element Entries

Hi there
While I am trying to create the batch in BEE for Oracle Payroll Element Entries I am getting fatal ERROR
The QuickCode is invalid for YES_NO
I have an element which has two input value one is Separate Payment and second is Tax Separately. While I am moving “No” which is a valid LOOKUP Code values, the BEE (Oracle Internal Process) move “N” instead of “No” and that Batch Line goes invalid with Fatal error.
This Element has also Default value "No" setup at element description, If I don't pass any thing it suppose to pass "No" to all element entreis but Oracle some times Pass "No" in Element entries and some time it just move NULL.
So I have to forced "No" at Batch Line in that Input value but it is not working.
Every time I run the interface it has the problem. BEE move "N" instead of "No"
I am using pay_batch_element_entry_api.create_batch_line API. to creat Batch Line.
Element Type: Recurring
Element Clasification: Supplemental Earnings
At Earning Screen: Separate Payment ='No'
At Element Screen: Separate Payment is Checked
RDBMS : 10.2.0.4.0

Batch Element Entry - BEE

Hi Gurus
I am new to oracle payroll, I was going through batch element entry, and i come across with the below explanation in the oracle help window. Can someone please explain me the point no. 2 (Reject Entry), because i am totally helpless to understand and i would appreciate if you can explain me the control totals to validate the batch.
/* Select what action the process should take if one of the batch lines matches an existing element entry for an assignment at the effective date.
1. Create New Entry - The process creates a new entry if multiple entries of the element are allowed by the element definition. If multiple entries are not allowed, the process sets the status of the batch line to Error.
2. Reject Entry - The process sets the status of the batch line to Error.
3. Change Existing Entry - The process corrects or updates the existing entry. If there is more than one existing entry, the process sets the status of the batch line to Error. */

Thanks for your reply. I tried in the application.
Created a Batch element entry with 'Reject Entry'
In BEE, An Overtime element (Non-Recurring) is chosen with entry value of 15 to employee 101, 102 & 103. But before doing this, i have added this element (overtime) manually to employees 102 & 103 but not to 101 in the assigment element entry form with some entry value.
Once i process the BEE to validate. It showed the batch status as ERROR. Then i process to transfer. It got transfered and the status showed me 'Transfer Incomplete'.
Result - element overtime has been added only to the employee 101 with entry value 15. For other 2, the entry value remained same as i mentioned manually.
So i conclude that 'Reject Entry' rejects adding or updating the element and element values, if its exists in assignment element entry screen.'

How to skip Pay Value in formula defined in Element Entry Form

Dear,
We are on 11.5.10 version, right now there is and element allowance which amount is defined in Pay value for each employee under the element entry and no formula attached for this element. However, we have an other element monthdays - absentdays in that month, suppose as mentioned example, As per new policy system should calculate pay value would be
((monthdays -absentdays * (Pay value / monthdays) )
Allowance           = 30000
Absentdays           = 2
Monthdays           = 30
Result would be = (30-2) * (30000/30) = 28000
We will create formula once i come to know the way through which can get pay values and use it in formula.

But we want user to enter pay-value under the element window and to be overwrited it on the bases of payroll formula condition,

TO ADD A CUSTOM ENTRY IN RIGHT CLICK POP UP MENU IN ORACLE HRMS FLEX FIELDS

We are building a custom help for Oracle HRMS. For this I need to add a custom Help entry in the right click pop up menu. I did this by adding the code APP_POPUP.INSTANTIATE('POPUP10','Custom Help',TRUE,'LINE') in the APPCORE lib. After this change the right click menu shows the new entry 'Custom Help' when user right clicks in any of the form but the new entry Custom Help' doesn't show up when I right click in flexfields. I am sure I need to do some thing else for flex fields.. Does any one have any idea on this ?

You have to refer to the Current Form, Current Block , Current Item so that the menu appears only in the form where you want to see.

Where do you see these fields? Please give full details (eg, the navigation path).
If you're referring to Effective Start Date and Effective End Date (effective_start_date, effective_end_date) these are two fields that appear on many HRMS entities. They're used to store dated history over time. For example:
14-Jan-2009 to 19-Apr-2009 - Pam Stephens
20-Apr-2009 to date - Pam Erickson
In this example Pam got married on the 20th April 2009 and changed her surname from Stephens to Erickson. Here the history of changes are kept so that if we date-track to any time prior to the 20th April 2009 we'll see Pam Stephens and if we date-track on or after the 20th April 2009 we'll see Pam Erickson.
