Elements and values in payroll

Hi,
This is a basic question i guess but i'm a bit confused so trying for clarification.
Can someone please explain me the following:
1) In Payroll, elements are created. So how are the values entered in the elements? If through fast formulas then which formulas?
2) In BEE process, why do we define Assignment sets in the Batch lines? Is it to enter values into the elements assigned to those Assignments?
3) Also please clarify me the difference between Batch Element Entry and PayMix Entry.
Thanks a lot in Advance.
Kumar

Though these are basic questions, i would say these are the building blocks of the product
I would strongly recommend you to go through the user guide. by just getting answers for your question in the forum will not help you in a long run

  • Settle Production Variances to COPA- Cost elements and Value fields

    Dear All,
    I know this question has been discussed in the past, but I have one specific doubt regarding this topic.:
    When assigning cost elements to variance categories in t-code KEI1, how do we figure out what combination of cost elements (in the top half of the screen) constitute Input Price Variance, Scrap variance etc (in the bottom half of the screen)? I know the net of the postings on those cost elements tells us what variances we are looking it, but how do we get the cost elements (group) for let's say, 'Input/Output Quanity Varinace or 'Lot size Variance' ?
    Or is this a futile exercise? May be I should just create three types of variances: Labor, Machine and Overhead. And I know what cost elements (net of the postings) would, in total, make up the $ variance in each of those categories. I can then use them in my report painter reports.
    Please help clear the fog for me.
    Ajay?
    Thanks a lot,
    Deepak

    Hi Deepak,
    Welcome to SDN!!
    There are 2 ways of updating variances in COPA... I Prefer the 2nd option always...
    1. Category wise variances (Input Prc, Usage var, etc) - Here, create a Cost ele group, where in you include all the Cost elements that can be posted to the Prod orders
    For the sake of simplicity, you can include Cost elements 1 to 99999999 in the Cost element group...
    2. Cost Comp Structure wise variances -
    a. Create as many assignment lines in PA Trf Structure as in your Cost Comp Str...
    Eg: If your Cost Comp Str in OKTZ has Raw Mat, Labor, Overhead - Create 3 Assignments in PA Trf Structure..
    b. Assign the same cost elements in the SOURCE as in the Cost Comp Str
    c. Choose the radio button "Costs/Revenues" in your assignment line, instead of " Variance on Production orders"
    d. Assign each Assignment line to a separate Value Field

  • Function to return the Entry Value based on Assignment, Element and Date

    Hi Guys,
    Is there a function that returns the Entry Value for the Assignment Element, based on the Assignment Number, Element Name, Entry Segment and the End of Period date?
    Example:
    ==============
    Input Parameters:
    Employee: Iana
    Assignment Num: 123
    Element: D480
    Element Entry: Fund Name
    Output Parameter:
    Element Entry Value: MLC Super Fund
    Thanks,
    Iana

    For element entry values you can use:
    select petf.element_name, nvl(peevf.screen_entry_value,0) screen_entry_value
    from
    pay_element_entries_f peef, pay_element_types_f petf,
    pay_element_entry_values_f peevf, pay_input_values_f pivf,
    per_all_assignments_f paaf
    where petf.element_type_id = peef.element_type_id
    and :p_date_earned between pivf.effective_start_date and pivf.effective_end_date
    and :p_date_earned between petf.effective_start_date and petf.effective_end_date
    and peevf.input_value_id = pivf.input_value_id
    and paaf.assignment_id = peef.assignment_id
    and petf.business_group_id = :p_business_group_id
    and peevf.element_entry_id = peef.element_entry_id
    and :p_date_earned between peef.effective_start_date and peef.effective_end_date
    and :p_date_earned between peevf.effective_start_date and peevf.effective_end_date
    and :p_date_earned between paaf.effective_start_date and paaf.effective_end_date
    and pivf.name = :p_input_value_name

    and peevf.effective_end_date = peef.effective_end_date
    --and peef.assignment_id = :p_assignment_id
    and paaf.assignment_number = :p_assignment_number;
    For payroll results you can use:
    select sum(prrv.result_value)
    from pay_run_results prr, pay_run_result_values prrv,
    pay_assignment_actions paa, pay_payroll_actions ppa,
    pay_element_types_f petf, pay_input_values_f pivf,
    per_all_assignments_f paaf, per_all_people_f papf
    where
    petf.element_type_id = pivf.element_type_id
    and :p_pay_date between petf.effective_start_date and petf.effective_end_date
    and :p_pay_date between pivf.effective_start_date and pivf.effective_end_date

    and papf.person_id = paaf.person_id

  • How to get the name and value of an attribute on a node/element that is not a child

    Hello,
    Can someone shed some wisdom on how I can compare 2 xml nodes for differences.
    My main challenge is I need to use the attributes/values of 'ProductDescription' and 'Features' as 'key' to identify the same node in
    another doc with the same layout, but different content.
    I am having trouble getting the name of the attribute on the node, 'ProductDescription' and 'Features'.  I can only seem to get the node names, but not the attributes on the node.  I need the name, because it can be different from doc to doc, so
    I can't hardcode this.
    Can someone please help with how to retrieve an attribute name/value on a node that is not a child.  Here's an example of what
    my xml looks like:
    DECLARE
    @myDoc1 xml
    ,@mydoc2 xml
    DECLARE
    @ProdID int
    SET @myDoc1 ='<ProductDescription ProductID="1" ProductName="Road Bike">
    <Features  featureID  = "1" featureName = "body">
      <Warranty>1 year parts and labor</Warranty>
      <Maintenance>3 year parts and labor extended maintenance is available</Maintenance>
    </Features>
    <features featureID = "2" featureName = "seat">
      <Warranty>1 year parts and labor</Warranty>
      <Maintenance>2 year parts and labor extended maintenance is available</Maintenance>
    </Features>
    </ProductDescription>
    SET @myDoc2 ='<ProductDescription ProductID="1" ProductName="Road Bike">
    <Features  featureID  = "1" featureName = "body">
      <Warranty>2 year parts and labor</Warranty>
      <Maintenance>3 year parts and labor extended maintenance is available</Maintenance>
    </Features>
    <features featureID = "2" featureName = "wheel">
      <Warranty>1 year parts and labor</Warranty>
      <Maintenance>2 year parts and labor extended maintenance is available</Maintenance>
    </Features>
    </ProductDescription>
    I need to compare the attributes of 'ProductDescription' and 'Features' from @mydoc1 against @mydoc2 to see if they are the same based on those 2 nodes first.  If they are, then i want to show the difference in the child elements.
    This will eventually be an outer join to give me the differences betw the 2 docs based on those key values (node attributes).
    I used node('//*') for the path, and value('local-name(../.)', 'varchar(50)') as element
    ,value('.[not(@xsi:nil = "true")]','VARCHAR(255)') AS new_value
    ...etc...
    but that only gives me the node names, and the child elements.  It does not give me back the attribute names and values from the node itself.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    cee

    Are you looking for something like this:
    DECLARE @myDoc1 xml
    SET @myDoc1 ='<ProductDescription ProductID="1" ProductName="Road Bike">
    <Features  featureID  = "1" featureName = "body">
      <Warranty>1 year parts and labor</Warranty>
      <Maintenance>3 year parts and labor extended maintenance is available</Maintenance>
    </Features>
    <Features featureID = "2" featureName = "seat">
      <Warranty>1 year parts and labor</Warranty>
      <Maintenance>2 year parts and labor extended maintenance is available</Maintenance>
    </Features>
    </ProductDescription>'
    SELECT T.c.value('local-name(.)', 'nvarchar(50)') AS name,
           T.c.value('.', 'nvarchar(50)')  AS value
    FROM   @myDoc1.nodes('ProductDescription/@*') AS T(c)

    Hi
    Just as an aside to the comments above, a scenario we see occasionally is where a desk provides an internal function (e.g. a helpdesk) and you really just want to get the name display (as seen on the handsets) onto the CAD display.
    You can do this by  doing a reverse lookup over HTTP against CUCM. There are a number of posts around, these should get you started :
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2065114
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3024617
    A couple of notes:
    - It looks up against the directory, NOT the actual calling line. So you can add stuff to the directory to get external callers to show up by name, but should expect the unexpected when you have shared lines (e.g. multipel directory entries with one tel number for whatever reason)
    - If you want to do different lookups (i.e. get names back in a different format, get the actual line display name from CUCM, or lookup elsewhere) then you would need to either:
    1) Do it via SOAP or another technology from the UCCX script engine
    2) Put in a small external web service to do the lookups and allow UCCX to query via simple HTTP
    3) Use a DB for the numbers so you can read/write to it from UCCX and regularly update the data from wherever you like

  • Activity elements planned values not showing in profit centres and cc.

    Hi,
    i'm currently working on a project involving Co and PS. I'm in charge of the CO module and i've got a problem with planned values on activity elements and in PS. Planned values are calculated on activty elements and so are actual and they show in real time in profit centres and cost centres but not their planned counterpart values. i've absolutely nothing on profit and cost centres reports. Integrated planning is activated in PS and so is project in versions.
    i've asked the PS "Expert" and he said it comes from the "plan cost calculation" tab in cj20n, which obviously isn't the cause.
    Doesn't it come from the project profile or status profile customizing? (opsa or ok02)?
    Can the problem come from CO?
    any help appreciated
    regards

    Hi Sreenivas,
    thanks for your help and sorry for my late answer.
    what is the difference between FAGL_CO_PLAN and transaction 1ke0.
    when i log on transaction 1ke0, i can see all my planned values.
    wouldn't the issue be resolved by launching t-code faglgcle "fi-gl activate update of plan line items" ?

  • Getting Tag and value from the selected Xml element value

    Hi All,
    I have an xml file which i import to the Indesign CS3 .From the structure view , i drag and drop the root node on to the page. Now i select an xml value from the page. Now i need to get the element tag and value from the selected value.
    For example
    File Name : sample1.xml
    <Root>
    <employeeName> A</employeeName>
    <employeeEmail>[email protected]</employeeEmail>
    </Root>
    Now i import this sample.xml in my indesign CS3 and from the structure view i drag the Root  tag and drop it on the page.Now the values of the element tag are displayed.
    Now i select "[email protected]" from the page and i have a menu "Get Selected XML" on clicking which  i should get element tag with value.(i.e <employeeEmail>[email protected]</employeeEmail>)
    How to go about it.?
    Thanks

  • Msg KH206 In element "" the system adds quantities and values or diff.curr.

    Dears,
    In report painter KE35, i've add an formula
    Planned sales profit = Planned sales rev - expense
    but sales rev. is made of the other formula
    Planned sales rev = Planned sales price * sales QTY
    So, an error "Msg KH206 In element "sales profit" the system adds quantities and values or diff.curr."
    Then i use KER1 to achieve above formula for COPA layout use, but same error occured.
    Msg KH212_ For key figure  "Planned sales profit", quantities and values or different currencies were added.
    Any method can solve this question?
    Thanks in advance.
    BR,
    Emma

    Hi,
    For the transaction KE35 you can use the no dimension function (NDI), like this:
    NDI (Planned sales price)  * NDI (sales QTY)
    I have this problem in the KER1 too, but on this transaction we do not have this NDI option.
    Best Regards,

  • Extract cluster element names and values automatically

    Dear Labview forum,
    I would like to extract cluster element names and values automatically
    without prior knowledge of the cluster element size or contents.
    I am able to extract the names but have some trouble with the values.  (see attached VI)
    I wish to write each the cluster element name and value in a string, and then write the string to a new line in a file.
    Regards,

    This can become arbitrarily complex, because a cluster can contain many types of data, even other clusters, arrays, typedefs, etc. So getting a "value" of an element is not as easy as you might think. There is a reason you get a variant.
    If all cluster elements are simple numerics you can use "variant to data" with the correct type. The attached shows a few possibilities. Modify as needed.

  • Element input values

    Hi,
    I have a recurring element that has input parameters as Eligible Amount and Pay Value.
    The Eligible Amount will vary greatly every month and some times the user may not enter any amount in the input values(as required.
    But If I'm entering a value like 100 it is by default appearing in the next month as well in the input values
    An Eligible Amount entered should be available only for that month? How to overcome this.
    Thanks

    If you cannot use a non-recurring element, the only way I see is to update the element entry after every payroll run.
    You can schedule a concurrent request for the same, which can be run on 1st of every month.
    Use the element entry API to update the entries -

  • Element and Balance Adjustment

    Hi all,
    We have a recurring deduction element. Lets call it ABC. Last month when ABC ran in payroll, it deducuted $100 rather than $50. Now in the next month's payroll we want to refund the employee $50 AND also show it on the Statement of Earnings.
    The question is how do I go about doing this and adjust the element AND the balance associated with it.
    Would appreciate a quick response. if possible.
    Thank you all,
    OB

    Try this in test system.1. Do I make another element with the SAME name or I make an element with a different name but same settings?
    You will not be able to have another element with the same name. So I think 2. Once I have made the element, do I just go to an employee's entries form and add it there?
    Add an element entry of the same element and give an value of -50 in Pay Value.3. And lastly where do I EXACTLY add the refund amount?

  • Error While trying to Get XML element(tag) Values

    We are trying to get XML element (TAG) value from the XML pay load.
    Example.
    Getting XML String from a web service and then converting into XML payload.
    ora:parseEscapedXML(bpws:getVariableData('signOn_Out','signOnReturn'))
    From this XML payload we are trying to get an element (Tag) value.
    We are getting following error

  • How to populate WBS element and Project definition in Additional Tab

    Hi,
    I have a 2 requirements
    1) we need to populate WBS element and Project definition of an order in PM
    IW 32 trasnaction (Additional data tab).
    2)Also i need to program settlement rules in CJ02 for WBS elements .
    How do i approach ?  when i do manually it is taking the values in IW 32 when the status is released.
    So i think first we need to chnage the Status from Created to released and then start working on step 1 and Step 2
    Kindly suggest.
    Thanks,
    Pradeep.

    Problem one solved ......
    Basically we need to put the status of WBS elememnts and then write a BDC for additional data tab.
    Looking into issue 2......
