Emagic's "ZAP" program - archived compressed audio files unable to open.

I have a number of audio files that were compressed/packed using emagic's ZAP program that I was interested in revisiting but it seems my copy of "ZAP' has run out of authorisations over the years through computer meltdowns. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Yeah, I think I have a copy on my PC, or if not, I could probably dig it out.
There was a free unpack-only version of Zap that should enable you to get at your files - though where you could locate a copy I don't know. It might have been included on Logic master disks around V4.x.... It would probably be OS9 only I guess, for the Mac version.

Adobe Audition does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key.

Adobe Audition CC does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key. It is after use audio hardware usb wi-fi headphone and return to build-it out. The program don't react now.
I see problem:
I am unable to get playback at all in CS6 on Mac. The play button or spacebar will not move the playhead or make sound come out of the foamy things with the magnets. The play button toggles back and forth between green and white, but it isn't working. This is true in both multi track and waveform view.
Anyone have ideas on what the issue could be? Thanks!

Best bet would be to go into Preferences > Audio Hardware, verify your input and output devices are correct, and probably switch your Master Clock to the opposite setting. If that fails, we can continue troubleshooting.
I have the same problem as the author writes. But these actions do not help

It gives you all of the information you need to parse the HTML file using the HTMLEditorKit that is a part of the Java SDK.
Once you get the links from the file, then you can think about connecting to each.

Compressing audio files in Macbook

I'm trying to do something new - compress audio/mp3 files to send via email or on the website. I've used the 'right click' on my mouse pad and clicked on compress file, but a 24 meg mp3 file was only taken down to 23 meg.
When I used a windows notebook I had a 3rd party software called DietMp3 which really reduced the size of the file.
Does Mac have a native program or is there a good 3rd party program to do this?
One more: Is a .wav file smaller than an .mp3?

You could re-encode the track in iTunes at a lower bit rate.
Just change the setting in iTunes preferences to a lower fate and then select the track you want to compress. No use the Create ACC version command you will find in the Advanced Menu. The file type shown (i.e. ACC or MP3) will depend on the settings you have selected.
Basically the DietMP3 software you use was just encoding the file at a lower bit rate, that is the only compression you can do.

Does anyone know if I cam compress an audio file on GarageBand for the iPad 2? I'd like to take a file 30 minutes in length and be able to email it, so I need to compress it to 5 MB or less.

only thing I can think of is "share with iTunes" and then once the file is in iTunes, compress it again there, by going to iTunes -> preferences and on the general tab, about 3/4 of the way down, click Import Settings and then set your settings to MP3 and then choose custom from the settings drop down and then choose a really low kbps bit rate. You may have to experiment, I haven't had coffee and can't do the math right now to suggest a bit rate for a 30 minute file becoming a 5MB MP3. Good luck!

Compressing Audio Files-Help please.

Will compressing the audio files held on my hard drive in itunes meen that they can still be played as normal and will it have an effect on the synchronization with my ipod.

By compressing, I assume you mean putting them in one of the standard formats, namely mp3 or AAC, but at a lower bit rate?
If that is what you mean, then the answer is yes, you can still play them as normal. You will lose some audio quality due to the sonic information lost in the compression, so don't go do it wholesale until you have tried and assured that you are happy with the results.
(If by compressing you mean something else, e.g. zipping them, then don't bother, since they will not compress much and will not be playable until you unzip them.)

Program to compress swf file?

so i have a rather large swf file that is having trouble
loading...it takes about 10-15 seconds to actually start to load so
i've come to the conclusion that i need the help of a swf
compression program but i'm wondering if anyone can give me advice
on a reliable program to use? have any of you had a similar problem
and used a good program to compress?

I don't know of any programs that compress, but I can give
you a few tips.
1) Under your publish settings, make sure that "compress
movie" is checked.
2) If you are not doing so, use 90% jpg compression on your
bitmaps, as opposed to 100% or default. It doesnt seem like a big
change, but it makes a world of difference.
3) Under publish settings > flash tab > options
section, click "generate size report". Then when you publish, you
will get a size breakdown of everything in your file and you can
easily pinpoint where the majority of your file size is coming
from. Then you can make adjustments accordingly.

8 bit / corrupted audio files on re-opening a song

See the post below. I'm having this exact problem with the latest version of Logic Pro on my intel mac. Is there a solution for this mentioned somewhere already? Please let me know soon.

"8-bit" Corrupted Audio Files On Reload?

A day after a recording session with my band the other night, I re-opened the song and recieved an error message "What kind of file is this?" and then another... something about the file being "8-bit" and unusable. This is the bass track from a very good session with my band and I'd like to try and recover it. Does anyone know how this happened, how to recover the file, and how to prevent it from happening in the future? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
More info: When opening the file in SoundHack, it says that it is a "Headerless" file. Setting the header to 24 bit linear and saving a copy results in an extremely distorted and unusable file, but you can kind of hear the recording in the background... sped up.

Hello and thanks to all for your replies. Oh and I did in fact copy somebody else's post. Sorry for the confusion.
I had a backup of the song on another disk with which I continued with my mixing. I am not worried about that particular song now. I am just worried that this might happen again.
About my sound/sample library, I just deleted the folders which had corrupted files and copied back from my backup disks.
Dropping corrupted file in a new .lso doesn't work. Haven't tried moving preferences yet but will do. I didn't have a mac before I bought an intel mac.
Can someone explain why this happened in the newest version when this was supposed to have been resolved in an earlier version? Isn't the latest version a cumulative one?
There's one other thing that also happened with me this week. I think it's related:
I had a Logic project open which was set at 96/24 and I had some audio done in it. I tried to open Reason rewired to Logic because I wanted a drum beat from Dr.Rex. Reason was set at 44/16. I tried to open some of the samples from my sound library. The files played just fine but later on when I checked, the folders which I went into looking for that drum beat got corrupted. In fact, it corrupted everything under root folder. It shouldn't have touched my samples at all, right? Why should this happen when I'm trying to just read samples or files?

.sd2 file unable to open

I received an audio file I need for a project but it is in .sd2 format. Although some websites say Quicktime, iTUNES, and Soundtrack Pro can open this file, I am unable to do so. I also tried Audacity and AudioFinder with no luck. Does anyone know how I can open this file and convert it to AIFF or WAV so I can edit it?

Have macbook pro 10.6 -macosx snow leopard what ?? windows have if any have alot of .exe files unable to open

i have a macbook pro 10.6 (2010) i think this is OSX with snow leopard, i am confused how do i figure this out iguess i dont have any windows? all of .exe files i cant open and some downloads say i am in DOS mode. Compress audio file?

I need to make my podcast file much smaller. It's now 45MB, and it needs to be about 10MB.
I changed the output to Mono in the Preferences.
I haven't found anything else helpful in the Help Viewer/Help menu.
Am I missing something? Any ideas? (any 3rd party apps?)

Ai file unable to open, crashes program...help?

Just upgraded to CC14 and have a file I created ( created in CS6 but worked in it as recent as a week ago), when trying to open it gives error message, cannot open this Illustration, when I try again, it crashes the program ( stopped working, windows will close the program)
File isn't too big, I CAN open it in Photoshop ( but need to edit vectors)
Have uninstalled and re-installed program a couple of times ( and BTW, user interface upscaling is REALLY annoying!)
Am I missing a fix? Please help!!!

For no known reason illustrator has suddenly stopped opening or creating files.
I tried to reinstall most of the CS5 package last night but I actually could't even work out how

Satyawan,
      I think the problem is that you are trying to create the file in the SAP app server and the SAP DMS storage doesn't upload file from the app server in the way you have programmed it.
I would go about it in the following way,
1. Download the contents as a text file using ws_download on to the local.
2. Build reference to this file location and upload using the BAPI FM.
The first part and the last part of your program is ok.
Try this and let me know the results,
