Email button works in preview mode but not when published to PDF

I thought I had cracked everything but - I have set preferences to email results to a specific address. In preview mode this works and outlook is opened with all the details. Once I have published to Acrobat 9 pdf - there is no response to the email button. If I play the SWF file I have the same problem. What am I doing wrong? Using Captivate 5 trial and Acrobat 9.3 Pro.

Javascript works in Designer preview mode, but not when invoked via process

I have a fragment consisting of a subform and a text object. The subform has the following Javascript for its initialize event:

The code is supposed to loop through all my input XML data's cars, see if each car has a color element, and if so, see if the color is RED. If any of the cars have a color of RED, the fragment should be visible. Otherwise, it should be hidden.
The Javascript works fine when I preview the fragment in Designer using a sample XML input file with no color element (i.e. the text in the fragment is hidden).
The Javascript works fine in my main document (which has the fragment included in it) when in preview mode in Designer.
The Javascript does not work when I invoke my process in LiveCycle server. I pass in data that has 1 car without a color element, and for some reason my fragment is visible.
Is there something wrong with my Javascript? Is this the wrong way to check to see if an XML element is present? Is something else wrong?

I guess a more appropriate question might be: How can I tell if my XML input data does or does not contain an element? Let's say I have <input> <cars> <car> <make>VW</make> </car> </cars> </input> How can I use Javascript to safely determine if the car has a <color> element?

Advance actions work while in Captivate, but not when Published

Hey,
So I have a button which is suppose to both send you to the next slide and open up a web page in a new window. While in Captivate (5.5), it works, and wonderfully. However, after I publish it...pushing the button does nothing. Any thoughts as to why?

Your Grand Kids" graphic is overlapping the left part of the navbar. Reduce the size of that graphic or move it off the navbar.

Embedded swf plays in preview mode but not when loaded onto site

I have created a swf by first creating an flv from an avi then publishing the swf in flash. I inserted into an html page and can see the video on preview. However, when I load the page and all of the assets onto the site, I get nothing.
I tried to view the swf directly, and it does not play. This may be an issue with how I converted the avi file or how I published the swf. I am starting in this forum just in case.

Yes, I did exactly what you recommended. I swapped the swf with another, loaded the page, and tested it. It worked perfectly. So, even though the original swf worked fine during the preview test, there must be something about the file that does not work when loaded on the site.
I found an article about creating and inserting a flv file from an avi...that will get me 1/2 way there so I will be trying that. Perhaps there was a step in the avi to flv process that needs fixing...and then the swf creation would work.

Works fine in debug but not when published

So I have simple navigation code setup to step through frames (I'm using Flash instead PowerPoint--too many pictures that are PSDs and illustrations that are AIs to do the conversions over to something PowerPoint understands).
The code:

Nevermind. That was stupid of me. Have to disable the keyboard shortcuts or it doesn't work.

Any idea why .swf works in "simulate download" but not when Published?

I have a project where I have a main project which loads external .swfs, and those external .swfs in turn load more external .swfs. In my main project, everything works perfectly when I preview using simulate download, but once the .swf is published it doesn't work properly. I'm assuming is has something to do with my main site Preloader, that's why I posted here. I'm pasting the code here and attaching the latest size report. Any ideas or help is appreciated!

I was checking out the bandwith profiler and saw something weird and I wondered if anyone could explain...I've added a picture. I have a blank frame on only my actions layer to export classes to and it seems that frame 2 is "bleeding" into frame 1. Could this be my problem? Why would this happen? Thanks

G4 iBook works in Safe Mode, but not in regular mode (stuck on blue screen)

14" iBook G4 1.2GHz with 1 gig of RAM.
I recently had an issue with this machine in that the image on the screen would freeze but the cursor would be able to move around. This was narrowed down to an issue with the logic board. I wanted something a little more permanent than a shim, so I sent the board in to have it reballed.
After installing the maching back into my iBook, it seemed to work fine until I applied a software update to the machine.
It was then that I got to experience the first of many kernel panics.
Restarting at different times always brought me to the dialog box which states that the machine needed to be restarted in multiple languages.
Running the Apple Hardware Test off my install disks yielded this error code: 2ATI/2/4:113-xxxxx-125
I have no idea what that means. I do know that just before I got the results of the test, the screen changed to all kinds of colors. It was only for a few seconds and then the results (with the error code) were displayed.
Still, not sure what to do next, I tried resetting the PRAM. I also tried resetting the NVRAM.
I also tried booting up into Safe Mode which actually worked. There were no issues with the machine and everything seemed to be working fine.
When I tried to restart the machine in regular mode, I'm taken to the infamous blue screen and the machine just stays there. When I let the machine stay off overnight, it booted up normal, but after applying the software update, the machine was in kernel panic again.
I've tried running fsck, but nothing changes.
I'm still not sure why it seems to work in Safe Mode but not in regular mode.
I'd appreciate any suggestions or ideas.

Hi,
A couple of the things that are disabled in safe mode are AirPort and non Apple startup items. The easiest thing for you to test is the AirPort card. Shut down and remove the AE card under the keyboard. See if it starts. If it does your AE card is bad. If not, start in safe mode and go to System Preferences>Accounts>youraccount and disable all non Apple startup (LOgin) items by clicking on them and then the minus sign. Restart normally and see if it will start.

Fixed headers while scrolling works fine in bids but not when deployed to reportserver

Since you have identified the 2 xml files are identical, according to my knowledge, there maybe a compatibility issue with IE 9 and SSRS 2008 R2, so I suggest that you could run the report in compatibility mode. Please make sure you have turned on Compatibility
View in Internet Explorer 9 by following steps:
When Internet Explorer recognizes that a webpage is not compatible, you will see the Compatibility View button on the Address bar. Try clicking it.
When Compatibility View is turned on, the button changes from an outline to a solid color when you view the page.

Load swf works in Publish Preview but not when published

Hi Folks,
I having a problem where im trying to load two 1mb SWF movies into my Flash piece. It works fine in Publish Preview but not when I finally publish. I get this error in IE:
SecurityError: Error #2000: No active security context.
I have googled around and there is some talk online of a hack where by you get a timeout to overcome this. However im not so technical do I dont really know how to do this to my code in AS3. My code at the moment is below.

Podcast - works on iTunes page but not when subscribed

Hi, I produced my podcast, submitted the feed through iTunes store and was validated. However, it happens so that people can listen to the podcast on iTunes page but not when they subscribe to it and try to download. error points to URL issues apparently. Help.

It works perfectly well for me. On subscribing I saw all three episodes and downloaded and played Episode 2 without any problems. The only explanations I can suggest are that either some of your subscribers are having some sort of technical issue at their end: or that your server is intermittently sulking and failing to respond to requests. Try playing the episode from this link a few times on spaced-out occasions and see whether you ever get a failure:

Works in preview but not when published in captivate 8?

My youtube widget used in captivate 8 works just fine in the preview, but when published there's nothing where the video should be, any idea as to why?

Hi Robert,
as far as I understand your post, you are missing some kind of "button-artwork" in the published file, but do not report a problem with the "action" that the script should perform.
My guess would be that it will be hard to help you without having a better understanding what your trying to achive and how (are you using a prebuilt component, or did you build the button fron scratch etc....)
It might be even necessary to have a look at the fla itself.

BDC works in A-mode but not in N-mode. Why?

We recently upgraded from 4.6b to ERP6. I have a BDC that fails in ERP6 so I am trying to rework it. Something odd is happening. I find that some BDCs run through find in A-mode while you're stepping through them but not in N-mode when it's hands-off.
Here's the really odd thing. I have re-recorded a BDC against tran CO01 that creates a PP work order. I take the recording and product a function. I test the function with all of the default values intact accept for the new work order# and the function runs in A-mode. It FAILs in N-mode. It appears that ERP6 cannot run it's own BDC recordings.
I notice in A-mode that there are sometimes green info messages on the status line. What I'm wondering is if these are ok in A-mode because I can hit enter and move on vs. N-mode that perhaps gets stuck on them. I say that because I have seen BDCs fail and report in the MSGTAB information messages as though this is what caused the transaction to fail.
Is there some config setting in ERP6 that tells BDCs globally not to fail because of informational status messages?

this may be an issue if you or the transaction is doing any updates on screens which may fail as call transaction by default updates in the asynchronous mode...
so try executing the call transaction in synchronous mode and then check if its giving you the same error message.
use
call transaction 'TCODE' using bdcdata mode 'N' update 'S'.

Chapters work in "Simulate" mode, but not on disk

Hello,
I have a project in DVDSP 4.1.2 which was created by someone else, then abandoned at the last minute. Some of the files were missing, so I had to recreate the main movie by re-exporting it from Final Cut Pro to Compressor, then relink it without changing any of the DVD authoring commands. The length of the files is identical to the originals, but no chapter markers were in FCP.
Everything works in simulation mode correctly, but on the burned disk, the chapter markers aren't working. I can play the main feature, and use forward arrows to jump to chapter points, however when I go to the "Scene Selection" section of the DVD and select a scene (or chapter), it doesn't work. Do I need to reset the reference movie on this section of the DVD? Any suggestions??

Check to make sure the jumps from the buttons in the scene selection are properly set (you can look at connections tab)

Upload functin works in Edit mode but not in View mode

I am using the Oracle AS 10g PDK to integrate struts application into Portal. I found the upload function works fine in portlet edit mode, but it doesn't work in view mode (Go to the "The page cannot be found" and URL is "http://servername/portal/page"). Does anybody know the reason.

HTML video works but not when publishing in MUSE

I threw this together without using MUSE - Just a test video that I made in Dreamweaver. The reason why I'm posting this in MUSE as well as DW forum is because maybe I'm not doing the "5" code correctly. anyway --:

the HTML5 video above plays great on my desktop as well as on my mobile device.
So now, I opened up MUSE and made a test phone web page. I embedded the necessary HTML5 code. The video plays fine on my desktop but will not play at all on my mobile device (Galaxy Note ii). It seems to start, then freezes, then craps out. Here it is:

What I can't understand is why am I am all of a sudden having problems with MUSE playing video files made for mobile when the original DW test I made works perfectly?
Please advise.

the OGV and WEBM files work fine in the first test. those files are also present in the 2nd test, so why isn't the 2nd playing like like the first one? as for the FLV that's something i can do for mozilla but my main concern is the playback issue with the MUSE test - all works fine in the first example but not in the second.
