Email Inconsistently sends; Tried all comcast recommended ports
Recently my comcast email stopped sending from Outlook 2013. I can email a single address, but not send a group email addresses. I have changed my pop account to imap and back (even deleted and added). I consulted a computer service who could not sort it out despite using the comcast recommended ports from the website and googling.What is going wron?. I have used the "repair" link, I always get the test message, and my message shows in sent box, but no error or rejected message comes up. Only that my group never received my message. I cc myself, I don't get it, it nevers comes to my Comcast inbox at the actual xfinity website. The messages are not in my outboxBoth of my computers accessing and sending via my comcast.net address are doing this. Sending uses the same SMTP server and port (465 SSL or 587 TLS) whether you use POP or IMAP. Don't rely on the "test" function; it's flaky. Compose and send a test message instead. Be aware that, if Comcast considers an email you send to be spam: If it's addressed to a Comcast recipient, they deliver it.If it's addresses to a non-Comcast recipient, they throw it away with no notice to you or the recipient. It's despicable, but that's what they do.Comcast Security Assurance manages this and should be able to help you figure out the problem. Call them at 1-888-565-4329 (from http://constantguard.comcast.net/dedicated-support/).
The first-line reps there are sometimes not very helpful. If so, be persistent, and keep at them until you get a satisfactory answer.

If i understand what you are saying then you are seeing the WiFi indicator after connecting but Apps are saying that they are not connected to the internet?
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be to restart your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc. -

ipod classic 160 gb. Unable to Restore. Also cannot format via C:\ right click on drive and Format. Have tried all the recommended steps I can find. No luck. Any suggestions?
do you need an internet connection to do a restore? (after downloading the software of course)
I can't get to a different connection until Friday night...
It doesn't seem like the antivirus and whatnot made any difference.
what kind of hardware problem do you think it is/would it be fixable or would I have to buy a whole new ipod?
I think the harddrive is still okay... it feels the same vibration wise now as it was when it was working fine- no awkward clicking or movements like I experienced when my old laptop's harddrive crashed. -

I tried all the recommendations on line. Can't get to the recovery mode in iTunes. My 14 year old son does not have his own Itunes, it is set up on my as it was my old phonent and has never synced iphone 4 device with iTunes. Any other ideas to help unlock his phone please? Do I just need to go to an Apple store? Thanks!

Take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar for testing, and if it is defective and under warranty they will replace. Since you say iPhone 4, was this a used or refurbished iPhone?

I have tried all of the recommended troubleshooting methods but none of them seem to work. This issue began despite no change being made to Firefox, or my computer; it just spontaneously stopped responding after launch.

Do a backup, preferably 2 seperate ones.
Revert to a Previous OS X
Revert Yosemite to Mavericks
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience. -
Issues send email from my macbook Pro, it is a web based email, and I can send it by logging into the webmail site. The odd part is that sometimes it just works and most times it does not. I go through and make some random changes and and then go back and change it back and it wold work for that email, and then a few minutes later I try to send another and does not work, try doing the same and this time it does not work, getting a little frustrated, what else can I do, except chage back to a windows based laptop?
If you're having trouble sending, but not receiving, mail, it's likely due to your outgoing (SMPT) server settings.
Which webmail service are you using? Some provide some good guidelines on setting up your account, some not so good.

Can't open, download or view PDFs - Tried all fixes recommended on this site!
I updated Firefox yesterday and now I am suddenly unable to open, download or view PDF documents on my mac. I just get a blank page in Firefox when I click on a PDF link.<br />
I tried every fix I could find on this forum and others:<br />
Disabling both the Acrobat NPAPI Plugin and the Acrobat Reader Plugin<br />
delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder to reset all file actions.<br />
installing another PDF reader plug-in<br />
Cleared download history<br />
Reset Firefox<br />
Checked status of Download Folder - no 'user set' values<br />
Reinstalled Firefox<br />
Fixed all Mac Permissions<br />
Still same thing PDF tries to open in a new tab - I just get a blank window… even when my PDF Preferences are set for the pop-up dialogue to show so I can choose whether to save, open or view.<br />
AND my Firefox preferences are set for viewing in Acrobat Pro X (this was how I had it set up before the update and had no problems - all PDFs opened in this application. (my preferred)

Hi everyone - I know I'm on borrowed time with my 10 year old Mac mini but recently after installing new Camino and most recent Flash plugin that is compatible with 10.4.11 I started to have all apps quit unexpectedly, and so far I noticed it always happens right after trying to access Screen Saver in System Preferences or when I try to play a file in iTunes. I already repaired disk permissions and used disk repair from installer CD. I'm not able to copy the reports for some reason but they all say "thread 0 crash EXC.BAD.INSTRUCTION" The iTunes crash shows " libmathCommon.Adylib" in the reports. Anyone who attempts to help will get points from me - Thanks so much!!!

You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 is for Snow Leopard onwards.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe. -

With the latest version of iTunes on Windows, the menu bars are hidden, and it sounds like yours need to be enabled before you can authorize your computer. You can follow these steps to enable the menu bars:
To keep the iTunes menus active, change the setting by selecting the Menu icon in the upper-left, and then selecting Show Menu Bar. Alternatively, you can press Control-B.
