Email line break

Hello gurus, I need to send a mail in ABAP.
The purpose is send the mail with a body that is dynamic.
I mean an object in the screen, where the user can insert information. This object will be the body of the mail.
I am using the function SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 but the format of the output table is limited to 255 characters ( SOLISTI1-LINE ).
So the text is cut in 255 characters lines.
Is there the possibility to send the content without this limitation?
Help is very appreciated!
Rewards waiting for helps
Thanks,

Hi Jorge,
Use FM  'SCMS_STRING_TO_FTEXT' to convert string to a binary table.
DATA: g_tab LIKE solix OCCURS 10 WITH HEADER LINE,
      g_str TYPE string.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_STRING_TO_FTEXT'
    EXPORTING
    text = g_str
  IMPORTING
  LENGTH =
    TABLES
     ftext_tab = g_tab.
( g_str will be a string  where the output will be concatenated and stored )
Now use FM 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1'  and pass g_tab to table parameter contents_hex.
Reward point if it helps.

  • Nokia N8 email line break problem

    So, I've only found one other post on here about this problem, with no solution.
    The problem being that when you reply to an email in a hotmail inbox on the N8. Any line breaks (created by pressing return) are ignored and the whole email is sent as one line. The only way to insert a line break seems to be to use the html tag < br/ > which is very inconvenient. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong.
    Any advice from anyone would be much appreciated.

    Let's bring this issue again to Nokia's attention. This is very annoying issue, I guess it's a bug. They have to tackle it. It's associated with their client, because if you reject Nokia terms of use, this problem disappears!

  • Why Rich Text (HTML Only) format email introduces line breaks (paragraph marks) in the email body in html?

    A sentence in rich text (change in Options, Delivery format) appears as a single sentence in browser. But when I check the page source I see that sentence has been broken in to multiple lines. Why is this done? Isn't this a bug?
    When viewed in a browser or application that supports rich text this does not create any problem since the line breaks are not taken into account . But I am trying to extract the text from this html and display in a nonHTML application like notepad.
    Is this done on purpose?
    For eg.
    In browser - Honesty is the best policy
    In View HTML Source -
    Honesty
    Is the
    best
    policy.

    lets start at the beginning.
    There is no such thing as rich text email, unless it in internal corporate stuff like MS Exchange, Lotus notes etc. EMail on the internet is HTML or Plain Text.
    I have no options > delivery format in my settings. Is this something to do with Outlook perhaps?
    Then there is your image. All those MSO objects. They stand for Microsoft Office Objects and indicate the source of the HTML as being Outlook or at least Microsoft Office. All in all I think your asking about Microsoft actions on a Mozilla forum.

  • Adding line breaks in email messages created by forms

    I've used ADDT to create a feedback form, pulling through data from a databse.
    It generates the code :
    //WriteContent method
    $emailObj->setContent("First name : {firstname}Last name : {lastname}Tel : {tel}Email : {email}Comments : {comments}Preferred method of contact : {prefer}");
    How can I add line breaks in the email message? I've tried
    tags, but no joy.
    Cheers.

    I presume you said slash n there - that was it. Cheers.

  • Line breaks in emails when using Gmail

    *The problem arises because the iPhone uses "Plain Text" to send emails.*
    *When using gmail, gmail automatically inserts line breaks in "Plain Text" emails every 78 characters, the reason why you see the breaks when unexpected.*
    *See: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?id=4d1cecc1aab102ef&hl=en*
    *To fix this problem:*
    *1. Apple can allow us to send mail with Rich Text support from iOS devices OR*
    *2. Google has to change the line breaks setting so that Plain text flows (and isn't broken) <-- this option is probably more realistic*
    *I have tried from a hotmail account, sending email as plain text doesn't have line breaks imposed like the gmail account, but rather "flows".*
    *If you want gmail to add a setting to disable line breaks in plain text emails:*
    *Suggest the feature here:*
    *http://mail.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=suggestions.cs*
    *I chose these categories:*
    *- I have another idea*
    *- Sending and receiving*
    *- - - Composing and delivery*
    *- - - - Sending options*
    *-For comments: Configure or disable plain text wrap length.*

    I am having the same problem with an IMAP/SMTP account. It was a GMail account, I switched it to using the GMail auto setup and haven't had any issues.
    But under the standard IMAP/SMTP setting almost 1/3 of all messages were showing no content.
    Though I don't recall exactly - I think most of them were sent while I was on 3G, and it otherwise works fine on WiFi.

    How can I do line break up during email writing.I couldn't find any enter option.with touch I can do only once.but I need two or three line space.

    There is no word processing type formatting in the mail app. The only formatting in the mail app is for bold, italics and underlined text.
    if you want additional spaces between lines, you just have to keep tapping the return key.

    Hello,
    What have you done (if anything) to result in the apparent fonts being used in this example?
    However, with testing, I see what you mean. The only setting that seemed to avoid this, is to use Pocket AB format, which then uses a smaller font for the email address, and appears to avoid this.

  • How to put line break in the text

    Hi guys,
    This is a simple problem.i don't know how to concat a line break while creating a text.
    I am looping through the results of a query and want to form the text using the results.
    For each row of the resultset,I want to create a new line in the text i create.
    I was wondering how to put a new line in the text.
    I thought I can concat '\n' ,but it does not work.
    the code snippet in the procedure is :

    end loop;
    Please give the solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you Mark.
    I tried your suggestion.But line break is not working in email.
    Here is how my code is
    in procedure 1 ,i create the message String as :
    for c1_rec in c1 loop
    vMsg := vMsg || ' ' || today_str || ' - ' || c1_rec.total ||
         ' Total inbound documents from : ' || c1_rec.target_value || CHR(13)||CHR10) ;
    dbms_output.put_line(' ' || vMsg);
    end loop;
    --here sending mail calling another procedure
    sendmail( '[email protected]' ,'[email protected]' , 'Test Subject ' , vMsg );
    In Procedure 2( i.e sendmail procedure )
    i am preparing email server connection from and to adresses .Then i am preparing and sending message as
    crlf VARCHAR2( 2 ):= CHR( 13 ) || CHR( 10 );
    conn:= utl_smtp.open_connection( EmailServer, Port );
         utl_smtp.helo( conn, EmailServer );
         utl_smtp.mail( conn, SENDER);
         utl_smtp.rcpt( conn, RECEIVER )
    mesg:= 'Subject: ' || SUBJECT || crlf ||
                   'Date: '||TO_CHAR( SYSDATE, 'Dy, dd Mon yyyy hh24:mi:ss' )||
                   crlf ||
                   'From:'||SENDER|| crlf ||
                   'To: '||RECEIVER || crlf ||
                   'Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1' || crlf ||
                   '' || crlf || MESSAGE ;
         utl_smtp.data( conn, mesg );
         utl_smtp.quit( conn );
    even now the mail we are getting is not having the line break.I am having line break in dbms output,but not in the mail.
    Is there any mistake how I am sending the mail.Or is there any other way we can put line break in the text
    Thank you.

  • Gmail Exchange - line break issues

    When using Exchange for push Gmail on my iPhone 4, I've noticed that any emails I sent have odd line breaks inserted into them. As I'm using the iPhone for work, any emails I send are rendered almost unintelligible. This is particularly bad as I am a professional writer. When using POP to access Gmail the text appears absolutely fine.
    How can I ensure that my emails stay in their original format and don't have line breaks inserted where I don't want them? If this is possible with POP, surely it should be possible with Exchange. Any ideas?

    The problem arises because the iPhone uses "Plain Text" to send emails.
    When using gmail, gmail automatically inserts breaks in "Plain Text" emails every 78 characters, the reason why you see the breaks when unexpected.
    See: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=4d1cecc1aab102ef&hl=en
    To fix this problem:
    1. Apple can allow us to send mail with Rich Text support from iOS devices OR
    2. Google has to change the line breaks setting so that Plain text flows (and isn't broken) <-- this option is probably more realistic
    I have tried from a hotmail account, sending email as plain text doesn't have line breaks imposed like the gmail account, but rather "flows".

  • ICS file - Line breaks

    Hi,
    I am sending an email with an ICS file as an attachment. Everything work fine, except that when the user opens the ICS file from their outlook, the text is displayed without a line break.
      CALL FUNCTION 'SO_OBJECT_SEND'
        EXPORTING
          object_hd_change = w_object_hd_change
          object_type      = 'RAW'
          owner            = sy-uname

          receivers        = receiver_list
          packing_list     = packing_list
          att_cont         = icsfile.
    The message contents came with the proper line breaks. But when I appended the same data into the ICS file, it came out without line breaks.
    Any comments?

  • ASP VBSCRIPT: for a declared string, inserting a line break every N characters

    I'm using ASP VB. I want to insert a VbCr or a VbLf into a
    declared string
    every N characters. FWIW, I want to do this because of an
    apparent
    limitation in MSXML2, which I am using to "scrape" data from
    webpages that I
    control: I'm getting spurious exclamation points (!) where
    line lengths are
    too long. Manually inserting line breaks (which do not render
    in HTML) seems
    to solve the problem. Can someone tell me how to do this?
    Put another way, I need to flesh out the following
    pseudocode:
    Dim myString, myCursorPosition, myIncrement
    myString ="The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog."
    myCurrentCursorPosition=0
    myIncrement=5 ' I want a line break for every myIncrement
    While [there are still remaining characters to walk through
    in the string
    ' navigate cursor by myIncrement through myString
    ' insert a VbLf at myCurrentCursorPosition
    myCurrentCursorPosition = myCurrentCursorPosition +
    myIncrement
    [loop]
    Thanks for any help on the syntax here.

    This is one possible solution specific to the problem I'm
    having with MSXML.
    Code is inefficient for explanatory clarity.
    BodyAsHtmlString = replace(BodyAsHtmlString, "</a>",
    ("</a>"&vbcrlf))
    BodyAsHtmlString = replace(BodyAsHtmlString, "</td>",
    ("</td>"&vbcrlf))
    BodyAsHtmlString = replace(BodyAsHtmlString,
    "</table>",
    ("</table>"&vbcrlf))
    BodyAsHtmlString = replace(BodyAsHtmlString, "</tr>",
    ("</tr>"&vbcrlf))
    BodyAsHtmlString = replace(BodyAsHtmlString, "</br>",
    ("</br>"&vbcrlf))

  • Line breaks at 72 chars in Mail.app

    Hi,
    Since 10.6.2 (Mail.app v4.2), Mail.app has been useless if you need to conform to standards on certain mailing-lists, since it doesn't break lines at 72 characters.
    The solution has been to downgrade Mail.app to v4.1 (the one coming with 10.6.1) manually after each new Snow Leopard-release.
    I'm not aware of what changes was made between v4.1 and v4.2 to break it like this, but it involves not sending 'format=flowed' (amongst other things) anymore.
    This change has to some degree been discussed here; https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3040166
    After upgrading to Lion, there is no way to downgrade Mail.app to v4.1 like before.
    Does anyone have _any_ suggestions to a way to achieve line breaks at 72 chars using Mail.app in Lion?

    I have the same problem. It also happens in notes.
    Now I created a note in Mail on my Macbook and had this problem: Backspacing a line moved it above the previous paragraph. Then I opened the same note on my Ipad, and I did not have the problem, I could simply backspace the same line and it was connected to the end of the previous paragraph. What I did see in my Ipad note however was that the two paragraphs had a different font (which was not visible on macbook, until I edited it on my Ipad). Somehow my macbook mail creates unsolicited separate paragraphs, which use different invisble fonts, and these paragraphs may not be merged.
    The same problem probably also causes email messages that I compose on my macbook to end up at the recipient in a very different font (i.e., lines/ paragraphs are larger and/or in different font.) than what I see when composing the message. This is really annoying, because it makes you look like a complete moron who is unable to compose a properly edited message.
