Email Setting Problems

I updated to iOS4 last week and had to end up doing a full reset of my Touch. I tried to set up my email account again and I'm having problems. It is an IMAP account, set up exactly as my Macbook settings are. Yet my iPod is now pulling email off the server and deleting it from the server before my Macbook can download it. I never had this issue before and I've not changed anything from how I set it up previously. The only thing I can figure is that there is a setting on the iPod now that wasn't there before that I need to set correctly. Not being particularly savvy in this area, I'm at a loss. But I've missed several important emails because my iPod is at home, downloading my email and deleting it while I'm at work! Any ideas on what to check? Thanks!

There is no option to do that if it's an IMAP account. And for some reason, IMAP the only option that will work with the server, even though my email server says it works with both. When I try to make the account a POP account, the iPod never connects to the server.
I did just find out there's an option in iTunes under info to sync email accounts, which I just tried. That seemed to work, but I'm unsure how it will work in the long run. I synced it with my personal email on my work iMac, but the music library is synced to my MacBook at home. Will that matter? I've never tried to do the email account that way before.

  • Emails setting Problems BB Curve 8310

    Hi,
I deleted all of my BB to start again fresh. But now I realize that I don't have the Email Setting Aplication so I am no longer able to configure my Email Accounts. How Can I get this application Back?
    Thanks!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your carrier for formal support.

  • Email Setting problem

    HI !
I am new at this community. I have a iPhone 4S and have configured four email accounts as POP but am receivng all mails a day late or say 24 hrs late even when I have configured as PUSH. I am using 3G and also WiFI.

What BBOS are you on please? Refer:
Article ID: KB23393 How to check the model number and version of the operating system on a BlackBerry smartphone
If you are on OS6, then this might apply:
Article ID: KB31363 Unable to open the Email Setup Application on the BlackBerry smartphone
It might also apply to other OS levels.
But, another question...has this ever worked for you? If so, what happened just before it stopped working? An update? A new app? Some configuration change? Something else? Think very carefully please as the smallest thing could be causal.
    Thanks and let us know!

  • 8520 Email Set up problems

    Hello,
I have an 8520 curve which I purchased and used in the UK with the Orange network before moving back to Canada and getting a package with Fido. Everything is working fine with it except I am unable to set up my email accounts. From the email set up in the set up wizard, as I choose next to open the set up application, a message appears telling me my device is having a problem connecting to the server. I don't know how to fix this. My BBM works fine, the browser works and the applications work so I am clearly connected to something. I am getting frustrated with not being able to access my emails from my phone. The only help I've been offered from Fido was to turn off the phone and remove the battery and turn it back on and try, which didn't work. If anyone knows how to solve this problem I would be much appreciative!!
    Cheers
    DHD

At exactly what point do you get to before you are presented with the error?
Disclaimer: I'm just a regular user like the rest of you. I have spent a lot of time learning the limitations of the Blackberries to know how to fix most problems. If I have suggested a fix, please give a kudo and mark as a solution!

3- Log in on your carrier web page, go to manage blackberry mail and resend the service books

  • Torch 9800 ''email set up icon not responding'' ... unable to edit or set up email accounts.

Torch 9800, Network provider, O2 UK.
Although my BlackBerry service with O2 is connected and working as normal, I am totally without email on my Torch 9800. I have owned the Torch 9800 since March. All has been well until last week when I changed the password on one of the 3 email accounts I had set up on my device.  This password change left one of the accounts unable to send or receive mail, and is also what lead me to discover that I could not enter email set up on my device or via my network providers website ( www.o2email.co.uk ) .
I have spent hours on the phone with O2 discussing this issue. The usual checks and procedures have been carried out, battery pulls, checking settings etc and the service books have been deleted and resent several times. These actions have not resolved the problem but instead led to the loss from my device of the other 2 email accounts which were working correctly but have now disappeared into thin air. Having tried all possible solutions with O2 I now come here looking for an answer.
When I visit my Network Providers BlackBerry mail service trying to create an account using my pin etc,  I am without fail getting a pop up box containing  the error message ''Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your devive to access BlackBerry Internet Service''  !?  The result is the same whether I log in from my device over 3G or Wireless, or from a PC (have tried several browsers) .
On my device, when I click on the Email Accounts icon from the setup menu nothing happens, no response at all. I have tried many times and there is just no way to set up or edit mail accounts. I am without mail on my device and growing increasingly short of patience.
I am now hoping somebody here can offer me some advice on how to resolve this issue. What use is a BlackBerry without email capabilities ? I see from researching email set up problems on the Torch 9800 that I am not alone here so if somebody at BlackBerry is listening ? If this is a Torch 9800 issue then I am sure you will be doing all you can to resolve this but in the meantime PLEASE help by offering a solution to the issues I have mentioned.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forums, bs342!
Well, since you searched the forums, you are undoubtedly aware that the problem you report is unfortunately a common one these days.  The good news is that RIM is definitely aware of and working on the problem.
First, let's try something on your computer.  What browser are you using?  Your problem there might just be as simple as clearing cache in your browser, then closing and reopening the browser to try the website again.
If that doesn't work, try this:
From your device's browser, go to mobile.blackberry.com. Select your country of choice, then go to Communicate>Email. Scroll down to Other Personal Email and click on Integrate Now, then Launch Email Setup. You should be able to integrate your e-mail accounts that way until RIM has fixed this issue.
Please let us know how it goes!

  • Quick email set up question

Hi All, I just got a Curve 8900 Tmobile new from ebay.  Seller said it was unlocked, but it's not.  I need to use it overseas and on ATT when in the US.
Problem is this...during set up, there is no email set up icon, and from what I think I've read, I need a data plan for that icon to show up?  Please confirm if this is true.  It's not reading any of my SIM cards obviously, so could this be the problem?  ie. once unlocked, will the email set up icon show up automatically?  And how about if the SIM I put in doesn't have a data plan?  (It's just charged per kb)
Any helpful info is appreciated, thanks!

  • Configuring Work Email Address Problems

    Hi,
Forgive me if this has been posted (I trawled google but to no avail). I'm having problems setting up my work email on the BB Curve 8520, while my hotmail address set up fine. My boss has his work email set up on his, just by typing email and the password.
The email, password, mail server etc are all correct yet it continually tells me its invalid and sends the following email to the account:
"Your attempt to configure the BlackBerry Internet Service to deliver mail to your BlackBerry device from this email account was unsuccessful. This email provides instructions to help with the email account set up." etc
I rang Orange (UK) but they weren't particularly helpful, basically telling me to use the Blackberry Internet Service (which I've done over 10 times!) Has anyone else had this problem? How was it resolved?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Via the on-device BIS interface, I've never been successful at configuring an OWA email account (I am assuming you are using OWA...you only said "work email", leaving us to guess what it is. If I have guessed wrongly, stop now and tell us what it is.) Only via the carrier BIS website (from PC/Browser) have I been successful. You can find your's here:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F
Next, use this KB for configuration. Be very very careful with the settings...they are tricky. Especially the Mailbox Name. The last time I did one, it took me like 6 tries of different combinations to come across the correct settings. Don't try something you've tried before...if it did not work once, it is unlikely that it'll work another time.
You could also look at your bosses settings to see what worked in that case.
When all else fails, contact your carrier and see if they can configure it for you.
Good luck and let us know!

  • E72 and Nokia email Major problem

Oh Nokia what have you done. I was using the Nokia email from nokia.email.com and in there I had my yahoo.com email account. You now longer let the yahoo.com address work inside the Nokia email.
So now I had to manually add my yahoo.com email address into the E72, but everytime the phone checks for email, it takes up so much of the phone cpu power all else locks up. Even has dropped my phone call as the whole phone went into a CPU bound state...
Nokia give me back my yahoo.com email in my nokia.email.com account. Let us add them back in. What have you done. You have basically killed anyone from using a Nokia E72 and yahoo.com email address.

As for whether Yahoo is a paid service for pop email or not is not a debate here. If you are a Verizon FIOS or Comcast internet customer in the USA, you get the POP email of Yahoo free. I am one of these so it is free.
But the fact remains. I used to use the Nokia email message service and had YAHOO as one of my email accounts. It picked up my yahoo.com email for over one year with very few issues. Onfe in a while I would have to restart the phone. Then last week it suddenly stopped.
I called customer servuice and they told me that Nokia email service no longer would work as I had it, to delete the yahoo account and re-add it.
When you re-add yahoo.com email address, it forces an IMAP setup (although I can tell you how to make the Yahoo pop work as I was able to override and trick the phone). As soon as you typ in any address @yahoo.com, it forces you to their IMAP setup within the Nokia E72.
So in IMAP setup of yahoo.com email on my main Ey2  screen I have my yahoo.com email account dstatus displayed. It simply says YAHOO MAIL and in parenthesis the number of unread messages. so mine right now says Yahoo Mail (23)
I have the phone set to check for email every 5 minutes... Pick up UPTO the last 100 messages and also pickup upto 500kb of email data (the old Nokia email message service way it would ask you HOW MANY WEEKS to go back and it would pick up most all email except not download attachments)
When the phone checks. it deletes MOST every (NOT EVERY) message in the yahoo inbox. If you are wtaching the main screen, you see the "23" for the amount of unread go all the way down to 1 (never to zero I dont thing) and then count back up to either 23 or if new email is there, it will go higher.
If you are in the yahoo inbox, you see the emails disappear and then re-appear as it deletes and re-synces all the email
Now if you are unlicky to be on the cell phone during call when it does this re-sync, it take so much CPU, that soemtimes I drop, but if I am in the middle of talking, I "zap" out for a second or two and the other person is wondering what happened if I am in the middle of a sentence. Onc again the phone seems to be CPU bound and all else stops working exceopt the retrieval of that email.
So MOST of the time when the phone is checking the yahoo account, it takes up so much CPU that the phone is basically unresponsive.
I seem not to be the only one who is having issues with a Nomkia hone and Yahoo.com
LOOK  here there are at least 2 others..

NOKIA's own support people told me that the NOKIA email program changed.  Yes it changed and now people are having issues with YAHOO.COM email.
Nopw if you would lik to knopw how to setup YAHOO.COM on a pop.. simply\
create ANY other POP account. It can be real or phoney. Then go back in and simply change the settings for yahoo.
    they are simple
user name / login:  email address w/o the yahoo.com.
    pop: pop.mail.yahoo.com
    smtp:: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
password: hey its your password. dont ask me
    email adress: full [email protected]
this seems to work. it does not kill the phone. It does not re-do all he email every time.
There is something about imap and yahoo.com email that you have messed up here and alot of us are seeing it.
    NOKIA what have you done?
All I want back is what I had just over a week ago. Once of the best phones in the world, fully working with my eMail...

I am a new BB user and I am having problems with email set up:

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
If you used the automated wizard, then it's possible that the server didn't respond with the correct settings, and they are now not quite correct. You can try the EAVT to see if you can find the correct settings:
Article ID: KB33444 How to use the Email Account Validation Tool (EAVT)
Or you can ask the email system admin for the correct settings. Once you have them, you can double check if what is configured to your BB is correct...and make the necessary corrections if they are not. If that doesn't work, then I'd advise removing and reintegrating the account, but use the Advanced/Manual configuration method using the settings you have received as valid.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Lumia 520 email account problem

Have set up email account exactly as per information in the Microsoft Outlook on my PC. Also have followed instructions as per Windows Phone on web. My account is POP from an ISP and I have manually entered the settings as per 'Advanced'. I have a different ISP for outgoing mail and incoming mail. In Microsoft Outlook on my PC a common password is accepted for both incoming and outgoing mail.
My problem is that I can receive emails but cannot send them. This suggests that the outgoing connection is not working from my mobile. I get an error message 80072F30 from my provider, saying messages cannot be sent and suggesting that my account details are not correct.  Any help appreciated. This phone is totally new to me.

  • Pre not respecting 'Show email' setting properly

In the setting for my mail accounts, I have 'Show email' set to seven days for Hotmail (POP) and Gmail (IMAP).  This seems to be working fine for Hotmail in that older emails were never downloaded and as emails age, they no longer appear on my Pre.  With Gmail, older emails didn't download when I first synced but emails that have arrived since then are still on my Pre despite being older than 7 days.  One other difference: For Gmail, I have 'Get email' set to 'As items arrive' (IMAP IDLE) whereas for Hotmail, I have that set to 30 mins.
Pressing the sync button when viewing the Gmail Inbox does not fix this problem.

I'm having this problem now as well. There are two possible changes recently that could have caused this, although unfortunately I'm not sure how long the problem has been going on, so its hard to nail down:
I switched "All Inboxes" off (so I could see inbox notifications seperately), then back on after a few weeks.  I also tried using the Get Email setting of "As emails arrive", then moved it back to once every hour.
Again, no idea if either of those started the problem, but I do know that none of my inboxes are clearing out emails older than their respective "Show email" settings.  This has held true even after changing the Show Email setting, forcing a refresh by hitting the rotating arrows icon, etc.
Thoughts?  The only suggestion I've seen so far is to delete and readd the account.  That could be ok, but I have eight accounts on my Pre, and reloading all of them would take a while.
Also, if I delete an account (especially an exchange account or a gmail account) will that also take my associated contacts/calendar with it?
    Thanks anyone for the help!

You don't need to start a new thread to continue a conversation, you can just tack onto the original one. The settings I referred you to are for the Blackberry, since that's the device which is not receiving mail: anything which is working can be left alone.
