Emails send before I hit send button

Since downloading Mountain Lion, sometimes my emails get sent before I have a chance to finish them and I have not hit the send button. Right in the middle of a sentence, zooom, the email is gone. What's with that?
Rose

Could you have accidentally hit the keyboard shortcut for sending a message? In previous versions it was Cmd-E, if I remember correctly - I did accidentally send some messages, because I pressed this when I meant Alt-E (for entering and accented character).
In Mountain Lion, this keyboard shortcut is now Cmd-Shift-D, which may be less likely to be used accidentally, but still possible.

• Apple Mail Automatically Sending Emails Before I Hit Send

Hi
I'm having a recurring problem with Apple Mail where emails are being sent by the program before I hit send, so addressee's are receiving half written/finished emails.
I have sync'd 2 x gmail accounts to my Apple Mail, and the same problem happens with each account. Does anyone know what to do to fix this as it's highly annoying!
Thanks

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
"I'm having the exact same problem and it's driving me insane. Have you been able to solve it yet?"
Why you reply to yourself?
Anyway, you may want to look at it.

• I think I screwed up my migration. I turned off the sub-accounts on my Mobile Me Family Pack before I hit the button to move my account. Now it seems I have delete all of my family's email accounts. Can they be re-activated/retrieved?

I think I screwed up my migration. I turned off the sub-accounts on my Mobile Me Family Pack before I hit the button to move my account. Now it seems I have deleted all of my family's email accounts. Can they be re-activated/retrieved? The instructions at that point were vague to non-existent.

I'm tryin to move my account to iCloud too and I have sub accounts. I deleted a couple of the sub accounts and found that one of them (didn't try the other one) couldn't login anymore. I haven't moved to iCloud yet and I was able to re-establish the sub account. I had another go at moving to iCloud and noticed that I may not need to delete the sub accounts, it just warns that I won't be able to add or delete them after moving to iCloud. Maybe that is the way to go. Move the main account to iCloud without deleting the sub accounts?? Maybe this will leave the sub account owners able to move in their own time.
I don't know if you can fix what you have done if you have already moved to iCloud with your main account. Might be time for you visit the local Genius Bar or call Apple support.
I may try a visit to my local Genius Bar over the weekend if I can make an appointment ;-)

• Can I edit an Adobe Acrobat .pdf attachment in Mac Mail before I hit send?

I have numerous .pdf approval sheets that I attach to a client’s ad in order for each client to approve, sign and fax back to me. I have many different .pdfs made up with only different counties the client will advertise in already in the .pdf. Now the publisher wants the name of each client to appear on each sheet (I have 130 clients). Is there a way of editing the text (to add client name) in .pdf attachment before hitting send in Mac Mail? I don’t want to have to redo so many different .pdf approval sheets each time in order to keep changing just client’s name on the .pdf.
Thanks,
Mickie
Here’s what the body looks like:

You can only edit PDF file in PDF editor, If you are using Adobe Acrobat PDF editor then follow this video tutorial to know how to edit PDF file?

• Created 1 hr email this am. Hit send...frozen for an hour. Where,s Ctrl /alt/delete in Mac??

Need help, their tech support not open yet.....

Also, If you can do it, go to the apple symbol at the top menu, go to force quit, and quit whatever you need. Sometimes a frozen screen has a cursor that will respond to the top menu.
Another option, which I have to rarely use, is to use press in and hold the power button until the computer shuts down.
I have found restart almost always corrects problems, though I have had weird emails just corrupt everything until I found where it was and was able to delete it totally.

• Why cant send imessage without hitting "send" using blue tooth keyboard?

its quite annoying when you type with a blue tooth keyboard sending imessage you have to hit the "send" button on the screen all the way across instead of hitting the "enter" key on the keyboard
is there any option we can choose from the system??

Sherry-
I do not think there is a way around it. But try pressing the Tab key several times until the Send button lights up. If that works, pressing Return on the keyboard should be equivalent to hitting the Send button on the screen.
If that does not work, try each of the function keys along the top of the keyboard, in case one of them has been pre-programmed to Send a message. You may have to hold down the fn key (bottom left).
You might look into using the "Assistive Touch" feature at Settings-General-Accessibility-Assistive Touch. I do not know what it does, but it mentions having difficulty touching the screen.

• Before I hit the button for a clean SL install

In addition to my OS X drive, a second internal drive is my Time Machine partition. To overcome recurring performance issues that have followed me through several upgrades through 10.5.x, and then through 10.6, 10.6.1 and 10.6.2, I plan to make a 'clean install' of Snow Leopard.
I am planning to:
1. Boot off my SL DVD (not purchased with my computer).
2. Erase my OS X drive.
3. Install SL.
4. Select an option that I understand will be offered to me in my first run of SL that will enable me to transfer my settings, applications and documents etc from Time Machine to the newly cleaned OS X partition.
5. Upgrade 10.6 to 10.6.2.
Before I start this process, can someone please confirm my logic and expectations are sound?

What you are proposing could work, unless some of the problems are actually in the User account you propose to import.
Have you already tested the user account by setting up a new temporary admin user account and seeing if the problems continue?
If I were having serious issues with several different versions of an OS, I'd like to think that everything else is fresh also. I'd reinstall every application and just import my data files. But then I don't know what applications and versions you are running or what kind of problems you are trying to fix.

I've resolved my problem now. It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos. Can't believe I missed that before.

• Sending Emails -- Ask Before Sending

Hi,
From time to time, I find myself unintentionally sending emails which were not supposed to be send... It happens specfically while replying to an email, I somewhat unintentionally hit the send button (blame my thick fingers)and boom the email is sent Is anybody familiar with an "ask beofre sending" like functionality (as it is with "ask before deleting")or any other idea which is relevant ?
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan

Sorry but thats not a feature of the phone.
You are welcome to suggest it to Apple here http://www.apple.com/feedback/

• ICloud email won't send (it tries to send and then freezes, send button grayed out)

I can recieve email just fine. I can draft an email just fine. But it won't send. When I hit the send button, the email window goes away and a message box appears and disappears so fast I can't read it. The email window reapears with the "send" button grayed out. Once this happens, I can't close the email window. I have to quit mail. When I open mail back up, the email will still be there and I can close it. The send button is no longer grayed out, but if I hit send, the same thing happens (i.e., screen flashes and the send button is grayed out).
I've tried deleting the acouunt and reforming it. Didn't help. I checked to see that my outgoing server is "iCloud" and that it send on port 993 and the SSL check box is checked.
Any ideas?

I'm having the exact same problem on one of my Macs but no the other.
Did you ever get this resolved?

• Suddenly Firefox is crashing just as I hit send on an email...losing everything I've written! I hate IE, too. So what's the best browser?

Suddenly Firefox is crashing just as I hit send on an email...losing everything I've written! I hate IE, too. So what's the best browser?

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:
*bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the Report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).
*Click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.
If necessary then you can open about: pages via the location/address bar.

• I cannot email photos from within iPhoto (v. 9.5.1). When I hit send I get a message: "Your email did not go through because the server did not reply." This happens for both my iCloud account and my Shaw account. What to do???

I cannot email photos from within iPhoto (v. 9.5.1). When I hit send I get a message: "Your email did not go through because the server did not reply." This happens for both my iCloud account and my Shaw account. What to do???

Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts? If so:
1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane. This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary.

• What is the expected behavior in iOS 7 when hitting send on an email with no wifi or cell connection being present?

What is the expected behavior in iOS 7.x when hitting send on an email with no wifi or cell connection being present? Also is the behavior designed to be any different if the user intiates airplane mode ahead of time?
We have a couple of users that claim in this situation the email will act like it sent in which they expect it will go out once a network connection is restored. They then come to find the recipient never recieved it and that it does not show in sent email. Its merely lost and they claim its also not in drafts.
I would hope the expected behavior would be that it would either retry sending once network connectivity is restored or at least warn that it needs to be saved as a draft since no connection is present.

It should show "X unsent messages" at the bottom of the mail app.
It also should create an outbox where the unsent emails will queue up, but this could also vary on the email provider.
Once you re connect to a network, it should just send the messages
