Emails using clients server?

Is there anyway to send emails from our website using the clients email server or email client? There has to be a way....any ideas? Thanks in advance!

It has no knowlege of the surfer's email account settings, etc unless
they are PASSED to the server by the client.
/quote
That's what I said. The server, username and password need to be
provided by the client for this to work.
I'm reading this question like this: "My client wants CF to use the
same e-mail server that my client is using to submit his e-mail." (Why
would he want that ? I don't know.) I'm very well aware of the issues
that you mentioned and I wasn't suggesting simply visiting a page is
enough to automatically send an e-mail using the customer's e-mail
settings.

But i didn't receive any mail.
then i check the report job id. It was showing job was successful .
And i check whether the test.xml file was created or not. It has created the test.xml file as below:

to="&P_SEND"

<include src="mainSection"/>
</attach>
</foreach>
</mail>
</destinations>
I have 2 machines having dev 10g. one machine is working fine with this code. but in my machine it was not working.
Do any one of you had a solution for my case.

client.close();
catch(Exception e)
System.out.println(e);
WHEN THE CODE IS EXECUTED(CLIENT.java ON 1 PC & SERVER.java on other) IT GIVES FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
java.net.UnknownHostException: serverpcname: serverpcname
PLZ. GUIDE ME.
THANKS IN ADVANCE.

For a server to be accessible on the inetrnet it needs to have an externally visible IP address. For example, an address which starts with 192.168.1 is for internal use only can only be used by other machines on the same internal network. The server's firewall needs to allow the port you are using access and the client has to be able to lookup up the IP address either using the hosts file or via a DNS service. None of these things have anything to do with Java programming, so if you have any more questions I sugegst you try googling them or ask a forum which relates to these issues.
The connection time out is due to the fact that there is no way to contact an inetrnal address over the inetrnet. The host unknwown means you haven't configured your PC to lookup that address. i.e. the host is unknown.

• Failure to send email using gmail server

I am using gmail account and I use thunderbird to download all the emails and to compose my emails. Now I'm trying to write a java application that will send out emails. Since I'm still in school I am using gmail account for the class project.
One t hing I noticed is that in my thunderbird I use secure connection using TLS. How should I incorporate that here in the java code. Is that why I'm getting the exception. Anyone knows any other smtp server using which I could submit my assignment.

• Servlet in client/server application?

hi,
I am planing to make a client server application( SWING & an OODB), would it be clever to use servlet ( not httpservlet) as midle tier framework?
If yes , what are the benefits?
Thanks.

thanks for responding
actually my client don't wanna run a separate server application on the hosting machine as it costs too much, so thats why i think there is no other way to achieve the task rather than using servlets.
please do help me or atleast give me a suggestion. actually i'm developing an internet messenger application. i have developed it using client/server application model in which both (the swing client and the server) uses java sockets to communicate with each other. but now i want to develop the server side of the messenger as servlets. but as far as i know the servlets follow the request/response model. if i follow that model i have to use some sort of client pull after certain amount of time say after five or ten seconds, and this approach does not fulfill my requirements as it would slow the performance if there are hundreds of clients calling the servlet every 5 seconds. thus i want to create persisted connections between the client and the servlet which last for the life time of the user's session. also it is important for the data integrity of the application, so please help me in this matter as i have no other source of guidence in this meany world. i hope you will certainely help me in this matter. please mention that if there are any drawbacks of my approach i mean the persisted connections.
thanks you a lot

• Bluetooth client server VIs

Hii all,
I am developing bluetooth application using labview bluetooth vis.
I have my bluetooth enabled PC using bluetooth dongle. Now I want to send some data, say a string Hello from my PC to a Nokia mobile 2700 series. Is it possible?
If Yes , in such case
1) What will be my client and what will be the server? as I intend to use client/server VIs provided in labview example finder . What is the exact difference between client and server in bluetooth domain?
2) Can I run both the VIs on same PC?
3) Simple Client VI uses "Bluetooth Open connection" VI ...so which address do I need to provide there ..is it PC's bluetooth address or Nokia's bluetooth address?
4) Simple Server VI uses "Create Listener" VI who asks for UUID...which UUID needs to be provided..is it PC's or Mobile's bluetooth?
Please do the needful.
Best Regards

In looking at some of the documentation, it appears that the driver required for using Bluetooth with LabVIEW is very specific. You need to have the Microsoft Bluetooth driver - not the driver that comes with the Bluetooth device. Also try lowing your security settings, or removing them.

• Client/Server VLAN usage - ACE Module

Is it a condition to use client/server VLAN definition only for VIP hits or can it also be used to pass normal traffic for e.g. passing traffic to the server directly on its actual IP (not VIP).
Regards.

No vip restrictions.
With appropriate ACLs you can use ACE to route traffic between different vlans.

• SENDING EMAIL USING ORACLE9i CLIENT/SERVER

I HAVE DOWNLOADED 2 UTILITY LIBRARIES D2KCOMN and D2KWUTIL TO MY COMPUTER. THESE 2 LIBRARIES ARE COPIED TO AN ORACLE FORM. ON THE FORM, THERS IS A BUTTON. IN THE WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED-TRIGGER, I HAVE CODED
WIN_API_SHELL.WINEXEC('"C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT OFFICE\OFFICE\OUTLOOK.EXE"-c IPM.Note/m"'||:email.recipient_name||'&cc='||
:email.recipient_name2||'&subject='||:email.subject||
'&body='||:email.mes||'"',WIN_API.SW_SHOWNORMAL,TRUE);
:email.recipient_name,
:email.recipient_nam2,
:email.subject, and
:email.mess
ARE FIELDS ON THE ORACLE FORM.
THE NAMES ARE DEFINED BY THE PROGRAMMER.
THE NAMES OF THE FIELDS ARE NOT RESERVED WORDS.
WHEN THE CODE IS EXECUTED, MICROSOFT OUTLOOK IS OPENED AND THE RECIPIENT LINE, COURTESY COPY LINE, SUBJECT LINE
AND BODY OF A NEW MESSAGE ARE PREPOPUTATED WITH THESE FIELDS FROM AN ORACLE FORM.
THIS ROUTINE WORKS FINE ON AN ORACLE6i CLIENT SERVER BUT IT WILL NOT WORK WELL ON AN ORACLE9i CLIENT SERVER.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO CHANGE MY CODE? DO I NEED TO USE NEW UTILITY LIBRARIES? I WOULD SURE LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Oracle9i Forms does not support client server - so you are running in a different environment (even though you may still only be onl two tiers).

• "cannot send email message using the server icloud" on 10.6.8

I use mail from my desktop, not from iCloud on the Internet. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. My mail was working fine until yesterday.
It says "Cannot send message using the server iCloud. connections to the server smtp.me.com on the default ports timed out. Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below.
The list has:
ICloud offline
and Icloud
Neither of them work.
What has Apple changed regarding this in September?
(I know others have posted similar message, but they were on 10.7)

Same problem here.
Recently an @icloud.com version (alias) of my existing @me.com email address appeared on my account. I can still send messages form the OSX build in Mail client as long as I am using the @me.com version of my email, but I do get this message when I try to use the new @icloud.com account.
My account with iCloud states that both @me.com and @icloud.com versions of my email are active.
Would be nice to know if this is a temporary problem of if this is a permanent one.
The settings on the outgoing mail server are default as retrieved from apple when I configured the @me.com email for the first time. I went through the troubleshooting suggestions as provided on Apple website, double checking all the settings, no joy. At the very list I can still use the old @me.com alias with no problem (for now)

• Can't Login to Netware 4 server using Client 3.4

Hi,
I have a small network with a dedicated server and two workstations
connected using a linksys switch. The dedicated server is running
netware 4.x (an old character based netware system). Both workstations
have Windows 98 and log in to the server using Novell Intranetware 4.11
software for Windows 95, which is several years old. Recently, I added a
workstation and downloaded client 3.4 to use to access the server rather
than install the Intranetware. It turns out that I can't get this
workstation to log into the server using client 3.4. I get the login
screen, but it reports it can't find a server or tree, even though I
entered them correctly. Does anybody know why it won't access the server
while the other workstations can?
Thanks very much.

It is a method for packaging data for transmital over IPX.
>Where do I find out what frame type the computers have?
At the console enter the command CONFIG. The displayed output will
include the frame type. On the workstation, go into the Control
Panel, Network, and find the NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBios Compatible
Transport Protocol, and open its properties. Set the frame type to
match the server. If more than one frame type was displayed on the
server, use 808.2 if it is listed.

These option are for the Microsoft client for NetWare, which is not
aware of NDS. Install the Novell Client for NetWare. Choose Custom
install, IPX only.

• Help with email delivery from server to client

I would appreciate some help / insite into forwarding email from my home server to my Arch client.
Initially I setup Getmail on the Arch client, can download POP3 email to my home directory, and then read it using Kmail via the Maildir format.
This works great and was easy to implement. However, I wanted to get a little more 'advanced' so getmail was setup on the server and can download email no problem. But what I have not been able to figure out yet is how to forward it to my home directory on the Arch client.
I have googled and read the wiki and it seems like a MDA is needed to do this. Is this correct?
Or, can I direct Kmail to look at some directory on the server (/var/spool/mail??) and grab the mail from there?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JTD

Endperform wrote:Are you looking to keep your email on the server at all times? If so, I suggest looking into setting up IMAP on your home server which will do what you need.
Endperform: yes that is the plan. Do still keep getmail to fetch the pop3 email from my ISP and the setup IMAP so 'forward' onto the Arch client?
Thanks for the reply.
pyther wrote:I'd have to second what endperform said, if you want to keep you mail on your server at all times, just check out IMAP. Also you can organize your mail in folders with imap
pyther: Thanks for confirming what I've googled.
