    Hi Sadhir,
    I've been looking for similar application for some time and finally decided to create my own. Here are few guidelines:
    - I've created my own users table with attributes I have interest.
    - Because we have Active Directory the best option was to load users periodically from there into my application. I'm using DBMS_LDAP package and developed my function to load users into temp table and then make a decision whether the user has left or it's a new user.
    - Created admin page where administrator could edit user details.
    - Respectively the best option for authentication was to use again Active Directory.
    - I've created my own Report template where I have business card like web page.
    - Just like Aria I created page to search users with their names or phones. Once I select the user I'm looking for, his details are shown on the above report (business card like).
    Pretty much this is it. Another thing is that Aria was using APEX 3.2, current version is APEX 4.1 and soon we will see 4.2. So it's much better to create your own application with latest APEX version and technologies.

  • Understand "Department Script" in Employee Directory [Adobe AIR app]

    Ok, I ve been bashing my head around for long enough with this simple issue... I hope to find enough info to make good use of a great button in ED.
    The Department link. When viewing an employee's information in ED you can click the employee's department name and will be taken to a new panel that display all other employees in the same department. Wow, I like it....
    As much as it is good to see who else is in a department I wish I could simply use this as a static list because if I don't know the name of the employee in a specific department... well I just can't get there or take advantage of that list....
    So I went, as usual, and though I could just re-use the same script and create a static list...but, as usual, The app is way to tightly knot together that I can't seem to knock out it's relation to the employee....
    I though I would have to go back and find where it starts [IE-    dataProvider="{ department.employeees }"]   and use the dataProvider to populate my new list (in this case a datagrid)....
    Well it doesn't work, and my knowledge is too weak to figure it out as I still struggle with the syntax and it's meaning.... I think I am getting confused mostly by the  [    change="displayEmployee (event.target.selectedItem as Emlpoyee)     ] any part of script related to that change employee thingy just put out and I feel that must be the part that's linking the info to the employee at hand.
    I am out of ideas?!
    where the only way to trigger the department panel list is to open a employee from that department first...
    Here's what i am trying to do....
    Instead of clicking on the department link in the employee bio...i want to click on a button that would open a panel with a static list that never change, like the one i added at the bottom of the screenshot.

  • Can't pull Office field from search template driven employee directory in 365

    I'm setting up a search driven employee directory. The issue is that the office field won't come in. The ManagedPropertyMapping tag includes "OfficeNumber" but for some reason the ctx.CurrentItem won't pull back that particular field. I can do a search
    for "OfficeNumber: Vinings" for instance and it works correctly. I've spent hours trying to sort this out and I'm getting no where. Does anyone have any ideas?

    $getItemValue(ctx,"Office").value should pull back the value according to your template. If you added the mapping yourself (as I don't recall if it's a default one or not) you have to create a new result type to hook up your custom display template

  • Employee Directory Help

    Hi Everyone,
    I was just wondering if anyone would be able to help me. I am trying to alter the Employee Directory so that i can add some new fields that i want, and also be able to add and remove data from the application itself, even if this means changing the way that the data is stored. It is preferable that the data would be stored within the application or a file close by however if it would be easier in the long run to have the application connect to SQL in order to get the data and add more data than im willing for this as well. Is there anyone who can help me do this, please??

    If you will eventually hand off the backend to someone else that's fine, but if not, I guess as a start you should start learning PHP and how to use it with Flex HTTPService.

  • Flex Builder 3 and Employee Directory Sample App

    Ok, please be paitent with me.  Just starting out with Flex Builder 3 and Flash Builder 4.
    I have installed Flex Builder 3 and imported the Employee Directory application sample, but I cannot get it to run, nor debug.
    I'm on a Mac Pro and I have not done any other configuration to the Flex Builder 3 installation, yet.
    In order to get the Employee Directory app to run, can someone give me some assistance as to what I need to do in order to get it running within the development environment.
    Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    No errors, it just will not run.
    I loaded the employeedirectory.mxml into the editor and simply tried to run it.  The Eclipse editor / employeedirectory canvas blinks, but doesn't execute.
    In addition, when I set a breakpoint and try to debug, I get the following error:
    Process terminated without establishing connection to debugger.

    Update:  I created a blank application with no control, notta and it ran fine, i.e. loaded up into Firefox with a blank canvas.

  • Need to create a searchable employee directory in Muse.  How can I do this using Business Catalyst?

    I have been tasked with updating our firm website, and have no prior web design experience.  Muse seems like a great option, but I understand that Muse has no database capabilities.  I was advised that I could find a way to incorporate a searchable employee directory (database) via Business Catalyst.     Would you mind taking a look at the attorney directory, and confirming that the BC Meet the Team will allow me to create essentially the same sort of directory, with search fields, photos and cv?  I'm sure it will, but I just need confirmation before I go too much further down the design path.
    Right now I am just on trial Adobe Creative Cloud membership, so I was able to download and experiment with Muse.  I believe the cost to continue this would be about $15/month.  If I join Business Catalyst with eCommerce membership, would that be in addition to the Adobe Creative Cloud membership?  I'm going to need to give a proposal to my partners, and I want to make sure I am accurately stating the monthly costs.  We currently have our own in-house server, and I want to be able to rationalize moving away from that.

    The only way to skip the application login (username/password) is by implementing SSO.

  • My boss wants to be able to use his phone as an employee directory, any ideas on best route

    Something he could also access on his iPad and Mac computer would be the best. He's looking for a way to look up and recognize his staff of over 300.

    I would use Address Book and create a new group labled either "Work" or "Employee List"
    I'd like to think he can use a spreadsheet to import contact data but I am not sure on this part.

  • Why Is Adobe employee Directory don't display picture properly?

    I've been wondering about that for a while, and did think that it was because the picture were resized by the APP, but they are not....it seems that the rendeering process is saving the photos all jagged?!
    That's ED out of the box... it give all employee a lazy eye...what's the deal with that?

    We have encountered this issue as well, not just with Captivate 4 but with Adobe Presenter 7.0.7 as well.
    With Captivate 4, we have found that content published as AS3 and AICC will hang on the 'Initializing LMS...' page when launched from our SumTotal LMS (TotalLMS v8.2) if that content is located on a remote content server.  It will, however, launch properly and track correctly when the content is installed on a content server that is on the same domain as (and thus local to) the LMS itself.
    With Presenter 7.0.7 (which only publishes to AS3--there is no option for AS2), we have found that content published as AICC will take an excessive amount of time to load when launched from our SumTotal LMS and will not track correctly if that content is located on a remote content server.  It will, however, launch properly and track correctly when the content is installed on a content server that is on the same domain as the LMS itself.
    So, a common theme here is AS3.  We did try publishing a C4 test sample to different Flash Player versions as AS2, and it appears there is no issue there.  It's when we publish to AS3 as AICC and install on a remote content server that issues start cropping up.
    My gut is telling me that this is a crossdomain policy issue.  Would love for Adobe to investigate and offer a solution soon.

  • ARIA Employee Directory -How to Print Multiple Direct Report On a page

    This question goes out to the experts. If we have person that has 10,15 or a large number of direct reports how can we print them on to a page so that they all fit. I am okay if they fall to another line just need to get them all on one page rather than multiple because they fall outside the print parameters?

    Maybe. Keep in mind HTML was never made for print. It's quite possibly the worst medium you could choose for print. You won't be able to establish page breaks or even draw consistent boxes. In short, I estimate the probability of success in creating an org chart with an HTML template to be somewhere around 1%. I just don't want to see you spend an absurd number of hours trying to build something that's really not possible.
    With that said, here are a few options to consider:
    - Microsoft Word and Visio both have Org Chart functionality, though I'm not sure if you can populate it with data from a database. This would be an offline solution wherein one of the developers would, on a periodic basis, generate a new version of the org chart, export it to PDF, then post it as a static file.
    - Oracle BI Publisher supports Word shapes for templates, including Org Charts per this documentation:

    though I think it might take effort to get the template to work. At least the output medium (PDF or RTF) is made for print.
    - GraphViz (http://www.graphviz.org) is the most promising online solution I can think of. It's a command-line tool, so you would need to
    -- generate the data in a file and output that to the file system of the database server (UTL_FILE)
    -- call the command-line utility via a dbms_scheduler job, since you need call an OS utility from inside the database
    -- provide a link to the output of graphviz.

    As far as Oracle HCM is concerned, there is no diagramatic representation for "Supervisor Hierarchy" as u can see the same for Position and Oraganization..
    The only way to find is backend .. check with your techies for the same..

  • Active employee list

    What is the best way to create an employee directory in Sharepoint 2010 that would display a list of all active employees and also have the ability to:
    - display the photo of each employee
    - allow creation of "views" of the list, e.g. only show employees for a specific department or a specific office location
    - allow the ability to sort the list by one of the columns
    - allow the ability to group employees by a specific field (e.g. show all employees but group them by department)
    I've seen some posts about using the User Information List but I don't like this idea since some active employees who have never logged in to the site will not be in that list.  On the other hand, since our User Profile service synchronizes with Active
    Directory, I know it has the most up to date list of all active employees.  So it seem like the People Core Search Results web part would be the way to go.  But I don't think it supports creating views, grouping etc.
    We are looking for a no-code solution.

    Just fyi, I ended up using People Core Results webpart to display columns from user profiles.  Then used the refinement panel to provide grouping by Office and Department.  The only thing I have not been able to achieve yet is sorting by last
    name.  I've found some solutions for editing xlt to provide sorting but these solutions sort on a per-page basis, not the whole list.  Anyway, right now we have a fully implemented employee directory sorted by first name and this is sufficient.
