Hi,
I am trying to create rdlc file programmatically. Using Memory Table as dataset. Here is my code

Thanks for your feed back. I could see Microsoft.ReportViewer.ProcessingObjectModel.dll to add as reference to my project. Actually I can open generated rdlc in designer, at run time I get error. I could not make out where is the exact mistake out of three
options flashed.

Enabling end users to create and upload their own layouts for PDF reports
Using the PDF printing features in APEX 3.x and BI Publisher, you can create professional looking report designs with no programming knowledge, simply by using the built-in wizards of the BI Publisher Word Plug-In, and a little knowledge of how to use MS Word. The nice thing about using the Word Plug-In is that even the end users of your APEX applications could potentially do this. The only problem is, that typically those report layouts are stored under the Shared Components of your application, and end users generally don't have access to the Application Builder, all they typically use is your APEX application. So then why not simply add an interface to your APEX application that lets your end users upload their own layouts and dynamically link them to APEX report queries at runtime? I put together a sample application that demonstrates this technique, you can try it out on apex.oracle.com or download the application and try it on your own APEX instance. Here's the link to my Blog with more information:

MarcHi Marc,
Very nice app. I tried to create a new template with success.

Is it possible to create a report in PDF/A format? If it is, in which version of OracleReports it's possible to make that.
Thanks
MarkoHello,
Unfortunately no version of Oracle Reports supports PDF/A.
the way you would do that is to create a custom destination class for the reports server that implements the conversion to PDF/a using some kind of third party tool. take a look at the reports java doc
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e10775/oracle/reports/server/Destination.html
to get an idea of the API. you can take the "secure PDF" sample destionation from the plugin exchange as a guideline.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/reports/index-085705.html
Also,Oracle Reports provides several ways in order to include accessibility features in the PDF file. The PDF format file follows the tagged-PDF standard defined in PDF 1.4. This standard along with Acrobat Reader 5 (or higher) provides features for inclusion in the paper layout.
For information on enabling accessibility-related features offered through Oracle
Reports from the command line-->
see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/b32121.pdf -->Section A.5.1, "ACCESSIBLE".
For information about using the Oracle Reports accessibility properties designed to make PDF report output accessible to the disabled community (Alternative Text, Headers, ID, Report
Language, and Table Caption properties), see the Oracle Reports online Help.
Kind regards,
Alex

Getting an Error WIJ20002 while trying to create a webi report in infoview
Hi,
We are getting an error " The Webintelligence Report Panel cannot connect to the server.Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your Business Objects Administrator ( WIJ20002)" only for a single universe.
Please suggest how can we fix this error.
Regards
ChaitanyaI am giving you couple of scenario based on which this error might occur.I include below a selection of what would seem to be the more relevant ones in your case. Please review these and try the suggested solutions and then let us know the outcome in each case.
Scenario1:
When creating a new document based on linked universes in InfoView 6.5.x, the following error message appears:
"The WebIntelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server. Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your BusinessObjects administrator. (Error: WIJ 2002)."
When you click on details, the following error message appears:
"java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot load DS; no ID set
at com.bo.wp.om.OMDataProvider.getDataSource(OMDataProvider.java:192)
at com.bo.wp.tc.TCMain.newDocument(TCMain.java:807)
at com.bo.wp.tc.TCMain.initDocument(TCMain.java:649)
at com.bo.wp.tc.TCMain.initClient(TCMain.java:1253)
at com.bo.w.tc.thread.InitAppletRunner.run(InitAppletRunner.java:82)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)"
Resolution:
In Supervisor, the user does not have the Import Universe right in the designer.
Enable the Import Universe right for the user, and ensure they have rights at the user and group level.
Scenario2:
In BusinessObjects version 6.5, when attempting to create a new WebIntelligence report using the Java Query Panel, one of the following error messages appears:
"The Web Intelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server. Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your Business Objects Administrator (Error: WIJ 20002)"
or
u201CWeb Intelligence cannot retrieve this document due to a server problem or an error in the document structure. See your Business Objects Administrator".
Also, the bottom of the Java applet window states Launching new document.
Resolution:
The error messages occur because either the universe file name contains an ampersand character (u201C&u201D) in the name or the .unv or .unw files used by the Java Query Panel have become corrupted.
To resolve the error messages
Navigate to <installation directory>:/Business Objects/BusinessObjects Enterprise 6/nodes/<server name>/<cluster name>/universes/.
Remove the .unv file for the derived universe.
Navigate to <installation directory>: /Business Objects/BusinessObjects Enterprise 6/nodes/<server name>/<cluster name>/universes/<universe domain name>/ucdz.
Remove the .unw file for the derived universe.
Remove the ampersand character ("&") from the universe name.
Scenario3:
Problem:
Error: "The WebIntelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server. Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your BusinessObjects administrator. (Error: WIJ 20002)" when you try to open the Java Report Panel.
Resolution:
****CONFIGURATION*****
WebIntelligence version 6.1b
Windows 200 Server SP4
IIS 5
JDK 1.42_03
**********SYMPTOMS******
You try to open the Java Report Panel and you receive the following error:
"The WebIntelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server. Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your BusinessObjects administrator. (Error: WIJ 20002)"
*********CAUSE*************
You do not have the correct permissions to access files from the wiasp virtual directory. The virtual directory and all sub-directories were initially configured to use "Scripts only" or "None".
*********RESOLUTION*****
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Open the Internet Information Services Manager Console.
2. Expand the "Default Web Site" and "wiasp" directories.
3. Right-click each of the following directories, and in Properties for each, set the respective value for Execute Permissions:
scripts = "Scripts"
viewers = "Scripts"
bin = "Scripts and Executables"
classes = "Scripts"
onlineguides = "Scripts"
help = "Scripts"
distribution = "Scripts" or "None"
Scenario4:
Problem:
Error: "WebIntelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server (WIJ 20002)" when attempting to create a new report
Resolution:
****CONFIGURATION*****
WebIntelligence 6.5.x
**********SYMPTOMS******
You attempt to create a new report using the Java panel based on a universe. The universe list appears as expected, but upon selecting the universe you receive an error similar to the following:
"The WebIntelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server. Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your BusinessObjects administrator. (WIJ 20002)"
*********CAUSE*************
There is a connectivity issue to the universe and/or document domain. The universe list is still displayed because that information is cached.
*********RESOLUTION*****
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Log into Supervisor as a General Supervisor.
2. Go to Tools > Repository to open the Repository Management dialog where domain connections are listed.
3. Test the document and universe domain connections and update where needed to establish connectivity.
Scenario5:
Problem:
Error: "WIJ 20002" when launching the Java Report Panel on a Windows 2003 Server.
Resolution:
****CONFIGURATION*****
WebIntelligence version 6.5
Windows 2003
IIS 6
**********SYMPTOMS******
You launch the Java Report Panel on a Windows 2003 Server and receive the following error:
The WebIntelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server. Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your Business Objects administrator. (Error: WIJ 20002).
*********CAUSE*************
This error message appears because ISAPI (Internet Server Application Program Interface) extensions are disabled by default on IIS 6.
*********RESOLUTION*****
Here are the steps to follow to enable ISAPI extensions:
1. Click Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2. Expand the "" beside the server name by clicking the "" icon.
3. Select "Web Service Extensions."
4. Select "All Unknown ISAPI Extensions" from the right pane and click "Allow."
5. Restart the IIS web server.
I know it's a bit long but i hope this will help you to some extent in troubleshooting WIJ2002 Error. -

Unable to create Database in Reporting Service Configuration
Hi,
We have SQL Server 2012 in our environment. I want to enable monitor report in Lync 2013. i have separate Lync sql instance.
I am trying to configure new database in Reporting Service Configuration manager in report Server database Configuration wizard.
while testing connection getting below error.
could not connect to server:A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to
allow remote connections.(provider:Named Pipes provider,error:40-could not open a connection to SQL Server)
kindly help to resolve issue.Hi Rakesh,
Please check the below details information:
Check the ReportServer db is present in the Database engine.
Go and check the report server configurations (go here:Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft sql server 2012-> Configuration Tools -> Report Service Configuration Manager
check all the connections if still not working. then create a new reporting services Database. While creating it make sure you select native mode, if you want to create a share point services then select share point integration mode.
If the above didn't work, Please check which port is used for SQL Server database engine from SQL Server Configuration Manager.
If we are using dynamic port, please make sure:
SQL Server Browser service is running.
UDP 1434 port is enabled in the firewall.
If we are using static port, please make sure the port is enabled in the firewall.
Below is useful link about how to troubleshoot connection issue:

Creating a DBI Report with a Generated Data Source
Hi all,
I am on a customer site helping them to implement DBI.
We're using DBI Designer to create some Custom Reports.
We're interested in using Generated Data Sources in order to simplify handling of the complex Time Hierarchies implemented as standard within DBI (eg Rolling 30 days, Compare To Periods etc).
I've read the Metalink Note on how this should be achieved.
(Note 363529.1)
Unfortunately, we seem to be in a Catch 22 situation.
The note states that we need to have BSC v5.3 (or later !) installed.
The latest patch version of OBSC we can find is 5100729 (BSC.I.delta.12).
Our belief is that BSC.I is version 5.2 (incidentally, why do we have two naming/numbering "conventions" ?)
So two questions :
can we use generated data sources now, or do we have to wait for BSC 5.3 ?
when will BSC 5.3 be generally available ? (our customer uses HP/UX)
thanks for any input
MikeHi All,
I am a newbie to DBI. Currently going through the documents DBI for Finanicials
and Payable.
We have to develope custom reports for Payables and Financials intelligence based on Oracle Reports . I would like to know if its possible or not because I read a thread on Forum ("How do you make a copy of an existing DBI report? ") in which it mentions that it is not possible to edit a standard report.
And if it is possible how to go for that ?
Thanks in advance,
Anant. -

I am stuck at the step # 8:
Import the Printing Application in Application Builder using the printapp.sql file located in the directory where you unzipped the file in the previous step.
I have the above referenced file and when I execute it I get the following error:

How to create multi level reports?
The report I have created contains 25 columns and is to wide. I would like to create a multi level report in the fashion of below:
Col 1 Col 2 Col 3
Row1 Row1 Row1
Row2 Row2 Row2
Col 5 Col 6 Col 7
Row1 Row1 Row1
Row2 Row2 Row2
I am assuming this needs to be done by modifying html in a template.
I have cut up a normal report to try and illistrate what I am thinking.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i124/breinhar/multirow.jpg
I greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.Hi,
OK - I've put together a horizontal scrolling report template for a Theme 12/Standard report: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=33642:198]
To create this, you need to:
1 - Through Shared Components, Templates - create a new Report Template based on a copy of the existing Standard report template.
2 - When you have your new template, edit it.
3 - In the template's "Before Rows" setting, replace what's there with the following:
<style type="text/css">
#table1 th {white-space: nowrap}
#table1 td {white-space: nowrap}
#table2 th {white-space: nowrap}
#table2 td {white-space: nowrap}
</style>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" style="padding:0px; border-collapse:collapse;">#TOP_PAGINATION#
<tr><td>
<tr>
<td style="vertical-align:top; background-color:#EFEFEF; padding:0px; border:1px solid darkgray;">
<div id="d1" style="background-color:white; margin:0px; border:0px; padding:0px;">
</div>
</td>
<td style="vertical-align:top; padding:0px; border:1px solid darkgray;">
<div id="d2" style="overflow-X:scroll; margin:0px; border:0px; padding:0px; border-right:1px solid darkgray;">
<table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" class="t12Standard" id="table2">4 - In the template's "After Rows" setting, replace what's there with the following:
</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table><div class="t12bottom">#EXTERNAL_LINK##CSV_LINK#</div></td></tr>#PAGINATION#</table>
<script type="text/javascript">
var d1 = document.getElementById("d1");
var t2 = document.getElementById("table2");
var t1 = t2.cloneNode(false);
t1.style.width = "100%";
t1.id = "table1";
d1.appendChild(t1);
var t2Rows = t2.rows;
var k;
var r;
var c;
for (k = 0; k < t2Rows.length; k++)
r = document.createElement("TR");
t1.appendChild(r);
c = t2Rows[k].cells[0].cloneNode(true);
r.appendChild(c);
t2Rows[k].deleteCell(0);
d1.innerHTML += "";
</script>5 - On your report's Report Attributes, change the template used for the report from "Standard" to your new one
6 - Also on the report's Report Attributes, set "Enable Partial Page Refresh" to No - this is required as we need the javascript in the template to be run whenever pagination happens and Partial Page Refresh does not seem to allow us the means to trigger javascript
7 - Finally, on the report region's Region Footer, add in:
<style type="text/css">
#d1 {width:75px;}
#d2 {width:500px;}
</style>#d1 refers to the width of the frozen column and #d2 is the width of the rest of the report - you can adjust these figures as required.
The template contains two DIV tags - d1 and d2. Initially, d1 is empty and d2 contains the report. The javascript moves the first cell in each row from d2 to d1. The styles then add the scrolling functionality.

How to create a standard report that allows filtering?
Hi Guys and Gals,
Sometimes, the standard report is great because it gives the user the feeling of a grid. i.e. All of the values are editable on one page, kind of like a spreadsheet. That is sometimes very useful. But if there is a lot of data, a filtering mechanism is necessary.
So will one of you Apex gurus please tell me how to create a standard report that also allows data filtering?
Allowing the user to specify the number of rows displayed would be peachy-keen too.
Thanks,
Kim
P.S. I'm running Apex 4.1 with Oracle 11g.Kim2012 wrote:
Your idea sounds very promising, but I apparently need a nudge in the right direction. From "Create Page", I clicked on "Form" and then "Tabular Form". Why would you do this? The advice given was
create a standard report page using the Create New Page wizardi.e. go to Home > Application Builder > Application > Create Page and click Classic Report, this was suggested because the original post said:

Nothing about forms. Tabular Forms, Tabular Forms. Despite many enhancements over the last few versions, tabular forms still cause problems, especially for novices trying to go beyond their own competence and the built-in capabilities of wizard-generated tabular forms.
More good advice: Re: Newbie question-how does the tabular form work? How to populate prim key? and—if based on decent database design—out of the box you have a usable and robust application. Use an Interactive Report or a custom report template and add some CSS and you can get something a lot more powerful, flexible and better looking than any tabular form. Spend the time you haven't wasted on frustrated hacking of tabular forms adding more features and enhancements to your app. -

import went fine, but when I ran the IR page I got
ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00904: : invalid identifier
evidently the problem is a lack of public execute on DBMS_LOB, which is used in the generated IR source.
while waiting for the DBA to grant privs on DBMS_LOB, changing the dbms_lob.getlength call to length() fixes the IR.
however, i am not getting the download link on the associated form page... changed templates, that's not the issue -- we'll see if that's a dbms_lob issue as well -

Looks like there is a 127-column limit on the number of report columns supported when using that wizard. Do you have more than that?

I am getting the following error while creating an Interactive report region on a page. (version - 4.1.0.00.32)
Error Unable to create Dynamic Query page.

DBA complied package but the error persists.
Does anyone know how to debug this
Thanks,
PriyankaHello ???,
We are experiencing this too at login in an application. The error is caused by violating the constraint WWV_FLOW_DATA_IDX1 on columns FLOW_INSTANCE, ITEM_ID in table WWV_FLOW_DATA. So for some reason the value of an item in session state is set multiple times.
When looking at the Access view (statement below) I see that there are multiple logins per second for a user (I have seen 12 times as maximum).
select login_name, application, access_date, count(*)
from WWV_FLOW_USER_ACCESS_LOG_V
group by login_name, application, access_date
having count(*) > 1
order by access_date descSince this count of logins varies from 1 to 12, it looks like it is not caused by the application itself, but I also don't have a clue what the root cause is.
Is there anyone else with more information on this issue?
We are on APEX 4.0 and Oracle 11g and the applications have all been built in this environment, so no upgrades have been performed.
Regards, Wouter

Database Logon Failed which created by Crystal Report 2008
this time i meet the famous error again which is database logon failed.
i created a crystal report 2008 starting from blank report, then connect with odbc
i use 2008 method
objRpt.SetDatabaseLogon(db_username, db_password, odbc_name, database_name);
2008 method will get database logon failed even set database location and verify database again
then i use 8.5 method and try again for 2008 report. it said field name is unknown for one of formula
then i drag field again for formula and set database location and verify database again
it said the same error.
then i uninstall 8.5 crytal report software in window 7 deployment machine, and do above again, it said the same error
