Enabling SNC on SAP Server

I am trying to enable SNC on SAP Server. I have downloaded the SAP Cryptographic library and installed it as per in the instructions in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/96/709b3ad94e8a3de10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Using STRUST transaction I created a PSE for SNC.
I have modified with the instance profile (using RZ10 transation) and specified the following values
snc/enable - 1
snc/accept_insecure_rfc -1
snc/accept_insecure_gui - 0
snc/accept_insecure_cpic -1
snc/permit_insecure_start -1
snc/data_protection/min - 2
snc/extid_login_diag -1
snc/extid_login_rfc - 1
and restarted the SAP Server.
I got the following error
trc file: "dev_w7", trc level: 1, release: "640"

  • Cannot enable SNC in SAPlogon with alternative IP address in SMLG groups

    Hello everyone,
I am looking for someone who has overcome the following situation:
We run SAP Enterprise on Unix (640 kernel).  The systems have 2 networks - one for internal server communications and one for end-user connections.  This requires that in our production logon group (multiple servers) that we specify the end-user IP address as an alternative IP in SMLG (otherwise SAP returns the internal network IP to the client).
However, when I try to enable SNC in SAPlogon to the production logon group, the "enable SNC" flag is grayed out.  I have also tried to manually configure the entry in saplogon.ini.  This results in a logon balancing module error.  All of this seems to be described in OSS note 913356.  The note is not very clear, but seems to list a corrected kernel level for version 4.6D.  Thinking that this might be true for 640, I updated the kernel to 640 patch 159.  This did not resolve the problem.
I should also state that direct saplogon connections to production with SNC do work.  The problem appears to be in the logon module.
Has anyone else experienced this situation?  Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Paul
    Basis Admin, Medrad

    > Regards, Patrick
Saying that "SNC is only available starting with NW2004s" could be missinterpreted. Instead, I think it is better to say that "When using load balancing with SNC, for logon to SAP, and using an alternative IP address only works out-of-box with NW2004s". We have many customers using SNC authentication products with load balancing on releases prior to NW2004s, so this patch must be required only because of the alternative IP address being added to the logon group configuration.
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • How to call TRFC from diff SAP server?

    hi all,
i have created one rfc enabled FM on a SAP server, and i am calling that FM from different SAP server using TRFC. I am calling using this statement,
CALL FUNCTION 'ZMKV_RFC' IN BACKGROUND TASK
      DESTINATION 'zmkv'
But it doesnt show me any output neither showing any errors? suggest me step by step procedure to do this...i will reward points if i get the requried answer.

    hI Mayank..
Note: RFC destinations are maintained in Tcode SM59. Test this RFC Destination. And one more thing these RFC Destination names are CASE SENSITIVE.
    So in this statement.
CALL FUNCTION 'ZMKV_RFC' IN BACKGROUND TASK
DESTINATION 'zmkv'  "Check the CASE of the RFC Destination and give

  • Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc?

Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc(Which is also sap server with same version and same DB)?
I have tried to configure using help from previous post in SCN ( SAP MMC in one server to control the entrie landscape ) but it is not working...  As picture shown below after entering the details am clicking on add but nothing is happening...
Scenario is I have installed 4 VM's with SAP installed in all (out of it 3 linux and 1 windows) & all communicating well and they are in same Network/Landscape & I can configure/manage/logon all servers in host GUI... But If I shutdown my VM or a Laptop...  Every time I have to start all the servers... by starting lsnrctl, DB, sap for all the servers,
Is there any chance to configure sap in windows sapmmc...???
Kindly suggest the process step by step...
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Yüksel
Thank you for the reply It helped me to configure but i struck in some place.. Dispatcher is getting stopped... I tried to add 3 different sap servers in sapmmc and tried to start.. Three are getting same errors(Guess same error)
After your suggestion i was able to configure and start SIDadm of host but immediately or after 30sec Dispatcher gets stopped tried to find out some solutions but didnt worked... But i was able to start from there servers manually in linux way startsap, but not in SAPMMC way...
Could you or please help me in solving trace given below...

  • Batch / script file to start /stop sap server

    Hi,
I would like to start/stop SAP server using batch file (in windows). I need this, whenever we have to shutdown the server and restart of the server, so that SAP will automatically shutdown and restart using batch files while server restart cases? If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks,
    Regards,
    Sundar.

target of the 700 sapstartsrv improvement was to deliver identical functionality on all SAP platforms. As the DCOM programing model is only available on Windows platforms sapstartsrv.exe was enhanced by the WEB-Service interface and is available now on Unix too.
The DCOM SAPControl interface of sapstartsrv.exe is still existing, but only on Windows. Here you can use VB Script or any other programming language able to handle DCOM objects to write your own programs / scripts to interact with the SAPControl.
sapcontrol.exe is a command line program available since 700 which enables you control over nearly all functions of the sapstart service.
Even it has the same name as the DCOM interface it' something completly different.
    regards
      Peter

    Ciao Andrea,
    just a couple of hints:
    - Did you already tried to skip logon to BOE and instead directly select BW system? this should avoid to involve snc and then BEx query should be accessible. This would be a further confirmation that issue is the SNC, even if the log you posted is pretty clear about that.
    - Do you have snc installed even in local PC running MS Advanced Analysis? I Think it is necessary for the described workflow (page 24 of Admin Guide):
"With SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise as the BI platform, single sign-on works if the following conditions
    are true:
u2022 BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 is configured correctly for single sign-on. For more information,
see u201CConfiguring SAP authenticationu201D in the Integration for SAP Solutions Install and Admin Guide
at http://service.sap.com/bosap-instguides SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) >
Integration for SAP Solutions > XI 3.1.
u2022 Secure Network Communications (SNC) is installed on each client PC. For more information, see
SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com SAP NetWeaver > SAP NetWeaver Library > SAP
NetWeaver by Key Capability > Security > Network and Transport Layer Security > Secure
    Network Communications.
u2022 Each end user has a user account in the connected BW system."
Furthermore, if I rember correctly, there could be restriction in license using SAP Cryptographic Library (client connection is not supported: SAP notes 597059 and 397195), so you should check your SNC software.
    Hope it could hep.
    Regards.
    Roberto.

    Hi Ingo,
the runtime error occurs in this scenario:
    1) Launch MS Advanced Analysis
    2) Logon on SAP BO
    3) Select the System connection for SAP BW where the SNC has been configured
    4) Select  the bex Query
    5) The system response with this message: No applicable data found.
On ST22 , on SAP BW, there is the runtime error: CALL_FUNCTION_SEND_ERROR with the message:
"SNCERR_INVALID_FRAME#A received frame is invalid/truncated or is no SNC-frame".
    Thank's a lot.
    Best Regards.

  • Help me Enabling SNC tab

    Hi Experts,
We have multiple ECC 6.0 Systems where SNC tab is missing in SU01. We need to enable SNC tab in SU01 for ECC 6.0 release. This tab is available in newer versions. Please suggest how can I make the SNC tab available in older or ECC6.0 releases.
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

    Hi Juan,
Thanks for your response. As you said I have tried to enable profile parameter snc/enable=1 but dialogue processes are ending soon after SAP system start. I have also set the other parameters and for snc/identity/as the SPN is not set for SAPServiceSID, so dialogue process are ending soon and I cant login and check SNC tab in SU01.
As other option I have compared ECC and NW 7.0 systems. NW 7.0 has SNC tab but the ABAP and BASIS components are at level 09 where as ECC has at level 11. but PI and BW are at 9 for NW 3 for ECC.  Kernel is latest 254 for NW and 169 for ECC.
So Could you please tell me with what component does the SNC feature will be available in SU0. Does this depends on SP level or Kernel level?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

  • Is any 3rd party hardware/platforms  required to enable communi with SAP?

    Hi Gurus,
What server side hardware/platforms are required to enable communication with SAP mobile devices? What would be a typical production setup? Would there be any 3rd party components here that would require licensing?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dharani

    Hi,
if you want to communicate with SAP Mobile devices - you need a SAP Netweaver installation in Mobile UsageMode. This is called the middleware system. It is not recommended to have this setup onn your Backend system but to have a dedicated server for it - cause of Workload, performance and monitoring.
If you run MI client on a PDA - then you need to install NSICom Creme as Java runtie on PDA - but the license is already included in SAP MI lizensing cost.
If you have to support larger Datasets, then you might need to install DB2e as persistence layer. This causes an additional licensing you need to pay to IBM - I think via SAP, but well, at the end you need to pay something on top if you run DB2e. The normal used persistence is free of charge. It is called FileIO up to MI7.0, with MI7.1 it is called MinDB.
So all you really need, is a dedicated Netweaver Mobile Box.
    Hope that helps!
    - oh I have seen - check your other post on that topic as well .--- this post here is for occasionally connected apps - this other post talks about MobileOnline as well---

    Oliver

  • Trigger the workflow in the remote sap server

I am trying to trigger another workflow in remote sap server by using web activity.  What are the prerequisite for using web activity.  Actually, i tried to use url wizard but, i don't know what i should i fill for the port.   is the server configuration required? anyone has exprience on this?

Hey if you want to know the URL and the prot number generated by the system you can use a program RCF_GENERATE_URL if you execute this program thenit will show you the enitr URL including the port number . My Guess is it will be  8000( Iam not sure)
Secondly teh prerequisites for using a  Web activity step is you have to define the WEB SERVER , This is because you need to enable the webservice , in order to recevie the XML doument, through which you can start WF which is located in the REMOTE SAP server,
And At the same time you have to make the appropriate settings in the remote workflow so that it  will receive the XML document and then start's its processing.
