End user have ability to change font style in text field of interactive pdf form?
Does the end user of an interactive pdf form able to change the font style, i.e.: make something bold or underline a word in a text field?
I am making a form with text fields and the end user would like the ability to make something bold or underline it.. I do not see anywhere in acrobat that allows styles to be changed.
I have created the form in Indesign > saved it as an interactive pdf and brought it into Acrobat.
Thank you for the quick response! Do you set this in Indesign before exporting or do you set this in Acrobat? I am in Acrobat 10.1.10 and when I go to properties it doesn't give me 'options' to choose from.

Change font colour in Text Field
If I have typed 'The Cat Sat On The Mat' into a text field yet I want 'The Cat' to appear in bold and the rest as normal, how can I do this or even in a different colour?
Any help would be appreciatedThe only way to do this, is a text field that you change from plain text to rich text.
Then you can enter what you want, press ctrl+b to make something bold.
If you want to see the content of your box, use TextField.value.exData.saveXML() ... -
How can I change the content of a text field in a PDF form with a defined variable?
Hello all!
First time poster, and getting pretty frustrated with trying to figure out this one issue. Here is the scenario: I am using Acrobat 10 Pro to design what is essentially a giant order form. I designed the document in InDesign, defined the various buttons and whatnot and then exported it to Acrobat to continue building the form.
I have a Radio Button group called "conference_opportunities" which contains different options at different price points, so they are all named the same, but have different values (so that they belong to the same group and only one can be selected at a time).
What I have done is created a "MouseDown" event on the radio button that sets a variable called "ConferenceOpportunity" which is equal to the title of the option they are picking. I then want to take that variable and display it in a text box called "Conference_Option". I am using a variable because the values of my radio buttons are all the actual prices of the option they are picking, so I can't define the value as the title of the option.
So its an array of radio buttons, and at the bottom of the page there is the Option They Selected, the quantity (which can change) and the value (in dollars)
I also then want to display this variable at the end of the document as a sort of summary of everything they chose to purchase as well but I imagine its the same code.
I am not an expert Javascript person at all, so any code snippets would help greatly. I have looked over the Adobe Document on the SDK and API and have not been able to find a solution. I have also turned to the almighty google and still no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks EveryoneAll you now have to do is use that variable to the value property of your text field... So add this at the end of your code:
this.getField("Conference_Option").value = ConferenceOpportunity;
Also, I would use MouseUp, not MouseDown. -
How do I change the order of the fields in my pdf form?
I am using pdf. form I made in Acrobat and distributing with Adobe FormsCentral. We use a table format for our teachers to fill out their field trip schedules and therefore use many different fields.
How can I change the order of the fields (not for tabbing, we figured that out)...so that when we receive our notification email, I can see the inforamtion in a specific order (Date, Time, School, Program, etc).
We would also like this same order to appear in the "View Responses" table. I know you can drag and drop the order in the table but we have over 100 fields and that is going to take a really long time.
Please help???

Solids vs. LiquidsWhat do you mean by the "order they appear in the pdf structure"? What is the "Pdf structure"?
thank you for your help... this is really upsetting, as I thought we finally found a solution with Adobe Forms : (
We really need the fields to report back in a specific order and wouldn't have time to rearrange over 100 fields with every form that is submitted. We receive about 10-20 different forms a day (same form layout, just some of the fields will have to be prefilled depending on school/teacher reservation... so we have to name each form a different name, for each school).
Thank you again and maybe one day they will change that. Is there anyway to set it up in the web verison of Adobe FormsCentral to look similar to the table we have created?

My typewriter toolbar is graying out the ability to change font size, type, and color.
Here's what I have done in the past. Maybe not elegant, but
it works. (I
use PHP, but I'm sure you can modify for ASP.)
In the HEAD of each web page, include regular old embedded
STYLE tags,
but INCLUDE an external PHP file:
<head>
<style type="text/css">
<?php include('styles/testcss.php'); ?>
</style>
</head>
Now in that included PHP file, just have CSS code which pulls
in your
dynamic data. Here's an example snippet:
body {
color: #600;
background-color: <?php echo
$row_recordset['bgcolor'];?>
Of course, you'll need the code for the recordset somewhere
too.

Illustrator Crashing - When changing Font Styles
Illustrator keeps crashing every time I try and change font styles on a piece of copy
Hi Selina,
Two possible (maybe the most probable) causes could be:
Corrupt font(s) or A font caches issue
For Troubleshooting Corrupted Fonts:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-font-problems-windows.html
To Clear the Font cache for Mac:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-fonts-mac-os-x.html
(It can also help if you are on Mac to boot in safe mode)
Have you installed extra fonts or maybe a Font management Progam.
If you removed the installed fonts or disable the font management progam you get the same results?
Hopefully this will help you solve the problem. -
Hi All,
I want to put some validation on particular field and on the basis of it i want to change font style or colour.
Can anyone tell me hoe it is possible?
Thanks,
joyI am giving you a sample code you can modify it according to your requirement.
I have created a CSS in ProcessRequest Method of Controller.
import oracle.cabo.style.CSSStyle;
CSSStyle oraaniltext = new CSSStyle();
oraaniltext.setProperty("color", "#F6358A");
oraaniltext.setProperty("background-color", "#000000");
OAMessageTextInputBean comCode = (OAMessageTextInputBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("InvoiceIdTI");
comCode.setInlineStyle(oraaniltext);
Here i have set the CSS of a item of Type MessageTextInput and set its Foreground Color and Background color.
I hope this will give you some clue.
Thanks

End users are not able to save interactive pdf form created with designer
I am new to using LiveCycle Designer and have created a pdf form but my end users are not able to save edited form. Does this have something to do with whether the form is static or dynamic. If so, I am not exactly sure how to use the restorestate option to convert it back to static. I also tried to enable the "user rights access in adobe reader" under the advance menu and had no luck.
My end users have acrobat reader 9 - do I need them to download anything else, maybe professional.Thanks Paul for your reponse
In my Adobe Pro I don't see the option Reader Extend rather I enabled "Enabled Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" amd I figured this was somewhat the same. So if I enabled this option in Adobe Pro already and they are still not able to edit the fillable text slots or save it what other option do I have in figuring this out. -

Updating a user text field in sap system form in Find Mode
Dear All,
I created a Edit text field in Sap System form [FormType :149] -Sales Quotation. I want to update a value to the text while clicking OK button in Find Mode. the code is given below.
If pVal.ItemUID = "1" And pVal.FormMode = SAPbouiCOM.BoFormMode.fm_FIND_MODE And (Not pVal.Before_Action) And pVal.EventType = SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_CLICK Then
oForm = SBO_App.Forms.Item(FormUID)
oForm.Freeze(True)
oItem = oForm.Items.Item("txtUID")
oEdit = oItem.Specific
oRS = ConSBOdb.Execute("Select * from BG_CAMPAIGNSHDR where CMIDENT ='" & Trim(oEdit.Value) & "'")
oItem = oForm.Items.Item("txtCampgn") ' // User created field
oItem.Enabled = False
oEdit = oItem.Specific
If oRS.EOF = False Then
oEdit.Value = oRS.Fields("CMNAME").Value
Else
oEdit.Value = ""
End If
end if
while clicking the OK button, Based on the value fetched on the screen, I have to open a recordset and get the value. But, the screen loads the value to the system textboxes. I could not get those value to run the Sql in the event. it returns empty. Could any one help please how to solve this ?
Thanks in advance.
Manikandan.Hi,
Try This..
If pVal.FormType = 149 And pVal.ItemUID = "1" Then
If pVal.FormMode = SAPbouiCOM.BoFormMode.fm_FIND_MODE Then
If pVal.Before_Action = False Then
If pVal.EventType = SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_ITEM_PRESSED Then
Try
oForm = SBO_App.Forms.Item(FormUID)
oForm.Freeze(True)
oItem = oForm.Items.Item("txtUID")

oRS = ConSBOdb.Execute("Select * from BG_CAMPAIGNSHDR where CMIDENT ='" & Trim(oEdit.Value) & "'")
oItem = oForm.Items.Item("txtCampgn") ' // User created field
oItem.Enabled = False
oEdit = oItem.Specific
If oRS.EOF = False Then
oEdit.Value = oRS.Fields("CMNAME").Value
Else
oEdit.Value = ""
End If
Catch ex As Exception
SBO_application.MessageBox(ex.Message)
End Try
End If
End If
End If
End If

Is it possible to have copy to clipboard take entries in text boxes on a fillable form as well as the form fields in Adobe Reader Windows? When I create the forms is there some javascript or possibly a setting that would allow the end user to copy to clipboard the form fields and their entered text. Or another option that would work is to have only the entries in the text boxes copy to clipboard. Is that even possible?
Copying fields is not possible in Reader.

Embed Fonts in Dynamic Text Fields
Hey, I am relatively new around here although I've been a
member for years. I am just now starting to utilize my account. I
do have a question in regards to embedding fonts in Flash 8. I have
read up on this numerous places and haven't been able to find a
solution that works for me, whether this my user error or not is
still TBD.
I am loading text from a XML document into Flash dynamic text
fields. I need to be using a handwritting font for these text
fields. After embedding the handwritten font they are not
displaying in my dynamic fields but are displaying in my static
text fields that am I also using on the site. I am controlling my
dynamic text fields w/ an external stylesheet. I believe I must do
something "additional" for these dynamic text fields but haven't
figured out what that is, any help anyone can offer is much
appreciated! Thanks.floateronline wrote:

the question is a bit too general. There are many ways to
approach it, from copies
of text fields with that font off stage, to embedded outlines
and linkage in the library.
My guess is that somewhere on the way you did not fully
complete the outline embed options.
Either done incorrectly or you miss some action.
Mind to post detail explanation how you embed the outlines?
Best if you post an example
file for us to check.
