English speaking phone support? NO WAY!

Just wanted to say kudos to Apple for the English fluency of their support department. I'm sure i'm not the first one to comment about it...
It's just really refreshing in a department where audio communication is a key component that the operators actually speak fluent English. Whooda Thunk!

Just ring the number and ask if anyone who speaks English can help you.

  • Is there an English speaking Apple support phone number for Belgium ?

I am regretting having updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 6.
Apart from the debacle of Maps , I have another even bigger problem.
I have been using the IPhone 4s in Belgium with a Proximus data card.
This no longer works with iOS 6 ! I get an error message stating that a data subscription is needed !
The card continues to work fine with other iOS 5 devices.
Is there a phone number for Apple in Belgium where I can get help in English ?

Just ring the number and ask if anyone who speaks English can help you.

  • HT2534 I am from the U.S, now currently in the Czech Republic. Just bought an iphone with vodafone. I can't get past the account setting on itunes, etc...either way, How do I get ENGLISH SPEAKING HELP instead of being redirected to the Czech Language stor

I am somewhat new to apple products. I am from the U.S. and currently studying in the Czech Republic.
I have an itouch with an apple ID, but lately I can't get it to charge or work. After pluggin the usb recharge cable to the computer at my universities facility, it gives a black page with a picture of the cable and the arrow pointing to itunes logo. The school's computer labs don't have i tunes or anything like that.
I also just got an iphone 4S and have been trying to set up and i can't seem to complete the process for the itunes so i can install the apps i had in the itouch and also to get new apps. It stops me and says to contact the itunes for support right after the input of address and phone number information, etc...
The purchase was made in the czech republic from a vodafone store, but if i remember right i configured it to US settings so I don't have to deal so much with everything showing up in Czech.
I tried getting help by going to the support, but after putting in my  name, email, phone number for scheduling a call with them it rejects the phone number because i am putting in my czech phone number. Putting in my previous US number would be useless because I am not in the US and that number is probably inactive.
I would to get some English speaking support while being here in the czech republic.
    Any advice?
    -peteMD-

If you are completely confident that you didn't hide it, then you purchased those with different apple id. If you completely confident that you purchases with same apple id then you have hidden it. One of the other or you are speaking about a miracle. While miracles are possible they are not very likely. • Iphone 5: Audio, the only way i can hear people on my phone is if i have the speaker phone on or headset, what gives?

I've only had this iphone 5 for a few months, i was able to talk to people perfectly fine but now for some reason, i have to put them on speaker phone or use my headset to hear them, if i don't have them on either, i can't hear anything they are saying. anyone know what causes this?

I think you have a pretty good mastery of the internet to be able to figure that out.

  • At the end of my rope with phone support.

I'm not sure what anyone here can do, but I need somplace to share this with. Its extremely frusturating.
Less than a month ago, I purchased my first iMac. It was a slightly older model- a 20" Aluminum 2.0ghz machine. It was purchased from a re-seller and had obviously been sitting on the shelf for a while. I know that the warranty date starts from the purchase date of the re-seller; there is a form to fill out if it needs to be changed to your actual purchase date. In a situation like mine, where the computer had been in the store for around a year, this was essential if I wanted any kind of phone support.
I filled out these forms, faxed a copy of the receipt to the number I was supposed to, and assumed everything would be fine. Within 24 hours, Boot Camp managed to screw up the OS X partition of my hard drive. I needed to make several calls to customer support, where I had to argue with all of them due to the purchase date update taking up to 72 hours to go through. After several phone calls, where I had to explain my situation 15 times and wait on hold for 45 minutes while they found out that it takes 72 hours for the change to go through, and after literally 5 hours of driving to my nearest Apple stores until someone was willing to help me with the problem even though I was "out of warranty" (Reminder- I had purchased this computer 2 days prior. New, off the shelf in the store. It absolutely should've been under warranty.) I was finally able to get the computer fixed.
Today, I figured I'd check on the status of my purchase date switch, so the next time something goes wrong with my computer I don't have to battle with tech support to get them to listen to my problem. I entered the serial number in the warranty info page, and it tells me:
*Our records indicate that your product is covered under a custom contract. For more information about your coverage, please contact us.*
*Your product is not eligible for complimentary phone support.*
When I click "contact us," the only thing that would be able to potentially help me out is the Apple Customer Service phone number. I don't feel like calling and having someone with a medium-thick accent repeat back to me what they understood my issue to be 5 times until they finally get it right. I would love to write it out so someone can just re-read it if they don't wrap their mind around it the first time.
I don't see why I should have to argue my case. I went to an Apple Authorized Reseller, swiped my credit card, and walked out with a new iMac. No, it's not the newest model, but its still new. That's money that just went in Apple's pocket, because of my purchase. There is absolutely no reason why it should be this big of a struggle just to get the warranty that I deserve. I don't feel like I'm being unreasonable or out of line in any way.
Does anyone know who I can EMAIL about this, or am I going to have to put up with the non-help I get on the phone? They're going to tell me that they can't help me out, because I'm supposedly not covered for phone support anymore. Ugh. Please help.

I'm not sure what anyone here can do
Nothing. These are user to user forums, of which Apple employees do not take part in.
Does anyone know who I can EMAIL about this,
Nobody...Apple does not offer email support/correspondence. Call support and ask immediately to speak to customer relations.

  • How to translate into English Apple China support page joke for non-Chinese

In China there are many thousands of English speaking non-Mandarin/Cantonese inhabitants amongst the billion+ natives - it would be very prudent of Apple to support cultural foreigners with an English alternative radio button or two on Chinese web pages. Please support us when trying to find Apple support service on a Mandarin text only support pages. Ethnic myopia to believe there are only Chinese speakers/readers inside the borders of this vast land.
The Apple Extended Warranty "outside of Bejing" telephone number is TOTALLY an automated voice ONLY speaking in Mandarin, even at 8pm. Nothing of English support. What can any non-natives do? Nothing offered that we can hear of what hours of support operation. (Australia at least did go till 11pm even if it was diverted in to Engaliss "speakar" Indians guys. Still India was exc. with service, now in China it's 9-5 hours only? The pronunciation on weak low power Chinese lines that for one call ever means for keeping a hearing aid by the phone.
My experience with Mac sellers here (nothing like a western dealership here thankyou) in Shanghai show only interest in selling more and giving less than lip sync for support service locations/addresses/tel contacts. That is if one can bridge the language barrier most of the huge electronic gadgets sales centers personel to be spasmodically understood - a very frustrating land to bring an Apple computer into.
Doesn't anyone on the Apple CEO board ever visit China and "go native" to experience real world problems?
Apple heros and Applettes in Apple Genesis land : support English-only readers on your foreign language pages - at least show a translation service radio button or someting other than Mandarinic hieroglyphs, even Pin Yin would be a start. Apple speak of a 'global' policy, please support the tens of thousands of English only speakers in the business community, the teachers and travellers in these foreign countries. iPod sales go through the roof here, but finding English based extended warranty support is like something invisible on another planet.
So after a real world complaint - will Apple do anything contructive, can anyone supply solutions? Cannot downoad/update anything; Safari, Explorer both 'blink' only at every atempt, also I wish to locate all iTunes files into one place. Instructing iTunes 'Advanced' section will not transfer the 2 gigs on the G5 across to my dedicated iTunes only 230GB HD. Maybe someone can supply an answer, thanks.
G5 iMac; 2 GHz PowerPC; 1 GB DDR SDRAM; 160HD combo   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   And a G3 ibook with the dual OS9/OSX partitioned startup operating systems

For extended warranty support, try going to:
Apple Computer Trading (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. Room 1201, Lippo Plaza, 222, Huai Hai Zhong Lu, Shanghai 200021, P.R.C.
Try to learn some Chinese, too. I'm sure that's along the lines of what you might suggest to a Chinese immigrant to Australia who doesn't speak English, can't read the Apple Australia web site and complains that because there are 1.2 billion Chinese in the world and only 12 million Australians, the Australian site should have a Chinese translation radio button.
    Good luck!

  • When i put my phone on speaker phone or try to do a video I cannot hear anything

I have an iphone 4, when I put my phone on speaker, try to facetime, or do a video you cannot hear any sound. Is there any way to fix this?

    Hey kdudley1983,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Sounds like you are not getting sound from your speaker. Take a look into this article, it is a good resource for this issue.

  • My mic for my iPhone 4S only works on speaker phone and doesn't work for Siri. What can I do?

My mic on my 4s only works on speaker phone in calls. It also doesn't work for Siri or voice memos. Is there any way to fix this without having to buy new parts or exchange it?

    Hello there, mbrda92.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some great, in-depth steps for troubleshooting your issue:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
    Particularly of note:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Comcast Customer Service Phone Support

What is going on with the Phone Support line at 1-800-934-6489?  I can't even get connected to the company, and there is only one phone number to do so!!! I just moved recently and had my Comcast Internet service transfered (a nightmare that took 3 weeks and 2 separate appointments) and now I'm being overcharged on my bill -- So I call to ask a simple billing question, and I can't even get through the automated triage system to speak to a human being.  Several times I have called and received a busy signal or connect error.  Based on the lousy customer service provided by Comcast, I am vengefully imagining the company imploding on itself, unable to even answer the phone anymore. The only reason I choose to continue to put up with this company is because I have no alternative provider in my area that has even half-way decent Internet speed.  I presume most other customers are in the same miserable predicament.  Maybe this is the beginning of the end for this horrible company, and it will be replaced by something much better....  At least I can dream. How can a company survive when its customers can't even talk to a human being?  This is so ridiculous, and the company is such a disgrace.  I've never had such pathetic "customer service."

I was finally able to get through using number 1-866-671-5645, the "We're On It" support line which is used for escalations.  The agent asked if I had received a "We're On It" card which is supposed to have a one-time use code -- I told him, No.  He asked me where I received this number, and I told him, "Online."  He sounded surprised/irritated, but agreed to help me anyway, and eventually resolved my issue. Hope this helps someone else who is pulling their hair out.  Good luck!

  • Can't hear phone calls/button sounds or use speaker phone lg extravert

I tried to make a phone call but can't hear any ringing, the call goes through but nothing happens. My volume for the earpiece is at maximum and so is the main volume on my phone, I can't hear the button sounds either. If I hit the play button, I can hear the ringtone it plays for volume check and it will also play the power up and power down tones. I tried to use speaker phone, but when I touch the button it won't work. I took the battery out and that did not help at all. I also reset my phone, and that also did not help. I checked my alarm setting since I use that frequently and it works just fine too. I am extremely unhappy because I had this phone replaced in August because the camera stopped working and now it looks like I'll have to do it again but out of warranty.

        @ceasonly
I'm glad you still have some way to hear the audio on your phone, but let's get that speaker working! The most common reason for the phone's sound to stop working would be the switch on the side has been nudged accidently. Try to enable then disable Silent Mode http://bit.ly/Xhs40k to get the volume working again. Also, try to simply restart your iPhone by holding the power switch and home button together for 10 seconds. Nothing gets erased but it helps cleat out any temporary glitch your phone may experience.
If you're still having trouble, the next best step would be to reset the phone's settings http://bit.ly/HWRbPl. This does erase information from your phone, so make sure to back up http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 your iPhone information first.
Keep me posted if you continue to have audio trouble.

In my first iPhone 5, the speaker didn't work and people could not hear me on Speaker phone when I used it. I did every step in the link that i have been provided with (thank you), but I’m
still experiencing the same issue. My experience with Apple has been
excellent and this has been the first time I have experienced something
like this with an Apple product. I hope we can find a quick solution.
In order to get the iPhone 5 as soon as it launched (being a major fan of
Apple products!), I purchased my iPhone 5 from the UK through a friend of
    mine who lives there.
My question is: can I have the faulty device replaced within Saudi by one
of the official resellers here (we have 3: STC, Mobily and Zain)? I want to
avoid the disruption, complication and expense of sending it back to the
    UK.
Could you advise whether this is possible or not, and if not how should I
go about having the device replaced?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

    Nice try! Take a hike.

  • The Speaker phone option on my iPhone 4s is no longer working! Help!!

The Speaker phone option on my iPhone 4s is no longer working.  Whenever I press the speakerphone button I can no longer hear anything and can not get back to the call.  I then must end the call in order to hear anything again.  Its not the actual fault of the speaker either because I can still play music and hear it ring. It has always worked before and my phone is up to date. It seems to be the only thing that just randomly stopped working, and I use the speakphone option a lot.  Help me please!!
    Cheers!
