Enque/table_size error
hi,
i have a problem that the enque/table_size is 32000 but the error is lock table overflow?
the enque/table_size is max value?
thanks in advance
Ferhan
This parameter defines the size of the lock table that is held in
main memory by the enqueue server.
The size of the lock table limits the maximum number of lock
entries, In the case of an overflow of the lock table, you should check
whether the update server is working correctly, since the lock table
can grow in size very quickly if updates stop. If the cause is not
update problems, you can use this parameter to increase the size of
the lock table.
You can view the fill level of the lock tables using the statistics
functions of lock management (transaction SM12 -> Extras ->
Statistics).
This parameter can be increased up to a maximum of 102400

Enque/table_size - Changing the parameter value
Hi folks,
I'm fairly new to SAP so was hoping for a bit of guidance with this matter.
I need to increase the parameter value for "enque/table_size". It's currently set to the default 4096kb and we're seeing a lot of lock table overflow errors.
As the default value with Kernel 7.01 is 32MB, this seems like a good place to kick off.
I've gone into RZ11 and entered the parameter name.
Presumably, I select "CurrentValue" and Edit > Change Value?
Because Change Value is greyed out.
I have SAP_All in terms of authority.
So I'm a bit puzzlied!
Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksIt seems your profile is not activated properly .
First search for the value of the parameter in RZ11 or TU02 , If the value of the parameter is old proceed as either of the follows
1 ) Go to /sapmnt/<SID>/profile , open the DEFAULT.PFL in an editor and add the entries . Bounce the system and check whetehr the entry appears in theRZ10 ( DEFAULT.PFL ) , since enqueue might be configured only in CI you can also do it in the instance profile
2 ) Second option is to go to RZ10 , Open Default or instance profile ( Extended Maintainance ) , create the parametes ,Copy . Save . Activate the profile . Check version of the profile . Bounce the system and check again . This step is recommended
Thanks ,

Parameter enque/table_size value
Hi All,
We face several times lock table overflow issue, Which cause users to hang up for some time for work.
So we are planning to increase size of Enqueue table , I checked parameter enque/table_size it is set to 32768 in our system.
Please suggest the recommandations to increase value of parameter enque/table_size or how can we calculate best suited value of this enq parameter.
Regards,
ShivamHi,
The enqueue ceiling is 1GB of memory, effectively giving you a maximum of 91,000+ locks.
But as mentioned above, size the enqueue depending on your system resources.
I have in the past had a problem when on AIX where I increased the enqueue parameter and the system started up with no locks at all.
This was due to some IPC parameter sizing in the instance profile..

Parameter enque/table_size
Hello all
I would like to know what is the relation between the size of lock table ( defined by parameter "enque/table_size") and number of locks that could be handled.
If found only one related information in OSS note 13907 but it didn't helped me.
Thanks for help

The relation cannot be translated directly from number of locks to used lock-space in K, since different lock objects have a different size.
therefore: only monitoring can give you a hint on how the situation of your landscape, CI is: [in this documentation|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/37/a2e3ab344411d3acb00000e83539c3/content.htm] you will find a general overview but also a link on how to look for statistics on your system ... as with every montoring/statistics: you will have to watch a while to get valid dates. -
SCS Instance - enque/table_size
Hi all,
We need to adjust the parameter enque/table_size in our J2EE system. How can we define it in the SCS instance? We have already adjusted the parameter for the ABAP stack in RZ10. We have yet to adjust the parameter for the JAVA stack? How can we do this? Are we on the right track in SCS, or can we use exchange profile for this?
Much appreciated, Thanks!Hello,
Do you mean that after changing the profile by editing the file and make a system restart the values of the profile file have been changed? Can you please then check the name of the profile and be sure that from RZ10 you did not change and activate that same profile?

System Lock Error while reset & reversing the cleared document - FBRA
Hi Experts,
Currently using t-code FBRA, when user trying to reset & reverse the cleared document , they are facing "System Lock Error". We have analyzed on this issue and found SAP note no. u201C487347 u2013FBRA: Overflow of the lock table in production systemu201D . After implementation of this note, SAP has created one new transaction code, FBRA_LOAC.
However, when we tried to reset & reverse the cleared document using t-code FBRA_LOAC, we face the same error.
Can you help me to resolve this issue ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
ManishHi:
We once faced these issue and got it resolved by extending parameter after extending the profile-parameter "enque/table_size", as per note note 13907. Do not forget the restart the server after extension.

Hi,
I've installed SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12. I get an error during the installation, and uninstall this by the uninstall instructions (start.htm - last slide). When I try to install it again, the installation time was too quickly and searching in SDN forums I found the solution that was to delete Installshield folder from my Commom Files folder. After this, I've installed again and the instalation time was up to 1 hour (normal time). Then I tried to up my server several times, so I've opened my services file and look that some entries is missing (I think that my error is caused by this).
My machine:
Windows XP SP2
MacBook Black - 2GHZ Core 2 Duo - 1GB RAM - 30GB free space
Loopback Adapter is installed and configured to DHCP and fixed IP with 10.10.0.10 value (by SAP instructions)
Hostname: brmb2000
Host file have an entry: 10.10.0.10 brmb2000

RFC error when sending logon data
Hi;
We cannot configure the STMS of our development system. When we try to
configure it, system gives an error message: Errors during distribution
of tp configuration; TMS Alert Viewers tells us
RFC_COMMUNICATION_FAILURE: RFC communications error with
system/destination TMSADM-FKT.DOMAIN_FKT RFC error when sending logon
data and READ_PROFILE_FAILED:File
erptest\sapmnt\trans\bin\TPPARAM
could not be opened for reading (No such file or directory).
Is there any advise for solution?
Best regards
Noyan

You are right. The problem was releated with secstore. I found a SAP note ( Note 1532825 - Deleting SECSTORE entries during system export/system copy). I created the program which ise mentioned in the note and than run it. After that everything seems ok now.
Thanks for your help and interest

Hi experts,
I am in JDBC to IDOC scenario and right now i face following error in SXI_MONITOR (black and white flag in status field BUT Red flag in outbound status):
"Message has error status on outbound side"
This is a heavy interface (up to 8MB) but, in the past, we did not receive this error. I saw that there is an entry in SM58 from the PIAFUSER that says "Lock table overflow"
Thus, I set the parameter enque/tablesize up to 8192 MB but after restarting the system it did not work either, a new entry in SM58 is shown.
If i analyse the runtime tab of the response of the message i can see
<SAP:AdapterStatus>007</SAP:AdapterStatus> --> for an erroneous interface execution (payload=7,2MB)
<SAP:AdapterStatus>006</SAP:AdapterStatus> --> for a successful execution (payload 6.5 MB)
Can anyone plz, help me on this?
I cannot explain why we did not face this in the past.
Can you please explain how the lock table works? and what does the overflow means?
Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,
DavidHi Sai,
Ive checked what you mentioned but cannot see the point there. Maybe you can help me:

Hi,
We are having issue in locking "Error locking table TBTCO" at our SM12 statics Maximum Number of Lock Owners 3603
Even on increasing the enque/table_size it not effecting the lock owner. Our environment having enq replication server.
The profile parameter for enque/serverinst = $(SCSID) (00)
enque replication server instance number is 10
What could be the correction need to be done?
Regards,
RMavYou have to check the reason for the error in the lock.
Get the Work Process number that logged the error in SM21. Check the trace file of this work proces. At the same timestamp of the error in SM21 you do find the root cause in the work process trace.
Usually this is caused by a overflow in the enqueue table, but not always. For this reason you have to check the work process trace the reasl root cause.
To check if the enqueue is suffering a overflow you should go to SM12 -> Extras -> Statistics
If in the statistics you do find that the "Maximum Fill Level" reached the maximum number of locks in these itens, for example:
Maximum Number of Lock Owners 39481
Maximum Fill level 458
Current Fill Level -25
Maximum Number of Lock Arguments 39481 <<<
Maximum Fill level 39480 <<<
Current Fill Level 15
Maximum Number of Lock Entries 39481 <<<
Maximum Fill level 39480 <<<
this means that the enqueue was really suffering under an overflow situation.
Just for your information, the TBCTO is the table for the status of the jobs. So, every job need
to write the status in this table and also lock this table firstly.

I dont know what kind of error this is.
But i tried to figure it out, but no use.
Could anyone tell methe reason for this error, and the soltion please.
Kindly reply me, its very urgent. Its in QA system, need to move to production.
thanks in advance,
KKTalk to yous Basis guy he can increase the limit of the lock table parameters.
Note: 746138
Symptom
This note describes the subsequent analysis performed to determine the cause of a lock table overflow.
Other terms
enque, enqueue, lock table overflow, ENQ_OVERFLOW, 16, EnquServerException
Reason and Prerequisites
The maximum number of locks in the lock table is subject to an upper limit that is set by profile parameters. The enque/table_size parameter determines the size of the lock table in KBs. You can use transaction SM12 -> Extras -> Statistics to determine both the maximum number and current number of entries.
A lock table overflow may occur if:
the lock table configuration is too small
an application sets lots of locks
the update hangs and, as a result, numerous locks inherited by the update task exist
Up to now, subsequent analysis could not be performed to determine which lock types and which lock owners mainly contributed to the lock table overflow. -
Error: Lock server exists, but is not addressed:
Hi,
I am getting below error when I executed diagnosis in sm12
Error: Lock server exists, but is not addressed

Kindly provide solution.
Regards,
Yogesh CheulkarDear Juan,
We have maintained enque parameters in ASCS80 profile and restarted SAP.
Still we are facing the same error.
The parameters which we have maintained are as below:
enque/table_size = 50000
rdisp/enqname = $(rdisp/myname)
rdisp/myname = SIDci_SID_00
The last parameter rdisp/myname = SIDci_SID_00 from above list is also maintained in instance profile of ci and application server as well as in default profile.
The parameter rdisp/enqname = $(rdisp/myname) is also present in SCS10 profile.
Please guide us on maintaining these parameters as it is maintained in almost all profiles.

Lock table overflow Error in BD91
Hi Sapper's,
Can anyone please tell me how to rectify the below error which occurs for me in T-Code - BD91.
MC603: Lock table overflow in T-Code BD91
Also please help me how to change the size of the profile parameter 'enque/table_size'
Please reply immeidately.
Regards,
Kumar.SDear,
Lock table overflows means that their are too many locks in the system at that point in time. Check SM12 to see these locks. Is your program causing all these locks or is it something else.
Please take help from technical person.

A system error has occured while locking
Message no. M3021 : A system error has occured while locking
I get this message in TCODE MM42 (IS RETAIL) after mass updating articles using TCODE MM46.
The lock table size was increased from 4 MB to 10 MB and still the issue occurs. It looks the lock table can store only 3600 entries, is there a way to increase number of entries.
Thanks
Jagadhish NatarajanFirst, is this mass update going to happen on reguarly?
If no - you may want to further increase enque/table_size until it can finish this one-time run of the mass update.
If yes - you may want to work with your SAP basis guy and read note 13907. From your side, you may need to reduce the volume of this mass update. From the basis side, they need to determine a proper size for the enqueue table size. -
"Lock table overflow" error msg when trying to change a repot program
hi ABAP experts,
We are getting the following error msg
"Lock table overflow
Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'.".
Click the question mark on the same error msg window, then the detailed error msg would like this:
Message no. MC603
Diagnosis
This table overflowed when trying to enter SAP locks in the lock table.
System Response
The locks could not be set.
Procedure
Contact your system administrator. If this error occurs frequently, change the size of the profile parameter 'enque/table_size'. This parameter defines the size of the lock table in KByte.
What would be the reason and how to resolve this problem?

Edited by: Alvaro Tejada Galindo on Apr 2, 2008 1:03 PMHi,
This could be bcos the lock table is getting overflowed beyond the allotted space. Check if any other program/BAPI is causing continuous creation of locks.
To analyze choose (SM12) Extras Statistics to display the statistics. These are the statistics that have been compiled since the last time the lock server was restarted.
Check the below link for more information on SAP Lock Concept.
