Entering Data (Typing) into AppleTV

I'm considering buying an AppleTV and a big use will be Netflix.  I want to be able to search for shows buy title, actor, etc.  On my old AppleTV, I had to 'type' by using the remote to scroll between letters on a keyboard displayed on the TV.  This was hugely inconviently for me.
With AppleTV 2, is there a better way to 'type'.  Maybe an app for an iDevice or my Macbook?

The Remote app is the way to go, but note that you can't search by actor in ATV
If you know of a movie that the actor in question was in, and if it is available in iTunes, you can go to that movie's "more" section and browse other movies in the iTunes store that the selected actor was in.

  • Have a problem in Numbers with entering data directly into a cell when a table reaches a certain size and special characters are used?

I am creating a list of words with special characters in some of them. I get to a point where I cannot enter data directly into the cell. I have to use the data entry bar at the top in the toolbar. Any solutions available?
This is the table I am creating...
From row 25 on, I am only able to enter data into the cell through the toolbar at the top and not directly into the cell itself. I believe that this problem originates from the special characters I have inserted in the previous records because if I do not use special characters, then the spreadsheet acts flawlessly. Have there been issues in Numbers with data entry, the size of a table, and using special characters?

I would try removing the rows with "special" characters one at a time to see which one is causing the problem

  • Saving data typed into a PDF

    Hi folks,
There's probably a million questions like this one but I can't concentrate enough right now to try to go through everything.
I made a list in Excel, exported it as a PDF.
Opened in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
Went through the Start Form Wizard, all worked nicely, put all my check boxes and fields in where I wanted.
Save it - and then open it in Adobe Reader.
"You cannot save data typed into this form.  Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records."
After some careful googling, I discover to be able to make a form that is savable, I need Adobe LiveCycle.  So I scout around on my work computer and discover I do in fact have LiveCyle Designer ES 8.2.
Now what?  I do not know what I'm meant to tick in this program to make my PDF savable by other people.
I appreciate your time and patience!  Hopefully it's a super easy question and that I feel like an idiot for asking
    Kind regards,
    --Sasha

    Hi Sasha,
Using Acrobat, you can create forms that are called AcroForms. The forms created in LC Designer are called XFA (XML Forms Architecture) and are more data centric. While both will open in Acrobat, they are completely different animals.
The issue with users not being able to save the data with Reader is that the form is not Reader Enabled. You can Reader Enable a form using one of two methods:
Reader Enable the form using Acrobat Professional (V8 or below) or Acrobat Standard (V9 or above). Note there are licensing restrictions.
Reader Enable the form using the full server product Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2.5. This involves additional licensing fees.
Have a look here: http://assure.ly/etkFNU, at the features that are available depending on whether the user has Acrobat or Reader; if the form is Reader Enabled; and how the form was Reader Enabled.
The issue of Reader Enabling would also apply to AcroForms.
I don't think that you need to dive into LC Designer just yet, as forms created in LC Designer face the same issues about Reader Enabling as forms developed in Acrobat.
If your usage complies with the EULA, then you could Reader Enable your form in Acrobat.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • I cannot save data typed into an Adobe form sent to me..??

I have been sent an Adobe Form that is a Tender Document that I need to complete.  When I open the Document is states in the top left-hand corner the following...."Please fill out the following form.  You cannot save data typed into this form.
Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records."

What does the creator of the file need to do to make the form fillable? OR is there a program Bob8527 can download to fill in the form and email?
    Please advise.
    Thanks

  • You cannot save data typed into this form

    Hi,
I created a small interactive form using transaction SFP and I included this form into a WDA application.
The data I am pushing from the system into the form is visualized, but there is also an error message stating:
You cannot save data typed into this form.
Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records.
At first I thought something was wrong with my credentials, but after requesting new credentials this message still appears.
Does anybody know what is causing this message and how I can fix it?
    Thanks
    Mario

    Hi.
    1. Are you able to generate an interactive form with the save option through a report program or by WDJ or were you able to view an interactive form by any means with your current credential configuration -> i am asking this coz eventhough you have the right credential, cases can be that it is not properly installed. (check out the standard WDA examples)
    2. try using ZCI and xACF layouts. (for ZCI generate the scripts)
3 . Check if the form properties is set to interactive form.
    4. Check if you have the generated xml in the interface of your form.
Hope you have checked these already.
    Rgds,
    Anto.

  • Why do some people get "you cannot save data typed into this form" using FormsCentral fillable PDF?

Hello.  We're using FormsCentral extensively.  We create the fillable PDF and send it to about 80 people.  Each of them is adding content and saving and then passing on to another person for further content.  Ultimately, all parties are happy with the content and submit.  The problem is that some of the people open the PDF and get the message ""you cannot save data typed into this form".  What is causing this?  Please help as it is causing us many problems.

Thanks for the quick response.  We distribute the form to 80 people who fill it out and create 80 versions.  They then pass the form to one other person who edits.  All 80 forms, once complete, are submitted to FormsCentral.
I think the problem is with Mac users.  Is there anything unusual about the Mac with Adobe Reader?  If you provide your email address, I can send you one of the filled out forms that is having this issue.  It's quite odd in that the fillable fields don't show up until clicked on and the form is not saveable.
    Thanks!

  • Want to use iPad to enter data directly into database

The non-profit I work for collects a significant amount of field data while conducting energy audits of buildings around the city. We're looking into options that would simplify and speed up the process of data entry, and we're (clearly) thinking about switching to an iPad.
Are there apps that would allow us to enter data destined for an Access database directly into an iPad without 3G when we don't have wireless access in buildings? Would we need 3G for this to work? The end goal of using any device would just be to get all the data into the right place, not analyze it - are there any other devices you would suggest that might do that more effectively (cheaply?) than an iPad?

Thanks KeithJenner for using and mentioning "Database Viewer Plus".
Frothi, As "KeithJenner" has already used our "Database Viewer Plus" which directly synchronizes with MS Access. "Database Viewer Plus" will allow you to collect field data while conducting energy audits of buildings around the city and update it wirelessly in your Access database directly.
Even if iPad is without 3G when you don't have wireless access in buildings, you can work with your data on iPad and later changes can be submit to your Access database when 3G is available.
Advantage of "Database Viewer Plus" is that you have to just select your MS Access database tables and sync from iPad. "Database Viewer Plus" has additional feature of Forms. Design Forms for your Energy audits and let the user use those forms on iPad.
Also Enterprise version provides controlled data access (Role base Access Control) for field employees via iPhones , iPads , Blackberries, Android phones, Symbian.
Try the Lite version from the following link.

If you have any question about "Database Viewer Plus", You can write us at [email protected]

  • Spliting user entered date range into u201CFrom Date u201C and u201C To dateu201D-user exit

    Hi,
In the query i have a created a popup variable for date range for which the processing type is customer exit. When the user exceutes the query he gets the popup for the date range with the default values. The default values are set one month backward.
For example: if today is 5/19/2008, then the popup date range shows 4/19/2008 to 5/19/2008.
Already there is an user exit written for the same.
Now the requirement is i need to split From date and to date entered by user and use them in seperate selections to restrict the keyfigure in the keyfigure column of the query.
Can anyone throw a light on this, how to go about?
Shall i need to create two different variables from date and two date and populate the values, if yes how can i do that ?
    Thanks,
    Rani.

    Hello Rani,
                     Check this code,
var1 is already existing variable with values from date and to date values.
ztest1 is the first customer exit single variable,
ztest2 is the second customer exit variable.
ztest1 and ztest2 you can use these variables in the restricted keyfigures which you have mentioned.
    when 'ztest1'.
        if i_step = 2. "after the popup
          loop at i_t_var_range into loc_var_range
          where vnam = 'var1'.
            clear l_s_range.
            l_s_range-low = loc_var_range-low.
            l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
            l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
            append l_s_range to e_t_range.
            exit.
          endloop.
        endif.
    when 'ztest2'.
        if i_step = 2. "after the popup
          loop at i_t_var_range into loc_var_range
          where vnam = 'var1'.
            clear l_s_range.
            l_s_range-low = loc_var_range-high.
            l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
            l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
            append l_s_range to e_t_range.
            exit.
          endloop.
        endif.
    hope it helps,

  • Data typed into this form will not be saved.  Adobe Reader can only save a blank copy of this form.

This message is new.  I have never had this issue before on my system.  3 days ago I created a PDF using LiveCycle Designer ES2 at my office - exactly like I have done for the past 2 years - and now I get this message when I try to open the PDF on my home system.  I have always been able to work with these files until today.  Yesterday I installed Office 365 and now I apparently have Reader XI on my system.  Now every form I was able to open in the past will not allow data to save.  What's the deal?

    * This PDF form restricts some operations
This is all odd as this form is designed explicity with digital signatures, and has always worked; hundreds of people have used this form extensively since late 2012, and I have tested it hundreds of times - it has always worked, never had this issue.  Unfortunately every PC in my home has Reader XI installed as of today (no Standard or Pro versions) and I will have to hunt for PCs that have only Reader (no Pro or Standard) at work.

  • Pop up message "Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form..."

I'm using InDesign CS2 to add some functionality to a pdf. Mostly buttons that I've used to create links to pages inside the document.
When I open the exported pdf I get the unwanted message above, with a little pink icon in upper left hand corner of Acrobat 9.
Any way to get rid of this?
When I save the document with the functionality turned off, it's not there. So obviously there is something amiss when the functionality is added back in. But I really have no idea.

If you're only adding buttons with links, there is no reason to add any of the extra functionality for Reader users.
Just create the links and make sure that you choose to include links when exporting from ID.

  • Saving date typed into a form

Good evening.  I'm having trouble saving information in a form.  The form is from a DMV website.  When I save it, it shows me a page directing me to download a version of Adobe that I've already downloaded.

Sorry, can you explain that in some other words - I simply cannot understand what you wrote.  You want to save, but it makes you download something...?
Also, what is your operating system and Reader version?

  • Allow agent to enter data into agent desktop?

    Hi Guys,
wondering  if anyone can comment on this.  our customer is looking for a way to enter data /code into CAD as the call arrives based on teh user issue.
for example, lets say we define a code in script or workflow/enterprise data some how (not sure if this can be done) a code 60 for users who has 'internet issues'.  so as soon as teh agent mention that issue we can catagorize this call into code 60. so agent would choose (from drop down menu in cad from the available such codes) or manually type in the code?
then Historical reporting can be used to pull all the calls with those codes associated.
is it possible? pls let me know.
    vijay

wrap up code is one option..also another option is to include it in the enterprise data as it shown here in this youtube video.

  • Entering Data into AppleTV

It is unbelievably frustrating to enter Data ( Passwords, network settings) into AppleTv. Has anyone found a way around this? I cannot understand why data cannot be entered like any other client on a network...make it hardwired only...(that should solve security issues).
I have now spent about 5 hours trying to figure out what is going on and reentering data...very frustrating!!!
How do we leave feedback for Apple?

    Brett Grossmann wrote:
done once and then you are off to the races.
Yes...that is what I thought until I had to change some settings. With static IP addresses and WPA2 security ( I try to take Apple at it's word that they are security conscious) there should be a better way of inputting data like this...besides...if it is easier to change it encourages users to make security a concern and change things every now and again...is this not what the gurus of the net suggest in any case? I will not stop loving Apple...but every now and again they have just not thought things through.

  • Cannot enter data into table with column named DATE

I have a table as follows:
    CREATE TABLE PACKINGLINE (
    SNO VARCHAR2(13),
    "DATE" DATE DEFAULT SYSDATE,
    PRDORDNO VARCHAR2(12),
    NOW DATE DEFAULT SYSDATE,
    CONSTRAINT PACKINGLINE_PK PRIMARY KEY ("SNO", "DATE"));
Note the "cleaverly" named DATE and NOW columns (yes, that is the name of the column... our company was bessed with a very clear SQL server DBA in the past)
    This SQL statement works:
    INSERT INTO PACKINGLINE (SNO, PRDORDNO) VALUES ('1000808972', '100080897');
However when I try use SQL Developer as follows I cannot enter data:
    1. Open SQL Developer
    2. Click on "Tables" then on my table named PACKINGLINE
    3. Click the "Data" tab
    4. Click the [+] "Insert Row" Icon
    5. Enter the same data as above
    6. Click Commit
    7. The following error is shown in the log window and I cannot commit the data change.
    Error message
    ==================
INSERT INTO "DBO"."PACKINGLINE" (SNO, PRDORDNO) VALUES ('1000808971', '100080897')
One error saving changes to table "DBO"."PACKINGLINE":
    Row 5: ORA-06550: Row 1、Column 25:
    PL/SQL: ORA-06552: PL/SQL: Compilation unit analysis terminated
ORA-06553: PLS-320: the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed
    ORA-06550: Row 1、Column 7:
    PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
    ==================
I can copy and paste the above query into a normal SQL statement window and the data commits fine.

Its so flaky there really must be something wrong Mr Adobe support person....
If I load a PDF, do nothing, gently save it, reopen and then waiting for my trial dialogue to wake up so that I can click on continue trial... then save as extended reader blah.... then close. I have finally saved one that works!!!! but how difficult is that????
    WHAT IS WRONG ADOBE??
