Enterprise activation 8900

I am having trouble activating my (new) Curve 8900 to sync wirelessly with Outlook.
We have a Blackberry Enterprise Server and I have been issued with the password (a new one).
I entered my email address and the password, but it give an error message that says 'contact your administrator' which is not exactly intuitive. I also tried it by adding the server details but had the same problem.
The first time I synched via my laptop and that worked, so when I removed the cable and experienced the above, I though I did something wrong during the setup so I wiped the blackberry and tried again. Same problem as above and I have not connected it to the laptop yet.
I checked with our company who confirmed that my SIM is activated for data. The collection starts when I put it in an old Blackberry device.
Any advice will be really welcomed.
Thanks
Jacques

DO you know if you have a regular BlackBerry data plan, or the BES plan? If you have the regular data plan then the enterprise activation won't work. You could also have your IT department issue you a new password. Unless yur company is setup differently, the password usually expire after one use

  • Enterprise Activation screen pops up when unlocking device...

This has started happening to around 6 of my users. When they are unlocking their 8900's the Enterprise Activation screen pops up (with no information filled in) We run BES5.0 and these devices have been activated for atleast 12 months. No changers have been made to the server or policies in over a month. Has anyone else experienced this? Obviously all they have to do is close it, but then it comes back next time they unlock the device. Thanks, Edd...

I just found this over at blackberryforums, it seems a reactivation of the device would appear to solve the issue...I'll give it a try later today if I have time, TGIF!

  • Enterprise activation after wipe out

    Hello,
    I have a problem.
I had an old BB curve 8900, am I had some problems with it and I decided to buy another one.
On my old BB 8900I had Enterprise activation account.I received a new password and ALL the things I had on my old phone were synchronized on my new one. AND I don't want that. So I've wipe out my phone. But surprise when I entered my Enterprise activation account all the previous things that I wiped out were on my new wiped out BB curve 8900.
    I don't want that. I want a new fresh BB !!!
Please help me, how can I wipe out everything, activate this account and have a fresh start.
PS: I love this function, I love that all my contacts, mails etc were there, but I just want to copy a part of them.
(I'm doing this because a while ago I've changed the language of the phone and in the upper right corner is a mark with "EN" and I really hate it, and I want it gone, but every time I change the phone, wipe it out, he reappears)...

    Hello nuuvreau,
    Welcome to the forums.
If you are looking to start from scratch on your Enterprise Activation then you will need to talk to your BlackBerry Enterprise Server admin to see if they can disable the message pre population on activation.
Have a look at this thread regarding the "En" symbol you are seeing on your BlackBerry smartphone.
"EN" icon on top right hand corner of my screen

  • Blackberry Bold 9900 / Enterprise Activation

Thank you in advance for your help with this matter.
I have purchased the Blackberry bold 9900 smart phone couple of days ago.
Not an expert myself but expected better from our own IT Dept…seems that they need help themselves.
Not certain how to find enterprise activation icon on blackberry 9900 bold.  Usually this is what I do:
    Options>>device>>advanced System Setting>>Enterprise setting.
For some odd reason…enterprise setting is not there.  It is not also under set up…just the web based emails setting.
I have tried the wipe out but nothing changed.
Would be grateful if someone could be kind please to tell me what to do.
Thanks so much for your time.

You can dowload the Enterprise activation App from the below link, but make sure that the your number has the proper data plan, and the device registered  with your carrier.

  • Help!! please email setup requesting enterprise activation after factory reset

after i did a factory reset i notice my email set up is requesting enterprise activation email and password i don't have either so now my email setup can't work unless i do it and my native browser won't connect and blackberry protect won't work. i registered the blackberry thru hosting and i got your blackberry is registered but i can't get the other apps to work since i need the enterprise activation.

i got the phone from ebay so i don't know if it's on BES and as far as a blackberry data plan i have verizon prepaid and i activated the phone thru them with no problem and i signed up for BIS with no issues but i don't remember the password to get the service books sent to my phone. the phone just stop working a couple of days ago i have had it since october with no issues until now. the first thing i notice was i stopped getting email and it said my service was blocked so i did a battery pull that didn't work. then i did a security swipe and now i can't access the email setup or the browser and it says that i don't have a data plan needed to use it which i don't get since i have had no problems since october. i was told on by someone that maybe i was over my data but i just looked and saw i wasn't and it rolled back since i paid on the 24. this is like the 3rd incident since switching from post paid to prepaid it is making me want to switch carriers

  • Cannot Enterprise Activation - Desktop manager 5.0.1

    Hi,
I want to perfomr wired enterprise activation of my BB device on lab setup,
    Things I do not have
I donot haveGSM/Edge  Blackberry plan and not register with any service provider
Since I'm testing BB in my test lab, my exchange is confined to test lab environment and do not have public dns entry like MX record and cannot route emails from internet
    Thing I have,
VMWare - Exchange Server 2003 Sp2 on IWndows Server 2003 R2 SP2 , Domain controller, BES Express 5.0.2 ( 2 free license), XP client with Desktop manager 5.0.1
    One BB device for testing.
Internet connection to BES Infrastructure ( resolve - ca.srp.blackberry.com - PASSED)
    Question,
    1. With the above setup can I perform the wired  Enterprise activation(EA) using Desktop manager 5.0.1?
I'm unable to perform EA using desktop manager 5.0.1
    Appreciate your response,

    HI Jamead1981,
Please refer teh link - http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB21124
This link says you can either directly attach the BB device to BES and perform the enterprise activation. Hence BB plan would be necessary if wireless activation is performed. For wired , you can attach the device to BES server and perform activation.

  • Blackberry Enterprise Activation for Nokia devices

    Hello,
My company's policy for the activation of BlackBerry devices is to go through wireless Enterprise Activation.
This option does not seem to be available in the BlackBerry setup screens of the Nokia E70.
    1. Does anyone know if Enterprise Activation is supposed to be available on Nokia devices?
    2. If not, what should be done by our IT administrator (on either BES or Exchange) to allow the activation via the BlackBerry Connect Desktop application to work?
    Regards,
    Yata

You can most certaily connect your E61-1 to a BES server as long as you use the Blackberry connect desktop application and PC suite together on the computer that has the MS-exchange e-mail accout setup on it in outlook. We have our onw Blackberry server and I have set it up on an E61 for a staff member with no problems at all using the software mentioned before.Message Edited by serenity on 06-Feb-2007

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard.
    Good luck!

  • Enterprise Activation on Tour

On a new Tour purchased from Verizon yesterday, Options > Advanced Options > Enterprise Activation is missing.
Downloaded the User Guide and Getting Started Guide and there's no reference to "Enterprise Activation" being moved.
Any ideas on which menu this feature is located?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Which data plan did you get w/ the Tour?  If you didn't get the BES (Enterprise) Data plan, the service book(s) for EA won't be sent down to your device.  If you did get the enterpise data, give Verizon a call, they'll be able to take care of it for you...

  • Switching from Enterprise activation to Personal email

I just got a blackberry curve 9300 and wanted to link my personal email, but the only option I get under Setup > Email accont is "Enterprise Activation".
How can I switch this, or at least have the choice with Personal email.
    Thank you

    Found this link:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Curve/Get-past-Enterprise-Activation-to-set-up-Per...
Basically, you have to have the right Data Plan from your carrier in order for Personal mail (POP3 etc.) to be available.

  • Enterprise activation is the only email option

I'm not sure what else I have to do as I have registered the blackberry and the only option I get to set up an email account is an enterprise activation. I see the blackberry symbol in the upper right hand corner of the screen as well. I would simply like to set up my personal email account. Also, I cannot text pictures as the only options I have are email and pin, which I'm assuming is related. Please advise. Thanks

Which model BlackBerry do you have?  Which OS version are you running?

  • Enterprise Activation Trashed?

I have a Hosted Exchange Server account through a third party provider.  It has worked great until two days ago, when I downloaded and installed a new set of Verizon Wireless apps. All of a sudden, no emails arrive via this account and my tasks/calendar no longer sync.  I tried all of the troubleshooting, but I'm stymied because there is no longer a place to select "Enterprise Activation" for an email account.
Is this a coincidence, or is Verizon blocking Hosted Exchange (other than its own, of course)?

Hello Labanimal and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your email account.
What applications did you recently download?
Are you able to send email from this account or can you neither receive and send from it?
Was this email initially integrated using BlackBerry Enterprise Server or were you using Outlook Web Access using BlackBerry Internet Service?
If you could send me a private message with the email account and your device PIN, I can do an investigation for you.
    Thanks!

  • Enterprise activation code

Can any body help i bought an unlocked curve 8520 from a friend and i cant use bbm or the app world i dont seem to have an enterprise activation code where can i get one im lost

    Hello,
Unless you are on corporate/BES, then anything to do with Enterprise is something you should be avoiding entirely. Plus, that screen has to do with email, not BBM. So I'm quite lost as well, since you have multiple different topics all jumbled together there.
What I'd suggest you do is first contact your mobile service provider and ensure a two things:
    1) That your specific BB model number is specifically and fully supported on their network for all BB-proprietary services...if it's not, then you likely should just stop and re-think what you are attempting to do.
    2) If your BB model number is fully supported, ensure that you are subscribed, from your carrier, to a data plan that is adequate to enable the various services you desire to use. All BB services are delivered as part of a service plan from the carrier...so you must subscribe to the services in order to use them.
See how that goes and let us know!
