Enterprise Voice Features

Hi All,
What are the 5 features need to be disable and recommended by Microsoft when we are using Enterprise Voice.
Regards
Sandy

Hi,
There is no need to disable the features for Enterprise Voice.
The Enterprise Voice features: Call Forwarding, Delegation, Response Groups, Call Park and Private Lines. You can deploy them all by your requirement.

  • Lync delegate access without Enterprise Voice enabled

I need the delegate access functionality but due to our current configuration we do not (yet) have enterprise voice setup or enabled. We have assistants that are scheduling meetings on behalf of others and need the conferencing functionality. I
have only been able to get this work when the enterprise voice is enabled for the delegate, does any one know of a workaround that I can use and not have to enable enterprise voice??
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Agree with Matt. The feature is not available without enabling Enterprise Voice.

  • Outlook Delegate Showing up in Lync even when Enterprise Voice is disabled

Hi, we have encountered an issue in our testing phase of Lync 2013 deployment.
Users are noticing after they sign into Lync for the first time they are getting messages saying "You were added as a delegate for Employee Name".
These users were at some point in time, set as a delegate for Employee Name, but delegation has since been removed. If we go into the Employee's Outlook and check their delegate settings nothing is listed there.
What's even more perplexing (and nonsensical from a design point of view) is that since we do not have Enterprise Voice in our environment, users aren't able to go into Lync and delete/manage delegates. Without EV enabled, the "Call Forwarding"
tab in Options does not show. Why would the management of delegates not be available in Options if the Lync Client is still able to perform delegation of Lync Calls? What a silly oversight.
Not only that, but why would Lync even pull delegation settings from Outlook when a user isn't even enabled for Enterprise Voice? So someone wants to give access to their calendar, they are automatically giving rights to that person to make Lync calls on
their behalf too? I don't see any option in Outlook delegates that manages these permissions. This simply doesn't make sense and I'm dumbfounded as to why MS wouldn't have fixed this in 2013, considering it was also an issue in 2010:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/3dbfb19a-c8dd-4d66-bba3-c9865a457625/how-do-i-remove-a-lync-delegation
Is there some other way to remove ghost delegates from Lync user accounts?
Environment is Lync 2013 Standard + Exchange / Outlook 2010.

You can use the Tool SEFAUTil.
This tool can modify delegation settings.
For detailed steps, you can refer to the following blog:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/scottstu/archive/2014/03/30/configuring-delegation-for-lync-users-that-are-not-enterprise-voice-enabled.aspx
To remove a delegate, use the parameter /removedelegate instead of /adddelegate in the blog.

  • Enterprise Voice and Lync Meeting Outlook Add-In, Dial in Numbers

I ran across something that I was unaware of and wanted to double check here.
Background:  I am running a two pool Lync 2013 Enterprise Deployment with an OCS pool being phased out.  All users are migrated to Lync backend using the OCS client but our conferencing numbers still exist on the OCS deployment.
As man know, when you upgrade to the Lync client, it removes the Outlook add-in for conferencing and places a single button for scheduling conference calls and meetings.  Ideally, depending on the pool the user is on, the information that is populated
in the meeting request comes from the pool they are assigned to.
I have found that without enabling Enterprise Voice and setting the voice policy to Automatic, Outlook will still use the OCS numbers in the meeting request.  Once I enable EV for a user and set the VP to Auto, they receive the correct numbers based
    on pool registrar.
I am still currently searching but what I would like is confirmation that I do need to enable Enterprise Voice with Voice Policy set to automatic to have Outlook obtain the correct numbers for the pool any user is registered to.

I don’t believe the enable Enterprise Voice and assigning a dial plan can change the behavior of the Outlook add-in.
    The process is like this:
The conference organizer uses Microsoft® Outlook® to schedule a conference, and then Outlook communicates with Microsoft Lync Server 2010 by using an Outlook add-in that is included as part of the Microsoft® Lync™ 2010 installation. Outlook
uses the information supplied by the server to create a new invitation, which includes a conference URL for attendees who are joining the conference by using one of the supported Lync clients, and telephone numbers and a conference ID for attendees who are
    joining by phone.
When you mentioned OCS numbers, did you refer to Lync dial-in access number or conference ID?

  • Why is the scroll function not working after accessing the voice feature in settings?

Why is the scroll function not working after accessing the voice feature in settings?

For some prerecorded audio files the Transpose slider will not work reliably. I found no clear pattern, when it does and when not.
If all fails, create a loop from the audio file. Select the region in the track and use the command "File: Add region to Loop library".
Set the current key and tempo, name the loop, and save the loop.
Now add it from the loop browser to a new track and delete your old track. The search field in the Loop browser will help you to find the loop quickly.
You will be able to transpose the sample as described above, like a regular loop.
For example - a audio file turned into a loop and transposed:

  • Test Enterprise Voice using existing PBX

Hi- I have a standard Lync deployment. Also have a VoIP system using a Mitel 3300 ICP. Do you know of a way to use the Mitel to test Lync Enterprise Voice without interrupting my current VoIP service?
    Thanx
You should never, never doubt what nobody is sure about. -Willy Wonka

I'm not a Mitel expert by any means, but I have worked with Mitel experts to connect a SIP trunk from a 3300 ICP to Lync.  It's not qualified for 2013, but it works well enough for a test and was qualified for 2010:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dn788945
You'll likely have to license the SIP trunks based on the number of concurrent calls you'd like to pass through the systems.
    There's  a guide here:
    http://blog.insidelync.com/2014/03/direct-sip-integration-between-mitel-communications-director-mcd-and-microsoft-lync-server-2013/
But basically, you set up a trunk between Mitel and Lync, pick a few numbers, send the calls for those numbers from Mitel to Lync and allow outbound calls from Lync.

  • How can I disable the new voice feature in iMessage?

iMessage is great and I use it a lot, but I hate the new voice feature. I don't want anyone to be able to send me a voice message. I think it's extremely pushy. If someone wants to talk to me, he should give me a call. Then I can decide whether I answer the call or not. How can I disable this without completly disabling iMessage?

I'm pretty sure there's no way to prevent this, just like there's no way to prevent a text message or picture/video message.  If you don't want to listen to it, delete it, and text them back and tell them you don't like voice messages and they need to call you and leave a voicemail.

  • Lync Enterprise Voice Deployment - Can't get SIP trunks to work

    Hey guys,
So i'm doing a proof-of-concept for Lync 2013 Enterprise voice. I've just purchased two sip trunks with 3 DIDs. I've followed their directions but have had no luck making outgoing PSTN numbers. I always get the error message "Disconnected service unavailable".
I did some troubleshooting with their tech support, did some logging with Lync & gave them our SIP Logs.
Here is what they told me back:
I have reviewed the log and found the following:
    Your logs state the below:
    Direction: outgoing;source="local"
    Peer: lync2013.network.caedm.ca:5070
    sip:[email protected]:5070
ß this particular line states to send the call of 780-719-8033 to 208.82.88.120 at port 5070. Please change this to port 5060.
In your outbound To field you have the following:
    To: <sip:7807198033;phone-context=[email protected];user=phone>;epid=EC06E70A33;tag=b91b46715a
Please change this to reflect: To:
    sip:[email protected];user=phone>;epid=EC06E70A33;tag=b91b46715a
Where can I set the outgoing port to 5060? In the topology builder I have already configured the listening port under "PSTN gateway" to be TCP 5060. I don't see anything in the topology builder relating to outgoing ports, only "listening ports".
    Thanks.

Looks exactly the same as mine. (I also use a SIP trunk.)
I assume you can ping the SIP provider from your mediation server? (and telnet to TCP 5060) without any issue.
    Sorry, try netstat -ano
You should have some entries that look this: (where 10.0.0.3 is your mediation servers local IP)

  • Monitoring without deploying Enterprise Voice?

If I'm not deploying Enterprise Voice will there be any benefit to the Monitoring role? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Agree with Anthony, there is no special relationship between Enterprise Voice and Monitoring role. You can refer to the link of “Deploying Monitoring” to deploy Lync Server Monitoring role to help you monitor the information of Lync Server:

  • Agent "User" is not enabled for enterprise voice. Only Enterprise Voice users can receive Response Group calls.

I have standard edition Lync 2013 deployed. I have also enabled enterprise Voice for all my users.
When I try to create a response group under group tab, I add the enterprise voice enabled users to the group and click on commit I get this warning:
Agent "User" is not enabled for enterprise voice. Only Enterprise Voice users can receive Response Group calls.
This is clearly a glitch since the users are already enabled for enterprise voice. Has anyone come across this issue before?
    Thanks

Have you tried restarting the Response Group service? Are you able to add any EV enabled users to this RGS?

  • Voice features

Anyone know if the new voice features are iPhone 3GS only or will work also on an iPhone 3G after the 3.0 upgrade?
    Thanks!
    Bobs

that ***! I was wondering the same thing.
any reason as to why it won't be compatible?
the iphone has a built-in microphone already, able to do voice memos and records, wouldn't the voice recognition work?

  • Dial out without Enterprise Voice

I see that the enterprise CAL includes:
    Initiate/Schedule ad-hoc multi-party (3+) audio conference (including dial-out to PSTN and/or PBX user)
I am able to dial in (from PSTN) to a conference. However, when I launch a meeting from the meet URL and choose to call me at my extension (1234) I get error:
    Cannot locate 1234.
When I turn on enterprise voice for my user and do the same test the call goes through fine to my extension.

While dial-out is officially 'unsupported' by Microsoft for non-EV users:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/nexthop/archive/2011/06/20/lync-server-2010-join-meeting-audio-scenarios.aspx
It can be done (and I'm doing) through this method:

  • After upgrade from SP2010 Foundation to Enterprise, services/features are missing

    Hi
I recently upgraded the SharePoint 2010 Foundation, that was installed with TFS 2012, to Enterprise. The upgrade went through.  The Products and Configuration wizard ran through to 100% without errors, however there are no Enterprise services available
on the Services on server page.
The main ones that I'm missing (that I really wanted to use) are:
    Secure Store
    Managed Metadata
    Web analytics
    SharePoint Server Search
    Excel Services
These ones are there (these are non foundation as far as I'm aware)
    PerformancePoint services
User Profile and User Profiles Sync
    Business Data Connectivity
Also the service applications for the missing services are also missing, where as the services applications for the present services are available to be provisioned.
I've tried re-running the following commands:
    Psconfig -cmd helpcollections
    Psconfig -cmd services -install
    Psconfig -cmd installfeatures
    Psconfig -cmd applicationcontent -install
I've also run that Enable upgraded features option in Central Admin that goes through the web apps/Site collections and sites and enables all the enterprise features. That did nothing.
    Any ideas?

    Run:
    Install-SPService
That will install all services on the farm.

  • Howto disable Enterprise Edition features per schema

We develop software that uses Oracle 11gR2 as the back end.  In all of our internal development environments, we use Enterprise Edition, with all the packs, which we are licensed for, which gives us the ability to test various EE features that may/may not get included in future versions of our product, gives us Flashback Database in case the devs make a mistake, and gives us the ability to preformance monitor our environments using Enterprise Manager & Tuning Pack.
However, almost all of our customers use Standard Edition or Standard Edition One due to costs, and we have never developed a feature in our software that was dependent on an Enterprise Edition option/feature. (We only recently installed EE in our internal development environments).
My concern is that, with the availability of EE in development environments, developers may inadvertently use a feature of the database that is Enterprise only, and we will not discover this until the new version/service pack is deployed to a customer site that is only Standard Edition.  Is there any way to limit EE features on a per schema basis (e.g. bitmap indexes, partitioning, materialized views etc, and other features that a developer is likely to implement because they googled it, and it "works" in our dev db), whilst still giving me, the dba, the EE only features of RMAN, Tuning/diagnostic pack and flashback?

First, rman is NOT an "ee-only" feature.
There is no way I know of to limit features to a particular schema and if there were, I can visualize how it probably wouldn't achieve everything you are looking for.  Why not have two development platforms .. one with EE for early development, and the second with SE for final pre-release acceptance testing?  And on the first, it would be almost trivial to create a daily job to check for use of "forbidden" (EE-only) features.
