Entitlements and portal menu

Hi,
we created an Entitlement based in a role that compares a Session
Property Set's property value to "someValue".
We applied that Entitlement to a book within the portal desktop and
checked the View capability.
A Pageflow portlet in the header of the shell sets "someValue" or
"someOtherValue" in the Http Session according to the drop-down
selection submitted by the user.
We expected that when "someOtherValue" is submitted and set in the
Http Session the book should not appear in the portal menu.
But the book gets hidden only after the next interaction with the
portal (a click in some menu item, a refresh in the browser etc).
- What is the moment when the Portal engine applies Entitlements to
resources?
- How to refresh the entitled resources collection (books and pages)
after setting some value in the Http Session?
Thanks,
Eduardo.

Hello Eduardo,
I am no expert in the portal lifecycle but I can see that the entitlements were evaluated and then the pageflow executed so it seems like a solution would be to send a redirect from your pageflow after you set the property that effects visitor entitlements: http://beehive.apache.org/docs/1.0.2/netui/apidocs/javadoc/org/apache/beehive/netui/pageflow/annotations/Jpf.Forward.html#redirect()
This use case is similar to logging in a user. After you authenticate a user you should always redirect back to the portal because who knows what is left over from evaluating entitlements before you authenticate them... the user could have been logged in as someone else prior to another login.

  • Alias to iView and portal menu dependency - urgent

    Hello All
    I've created iView for WDJ application, and given it alias, so it can be accesed via https://my.portal.com/irj/portal/MyAppAlias. It works ok, but I'd like to open this app with portal menus (those, which normally lead to this app) to be highlighted and open just like in case when user clicks it. Menu is simple, top tab is role, then upper menu from workset and iView gives left panel menu to clik.
    Is it possible to access application directly keeping menus properly handled?
    Best regards
    Thanks in advance
    Maciej Gottfried

    Hi Maciej,
    You can create an iView from this application ,put it in any structure you want inside a role.
    Then configure this iView property "quicklink" to the alias you want, for instance "MyAppAlias".
    Afterwards when you type in the url: https://my.portal.com/irj/portal/MyAppAlias you would be navigated and see the app in the content area and TLN and DTN panel showing the exact structure where this iView is located.

  • Portal Menu - possibilty of export

    Hi, is there possibility of dynamic exporting and importing menu (or fragment of menu such a set of iViews assigned do role) to the portal (for example in xml file).
    The problem is that I want to develop portal application and present it on the portal, but I don't want to customize menu manually. How can I do that??
    There is an example in pdk "navigation" but it is done with one xml file and it is performed during start of portal.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
    The portal server should be accessed with the fully qualified domain name of that server.
    This is because the SAP logon ticket is stored as a cookie in the browser.
    It is a feature of cookies that they are only sent back to the domain that set them.
    This is to protect your privacy by making it harder to track your browsing across different websites.

  • J2EE_Admin Unable to Add iView Permissions (Connecting BEx and Portal)

    Hi guys,
    I'm trying to set up a connection between BEx Web and Portal in a Netweaver 2004s environment.
    Following notes 917950, I have made the configuration using Template Installer and RSPOR_SETUP.
    Perhaps unsurprisingly, there are some issues.
    Diagnostics & Support Desktop Tool (note 937697) shows 6 red lights:
    1. BI iView Permissions
    2. BI Mastersystem
    3. BI Portal System Permissions
    4. URLs Prefixes Customized on Both J2EE and ABAP Side
    5. User Mapping of User DDIC
    6. WebAS ABAP Certificate and Login Modules Configuration
    Here, let's just look at
    1. BI iView permissions.
    <b>Error: </b>
    The BI Report-Report Interface iView does not have the necessary permissions for being called directly.
    My question is
    Why can't the J2EE_Admin user do the following fix (Note 983683)?
    1) In the portal, follow the path
    "Content Administration -> Portal Content"
    "Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> Platform Add Ons ->
    "Business Intelligence -> iViews -> BEx Launcher (transactions for RRI)"
    (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.rritransaction).
    2) From the context menu for this entry, choose "Open" -> "Permissions".
    3) "Search" for the "User Group" (Caution: not the "role") "Everyone" and add this to the list of assigned authorizations.
    Set the value "None" in the selection field of the "Administrator" column and set the indicator "User". Save your changes.
    The "ADD" button is not clickable!! Is it because the J2EE_ADMIN user is not authorized to add permissions?
    I hope the experts here can provide some light into the situation. Points will be awarded for helpful answers. Thank you!!

    SJ

    2. BI Mastersystem
    it depends on the type of error, see the hint given by the disgnostics tool, if it is sothing to do with BW system alias, so you have to connect to your portal and in system configuration->systemlandscape-> right click on SAP_BW then choose system alias and add the one proposed earlier in the diagnostics tool
    3. BI Portal System Permissions
    add group everyone on you SAP_BW system on systemlandscape
    4. URLs Prefixes Customized on Both J2EE and ABAP Side
    the one declared in the portal should be the same as the one in RSPOR_T_PORTAL table. you can modify this table to include the domain name of your URL
    5. User Mapping of User DDIC
    open your java admin consol (http://server....:5sid00 and then click on user administration, choose ddic the in the mapping tabulation click on modify the enter j2ee_admin as a user for the mapping, it should solve this point, don't forget to save.
    6. WebAS ABAP Certificate and Login Modules Configuration
    for this one you have to give the error text so i can help.
    if it helps give points.

  • Portal menu priority effects catalog return screen

    Hi Everyone,
    We are implementing SRM 7 and Portal. We've copied/amended the ESS role slightly and created a new Home menu with UWL and a bespoke help guide etc.
    When we now go into the catalog and add an item to the basket, the return screen is whatever the first screen in the Home menu is e.g. UWL as opposed to the Shopping Cart iview.
    We've looked at notes covering the _Parent and _top configuration in the backend and we're up to date with those but this appears to be something different as the Page container for the Shop changes to the page of the first menu item.
    We can recopy the SAP role/workset but this does not allow us to set the custom Home page as the first menu item.
    Has anyone come across this before and has a fix?
    thanks
    Rob

  • Changing portal menu.

    I have this portal menu:
    Inicio |  Conformación de Anticipos |  Gestión de Pedidos |  Gestión de Facturas |  Solicitud de Avales |  Interface PLANECO-SAP |  Condiciones Especiales de Pago |  Firma de Contratos |  Plan de Cuentas |  Retención por Garantía
    Choosing "Gestión de facturas", on the left part of the screen I get:
    Navegación detallada
    Aprobación de Facturas
        · Conformación de Facturas
        · Conformación de Facturas de Interfaces
    Conformación Facturas Seguros
        · Conformacion Facturas de Seguros
    where I should be getting:
    Navegación detallada
    Aprobación de Facturas
        · Conformación de Facturas
        · Conformación de Facturas de Interfaces
        · Conformacion Facturas de Seguros
    How is that done? (The more step-by-step the answer is, the better, I'm quite new with this subject)
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    now i understood your query bit better so  u want this type of structure
    Navegación detallada
    Aprobación de Facturas
    · Conformación de Facturas
    · Conformación de Facturas de Interfaces
    · Conformacion Facturas de Seguros
    find the role which corresponds to this structure in ume.
    then navigate to content administration ---> portal content
    where u can find this role.if u cannot find it manually then use the search option, u should note that this search is case-sensitive.
    u can either do this position alteration either in the role editor or workset editor deponds upon the structure in your PCD.
    since it is not in english i am unable to offer you full support and i am sorry for that.
    u dont need to use merger id concept for this , u need just to alter the node location.

  • Portal menu items not loading

    Hi,
    for some reason, on my browser most of the portal menu items don't load properly. This happens on the detailed navigation when I expand any folder that contains iView links. I see the message loading... but nothing happens.
    Some of the iviews don't load either. I see a flash message on the statu bar at the bottom that says 'error on the page' and then 'done'. I'm sure this is a IE issue since it works just fine on a different computer for the same portal. What could be wrong with my browser ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Anand,
    You need to make host entry for IP add (URL IP add. of Porta) in host file.
    To add host entry go to run from start and type drivers it will open new window, click on etc folder,new open host file in notepad or any other word editor, there you will find default host entry for localhost, below this add your entry, e.g.
    127.0.0.1       localhost
    <IP add>       <host name>, where host name will be your company name or any thing.
    While opening Portal use host name instead of IP in URL
    Thanks

  • SSO between Portal Application and Portal Admin Tool

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement for implementing SSO between a Portal application and
    Portal admin tool.
    We are using WL Portal 8.1 SP4.
    Here is the reason for this requirement -
    A user logged-into Portal Application needs to login to Portal Admin tool to
    do some admin activity. We want to provide a link in the portal application
    using which the user can directly login to the Portal Admin tool without
    having to enter the credentials again.
    If someone has any info on how to implement this, can you please point me in
    the right direction.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    When creating PP you have 2 options
    PP used for compiling and PP used for Building
    You create PP with all the libraries into Developing/Compiling Other DCs
    And another PP with all the libraries into can be packaged into other build results (SDAs).
    Once you have these 2 PP in place you add the DC as used DC.
    And this should resolve the issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • How To Change Hyperlinks And Nav Menu Colors

    I continue to see people stating that it's impossible to change hyperlink colors and navigation menu colors until after you publish your site. This is not true. It's quite easy to update your templates with the colors YOU want and when you update the template, you never have to mess with any post-processing. You make a new page? Your colors are already there.
    I've gone over this before in this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3288533&#3288533
    But I'll go over the quick and dirty version here as well. Those who want more detail can post a question and I'll elaborate.
    First, do you know how to get into iWeb's inner folders? You right click or control click on your iWeb icon and select Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu.
    Step 2
    Once you've done that, you'll see a new Finder window that shows a folder called Contents. Open that and then open the next folder Resources. Within Resources there's a folder named Shared. Open the Shared folder.
    You're now looking at your collection of iWeb template files. You'll notice that each template has seven individual page files - each file defines the layout and styles for the page for which its named. This is actually one of the two places where you'll find the data/images that make up your iWeb pages. This location only contains the images. Now I'll show you were to find the data file.
    So you're currently here:
    /Applications/iWeb/Contents/Resources/Shared/
    You want to go here:
    /Applications/iWeb/Contents/Resources/English.lproj
    Now if you speak another language and your Mac's system language is set to the language you speak, substitue English with that language. If your system is set to English regardless of the language you speak, and you use the English templates, then stick with the English folder.
    When you're in the English.lproj folder, you will see seven sub-folders and one file named TemplatesInfo.plist. TemplatesInfo.plist is the file that registers the templates and tells iWeb what you've got in your collection. But we don't care about that file for now. We're after the template data files.
    The seven sub-folders are aptly named for each of the seven page-types as you can see. Open the About Me folder.
    Now you will see an "about me.webtemplate" file for every template you have in your collection. Good job. You've learned something new. Move on to Step 3.
    Step 3
    If you haven't decided yet, now's the time to decide which template you'd like to update. If you're just along for the ride to learn something new, no worries. We won't do anything you can't undo.
    Pick a template file now. Perhaps you chose the White template, or:
    White About Me.webtemplate
    Right click or control click on this file and select Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu. This will launch a new Finder window that displays the contents of the White About Me.webtemplate file.
    You will likely see a handful of different files, but the file you want is the one named Index.xml.gz.
    Index.xml.gz is the brain behind the template. Within this file are all the settings for the page you chose and it's really not hard to find what you want and change it. So let's take a peek.
    Step 4
    Double-click the file Index.xml.gz. This will reveal a new file named Index.xml. You might have to scroll down in your Finder window to see it. Rename Index.xml.gz to Index.xml.gz.backup in case you screw things up, you have your original.
    Now, open Index.xml with TextEdit. Do not open the file with a code editor unless you have already formatted the file.
    When the file opens, you'll notice it's one gigantic jumbled mess of stuff. No worries, we'll straighten that out. All you need to do is a find/replace.
    Find all instances of: ><
    And replace with:
    <
    The line break is important so maybe just copy the lines right out of this post. When you replace all of those, the file will be far more easy to view.
    Assuming you've completed that step. You're basically ready to make your change and test it out! Not hard ey?
    So let's say you want to change your hyperlink color from grey to blue. Search for this string:
    BLDefaultHyperlinkCharacterStyleIdentifier0
    When you find that string, you will see a few lines below it, two lines that look similar to this:
    <sf:fontColor>
    <sf:color xsi:type="sfa:calibrated-rgb-color-type" sfa:r=".8" sfa:g="1" sfa:b="0.4" sfa:a="1"/>
    This is how the template specifies color. It's RGB100. Your Mac came with a program called Art Director's Took Kit and that application can tell you the RGB100 values for any color you want. Tinker with that and you'll have a lot of fun with this.
    So I picked out a nice royal blue for you. The RGB100 values for it are:
    R:0 G:25 B:100
    What you need to do is update the color line to match those values:
    <sf:color xsi:type="sfa:calibrated-rgb-color-type" sfa:r="0" sfa:g=".25" sfa:b="1" sfa:a="1"/>
    Notice that you specify these in terms of a percentage, where 25 became .25 and 100 became 1.
    Step 5
    Save your file. It's time to see your work in action. Open iWeb if it isn't open already and create a new page using the template you've just altered. If you altered the White About Me page, then select that and create the new page.
    It there are hyperlinks already on this page, you should already see that they reflect your new color. If there aren't any hyperlinks, then type some text and create one. You should see your new link color right away!
    Now if you don't see the new color, either you picked the wrong page or you neglected to rename the Index.xml.gz file a few steps back. If you did not rename that file, then it's still in control of your template. Rename it now and try again.
    If you don't like that color, simply swap back to the TextEdit page and change it until you like it - switching back and forth between the file and iWeb to view your changes. Once you're happy, make note of the color you chose and make the change for the remaining six pages in the tempalte you selected. Just be sure to follow the steps for each page you edit. If you fail to see your change, again, check to see that you renamed Index.xml.gz.
    Side Notes
    For the more technical, rather than editing an existing template, you might want to duplicate and rename a template. This essentially creates a brand new one. If you're pretty good within Finder then go for it, just be sure that you duplicate the files in both locations:
    /Applications/iWeb/Contents/Resources/Shared/
    /Applications/iWeb/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/...
    Choose a unique name for the duplicated template and change every single file so that the new name replaces the old one. You would have to register this new template in the TemplatesInfo.plist file as well, but I'm not going to get into that here.
    The thread I referenced at the top has all kinds of search terms to find the other hyperlink styles (rollover and visited) and all the navigation menu styles plus a bunch of other fun stuff.
    Now, it seems long, but that's because I wrote it well. The shortest version of this I've ever written was two sentences, but that was for a UNIX geek and he got it. It's just as easy for you, but I write it out so that anyone can do this, because anyone can. It's just not hard.
    If you have questions about any of the steps, go ahead and ask.

    Good. Okay here's how to apply a background color to your nav bar buttons. For example, my Aerolite template sets the selected page to a black background color. The rollover effect uses a gradient fill. I'll describe both of those here.
    First, here are the navigation menu search terms:
    navbaritem-style-normal-default
    navbaritem-style-rollover-default
    navbaritem-style-selected-default
    navbar-pargraph
    The first three set the button effects and text colors. The last one there sets the font, font size and other paragraph styles.
    To change the selected page button background color, or gradient or image, first search for it using the search term above. Start from the top of the file because there are two instances of those terms, one where you can set the values, the other is only reference to the first and does not allow you to change settings.
    When you find the search term, you might want to insert an empty line above it to help separate it from the rest of the code. You can also insert an empty line below the section. The end of this style ends with:
    </sf:navbar-item-style>
    Be careful not to mix that up with </sf:navbaritem-character-style>
    Now, within this section, you'll find all kinds of settings... stroke, fill, character styles, etc. Notice you can change font color in there. But for this demo, you want to find the section that looks like this:
    <sf:fill>
    <sf:null/>
    </sf:fill>
    I'm assuming you're editing an Apple template that does not already have a fill effect. If it does have one, then your example might not look exactly like that.
    To apply a color fill, change those three lines to these lines:
    <sf:fill>
    <sf:color xsi:type="sfa:calibrated-rgb-color-type" sfa:r="0" sfa:g="0" sfa:b="0" sfa:a="1"/>
    </sf:fill>
    You can see that we've inserted the line that specifies color - something you should be familiar with by now. Here you can specify the color that will become the background of your nav bar button. This example specifies black. Easy no?
    If you would prefer a gradient fill, then replace those three lines with this:
    <sf:fill>
    <sf:angle-gradient sfa:ID="SFRAngleGradient-1111" sf:opacity="1" sf:type="linear" sf:angle="0">
    <sf:stops sfa:ID="NSMutableArray-1111">
    <sf:gradient-stop sfa:ID="SFRGradientStop-1111" sf:fraction="0">
    <sf:color xsi:type="sfa:calibrated-rgb-color-type" sfa:r="0.40" sfa:g="0.40" sfa:b="0.30" sfa:a="1"/>
    </sf:gradient-stop>
    <sf:gradient-stop sfa:ID="SFRGradientStop-2222" sf:fraction="1">
    <sf:color xsi:type="sfa:calibrated-rgb-color-type" sfa:r="0.64" sfa:g="0.66" sfa:b="0.54" sfa:a="1"/>
    </sf:gradient-stop>
    </sf:stops>
    </sf:angle-gradient>
    </sf:fill>
    Now, don't panic Here's what this is. The first line allows you to specify the angle of your gradient. Play with the numbers from 0 to 359 until you have what makes sense for your design.
    Then, you will see two familiar lines again - the lines that allow you to specify color! The first line is the first color of your gradient and the second color is the second color of your gradient. That's all there is to it!
    SECRET: It might be possible to add additional colors, not just two. Do you see the part sf:fraction="0" and sf:fraction="1"? These are gradient stops. I'm willing to bet that if you inserted a thrid gradient stop with a fraction setting of .5, you'd have a three-color gradient!
    <sf:gradient-stop sfa:ID="SFRGradientStop-3333" sf:fraction=".5">
    <sf:color xsi:type="sfa:calibrated-rgb-color-type" sfa:r="0" sfa:g="0.25" sfa:b="4" sfa:a="1"/>
    </sf:gradient-stop>
    I have never tried this - it just occurred to me as I was looking at this code. Big prize for the first person to prove the theory
    NOTE: You will notice that the number 1111 and 2222 are within this code. iWeb XML relies on identification tags here and there. It's nothing you really have to care about except if you insert gradient fills in more than one area. Those numbers need to be unique so if you paste that code in for your selected page button and then paste it again for your rollover buttons, you'll need to update the numbers for the second button. Any numbers are fine. Use 3333 and 4444 for the second set, 5555 and 6666 for the thrid and so on. I often just type 4345781476 - doesn't matter.
    Next lesson will be images.

  • SSO and portal timeout  -- other bug?

    ...this is very probably related to the other post talking about SSO and portal timeout...
    I am having another weird issue with dotnet portlets that uses inline refresh (done automatically by dotnet accelerator) and SSO.
    When you let the portal session expire, and then click on a button/link within a portlet (hence generate an inline refresh gatewayed request), the full portal window (header/footer etc...) appears within the portlet, instead of the portlet content alone.
    I did some http traces (see below) and it seems the problem is due to the windows SSOLogin.aspx (we are using windows auth SSO) not taking the requested portlet gatewayed request url as a post login redirect info... but taking instead the current page url (which is wrong)
    Thus, after the gatewayed portlet request is successfully authenticated by the SSOLogin.aspx component, it is automatically redirected to the wrong urll...making the full portal page refresh into the portlet.
    So my question is: have anyone already seen such behavior? And has anything been done to fix this?
    It really seems like a bug with the SSO servlet...but maybe i am doing something wrong...Just want to have your thoughts on this.
    Thanks,
    Fabien

    I have this happen in v6.0 sp1. We have worked around the problem with a bit of work and synchronization of settings. Below, I've outlined how we've worked around the problem (which is indeed a problem that should be fixed). Also, if you have a load balancer, you'll need to set your session timeout on the load balancer to a bit more than the refresh rate that you set for your communities and My Pages.
    Resolving the Portlet Timeout / Refresh Problem in ALUI Portal_
    Problem: Users occasionally receive the portal page within a portlet error
    Cause: The root cause has not been determined; however it appears that the primary event that exhibits the behavior is when a teammember’s session has expired on the portal server and they then utilize a .NET form-based portlet which refreshes in place. Because we are using WIA SSO to enable automatic logins to the portal, it makes the error seem to occur randomly.
    Resolution:
    The workaround solution is to – 1) increase the portal session timeout on the portal web servers from the default 20min to 4 hours, and 2) set the MyPage refresh interval setting for all portal users to 3 hours. The setting name is a bit of a misnomer, as it will actually refresh the entire portal page automatically if the user is idle on either a My Page or a Community Page, as these are the only two places that portlets reside.
    Increasing the portal session timeout:
    The portal session timeout is controlled in two places, and both settings should match. On the portal virtual directory in IIS, edit the configuration and increase the timeout setting to 240 (minutes). Then, edit the portal application’s web.config file (d:\portal\ptportal\6.0\webapp\portal\web\) and increase the sessionState Timeout variable to 240. Editting the config file will require you to restart the services before you see the change.
    Initial setting of the MyPage refresh interval:
    The initial setting will need to be done by a SQL script in order to apply it to all existing users. The Default Profile should also be updated so that all new user synched from AD will have this setting applied automatically.
    /* Delete refresh interval settings for all users first so that there are no conflicts on the inserts */
    DELETE FROM portaldbuser.ptprefs WHERE prefname = 'intMyPageRefreshRate'
    /* Insert desired page refresh setting for all users */
    INSERT INTO portaldbuser.ptprefs (userid,gadgetid,prefclassid,prefobjectid,prefname,prefvaluetype,prefvalue,pagenumber) SELECT objectid,0,0,0,'intMyPageRefreshRate',3,180,0 FROM portaldbuser.ptusers
    From Administration, access the Default Profiles utility. Check the Default Profile entry and click on the Edit Profile Layout link. Click on the My Account link in the Portal Settings portlet and then on the Display Options link on the next page. In the Page and Portlet Settings, update the Your My Page will be updated: setting to 4 hours. Click Finish twice to return to Administration.
    Updating the MyPage refresh interval:
    To update the setting just modify the insert portion of the SQL script. Change the prefvalue number (180) to the desired timeout in minutes and rerun both statements of the script.
    The Default Profile should be also be modified per the instructions above.
    I hope this helps...

  • SSO and Portal down after upgrade from AS 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.3

    SSO and Portal is down after upgrade from AS 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.3. All others are running fine. Any similiar experience and solution?
    Thanks.

    cn=XXX information is missing for the SSO Server (orasso) when going to http://servername:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.home. Is that causing the problem? If so, how can I resolve it?

  • Single directory Server for Messaging and Portal

    We are trying to unify our directory services.
    At present, there two directory servers, one for iPlanet messaging 5.2 and another for Portal server 6.0.
    Messaging's Directory server is v5.1 and Portal's Directory server is v5.2. Their BaseDN is same.
    Now, What we are planning to do is as below.
    1. LDIF everything from Msgr Directory and import into Portal's Directory.
    2. Point Msg Server to the Portal's directory.
    But, we are not sure what to export or how to tell messaging server to look at the Portal's Directory. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks
    Srini

    What you are trying to do is non-trivial.
    Setting the ldap server for user and groups on the mail server is easy enough -- look at the output of configutil and you will find the values of local.ugldap*
    define the values you need to change.
    e.g.:
    local.ugldapbasedn
    local.ugldapbindcred
    local.ugldapbinddn
    local.ugldaphost
    local.ugldapport
    etc.
    These are all listed in the messaging reference manual.
    You need to ensure that the schemas of the two apps. match. For example, if you are using schema 1 for mail and schema 2 for the portal (quite likely), there will be a lot more work to do on the directory than simply moving the user entries accross and merging them.
    Unless you have done this sort of thing before, or feel very comfortable and knowlegable about how the messaging server in partuicular works with LDAP, I would suggest that you seriously consider getting help from Sun Professonal Services.
