Entry point into ADF application
Hello,
We are building an ADF (JSF) application using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5, running on Weblogic 10.3.5. In addition to a traditional login page, we have a method in a backing bean called:
public void directLogin(username, pwd)
and would also like to provide the ability to call this directly (from outside the application).
Any suggestions on how to achieve this? I have tried adding a Method call to the adfc-config, but how can this be called externally?.
Thanks.
Thank you both for your helpful responses.
I created a BTF with "Url-invoke-allow" and a default method call that calls the "public void directLogin(username, pwd)" method. But I find that on running the BTF, the following exception is thrown
javax.faces.FacesException: oracle.adf.controller.ControllerException: ADFC-10001: cannot instantiate class SBean
SBean is a session Managed Bean declared in faces-config.xml as below :
<managed-bean>
<managed-bean-name>sessionController</managed-bean-name>
<managed-bean-class>view.controllers.SBean</managed-bean-class>
<managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
</managed-bean>
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Multiple entry points into a Page Flow
Is it possible to define multiple entry points into a PageFlow ? That is, can I forward to an arbitrary Action inside a PageFlow (other then the standard begin) ?
If so, is there sample code illustrating this ?
Thank you
CristianThe flow view should show the action from the anchor.

John,
That answers my questions.
One more thing though :
When using an anchor to forward from a jsp to an action in a pageflow,
the 'Flow View' does not show the corresponding link. Is that normal ?
Thank you
Cristian
"John Rohrlich" <[email protected]> wrote:
Cristian,
Yes the samples implicitly go to begin because jumping into the middle
of
some flow can lead to code that is difficult to follow and to debug.
If
there are pieces of a page flow that are useful in multiple contexts
you
might want to make them independent page flows or nested page flows
You can go from a jsp to an action in another page flow using an anchor
and
setting the href attribute, for example
<netui:anchor
href="/WebApp/anotherPageFlow/someAction.do">continue</netui:anchor>
notice that you set href= rather than action= because you are going
outside
of the local page flow.
If you want to go from an action in one page flow to an action in another
page flow of the same application you can do this
* @jpf:forward name="success" path="/anotherPageFlow/someAction.do"
If you want to pass a form to the action you can do that also. You just
follow the last example and add the form to the forward, for example
return new Forward("success", someForm);
I hope that covers it - john

I need to go from either an action or a jsp in one page flow to ajsp/action in another page flow, passing around a session scoped action
form.
What is the syntax for the forwarding path ?
All the samples I found implicitly
forward to the 'begin()' action in the destination jpf.
How do I tell it to go to
another action/jsp in the target jpf ?
Thanks

ADF Task Flow: Using Task Flow Call as Application Entry Point
In our product we have a task flow structure very similar to the Fusion Order Demo application, but we are having serious trouble reproducing the documented functionality of ADF Task Flows.
Specifically, we cannot use a task flow call as an entry point for our application, which is very important for us to achieve.
The [Developer s Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/taskflows.htm#ADFFD1634] states about the [demo application|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/samples/fod/index.html] :
"A Fusion web application always contains an ADF unbounded task flow, which contains the entry point or points to the application. Figure 14-3 displays the diagram for the unbounded task flow from the Fusion Order Demo Application. This task flow contains the Home, *MyOrders*, *checkout*, registerUser, and updateUserInfo *view activities, which are all entry points to the application*."
"The checkout-task-flow activity in Figure 14-3 is a call to an ADF bounded task flow."
When we run the Fusion Demo Application, we are only able to use home, updateUserInfo and register as entry points.
We cannot enter the application through any of the task flow call activities (MyOrders and checkout) as the documentation suggests.
What are the reasons for this and how do we fix it, so we can use task flow call activities as application entry points?
Thanks.

The forum did not display the link to "Developer's Guide" because the link contained the single quote char '. Single quote char removed. Is what you mention here the case in the Fusion Order Demo application?
If the task flow call activities cannot be used as entry points, why is it stated in the documentation?
How do we solve this, so that the task flow call activities (including parameter bindings) can be used as entry points, like the documentation suggests? -
Can Individual Users Define Portal Entry Points?
Hi All,
Is it possible for individual portal users to define their own entry points into the Portal or can this only be done on a role by role basis?
To clarify, lets say User A is assign the Manufacturing role which has three worksets called Home, Supply and Commercial. The role has been configured to automatically open "Home" but User A wants his role to automatically open "Supply" - is this possible?
Thanks in advance,
Oloy.Hi Michael,
Thanks for your response.
I suspected that it wasn't possible but it's always best to clarify.
So essentially, I am the only person who can define the entry points for all of the Portal Roles.
You mention quick links, how/where are these defined? Are they defined in the iView? Where do the quick links appear once they have been created?
Thanks,
Oloy. -
Entry points for integrating Openoffice writer into Java swing application
I googled the web and also took a look in below 2 web sites, just seems it is very difficult to get an entry point for me to try my frist application with open office writer integrated with my swing application.
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/OpenOffice.org_Developers_Guide
http://api.openoffice.org/
What my question is:
1. Where can I get the completed jar files for using the open office writer api for my java application?
2. Is there any step by step practical example for using the api? It seems that the above links are quite messy and difficult to find an entry point to get a start, but just contain many segments separated through out the web site.
Thanks much for any suggestion.Information regarding OOo is not on Sun websites, or in these forums. There may be 3rd-party sites that have some info regarding OOo use.

I downloaded iTunes onto my laptop and was getting an Apple Application Support error so I downloaded that and now I'm getting a Procedure Entry Point and Error 7 (Windows Error 127) messages. I have no clue how to go about fixing whatever the problem is...can anyone help me?

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

Problem consuming portlet of an ADF application into webcenter application
Hi,
I have created a simple ADF application with one JSF page having a document list task flow displaying some documents from UCM. I created a portlet out of it by Create Portlet Entry and deployed it onto integrated weblogic. Then i created a webcenter Application in which i created a single JSF page and dragged that registered portlet on to it.
Problem is that Portlet runs fine standalone
It also Gives the correct WSDL
It was registered successfully
But when i consumed that into my webcenter application, It given me Portlet Unavailable.
Here is the stacktrace of my Jdeveloper log:

Even I am trying to achieve something similar and get the same error.
I created a simple JSR 286 portlet with view.jspx and edit.jspx in Portlet Producer Application. And trying to consume that portlet in WebCenter Portal Application using WSRP.
The producer application gets deployed without any errors and I am able to register that application in WebCenter portal application using WSRP.
I used the content presenter taskflow in Producer Application to grab a html from UCM. Consumed that (drag & drop) remote portlet in home.jspx of the Webcenter Portal Application.
When I run the WebCenter Portal, I get this error on console and in browser:
javax.portlet.faces.BridgeException: oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002: Definition portletone.html.viewPageDef of type Form Binding Definition is not found.
javax.portlet.PortletException: doBridgeDispatch failed: error from Bridge in executing the request

at javax.portlet.faces.GenericFacesPortlet.doView(GenericFacesPortlet.java:274)
at javax.portlet.GenericPortlet.doDispatch(GenericPortlet.java:328)
Sometimes I don't see this error when I restart my WLS but the portlet doesn't display any content from UCM either.
I am deploying the applications on Integrated Weblogic Server.
Detail description of what my code is in this post: Error with content presenter task flow in Portlet Producer application

"The procedure entry point _pkgModulePackageEventLog@20 could not be located in the dynamic link library NIPALU.dll".
This fatal error is only observed on some of our customers' systems, others work fine after the upgrade. WE NEED URGENT HELP!

Hello,
It's just a guess: Power Pivot uses the MSOLAP = "Microsoft OleDB Provider for OLAP" and maybe that Provider is damaged on the machine. You may try to reinstall the Provider, you can get the installer named "SQL_AS_OLEDB.msi" from
Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 SP2 Feature Pack =>
ENU\x86\SQL_AS_OLEDB.msi (for 32 bit)

After I updated my Itunes I always get this Error:
The procedure entry point

And the I get:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.
Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I tried the following:
- Re-Installing Itunes
- Uninstalling every software from Apple deleting every registery entry and then re-installing it. (itunes, quicktime, bonjour etc.)
This error is really a pain in the ***. I run Windows 8.1. When I go back to a restore point then Itunes works again. I searched but didn't find a solution that worked for me. Please help me.
As a software engineer, I really wonder if this is 98 or 2014....Try the following user tip:
iTunes for Windows 11.1.4.62: "The procedure entry point: ?videoTracks@QTMovie@ [...] could not be located ..." error messages when launching iTunes -
How to Generate Audit table entries for user navigation in ADF application?
Hi all,
I have a requirement that I need to have audit table entries for each user action in my application. Along with entries for user actions like insertion, deletion and updation I also need to have entries in the audit log even when a user simply navigates to or views any page.
Although I was successful in creating the entries for user actions like insertion, deletion and updation I failed to do so for simple user navigation through the pages.
Can anyone please help me out?
Thanks in advance,
ArijitHi,
Thanks for the quick reply. I am using JSF for my ADF application.Could u please elaborate how to use the PhaseListener for Auditing user navigation?

How to deploy ADF page into Oracle Applications
Hi Guys,
Is there anyway for deploying ADF pages into Oracle Applications.
Please share some links or information if you have any.
Appreciate your help !!
Thanks,
VJYou cannot run your ADF application on the EBS web-server. You need to run it on weblogic or glassfish or tomcat. But you can call your page from the EBS. For this, just define proper "Function" in EBS that calls a jsp page. If you need to pass information from EBS to your application like USER_ID, you can in "Function" -> "Parameters" use $PROFILE$.USER_ID to get the connected user id.
You can also research AppsDataSource that you can define in weblogic , but it is more difficult -
The new Foxfire version was downloaded into my download folder but I was never prompted, as it said I would be , so move the Foxfire icon into the applications folder. Therefore I do not know where the process stands. It old icon in my dock upgraded or has nothing happeded. It seems as if the process somehow just stopped in the middle.
Outside of the contact number for that you've already used I don't know another way of direct contact. Here are some things that they may or may not of had you try that might help you. If you will go to the settings app and pick general on the right-hand side you will see accessibility. Within that you can adjust a text size make the text bowl you can also increase the contrast. You can also adjust the brightness and control panel.
As for Siri again in the settings app under general you should see Siri on the right-hand side with the switch to turn it on. If that is turned on and you're still having issues
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

Deploying a jdeveloper adf application to a desktop
I need to create an interface to an oracle database system that I set up, and I need to do it posthaste. I got drawn into the offerings of jdeveloper by all the promotion and videos and tutorials that are available on the web page. It does indeed seem like a rapid way to create an interface. I originally liked the idea of creating an adf fusion webapplication, but I couldn't figure out how to get my sample application to run on Tomcat.
So now, I'm interested in developing an interface that can be run on a desktop, in the meantime until I have more time to work on a web interface. My question is does a desktop application need an application server as well if it's using adf? In other words, I'd like to create an application in jdeveloper that I can deploy as a simple executable jar file and send to a user for them to use on their desktop, is this possible? Is web logic required to run on that other users desktop?
I've tried doing this using a "Java Desktop Application (adf)" which creates two projects one for the model and one for the view controller. I created a simple prototype form that connects to my database and everything looks great when I hit the green play button. However when I try and deploy it as an executable jar with the entry point being the one and only form I can't run it. A jar file is created and it says its an executable jar file but when I double click it, the OS simply beeps (I'm using Windows XP).
Thanks.hari wrote:

Is web logic required to run on that other users desktop? The answer to your question is No. You don't need an application server to run a Java client ADF application. You should be able to execute the application packaged on the jar file as is. I haven't developed myself anything like it, but as long as your necessary ADF libraries are accessible you shouldn't have any problems running it.

You won't be able to run the jar file that way - unless you package a manifest file with it and set its Main-Class attribute to point to your class containing the main() method. Try instead executing java -jar yourJarFile.jar from the command line.
