Envelope printing for HP 6600

I am trying to print on an envelope that is not a standard size.  The printer is not recognizing the custom sizes.  Is there a way to change the settings for envelpoes? for the hp 6600

Hey Tn237,
Are you using a Mac PC or a Windows based PC?
If you are on a Windows PC, then I would advise using an alternate driver for custom paper size printouts.  I would advise using the HP Deskjet 9800 driver for this type of print job.  For information about how to use an alternate driver click here.

  • Samsung ML-1210 foomatic+gdi - no support for envelope printing?

I've installed the Open Source foomatic+gdi print drivers for my Samsung ML-1210 laser printer on my two Macs running Panther (10.3.9). Printing ordinary pages works fine, but the supplied PPD doesn't have any support for envelopes or the fact that the envelope feeder is centered on the print drum. Anyone know of a better PPD or other solution which correctly prints envelopes?

Welcome to the Apple Discussion forums.
I don't have this printer and am not familiar with the gdi drivers. Were there PPDs that came with the download or built from compiling the drivers? In looking at the foomatic generated PPD, I do see that there is a definition for envelopes. For example, I do see the imageable area for a #10 envelope:
    *ImageableArea Env10/Envelope #10: "0 0 297 684"
Do you find lack of support for envelopes in all applications or just certain ones? Are you selecting the envelope in Page Setup from the File menu?
I really don't pretend to have any firm answers here; just a line of things to look at when troubleshooting.

  • ISO Inkjet for envelope printing

For years I've been using a Canon i560 inkjet for heavy duty envelpe
(invitation printing) and it worked great. The printhead on it is gone and
it doesn't seem logical to spend close to $50 to replace it with so many
    cheap injets out there.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a replacement? I do not need photo
quality, and prefer one that uses generic cartridges. In the past I've found
that the Canons handled the thicker invitation envelopes best.
Of course I don't want to spend more than necessary, but more important than
price is suitability to my needs.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

We use R280 with refill system from ufosytem.net and the ink from them as well for wedding invitations.
So far, we save a lot of money.
It comes with life time warranty and their ink is outstanding.
I did contact them for Epson r3800 system which they mentioned it will be ready in few weeks.
The R3800 is a perfect ink jet printer for my wedding business but the ink cost is crazy.

  • Contacts Envelope Print Error

I have figured out how to print an envelope with a return address, and proper layout even without the bar code (Hello Apple - it's 2015) and the limited text formatting options, but now Contacts prints two envelopes with each print request.
The problem is that every other envelope prints the addressee name in the line where the street address is on the correctly printed other envelope (which is what I see in preview window).  No street address, city or zip, just the name in the line where the address should be.
Under the Preview window within the print dialog window is this 'Two addresses()'
I dont see another address card anywhere for this contact, so where is the other address that I need to delete to stop wasting envelopes?

Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library".
Then go to Application Support/AddressBook/AddressBook.data and double-click that.

  • Envelope Printing Incorrectly to HP laserjet

When installing to one of the Mavericks upgrades last year, my old HP laser jet 3700n would no longer print envelopes correctly from either WordMac or from PrintShop3. I blamed the old age of the printer (More than 10 years) and no recent driver made for it. I purchased a new HP LaserJet MFP M476dw but I have the exact same issue. The envelope appears perfect in print preview but when the envelope prints, the text is perpendicular like in portrait mode and mostly off of the envelope. It doesn't matter the size of the envelope. I have tried changing every setting I could find, altering the dimensions to the opposite length/width, changing the orientation of the envelope feed, but I can't get it right. I can't believe I am the only person with this problem. I called HP and after 2 hours on the phone they said they couldn't help me. I'm not very computer literate and really would like help.

  • Envelope printing using HP LaserJet CP1525nw color

I have been trying to print envelopes on our above printer.  My document is in Word and is formatted accordingly for a #10 business envelope.
Under HP's help feature, I found the appropriate info on how to set up my document's printing options so it would print correctly.
The first envelope printed on the flap side; I re-loaded them back into tray 1 and was ready.
The second envelope printed successfully so I thought I had it figured out.  So I loaded the paper tray with 5 envelopes, hoping to print them en masse.  I couldn't get this to work when I tried to print 4 at once.  I got an error "Jam in Tray 2" and I wasn't even using Tray 2.  I cleared the "problem" and ONE envelope printed successfully, then I got the same error message.
I got 2 more envelopes printed this way but each time I got the same error message, cleared the machine, and 1 envelope printed.
Frustrated, I cancelled the multiple print job and tried printing the envelopes one-by-one.  Now it's not working at all even though I clear the phantom paper jam each time.
Can anyone help with this?  It's driving me nutty.
Background info:  my husband (network engineer) set up the printer.  I have over 20 years of word processing experience and usually have good results with figuring out printing problems.  This one has me stumped!
Thanks for any help you can provide.

The CP1525 does allow you to print envelopes. There are two trays that can be used. I will describe only using the lower tray. Normally this tray is used for standard paper.  To use it for letter envelopes, you need to pull out the tray and then make some changes. Take out all of the paper. There are blue-colored paper supporters. Two are used for the width of regular papers. Slide it toward the center so that it will handle the envelope with the top toward the left side. Put the envelope in with the printable side up and the top towards the left side. Slide the blue paper holders so they touch the top and bottom. Then push the envelope all the way toward the back and then move the single blue paper holder at the front so that it is against the envelope. You are ready to print as far as the printer.
I have to select properties for the printer. I indicate that I am printing an envelope. I also had to indicate landscape. I also had to move the print areas to fit where I want them to be. Then I added my address and the address to where they are going. I am not sure that I got everything but this should work well.
I did not do this, but you can use both trays with one that holds a number of pages and the other for a number of envelopes.

  • PIXMA MX922-Envelope Printing

I am trying to print a commercial size 10 envelope from Word 2013 document. The envelope contains a table created in Word that extends the full height and width of the envelope with .5 margins on all sides. This printed fine on my HP LaserJet 5 but when I try to print it on the Pixma, the right margin switches from .5 to 1.48" when I go to print and as a result truncates the table. I saw in the fine print that the Pixma 922 does not support borderless envelope printing so I'm thinking maybe there is a built in larger border for envelopes. Has anyone figured out a work around? I attempted to avoid using the "envelope" settings by creating a custom document both in Word and for the printer that is the same size as the envelope. But the same thing happens - the table is truncated. I also attempted to just type text, thinking maybe there was something finicky about the table. But even the text is truncated and the margin overrides whatever I put in to change to 1.48" Very frustrating!

  • M251nw custom envelope printing issue - "cleaning"

Has anyone got any instructions to print custom envelope sizes for the M251nw using MAC OS? I am using 10.9.2.
I have set-up the correct custom size in the print dialog box, but it's just not printing out in the right spot. Do I need to download another driver? Also you have to click OK on the printer itself to laod the paper through every time and it does 'clean' itself after each print also. Can this be by-passed?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
Please open the document  you are printing click on file and print on the printer properties window

  • Envelope printing issues

I was trying to print an envelope with my new HP printer using Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac. When I press on print, the entire envelope is printed in black ink, covering the entire face of the envelope.
I checked the settings for the size envelope (#10). I also uninstalled the printer software and downloaded and re-installed the printer software, but the problem still exist.
Is there an compatibility issue with Yosemite 10.10.3?
    What could be the problem?

Hello @Blackjack2359, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you're having envelope print issues.   I'd like to assist!
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and drivers.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Envelope Feeder for HP Officejet Pro 8500

Does HP (or anyone) make an envelope feeder for the HP Officejet Pro 8500?

HP's drivers for that model are only supported for Tiger and Leopard. If you want to use the printer you will need to upgrade your OS X system.

  • Envelope Printing

    Envelope printing is crucial!
I looked through the posts and didn't see it mentioned, so I
guess it isn't that important to a lot of folks. BUT, to use B-word
for small business purposes it's a must. Peace and keep up the good
    the work.
PS, don't forget about the Linux support.
Also, I just posted this in the main forum by accident, my
    bad.

    Hello bmann11,
While there isn't a preset paper size for printing envelopes,
you are able to create custom paper sizes within Buzzword.
If you know the size of your envelope you'll be needing to
print in, you can goto the Document menu > Page Setup and change
the Orientation, width, height, according to your envelope type,
and then change the margins for the custom paper size as needed.
Here is a page listing some
    Envelope
    paper sizes for reference
After setting the page size, printing should be a snap!
    Hope this helps,
    Pete

  • Best printer for minimal work for wedding invitations?

I own a wedding invitations business and while I source out most everything to professional printers, I would like to be able to print some little things at home such as envelopes, drink flags, small signage. I am having trouble finding the correct printer for my needs.
Last night I purchased an Epson R2000, got it home and was unable to print envelopes on it. There were streaks continuosly on the page. Even when I printed an 8.5 x 11 invitation suite just to proof, the quality did not look that great. So, I am wondering if the Epson R2000 was too much printer to purchase since I do not need to print photography on it.
Does any one have any suggestions? Also, inkjet or laser? I am Mac user with Illustrator, InDesign, etc.

I installed the new drivers and the HP7130 no problem it was working then I installed microsoft office didn't appear to be a problem 1 freeze - then it started freezing so I uninstalled hp 7130. I have done memtest and hardware test seems it would be easier to get a new printer will keep this aio for the other computer especially since this one wouldn't network through airport - think I want one that does good photos for my flyers - thanks for the help so far and if anyone has a magic wand for computers let me know - and you favorite printer suggestions would be great I have both and old Epson stylus 900 pictures are grainy and an old HP photosmart 1280 out with the new in with the old

  • Why is my printer HP Officejet 6600 using color ink even though I'm not printing in color?

I've had this printer about a year now. I've replaced the entire line of ink cartridges at least 3 times now, working on 4. I don't print much at all. A couple of sheets a day or so. I always thought that it was using color ink very quickly so I thought I'd put it to a test. I changed the default settings to black ink only. I replaced all of the ink cartiridges, color and black. I decided this time I wouldn't print anything in color just to see what happened. Well the same thing is happening as if I were using color ink. The color ink is draining out much quicker than the black ink. This seems weird to me. Now we are at the point where it won't print unless I replace the magentia cartridge. This also seems unfair that they do not mention this clearly when you purchase the item. Something like "Oh, by the way, we aren't making enough money doing business as we should, so we will make you replace your ink supply even though it really isn't necessary and that should pick up the slack". I've paid for a new printer already with ink costs. Is there a way to get around this or am I stuck with it. Thanks.
    This question was solved.

When you set the printer to print in grayscale did you also select "Black ink only"?
HP and other printer manufacturers have different printer technologies for different needs.
Some have printheads built into the ink cartridges.  These printers can typically print with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black (but not both) cartridges removed. The Deskjet 6980 series is an example.
Other printers have separate ink supplies and replaceable printheads.  An example would be the Officejet 8600 printer.  The printhead in these printers can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors out.  Some of these printers will allow printing with a color out, other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or more colors the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send the printer for service.
Other printers have permanent printheads.  To run these without some ink in all the colors would risk causing damage to the printhead due to clogs, air ingested in the printheadvor burned out printhead firing resistors. The Photosmart 6600 series is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed printheads this could require service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.
The document here describes how ink is used.  While the document is written for HP Inkjet printers the same principles apply to inkjet printers from other manufacturers.

  • Mac Mini envelopes printing full page size from contacts

    Good day.
    So here’s my story.
In early summer I printed out enveoples form "Address Book" for our wedding invitations from a Macbook pro 2.16 GHz running 10.6.8. Everything worked out perfectly.
I then got a Mac Mini 2.7 GHz Core i7  for a wedding gift and I did a data migration from my Macbook Pro to the mac Mini. It was running 10.8.5 and is now running the latest version or Maverics. The printer I used for both envelope printing jobs, an HP CM1415fnw color MPF has also been updated to the latest software version.
The problem I am having is that the Mac mini will NOT print envelopes in the custom envelope size, it always prints full page. It has done this since the data migration form the Macbook Pro running "Address Book" to the Mac Mini 10.8 running "Contacts". I thought is was an operating system issue so I waited for the new OS Maverics.  I did another print out from both computers tonight to see if the issue had resoleved it's self. NOPE. I even do a print preview on the mini which loads up Preview and it shows the custom size, though it prints out full page
All settings on both computers are the same for the custom envelope size.
Anyone know how I can fix the paper size issue?
    Thanks for anyhelp I get

    Hi Rodger_
Thank you for the additional information, it was helpful.
I was speaking with one of my colleagues and we would like you to try the following steps. Once you have completed the steps please try printing again.
    1)    Please reset your printing system, I have included a document on how to do this. Please be aware that this reset deletes all print settings and pending print jobs from your Mac.
    2)    In the "Printers & Scanners" please click on the '+' and choose "Add another printer or scanner from the options (see screen shot)
    3)    Choose your Laserjet CM1415fnw and at the bottom where it says "USE" please change it to the HP Laserjet (see screen shot) instead of AirPrint
