EP DMS Repositor Manager Indexing

Hi
We have DMS Repository Manager for CM on EP SP9.
We can see documents in KM under /DMS and access them. But indexing does not work for this repository. I have mapped the service user INDEX_SERVICE to a back-end user. SSO works, and indexing of KM also works. The Application Log states: Indexing document failed. null
Please help.

Hi Dirk,
now I got it.
The customer get through the sdn download.
We deployed the par and configured the system alias, whereas I am not sure what kind of connection is required.
I have buidl a simple R/3 connection but it doesn't work, instead i get connection errors as:
com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf.common.exception.IOOperationFailedException: Connection Failed: Verbindungsaufbau fehlgeschlagen:Connection Failed: Nested Exception. Failed to get connection. Please contact your admin.
        at com.sap.pct.plm.dmsrmconnectorforkm.DMSRMR3FunctionCalls.openConnection(DMSRMR3FunctionCalls.java:5868)
that seems to me that something is missing.
did you configured somewhat for WAS connection in your system object?
kind regards,
Darijo

  • DMS Document Management from SAP LSO and IT1062

    Hi Experts
I need to use the Knowledge Link Infotype (IT 1062) for linking to documents in the DMS for use from within SAP LSO.
I can upload the documents using Tx OAOR, but how do I add the link to the document in IT 1062?
Is there another way of uploading the document which I should be trying?
What is the best / easiest way to upload a document to DMS and also link to it in IT 1062?
    Thanks in advance
    Anton Kruse

    HI Everyone
I`v done a research and i believe its better to do the standard way of managing contents for LSO.
Based on my finding its better to use Kpro(Knowledge provider) for this purpose. DMS and CMS Services both are Kpro Services when DMS uses(in standard way) for documents related to MM and CMS recommended for LSO.
CMS can link to KM(Knowledge management) and also using Authoring Environment you can manage all contents related to LSO.
AE allows you to use external Authoring Tools in order to provide eLearning. indeed you can use CMS repositories to store LSO Docs.
Since you may decide to give users an access to learning material it is a good idea to upload docs in a way that easily being accessible from web.
Integration between CMS and DMS is possible( refer to link below: Integration of CMS & DMS).
    Authoring Environment:

  • DMS - Document Management

  • Link between table EKKO-EBELN and DMS - Document Management System

    Hi to all,
I wanted to know the form to connect or link the Document Info Record (inside "Define Object Link") to object DRAW (DMS) with table EKKO-EBELN (order head). In standard form it is possible to do it with EKPO (Purchase order item) This is in transaction DC10 Define Object Link.
    Thanks!
    Greetings
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
Within table DRAD you can see all linked objects to a specific document info record (DIR).
To be able to link objects to DIRs you have to maintain the correct objects in customizing.
First of it is necessary to maintain the correct screen numbers for all needed objects within the customizing. Therefore go to transaction SPRO and select
    Cross-Application Components
    > Document Management
    > Control Data
    > Maintain Screen for Object Link
Here you can enter all needed SAP objects with the name and
the related screen number. If you do not know the object or the screen number you can display a list of all SAP standard objects in transaction SE80 under function group CV130 ("Screens").
So for material master you maintain the following entry:
    SAP object Screen Description Auth.
    MARA 201 material master 1
Please note that the system automatically adds the leading "1" which is displayed in function group CV130 under
"Screens". So for object MARA you just have to enter 201 instead of 1201.
The value "1" in the column "Auth." is necessary to grant that always the latest dynpros and authorizations were used when linking this object to an document info record. This will avoid different problems by displaying linked documents from the object side.
The next step is to decide which objects should be used in the different document types. Therefore please go to transaction DC10 and choose the relevant document type. Afterwards please select "Define object links". Here you can
add all needed objects only by entering the object. The correct screen number is taken automatically. Also note the blue information buttons in the upper right corner which contain further necessary information about the possible settings of the current screen.
After doing these settings in customizing you should be able to link the maintained objects to document info records and oppositely by using the DMS transaction CV02N (tab "object links") or the object related transactions.
Important notes regarding the object link functionalities are:
Note 880077: Performance problem using object links
Note 885977: Extension to note 867241 on object links
Note 926060: Extension of note 885977 for object link Purchase Order
Note 960202: Object Links Deleted While Adding New Objects
Note 1002648: Wrong behavior while using RFC_CHANGE_DOCUMENT_MASTER

  • How to manage  Index of Aggregates?

    Hi Experts,
    I am in BW 3.5/PL 15 system.
In the manage of cube->Performance Tab, when I do 'check for Aggregate Index ' it shows red. This means the index of the aggregates are not maintained.
I understand by clicking the 'repair' option I can correct the Aggregates index. But It will not possible to do every time manually after the cube loads. Process chain doesn't give the option to create index for aggregates.
    Is there a way?

    hi kannan natarajan,
check out this option to u r requested.
.      On the Manage Data Targets screen choose Environment -> Automatic Request Processing. The Automatism Maintenance dialog box appears.
           2.      Under the group header Automatic Processing, set the Roll Up Data into the Aggregate indicator.
           3.      Save your entries

  • EHPI and DB2 DMS storage management

    Hi Guys,
I am having a trouble with Enhancement package installer while applying enchancement packs to ABAP instances in DB2 environment. I am using DMS  storage managementmethod  in DB2 for tablespace management. While applying the enhancement pack1 for netweaver the installation tool asks for creation of new tables and I create the required tables spaces as I needed. The tool fails with insufficent space in tablespaces. However the tablesspaces are setup to grow when required not like assigned free space in a tablespace. The file system has total 16GB available and it only needs about 3GB. Since it can't see some required freespace available with in the tablespace it can't proceed.
    1) Did any one face this issue. IF so how to overcome this issue.
    2) Is there anyway we can bypass this check and cotinue with installation. In some steps we can jump with a password but there is no such thing to this step.
Your early reply is highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Srini

EHPI tool itself check how much space you needed in a tablespace. You have to add that space in tablespace then only you can proceedd otherwise it will always show the error...
    thank sunny

  • Repositories Management Suggestion

Arch has quickly become my (favorite) distribution, but I had not noticed until yesterday, that there are quite a few easily usable repositories besides the 2/3 official ones: "Trusted User Repos" as well as privately hosted repos of not (yet) trusted users.
I like this idea a lot and am amazed, how Pacman allows such flexibility. And as I consider Arch as a distribution with a lot of potential, I have thought about optimizing this (already great) repo system with the following goals:
    · increase the number of packages available to Pacman
    · encourage users to contribute to the community by providing packages instead of just "configure, make, make install"ing.
    · reducing the administrational work for the user submission of packages (kind of automation of the user submitted packages, enhanced TUR system) and thus give the main developers more time for important things
    · still providing a good quality assurance of the packages in the TURs and of course in the official repos
Thus I suggest the following enhancements:
    · There should be three quality levels: Official Repos, TUR (Trusted User Repos), OUR (Open User Repos)  -> nothing new
    · Everybody who wants should be able to sign up (e.g. with his forum login) for an OUR at some central package management interface (like an enhanced packages.php on archlinux.org). She/He would have to provide own hosting. His repo (repo.db.tar.gz) gets scanned regularly to be included in the packages.php interface and a package voting facility is added to packages.php, so that all registered users (e.g. of the forum) can vote about this OUR.
    · As somebody has votes above a certain number and quality level, he gets promoted (fairly automatically) to the TUR level and gets hosting on the official server. Setting it up like this takes stability of the packages into account as well as demand for them.
    · With every new Pacman release the following repo lists will download: current, extra, release, unstable, TUR, OUR. But in pacman.conf only the official ones are enabled by default. This gives every user the stability and security of the current Pacman plus the possibility to easily use either the TUR-quality packages or even the OUR-quality packages.
If these suggestions sound good to the Arch community, I would offer to work on the necessary php/sql (?), of course closely cooperating with the devs. If you want this to be done in any other programming/scripting language, I am sorry that I can't help because of too little experience.
    Your thoughts?
Edit: I just (grr... now that I have written this already) found a post saying that Eric (?) is working on a new repository management. So that's great news... is there any more information available? Maybe he can use one of my ideas as well.

    just a couple of observations:

to the first point ..... i have never thought that there were too few packages.  Whe i installed arch there were only about 300 packages and never found that limiting. I look at something like Debian and think that there is a distro that has become burdened with too many packages and "flexibility" of the developers to offer not only so many packages but variations of packages. Think of how long it takes Debian to release a new version and you get the idea.
You also need more developers and it is REALLY HARD to find good developers Arch has had too many "developers" with "eyes bigger than their stomachs".
to point two .... when i read that people are not using ABS to build their own packages i get frustrated. the whole reason of having a good package management system is to have user use it for making packages and not just for installing/uninstalling packages.
to point three .... i think having easy and not well monitored access to user contributed packages is stupid an dangerous. sorry to be harsh but for every tom dick and harry to have access to the package repos is signing a death warrant for arch. it is an incredible security risk.
to point four ... worrying about TURs when there are not even a public statement on what one needs to be a TUR or even an Arch developer is a liitle silly i think.

well as you know AUR is being worked on. As I mentione dabove i think even AURs will require constant monitoring and administrating because a freely accessable system is just too dangerous. I think that having user contributions is extremely important but all contributions HAVE to be secure and only monitoring such submissions is very very important.
personally I do not use unstable, TURs or Staging and will not use any similar repos. I only use current and extra because i "expect" that those packages have been scrutinised enough (though this is not always true). as well, i don't like all sorts of extra crud in my files. i like arch because it's conf. files are not cluttered up with a bunch of stuff i don't want and having several repos i have no interest in falls in the cruft catagory for me. I am sure others have that view.
voting .... i don't agree with voting to include packages in official repos or URs if a package is built and contributed then SOMEBODY thinks it is necessary and as such every effort should be made to include it, eventually, in the official repos. there are alot of excellent applications out there that are not well used but every bit as good as popular counterparts. In fact when i was a package maintainer i added a bunch of packages that alot of people probably would not have even have thought of building or using but like. They may not be wildly popular but in the end they helped draw people or keep people with arch.
i hope i did not come off too harsh. i think most of your ideas are already planned to be a part of the new AUR. i just wanted to offer some concerns that you may not have considered. as you will notice many people will question qulity control throughout the year (me included) and having a loose user contribution system certainly does not help to dispell such complaints.
