EPM Architect - Missing Data Source when deploy

Hi,
I have an application on EPM which status is at the moment Not Deployed. It once worked but now when I try to deploy it's Data Source is missing, nor i can associate one to it. How can I recover this situation? The application was working until yesterday and the Data Source for the underlying application is present.
The Diagnostic does not show me the option to find suitable datasource for this application.
The Planning application works correctly, I tried to restart Planning and EPMA Services but without success.
Is there something I can do working on the tables in the EPMA schema?
Thank you,
bidi

Hi Celvin,
no I didn't play with the underlying tables. I ran the Diagnostic and it fails two tests:
- Not deployed but in Shared Services
     - a) Delete from EPMA only
     - b) Manually delete application from Shared Services
- Not Deployed status in EPMA, but in product
     - a) Delete from EPMA only. May run the Transform Classic to EPM Architect Wizard manually aftwrwards
     - b) Manually delete the application from the productnd
I think that Delete from EPMA and reverse from the underlying planning application would in a certain sense "fix" my issue, but I'm not so confident in this operation, I don't want for some reason override something on the Planning application.
In the forum I found that when the Data Source is set to NONE the diagnostic is able to recognize a data source that could fit. I don't know if in that case NONE is "NONE" as a string or is just missing, in my case I see an empty drop down list.
Thanks

  • Change PowerPivot data source when deploying from Dev - Staging - Production

    We have PowerPivot workbooks we store in SharePoint 2013 Libraries.
    We have a powershell script which automates the deployment of sites and pages. Is there a way using PowerShell (or any scripting language really) to look into the workbook and change the PowerPivot data source when deployment from one environment to
    another? (Dev -> Stage -> Prod) We need to update the workbooks to point to our SSAS cubes Dev -> Stage -> Prod respectively.
    Thank you for any expert advice you may offer,
    Sincerely,
    -Craig

    Basically, it's an excel file (XLSX) file and you can use excel OM for this.
    A simple program (in C# or any language of your choice) can be written to do the following and achieve what you need.
    using XLS = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel;
    string info = null;
    XLS.Application application = null;
    try
     application = new XLS.Application();
     var book = application.Workbooks.Open(filepath);
     foreach (XLS.WorkbookConnection wc in book.Connections)
      switch (wc.Type)
       case XLS.XlConnectionType.xlConnectionTypeOLEDB:
        info = wc.Name + " " + wc.OLEDBConnection.Connection.ToString() + "\r\n";
        break;
     book.Close();
    finally
     if (application != null)
      application.Quit();
    Hopefully, this was helpful.

  • Missing data-sources.xml deploying war with jdeveloper 9i RC

    When deploying a war file to an OC4J 1.0.2.2.1 server and error reports during the deployment that data-sources.xml is missing in the application-deployments/xxxx directory. Only the orion-application.xml file is present - which references a data-sources.xml file in the same directory. The problem is : it isn't there.
    When I copy the xml files from the applications/xxxx directory to the application-deployments/xxxx directory and redeploy the war file everything works fine.
    Is this a configuration issue or a bug ? Anyway, can somebody tell me how I can work around this problem ?
    Thanks !

    this is a bug and you have already found the workaround.

  • Issue with data source after deploying

    We are experiencing an issue with our data source after deployment of a cube. On the datasource properties in Visual Studio 2012, we have the max connections set to 0 before the deployment. Once the cube is deployed, I can navigate to the <name>.0.ds.xml
    file and open it and see that the <MaxActiveConnections>0</MaxActiveConnections> is indeed set to 0. At some point over the next couple days, a process of the cube or some other action causes that value to get updated to some number too large to
    be converted to an int, and makes the datasource invalid. At that point we cannot view the datasource properties in SSMS, we cannot open the cube project from Visual Studio, and we’ve even had failures when trying to process the cube.  Is there a config
    somewhere that would cause this value to get overwritten, or some other behind the scenes process that we can look at?

    Typically you would import the metadata from the source location and either use that location as the data source (and so not need to redeploy), or deploy it to a separate target location.
    The replace action is destructive as you've found, and effectively performs a drop table followed by create table. Hence any data in the table is lost.
    If you just want the Control Center Manager to correctly display that the table is deployed, try setting the action to "Upgrade". This will try to upgrade the deployed object to match the definition in OWB, but as the two are identical this will result in no changes. However, it will update the deployment records to indicate that the object is deployed.

  • Can we set the dynamic data source when using getReportParameters() ?

    Hello!
    I have a report where one of its parameters refers to a list of values (LOVs). This list of values is an SQL Query type. When the data source used in the report is defined in the BI Publisher server, I'm able to get the report parameters using the getReportParameters() function in my application. However, if the data source is not defined the function throws an exception, which is understandable.
    I decided to dynamically set the data source so that even if the data source used by the report is not defined in the BI Publisher server, it still will be able to get the LOVs for the parameter. I tried setting the JDBCDataSource of the dynamicDataSource for the ReportRequest object that I passed to the getReportParameters() function. Please see the sample code below:
    reportRequest.dynamicDataSource = new BIP10.BIPDataSource();
    reportRequest.dynamicDataSource.JDBCDataSource = new BIP10.JDBCDataSource();
    setReportDataSource(reportRequest.dynamicDataSource.JDBCDataSource, connectstr, jdbc, dc); //function to set the values for JDBCDataSource object
    reportParams = webrs.getReportParameters(reportRequest, uid, pwd); //call the getReportParameters
    I was expecting this to work as this is what I did to dynamically set the data source before calling the runReport function. So, my question is -- can we set the dynamic data source when using getReportParameters() ? I tried this both in versions 10g and 11g. It does not seem to work on both versions.
    Regards,
    Stephanie

    report_id column of apex_application_page_ir_rpt can help us uniquely identify each saved report.
    We can assign this report_id value to a page item and this page item can be put in the Report ID Item text box of the Advanced section of the Report Attributes page of the IR.
    This should load the saved report identified by report_id and you can get rid of javascript

  • How to change the Data sources after deploying the application ??

    Hi All,
    i want to know how to change the Data sources after deploying the application to the application server ???
    I'm using Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0)

    Can you access the Enrprise Manager website of the target Application Server from your location? If so, you can change the datasource in it. If not, yo can bundle the datasource definition in your archive and use that one instead of the one configured in the target OC4J container. Or this will just be the responsability of your customer: whenever you send a new WAR file, they have to modify the datasource if needed and deploy the application?

  • Create a Generic Data Source and deploy a webservice on a domain using WLST

    Hello for everyone,
    I usually create generic data sources and deploy webservices on a wls domain by using the Administrator Console. I wonder if you can pass me a script sample to do this task by using WSLT. On the other hand, if you can pass me a "quick start" guide about WLST, this would be very helpful.
    Additionally, may I be able to create groups, application roles and users to a domain by using WLST?
    Thanks for your help.

    You can use standard infoobjects as well..
    You can create a view on those R/3 tables and use this view for creating a generic datsource in RSO2 transaction..

  • Missing data source while opening Word in PB50

    Dear all,
    a customer reported an error in our HR system, where he's working on applications.
    The customer wanted to send a letter to an applicant. For this we are using the Word interface (RTF), which opens MS Word and fills in the applicant's data to the mail merge.
    For several letters a MS Word error occurs (german):
    xyz... ist ein Seriendruck-Hauptdokument. Word konnte die Datenquelle C:\Temp\R3_HR_DATASOURCE.SAP nicht finden.
    In English it may be something like this:
    xyz...is a main document for mail merge. Word was not able to find data souce C:\Temp\R3_HR_DATASOURCE.SAP
    When I click on "Options..." in this error window, I can choose an entry called "Daten/Steuersatzquelle entfernen", which means to remove connection to the data source. If I do so, Word opens correctly an the letter gets filled with data.
    I was searching for an SAP note and threads within these forums, but I did not find anything.
    Asking Google brought me to the MS support website, where this issue is mentioned (but without SAP). It was recommended to install Service Pack 3 for MS Word 2003, so I did, but nothing happened. Still the same problem.
    When I open the letter via PBWW, everything works fine. Even the word interface test was successful (report SAPRDEMOWORD97INTEGRATION).
    As I learned from another posting on the MS support website, it may be possible that macro security is set too high in MS Word. So I decreased it to "medium", but that did not help, too.
    Does anybody have an idea about this issue?

    Hi Tobias,
    I only found an error message when executing the method container_control->open_document
    But it isn't clear what causes the error message.
    In the open_document there are 2 possibilities . With us H_CONTROL and USER_INFO is always empty. and open_mode = -2, storage_mode = 513
    Has it something to do with this ?

  • Data sources in deploying web app. to Oracle Application Server

    I am using simple web application - JSP with BC4J (JDeveloper 9.0.5.1).
    I want to configure my application to use Data Source instead of JDeveloper connection and deploy it to production database, so DB administrator will take care of username and password.
    First, I create a new application module configuration that uses a data source instead of a JDeveloper connection with BC config. name TestAppModuleWithDS.
    Then I modify my application client (DataBindings.cpx) to use the new configuration (TestAppModuleWithDS).
    After that I create deployment profile and deploy to application server connection and try to test it on standalone server, and on production server together with my DBA.
    But the application is not running, always displaying error messages...
    Please what is the procedure and how to set Config of ApplModule.
    It is working properly with embeded server, but on standalone server there is an error:

    iAS 1.0.x is StoneAge Technology (TM).
    Using the E-Business Suite you should look into the newer versions of the Application Server. I believe that 10.1.2.x supports the EBS, otherwise 9.04 should do the trick. Webservice support is much better in the newer versions. 1.0.x is from around 2000/2001 so the Webservice technology back than was "different" :-)

  • BAM Data Source and deployment setting in weblogic

    like In db adapter we need to create datasource and deployment plan in weblogic. what I want to know is this same process is valid for BAM adapter also? If yes, what we will specify in baam data source (What configuration i need to give).
    one more thing i noticed that, Outbound connection pool option is also not coming under BAM configuration
    Please help!!
    Thanks,

    hello,
    For BAM related settings are out of the box in web-logic server,here below points are describes steps to setup the Datasource whatever you call;
    1. In the Settings for oracle-bam-adapter page, select the Configuration tab, and then the Outbound Connection Pools tab.
    2. Configure the connection factory interface that you intend to use in Oracle JDeveloper, by expanding the appropriate Group and Instance target and clicking the Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) name.
    3.     To configure the connection factory for RMI-based calls, click to expand the oracle.bam.adapter.adc.RMIConnectionFactory group and select the JNDI name that the user uses in Oracle JDeveloper. The eis/bam/rmi connection factory is provided out of the box.
    4.     To configure the connection factory for SOAP-based calls, click to expand the oracle.bam.adapter.adc.SOAPConnectionFactory group and select the JNDI name that the user uses in Oracle JDeveloper. The eis/bam/soap connection factory is provided out of the box.
    Hostname : local host (host name of BAM server)
    Instance Name: ADCServer1 (default for RMI)
    Password : welcome1 (password of BAM server)
    Port Number : 9001(port number of BAM server)
    Username : weblogic (user name of BAM server)
    5. after saving it need to re-deploy OracleBAMAdaper, In deployments select OracleBAMAdapter click Update button.
    I hope these steps are helpful.
    PS Outbound connection pool option is also not coming under BAM configuration -- for this check BAM server is running or not or any other BAM server installation or ect.
    Thanks

  • How do I edit data source when opening Lumira project on a new PC?

    I have been working on a project in Lumira for a client of the company I work for. The idea is that I build the Lumira project for them (with the goal of them being able to analyse data from their logistics department), and I then hand the completed project over to them, from which point they are able to update the data on a weekly basis.
    I have been updating the data (which is derived from an excel spreadsheet) for a number of weeks with no issue at all, and the client is thoroughly impressed with it, and with the capabilities of Lumira. The problem is that when I want to share the project with the client, ie. by allowing them to open it and edit it on their own computers I am unable to do so.
    This is the procedure I follow:
    From My Documents, I open the folder named SAP Lumira Documents, select the project in question, and email it to the intended recipients.
    From there, I instruct the recipients to open SAP Lumira, select File>Import to folder, and then select the project.
    When the project is open, it works and interacts perfectly, but at this point, I want the client to be able to do the following:Select Data>Edit; to allow them to specify a new data source (which is identical to the one upon which the project is built), and therefore be able to update the data as and when necessary, without my help.
    When I do this, however, I receive the following error:
    Unable to find file "File Name & Location"
    How do I work my way around this? I could rebuild the project on a computer at the client’s premises, but the idea is that many people are able to use this project, and refresh the data. So it is obviously impractical for me to rebuild this multiple times. I would really appreciate your assistance with this.

    To elaborate on Tammy's idea, you could use for instance C:\Users\Public at the place where you initially put your Excel file to make sure this is found on the target computer. I would consider this a workaround though.
    Or for Lumira documents that you already designed, change the location of the Excel file and use Data/Edit from your computer, then save the Lumira documents before sending them to the target audience.
    From my humble opinion, the product should allow to use Data/Edit and change the source file even if the initial file path is no longer found. This should be possible for your target audience.

  • Very Strange Problem... Missing hidden field when deployed on JBOSS

    This problem is driving me nuts. Here it is... When I deploy my app to TomCat it works fine. When I deploy to JBoss everything works except the links . When I select a link rendered via JBoss the directory containing the JSP is displayed. I can also see that my filters are not being called in this case. I compared the HTML produced by TomCat to the HTML produced by JBoss and there was one minor difference. This hidden field was not rendered in JBoss:
    <input type="hidden" name="contentView:contentForm:_idcl" />When I manually include this in the JSP and run JBoss.. It works.
    I have spent a full day trying to figure out when the hidden field is not being rendered when deployed to JBoss... I would very much appreciate any suggestions.. Thanks in advance. Paul

    Hi Paul,
    I have the same problem under deployment to WAS, all <h:commandLink>s are out of order. The hidden form field '...:_idcl' is missing in the generated JSP, but will be generated under Tomcat.
    Have you found a solution?
    Cheers, Ralf.

  • Creating data sources when database is in standby mode

    Hi,
    We have two oracle db in prod environment. One will always be running and the other will be in standby mode. Is it possible to create multi data source without shutting down the managed server and bringing up the standby database.
    Thanks

    Hi, yes. Define the DataSource to the standby DBMS with an initial capacity of zero,
    so it doesn't try to make a connection until it's actually asked for one. Then
    make the MultiDataSource a failover, listing the up DataSource as the first, and
    the standby as the second.
