Equium A60: Blue Screen issue

I've got a Equium A60 Series (PSA667E), reconditioned. There's a blue screen apearing sometimes, when I start up, sending me a message of error. I've tried to upgrade my BIOS, as the website indicated. But a message tell me that I dont need, because its already upgraded. So, I've got the correct BIOS but my blue screen problem persist. What can I do....

Hi
Sometimes the blue screen appears because of serious software error or a hardware malfunction (memory). Well, its not easy to say why this message occurs in you case because we dont have detailed informations. Usually the OS installation solves commonly the blue screen errors. But if there is a hardware fault so only a ASP could solve this issue.

  • Equium A60 Blue Screen after updating to XP Home SP2

I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692. I have updated to XP SP2 and now get a blue screen on start up with the message that ATI driver ATI2DVG has gone into a continuous loop. The Microsoft error report says this is due to incompatable drivers, but I have the latest driver from Toshiba.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    HI Laura,
if it is important for you to install SP2 on your notebook you should try a complete new OS.
At first save your data on an external device (CD, DVD, USB-HDD, ...) and start the Toshiba recovery CD. But pay attention all data will be lost, also other partitions!!!
After the new fresh OS is ready, update your drivers, Tools and QFEs from Toshiba HP and install it!
I the end try the SP2 installation! Then it should run!

  • Please help!! x100e blue screen issue

    Hey everyone,
I'm new on here, trying to help out my sister who's in school and so far failing miserably!
She has a x100e and developed the blue screen issue.
I did a bunch of reading on it- but have never seen an error message.
I formatted the hard drive for her (it needed it anyways) hoping that would help.  It didn't.  It also lost the wi-fi, I had to download a new driver from lenovo to get the wi-fi working again.  It is now working, but still has the blue screen.
Any help?  I wanna give it back to her but proving to be useless.
Thanks for any and all help!

How will anyone help you w/o error message on the top of blue screen and problem signature description?

  • Have a Blue Screen issue, read this from Apple...

Just posting a link for people who may have the blue screen issue, I snagged this from another thread in hopes of bringing it out front more: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306857

    Hello rita240,
The steps below can help resolve issues with your iPhone's display.
This can include bright or dark pixels, lines in video, or sections of video missing.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Verify the issue is not content related, by viewing different content.
If the image is too dark, adjust the brightness. In General Settings choose Brightness and Wallpaperand slide the slider.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • A60: Blue Screen error message after recovering procedure

i have an A60, and over the last 3 months i have ran the recovery disk 10-15 times, windows installs fine, then a few days later the computer either freezes and gives a blue screen of death when you try to turn it on, or it starts up and comes up with a message saying "windows explorer has encountered a problem" and then completely stops responding, or gives a similar message regarding something called Dr Watson Kernal Debugger and equally, stops responding, now. having tried formatting and scanning as well as getting on my knees and begging the computer to please please please work, i am out of ideas, maybe the hard drive is the problem? is it a common A60 fault?
also in a completely unrelated issue, where can i get a new "c" key, mine keeps falling off for some reason.

    Hi
Usually the blue screen appears because of a serious software or hardware malfunction.
In you case I suggest that there could be something wrong with the hardware. Of course there could be also something wrong with the HDD. But to be 100% sure you should contact the Toshiba service. He can make some diagnostic tests.
You can also order the additional keyboard buttons from the Toshiba service partner who is responsible for your country.

  • Sat Pro A60: Blue screen error

I have had my satellite pro A60 laptop for around 6 months and recently a blue screen has started flashing up with white writing scrolling down really fast and then the laptop restarts itself. I don't have time to read what this writing says. Can any one give me any advice on what this could be and how to fix the problem ?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi
Well, the simple way is to reinstall the OS. But if you want, you can disable the automatically restart function of Windows Xp to read this error massage.
Go to System in Control Panel. Then Advanced tab. In the Startup ad Recovery section press setting button. There you need to disable the option Automatically restart.
But its very difficult to understand the blue screen error message for common users.
    Bye

  • IMac start-up blue-screen issue

I've seen other posts on this, but I'm not sure what to do next (so sorry for the repetition). I have a PPC iMac from late 2005. A few days ago, it froze while the screen saver was running. I held in the power button until it shut off, restarted it, and all seemed fine. Last night it froze while in use. I forced it to power off, but when I tried to power on, it wouldn't start up completely. I saw the gray Apple logo/gears screen, then it froze at a blue screen. What I've tried so far:
    1. Disconnected external Firewire drive used for TimeMachine backups. (Possibly unrelated problem - TimeMachine reported "can't complete backup because drive is read-only" last week; errors did not return after I ran repair disk through Disk Utility.)
    2. Restarted in safe mode successfully. Wasn't sure exactly what to do then, but I repaired permissions and verified the disk (repair disk selection was grayed out) through Disk Utility. Permission repair found several "issues", which I assume it repaired. Verify disk reported no problems. System Profiler reported that the 1.5 GB RAM installed (original 512 KB plus 1 GB I installed a year or so ago) was OK.
    3. Reset SMU.
    4. Reset PRAM.
[While I was started in safe mode, I ran ChronoSync to get pretty much everything synced over to my MacBook. I assume I have some good back-ups on my external drive (was backing up the iMac to that, not the MacBook, but the MacBook and iMac were pretty much in sync, anyway). If the iMac is dead, I'm in good shape in terms of recoverability.]
I have not attempted to start the iMac in target disk mode as I wasn't sure what to look for if I did. The iMac, of course, is out of warranty and didn't have AppleCare. My closest Apple Store is 60 miles away, although there is an authorized repair facility in my city. There's a limit to how much money I'd want to put into the iMac, so I was hoping to attempt more diagnosis before going there.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Faye

Update - some quality time with Google last night resulted in a suggestion to install the latest Leopard update with the combo update (I had updated to 10.5.7 with the incremental update). I downloaded the combo update, installed it, and was able to start up my iMac as usual and log into any of the accounts. I shut down the iMac for the night at that point. This evening, I started it up, started iTunes and Safari, and shortly after that, it locked up again and I had to force it to turn off by holding the power button. Note that I had reconnected my printer and external drive (Firewire) after iTunes and Safari were running - not sure if this has anything to do with anything. I reinstalled the 10.5.7 combo update, but the iMac would not get past the blue screen again, unless I started in Safe Mode.
Carolyn - I'm not sure if you're suggesting I run DU from my other Mac (MacBook) in target disk mode or if I should run it from my install disk. I did just run a repair disk from my MacBook, with my iMac in target disk mode. That didn't report any errors (DU says that S.M.A.R.T. status is not supported), but the iMac still won't boot normally. I had tried to boot from my install disk last night without success, but I may not have held down the 'C" key long enough. Do I use the original install disk (Tiger) or should I use my Leopard upgrade disk?
(I have to admit that the news about Snow Leopard being available for Intel machines only is making me wonder if I should let the PPC iMac die with dignity and get a new iMac or stick with just the MacBook, but it will annoy me if it has died at less than 4 years old. I expected better from Apple.)
    Thanks,
    Faye

    CPU: Intel Q9550
RAM: 4 x 1GB 1066 PC2-8500 Kingston HyperX Ram (pulled each one and tested)
Hard Drive: Seagate 500GB SATA (Tested-No issues)
Video Card: XFX 9800 GT, 512MB GPU (Brand new..Replaced 8800 GT)
Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit. (Reloaded)
Worked fine for approximately 9 months.  Now however I am getting recurrent Blue Screens, even after testing each piece and following the instructions given on other threads in this forum.  Please advise.

To reach stability (still testing as I don't quite trust it yet but it looks promising)
**This is after testing PSU, And Hard drives for failure**
1 Replaced the Video Card (It was artifacting as the blue screens started, but they continued after replacement)
2 Repair installed OS to make sure it was not software related
    2 Blew out dust
    3 Updated Bios
4 Pulled CMOS battery and replaced it
5 Pulled all but 1 stick of RAM (Tested each stick separately to make sure they were still good) set to auto settings in bios
7 Reinstalled OS to Fresh drive
8 Installed Newest drivers and updates
9 Reinstalled the other 3 GB of RAM
everything appears stable now....but if something happens I will be sure to let you know

  • Ipad mini with retina display and iOS 8.0.2 blue screen issues

    Hello
My iPad mini with retina display with iOS8.0.3 is still showing up blue screen occasionally every day and restarting automatically. How to solve this?

    Hi!
I am facing the same issue too. But how come you have 8.0.3 while the whole world is on 8.0.2 ?
I tried resetting my iPad, restoring it, hard reset through DFU mode but NONE worked. It seemed to be okay for few days but then it started getting the blue screen restarts again.
Monday is the day, hoping 8.1 will fix this issue. ELSE Apple should shut the f*** up and instead of releasing all new line of products and concentrate on the disastrous OS it is rolling out.
    Regards

  • Windows 7 Blue Screen Issues With Alt-tabbing From WoW

As the title says, lately I've been having blue screens which are mostly caused by wow.
Previously I've had the occasional bsod (once a month or so) when alt tabbing, but it was pretty rare. However recently, I've had something more like 1 a day, usually caused by alt tabbing out of wow. It seems the longer I'm alt tabbed the more likely it
is to happen. I haven't experienced the same problem with any other game, although the occasional monthly ones usually happen when I'm changing my music as I alt tab out of League of Legends.
I downloaded bluescreenview and it appears the cause is some combination of win32k.sys as well as ntoskrnl.exe             Based off the fact that it is happening more with a more demanding game, I'm guessing the problem is
most likely due to a bad stick of ram, but I'd like a second opinion.
I'll attach a few of the most recent dump files (the one today is slightly different than the ones last week which seems slightly odd).

Right, so the code wanted to write to 00000000`00000020 which as we can see above is a completely invalid address. The 1st parameter and cr2 however note we failed writing to address
fffff900c25efcf0. This does not make sense, and is essentially not logically possible.
The hardware was told to write to 00000000`00000020, and the hardware came back and said 'I cannot write to
fffff900c25efcf0'. Another way to think about it is if you kindly asked the waiter of your table for more water, he writes it down, but comes back and says 'I'm sorry, but we're all out of coffee'.
    1. Uninstall any/all installed Asus bloatware, I for example see Asus PC Probe, and AI Suite.
    2. Remove and replace avast! with Microsoft Security Essentials for temporary troubleshooting purposes as it may be causing conflicts:

    MSE -
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download
    3. If the above fails, you have faulty RAM.

  • Time Warner Cable Blue Screen Issue

Some time ago Time Warner cable (Road Runner) upgraded their system. They now require Flash Player to access their pages. For the past three days I have worked on and off with Level 2 Road Runner Techs to get my Mac to acess their web page.
Up to that time I only got a "Blue Screen"!
Here are my particulars: OS 9.2.2, Flash Player 7.2 installed, IE version 5.1, Adobe Reader installed, Cookies erased, History cleared from IE Preferences advanced,
To get access to their web page I should type in www.dc.rr.com/flash/
    I get blue screen.
If I type in www.rr.dc.com/rdrun/ I get a Road Runner "sell" page with no link to their "Home Page"
My last go around with Road Runner Techs was fatal as they said I should contact Microsoft.
Microsoft no longer supports telephone supprot for Macintosh. If you go to their web page they want $35.00 for online access to their techs with no guarantee they can solve the problem.
Does anyone have any knowledge as to how to solve this problem so I can access the Home page of the provider I pay handsomly monthly?
Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
    John

    When I type in www.dc.rr.com/flash/ I get this;
    The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
    Please try the following:
    • If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
    • Open the www.dc.rr.com home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
    • Click the Back button to try another link.

    • More information:

This means that there is a problem with the web page and not necessarily with your computer. Just typing www.dc.rr.com without slash anything gives me their home page.

  • Equium A60 - AC adaptors issue

    Hi all,
My Equium A60 keep blowing the power unit.
It has blown 4 so far - 2 were cheap rubbish but 2 were branded so should have been reliable.
I recently upgraded the ram to 1.25 GB and upgraded the HD from 60GB to 80GB and it had been overheating and cutting out.
Would this be causing the laptop to blow the adapter?
    Geoff

    Hello
This notebook model is pretty old and who knows in which condition the hardware is. Have you ever cleaned it up?
Upgrade should not have any negative influence. Overheating means the notebook cannot be cooled down properly. In most cases the cooling vents and cooling grill are blocked by dust.
So I am afraid it is the time for professional cleaning.
About AC adaptors I cannot say much but be careful about that. Dont make some experiments. Protect yourself and protect the area where you use the notebook. the best way to do this is to contact nearest Toshiba authorized service provider. they should check the notebook to see what is wrong there.

  • Equium A60-191: Modem issue - Only analog phone lines are supported

My Equium A60 was powered up when lightning struck nearby and caused the electricity supply to go off and back on.
The OS is XP Home and my ISP is AOL. When I try to access the Net by DUN, I receive the repeated error message:
"Connected phone line is not compatible with this modem. Only analog phone lines are supported."
My desktop computer, which also uses AOL, still connects to the same phone line without any problem.
I have rebooted the A60 several times; changed and tried out 2 phone connnection cables - both work; the phone line works fine; I have reinstalled the driver provided on this site; removed the tick from the box that says to wait for the dial phone; checked out that the modem is in working and on the Device Manager list. All of this is to no avail.
Troubleshooter is suggesting that COM 3 is not enabled. I cannot see COM 3 listed in Device Manager, under Ports.
I have tried Google and ASK with the error message. There are not many posts and it appears that the Toshiba modem is in fact an Agere. This makes seems to be the subject of some of the complaints.
Finally I have uninstalled the driver/modem, AOL and one other DUN connection. I rebooted and went through the process of installing "New Hardware" and AOL. Whilst the modem is enabled and allegedly working... I am still unable to connect to the Net. I reinstalled an additional 'pay as you go' ISP. When I try to dial out on that it generates the error 680. It does this even when the box is unchecked, for wait for a dial tone.
I would be most grateful if anybody could help. I have run out of ideas.
    Many thanks.

    Hi
You are right, the modem support the Agere Modem Chip.
You will not find the COM3 in the device manager because the modem uses not real com port. Its a virtual com port.
I think you should start the diagnostic tool test and check if the Modem has no malfunction.
Additional you should delete the connection in the Region Select Utility and after new reboot create a new one.
I found also the useful Microsoft article about the Troubleshooting network and dial-up connections.
    http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/trouble_all.mspx?mfr=true
and here you will find info about the DUNS error 680:

My previous laptop was HP, so i got another. and now i will not repeat this mistake.

OK, stop 0x0116 indicates a problem with your graphics driver.
I suggest you boot your system in safe-mode (hit F8 repeatedly prior to the windows loading screen pops up, and you should get a startup menu. Select boot to safe-mode. Starting the system in safe-mode should work, and you should then be able to uninstall your graphics drivers.
After uninstalling reboot normally and reinstall using the latest graphics drivers available.

After update to iOS8 over wifi, my iPad Mini with Retina Display is working perfectly, however I had an issue twice since yesterday. While using it, I observed the screen became totally blue (like Windows crashing) and the ipad restarted. Anyone facing such issues?

    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset
