You Java version is 32bit and is ancient where you platform seems to be 64bit. I highly suggest using a recent JDK.

I guess this is the problem, dbms_type must be "ADA".

MaxDB 7.8 error upgrading from EHP4 to EHP5
I'm upgrading ECC600 from EHP4 to EHP5 (ramp-up release) in a Maxdb 7.8 and Linux Suse 11 environment.
The source release have an 7.01 kernel.
With sapehpi, in the phase PREP_INTEGRATION/TABSPC_PREP, I have an error in GDBSSHD.LOG file:
TPERR- error in dbdd_get_size: 2
TPERR- msg: POS(60) Unknown column name:OWNER
Accordingly with notes 1142632 and 1447663, I installed the new 7.01 kernel (version 117) without changes.
I copied also the new dbsdbslib.so file in the installation directory, but there are no changes.
Any suggestion?
ThanksUnfortunatelly, after the correction, I try to restart the SAPehpi and in the PREP_INTEGRATION/TABSPC_PREP phase I had another similar error; in the TABSPCP.LOG file there are this message:

In the file TP.ECO the error is:

Excel layout changed after EHP5 upgrade from EHP4.
Hi All,
We have just finished the EHP5 upgrade from EHP4 for ECC 6.0 for our production system. BUT we noticed that The standard layout, (also known as Dynamic List Display) has been chagned in EHP5 compare to EHP4.
This is affected us as we have lot of macros enable for the excel files.
Request you all to help. Is there any sapnote, anyway we can resolved this issue.
ThanksHi Markus,
Thanks for reply.
I not sure how i can attached file over here? Is there anyway to attached files in the forum?. I have the before and after image of excel file.
But the position of the data which is downloaed in the excel sheet has been changed after upgrade. For example ,Before upgrade the column named "Description" in the production plan report was in the second column i.e. B where as after upgrade the "Description" column in the production plan report is in the first column i.e. A.
I mean the postion of the data changed in after upgrade. Therefore macro which are enable are not working anymore.
New Format Example
Production plan
Description Material Sales doc.
IRB 2600 M2004 3HAC020536-018 104861
IRB 2600 M2004 3HAC020536-018 2BT0615486
OLD Format
Production plan
Description Material Sales doc.
IRB 2600 M2004 3HAC020536-018 104861
IRB 2600 M2004 3HAC020536-018 2BT0615486
Hope this above will help to make it clear.
After checking this message ... the output example given above seems to be not showing the way i itend to... But in above example in the old format the Description column was at column B instead of column A after upgrade.
Thanks

Repository upgrade from 8i to 10g database
We are currently upgrading from the 9i developer suite to the 10g developer suite. The repository for the designer tool resides on an 8i database and I want to migrate to a 10g database. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best do this?
Bruce,
You could take a Complete Export of the repository on the 8i Database and then import it back into an new Repository user on the 10g Database using the RAU.
Please take care that proper Import/Export utilities are used to perform this action.

Upgrade from Palm Z22 preserve database
I don't want to lose my Palm database but I can't access it under Windows 7.
I'm willing to upgrade from my Z22. Haalp!
Post relates to: Palm Z22This applies if you have a 64bit Windows operating system. Palm only put 32bit Windows drivers with all versions of there desktop software. Palm was only the producer of the Palm hardware. Access was the company who wrote the Palm/Garnett software. Access never produced a driver for 64bit Windows systems. They do sell the Garnett operating system to several hardware companies. One of these companies Aceeca produces a 64bit Windows driver and offered it to the Palm community. There is a very good tutorial written by WyreNut. !read the post titled. (64bit drivers are here) This is where you will find the 64bit Windows driver and install directions.

ECC6.0 - upgrade from EHP4 to EHP6 - cross release transports.
Hi Experts
We are planning to upgrade our system from ECC6.0 -EHP4 to EHP6.
Source - ECC6.0-EHP4
Target - ECC6.0-EHP6(Enhancement pack6)
Current ECC version -
SAP_BASIS 701 0014 SAPKB70114 SAP Basis Component
SAP_APPL 604 0013 SAPKH60413 Logistics and Accounting
We would like to know during the project if we can do a transport
between upgraded development ECC6.0 -EHP6 to non upgrade production ECC6.0-EHP4.
We have data from note 1090842 and 1273566.
But last 10 lines of note 1090842 are contradictory wherein on one side it says you can do transports between Releases 7.0*, 7.3* and 7.4* and
on other it says it can be problem if support pack levels are different on same release.(if problem can happen on same release with different pack
level then there are greater chances of issues between different releases).Note 1273566 is clear and suggest no issues exist yet for
technical and logical transports between suggested version 700/701 to >=702
Also below is the extract from SUM guide - (SUM-1.0-SP07)
RECOMMENDATION
We strongly recommend that you perform transports only between systems of the same release or enhancement package level, and where the same business functions are activated. If you do not follow this recommendation, you do so at your own risk regarding potential problems.
Please suggest if we need to create Dual maintainance parallel landscape during the tenure of project where two development system co-exist.One
with current and one with upgraded version and changes need to be done on both in parallel.Support fixes and LTO’s go from non upgraded dev to non upgraded prod.
ThanksHello
I won't perform cross version transport even if it can be possible.
As of 7.02 cross version transport are prevented by default with option SP_TRANS_SYNC (see here under note).
The best way is, if possible, to have a manual dual maintenance. All corrections created in the Ehp4 dev should be manually recreated in the Ehp6 dev.
What is usually done is to upgrade at first a copy of production for test/discovery purpose, the aim is to identify most of the regressions/evolutions. This will reduce the time you will have to spend in the migrated dev to adjust your system. You then migrate dev and enter in a freeze period where you reduce activity on legacy Ehp4 system to the minimum (bug correction for prod).
One good thing with the manual reprocessing of changes on the Ehp6 system is that this kind of constraint will help consultants to reduce their activity.

Failed to upgrade from ERP 6.0 EHP4 to EHP5
Dear SAP Gurus,
we are running ERP 6.00 with EHP4 (HCM-component) based on Windows 2003
SP2 X64 and SQL Server 2005 SP4 (64-bit).
We are using SAP Kernel Unicode 7.01 PL 133 (64-bit).
We intend to upgrade from EHP4 to EHP5.
Upon running SAPehpi, we encountered issue which stopped us from
proceeding with the upgrade.
Case 1: Direct upgrade to 605
The upgrade failed on PREP_INPUT/VERSCHK_INI with error message: The
following combination is not supported (SAP_APPL 600, SAP_BASIS 701,
SAP_ABA 701).
Case 2: Upgrade SAP_APPL component from 600 to 604 (due to the above
error message)
The upgrade failed on PREP_INPUT/VERSCHK_INI with error message:
Release '701' of component SAP_BASIS is too new.
Case 3: upgrade via SAINT is not supported by SAP. When uploading the
Stack XML file, we got error saying that the stack is not supported.
Attached is the complete list of the current SP Level of Installed
components.
Please advise on how we can perform the upgrade to EHP5.
Many thanks in advance.
regards,
DennyThe thing is Solution Manager was able to produce the XML file during the previous upgrade to 604 (the one without SAP_APPL 604).
So how can it not be supported by SAP?
If it is not supported by SAP, how can I proceed from here?

Cannot upgrade from 9i databases to 10.2.0.3 on Solaris
You cannot upgrade from Oracle 9.2 database to 10.2.0.3 on Solaris. You can upgrade to 10.2.0.2, then to 10.2.0.3 There is a serious problem though doing a direct upgrade, the database will not function. You get
ORA-06512: at "SYS.UPGRADE_SYSTEM_TYPES_FROM_920", line 1
Has anyone got around this problem yet? Metalink is trying to fix the problem, but hasn't had any luck yet. Tired of having two different 10G directories on servers when migrating databases. Also was horrible during the first upgrade to discover the problem. It has been tested and is a known problem with the Oracle 10.2.0.3 patch (along with 2 other bad issues on 10.2.0.3 patch).I have had no issues going from 9.2.0.7 to 10.2.0.3 three weeks ago in our staging environment, since then I have not seen any problem.
Installed 10.2.0.1 base applied 10.2.0.3 pactchset to the same oracle home.
The catupgrd.sql script upgraded the following components in my database.
Oracle Database 10.2 Upgrade Status Utility 05-23-2007 01:43:07

Error during MaxDB upgrade from 7.3.00.42 to 7.5.00.32
Hello all,
I am attempting to upgrade from MaxDB 7.3.00.42 to 7.5.00.32, as part of a migration from HP-UX 11.11 to Windows Server 2003. The MaxDB database supports a Content Server 6.30 application, and from what I have found so far, I need to upgrade/patch to 7.5.00.51 on the HP-UX server, before I can migrate using the loadercli (as per note 962019).
While performing the upgrade to 7.5.00.32 (following the steps in the Upgrade Guide to MaxDB 7.5), I receive the following error.
chperm 660 sdb:sdba /sapdb/data/config/SDB.mmm
user sdb can access /sapdb/data/config/SDB.mmm
remove /sapdb/data/wrk/dbmsrv.prt
remove /sapdb/data/wrk/SDB.knl
remove /sapdb/data/wrk/SDB.mdf
permissions for databases as of version 7.5.00 are used on your system
database owner is sdb
administrators group is sdba
owner of SDB is sdb (sdba sdba)
user_logon failed
Obviously there is a permissions problem of some kind, but I have not been able to pinpoint where. I allowed the DDUPDATE.SH script to create the user SDB, and it appears to have been created successfully and was used during the earlier steps of the upgrade script.
While working with SAP support I confirmed that I could connect to the database using the SDB user and I also executed the sdbverify, which completed successfully. As per the upgrade guide, I am logged in to HP-UX as root when running the upgrade (and when I ran sdbverify).
If anyone has suggestions on the cause of this error, I would greatly appreciate any assistance.
Best Regards,
Rusty RobbinsIsn't that how it always goes...
I have been fighting this for 4-5 days, and had replied back and forth with support, with no luck on a resolution. But of course just as soon as I post my question here, support comes back with the answer!. I guess that just goes to show how good the SDN site is! ;p
Anyway, the answer to my problem was related to the group permissions on this HP-UX server. The ddupdate script did create the SDB user and set the primary group as SDBA, which normally would give the SDB user all rights for that group. However, in this case the error continued to occur, until I explicitly added the user SDB to group SDBA (at the request of SAP support). This upgrade step did finish successfully, and I am now continuing on with the other steps to migrate to Windows. Hopefully the rest of the steps will go smoother...

Upgrading from SCM 4.1 to SCM 2007/5.1 (HP-UX/MaxDB)
Here's my challenge - I need to upgrade an SCM 4.1 system (HP-UX IA64 11.23/MaxDB 7.5) to SCM2007/5.1. From what I can see in the Product Availability Matrix, SCM2007/5.1 requires MaxDB 7.7. What I need to know is how and when should the MaxDB database and liveCache be upgraded from 7.5 to 7.7 (or 7.5 > 7.6 > 7.7). I've tried to run PREPARE on the first system we wanted to test the upgrade on, but it fails with the following hard error: "ERROR: MaxDB Version is not supported by this upgrade. ERROR: Error in database software path determination (ERR -10)". This leads me to believe I need to upgrade the database before upgrade upgrading the application, yet I can't seem to find this requirement documented in any of the SCM upgrade guides.
Any assistance will be appreciated.
JohnHi Kaushik
just a little input about funtional DP (not sure of system architectural improvements) :
I dont think performance would drastically improve per se
the areas that might be of some impact/ use in terms of performance are -
- parallel processing profiles
- macro improvements
- changes in Admin Workbench (BW 7 functionality might make things easier)
- changes in Planning area (no negatives for eg can help remove macros that used to do that function making it easier)
The important improvements are in more functionality
Its recommended to do some better process and layout deisgns to get performance improvements
pl note, there would be an initial long run time the first time you perform any transaction because of indexes being created -
Upgrade from 4.6C to ERP6.0 EHP4 NW7.01 fails on EHP_INCLUSION
Hello dear friends at SDN forums,
We are performing an upgrade from a 4.6C Non Unicode source release to a SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 based on NW 7 EHP1 Non Unicode.
Every phase has gone more or less fine until the current phase EHP_INCLUSION in SAP EHPI tool.
We are trying to specify the stack file manually, cosu00B4 SAP EHPI does not find it automatically via RFC against Solution Manager. I donu00B4t discard a possible missconfiguration in the RFC destination "BACK" configuration (the one that points from our target system to the Solution Manager), but thatu00B4s another story.
Anyway, that shoulnu00B4t be relevant for the trouble Iu00B4m expressing.
As we are on source release 4.6C I must make use of the .txt stack file and not the .xml file, as per SAP notes.
The symptom: everytime I retry that EHP_INCLUSION phase, it complaints about "Sever errors detected. Error Code = -1. Reason: The stack configuration does not contain a product stack".
Iu00B4ll also paste here the contents of the EHP_INCLUSION.log trace file:

That file was generated from Solman Mopz, was saved with a short path name just in case it could be problematic.
The Solman is on version NW 7 EHP1. Our 4.6C SPAM version is 50 (the latest available).
Iu00B4ve been fighting this issue for several days unsuccessfully, and it seems like thereu00B4s no documentation on it.
Iu00B4ve re-read SAP notes , master, EHP and upgrade guides several times, and also similar problems (but not exactly the same as mine) here at SDN forums.
Besides, now Iu00B4m having a problem to create customer messages to OSS which will last a few days (due an issue with our old installation number in SAP Service Marketplace). Thatu00B4s why Iu00B4m trying to obtain support from this forum, before we can obtain a response from SAP OSS.
Has anybody experienced something similar?
Thanks in advance for your help.
JavierHi FDK,
As far as I´m concerned, I promise I will write how we solved it when we get it.
The news are: at last we could create a customer message to SAP Support, and SAP has told us to:
1) Ensure that our Solution Manager is in a sufficiently high SP Stack level. In our case, as we have a Sol. Manager based on NW 7 EHP 1 with SP Stack level 20, they are asking us to apply SP Stack level 22 as first meassure.
2) In case we cannot afford to do the mentioned meassure immediately, then they suggest us another possibly working option: to downgrade our SPAM 4.6C from level 50 to 48. There is a SAP Note that explains how a reimport of a Support Package for SPAM can be done (and it seems like it´s even possible to downgrade the SPAM level, I didn´t know that):
SAP Note 684564: Re-importing a SPAM/SAINT update
So, now we are working on these suggestions. As the Solution Manager is really not "ours", but belongs to our SAP VAR (partner), we need to wait until they can schedule this technical task.
So, right now the immediate task I´m trying to perform is downgrading our SPAM 4.6C from level 50 to 48.
But, I have a problem and have just let know it to SAP in the customer message: I have no way to get such level 48 of SPAM 46C. SAP always only hosts the last (or the 2 most recent as much) version of SPAM in the Software Download Center of SAP Service Marketplace. Thus, right now if you navigate in SAP Service Marketplace you´ll only find the 50 level version of SPAM 4.6C. I´m again waiting for SAP ´s response concerning this.
Best regards,

Follow up activities after SAP (CU&UC) upgrade from SAP 4.6c to ECC6 EHP4
Dear Friends
We have completed SAP (CU&UC) upgrade from SAP 4.6c to ECC6 EHP4.
We refereed the upgrade guide for follow activities and we required confirmation before performing the activities.
Could you please help us what needs to be done immediately after upgrade.
Regards,
BharathiDear Nils,
Thanks for the support.
Yes, we are following the same document 'CUUC46C_to_NW701SP07' for unicode conversion after the upgrade from the note 928729.
Please suggest us in that document which are the steps should be carried out after ECC6.0 EHP4 upgrade,
1. Preparation
2. Unicode Preconversion Phase in SAP Basis 4.6C
3. Upgrade Process
4. Unicode Conversion Phase
5. Unicode Conversion Completion Phase
6. SAP Notes

After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version". Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Sorry,
Yes, the error message is exactly like that ("Database error: failured to persist version")
No photos will import at all. I use USB to import from iPhone 5s or iPad 2.
About the difference? iPhoto and Photos . Are there two softwares?
I also will like to merge and/or synchronize all my photos I had saved to iCloud backups, Macbook Pro, iPhone 5s and iPad hard drives using iPhoto. It's call iPhoto library. At one point I turned off streaming.
Thanks again Larry HN. -
Hello everyone;
We are in the process of looking into upgrading from our current Oracle 9.1.0.8 to Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2): Windows
We would like to download and install the 10.2.0.1 base release (Oracle Software). When I go on SAP Marketplace
https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/oracle-download and goto the (Software Download) section and click on
Oracle 10.2 Software (32-bit versions) to download I receive a error NO DATA AVAILABLE.
Is there another area to download the Oracle Software? or do I need to purchase a CD from SAP or can I download this base release straight from Oracle?
Thanks for your time and have a great day.Hello Pellegrino,
just download it from the SAP container for each product .. for example
-> Installations and Upgrades - Entry by Application Group -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 -> Windows Server -> ORACLE
Regards
Stefan

Hiding the desktop during presentations
I often do presentations on a beamer and have at times a messy desktop. My question is, is it possible to hide the desktop, or make it temporarily invisible so people do not see what is all on my desktop. I know I could clean it up, but somehow I lik
