ERR Driver Status: (Hex 0xBFFA2003) Max Time exceeded before operation completed. (TEK DPO2014)

Hi NI.
I'm trying to aquire signals from an Tektronix DPO2014 oscilloscope using Labview SignalExpress.
I have downloaded and installed the appropriate driver (at least I think )) : tkdpo2k using NI download station.
I run an ethernet connection and I do see the device in MAX, however im not quite sure if I have configured the IVI driver sessions correctly.
Anyway, when I open Signal Express, and select "IVI scope aquire" I can select my device under "resource descriptor" and the appropriate driver under "Instrument driver". I then turn on my Oscilloscope, tune in the machines tachogenerator, which is the signal the oscilloscope is to measure, and then select "autosetup" The sinosoidal waweform shows up on the oscilloscope and in SignalExpress, it is only done once. I then try and run the program and the error message accurs:
Timeout.
<ERR>Driver Status:  (Hex 0xBFFA2003) Max Time exceeded before operation completed.
Is the problem regarding problems with triggertime or write/read problems with the TCP/IP connection?
What can I do to fix this problem?

How are you communicating? GPIB? Are you sure you have the correct address. Can you send an IDN command with MAX? Does MAX see the instrument?

I  am trying to get a reading from the KE6487, but I am receiving the following error.
"KE6485 Initialize.vi<ERR> Driver Status:  (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed."
The driver I download for this device is KE6485, but is also compatible for KE6487. Therefore I think it should not be a problem.
I have attached the VI I'm using for your consideration.
Please advice, thank you for your time

  • Error -1073807339 Hex 0xBFFF0015 Timeout expired before operation completed

    Hi,
I am getting the Error -1073807339 Hex 0xBFFF0015 Timeout expired before operation completed message box but unlike many users that seemed to have a similar problem, it doesn't happened systematically... I am getting the message box error at random on a measurement and then it just works back fine, until the next time it happens again during a continuous measurement acquisiton.
I am working with a HP 34970A, plugged to the pc with a Agilent 82357A USB to GPIB and LabVIEW 2012 sp1. MAX is up to date, so is the I/0 Libraries of Keysight. Drivers are all installed and updated, Communication with IEEE 488 is enable in the I/0 Libraries, passport tullip also in NI VISA through MAX. I run a small VI that should make a continuous acquisition of four temperature using PT strobes plugged to the HP 34970A and graph them, also writting them on a Excel like document. The waiting time between two measurement is set at first by users. To take the measurment, I am runing an adaptated VI from the HP 34970A drivers. I think the problem comes from my VI's structures but I can't find it myself. I am also very surprised that it actually does work fine most of the time and just randomly crash in a loop...
I attached the VIs if needed.
I hope I was clear enough and that you might have an idea to help me fix this problem.
    Thank you in advance.

  • VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001D) The specified attribute is not defined or supported by the referenced resource and VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed signal recovery

I am trying to control an HP 8350B sweep oscillator. I have an Agilent PCI-GPIB card installed on my computer and have set it up to run with labview. I installed NI VISA, followed by Agilent IO libraries and activated the Tulip passport in NI MAX.
I tried turning on the "enable agilent GPIB cards for 488 programs" in Agilent IO libraries and checking the VISA test panel for WRITE and READ, but I get the timeout error: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed signal recovery
On moving to labview, when I configure the VISA Serial it gives me this error
Error -1073807331 occurred at Property Node (arg 2) in VISA Configure Serial Port (Instr).vi->8350_VISA.vi
    and the possible reason is
VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF001D) The specified attribute is not defined or supported by the referenced resource.
Subsequently on removing the VISA Serial, I get errors in Write and Read with the possible reason being

Moving to LabVIEW makes no sense if you get a timeout error in the VISA test panel and doing any sort of serial configuration makes even less sense. What query did you use with the test panel? Did you confirm it exists in the manual? Did you enable GPIB on the instrument?

  • Driver Status: (Hex 0xBFFF00A6) Primary Error: (Hex 0xBFFF00A6)

I am using a Tektronix o-scope and every time I run initalize.vi I get this error. I never had this problem with previous versions of driver. Any ideas?

    Hello,
For the problem description it seems that you have downloaded the instrument driver for this Tektronics scope. If you havent you can look for one in ni.com at the Developer Zone or just do a search at the top with the model number of the scope.
One thing you need to check is if the driver version that you have is for the version of LabVIEW that you have and also to check if you dont need to upgrade any other software and if it is compatible with the OS that you have.
Probably by reinstalling the driver it would fix the problem. You can try on a different computer and see if you have the same problem.
If you still have problems after troubleshoot a bit more, then please provide more information as the scope model numbe
r, driver version, OS, LabVIEW version, 488.2 version, etc.
    Thank you

  • Error-1074126845 ocurred at tktds1k2k Read Waveform.vi (Hex 0xBFFA2003)

I am trying to controll an socilloscope Tektronix 2024B by using a labview program. The oscilloscope is connected to the PC via USB, and the Measurements and Automation Expolorer indicates that the devices works properly (I can actually controll the oscilloscope by using Signal express, and this works perfectly, meaning that the comunication between the computer and the device is okey). The thing is that I want to use a labview program since I want to take simulatneously measurements with the oscilloscope and other devices which are alredy controlled via labview programs.
I have download the dirvers tktds1k2k from ni.com. The application tkds1k2k SWL Example.vi works properly. However the application tkds1k2k Getting Started.vi, gives me an the error Error-1074126845 ocurred at tktds1k2k Read Waveform.vi, Driver status (Hex 0xBFFA2003). Apparently the devices is correctly iniciallized, the trigger is ok but when it gets  Read Weveform.vi, an error occurs.
Do you know what is the problem or what I could do to try to find it out?
    Thank you in advance!

Go through all the links in this search and post if you still have problems.

  • "TIme Machine could not complete the backup"

My Time Machine has started giving this message. It says it needs 69 GB and only 60 GB are available -- but it is a 500GB drive. I thought it was supposed to delete old backups when it did not have space? That is what it has always done before. What do I need to do?
    Thanks
    Bob

I kept getting that error message, too. And it was with Leopard 10.5, since my Superdrive failed to mount the SL DVD that was under warranty. Apple repair facility sent me a defective disk, so that didn´t help, either.
Finally after foregoing backups for 3 months, I got the Superdrive replaced by a 3rd-party rapir facility and then installed SL. As I also had a new hard drive installed and the Apple repair facility threw away the old hard drive, I WAS REQUIRED TO USE MY 3-MONTH OLD BACKUP.
This worked, so I now have a 640GB WD drive on my 2.6GHz MBP with SL 10.6. I Formatted a Western Digital MyBook in HFS+ and the GUID or whatever, according to Apple instructions for an external backupdrive.
THis drive was working perfectly as a backup drive when connected via USB directly to my MBP.
When connected via USB to my Airport Extreme 500GB Time Capsule, it also worked fine... ONLY THE FIRST TWO DAYS!
Suddenly and for no apparent reason, I am suddenly getting the following error message when Time Machine ties to do a backup to the WD drive connected to the TC:
Time Machine could not complete the backup. The backup disk image "/Volumes/drive/baackupname.sparsebundle" could not be created (error 22).
I have tried connecting both wirelessly and via ethernet from my MBP, but neither of these mattered. I access the internet just fine, and I can see the Time Capsule disk just fine. I also see other network share. Why does Apple seem to be so difficult once you peel the shiny facade away?

  • Server Monitor Notifications - Drive Status Changed - Time Machine

I'm using an Xserve as a file server for a small workgroup . It has a Raid 1 set which is being backed up via Time Machine to an attached disk array.
Whenever Time Machine runs (every hour), I get two notifications from Server Monitor that the drive status has changed:
    *Reason(s) for notification:*
    *Drive status changed*
The timestamps on the notifications coincide with these messages in system.log
    Feb 2 11:28:05 ciesaxserve2 Server Monitor[854]: * _NSSocket.m:243 read() failed; socket=0x197060 error=(NSPOSIXErrorDomain,61)
    Feb 2 11:28:05 ciesaxserve2 Server Monitor[854]: * _NSSocket.m:243 write() failed; socket=0x197060 error=(NSPOSIXErrorDomain,61)
    Feb 2 11:28:05 ciesaxserve2 Server Monitor[854]: * _NSSocket.m:243 read() failed; socket=0x2090e90 error=(NSPOSIXErrorDomain,61)
    Feb 2 11:28:05 ciesaxserve2 Server Monitor[854]: * _NSSocket.m:243 write() failed; socket=0x2090e90 error=(NSPOSIXErrorDomain,61)
    and:
    Feb 2 11:28:55 ciesaxserve2 servermgrd[78]: servermgr_backup: TimeMachinePostBackupHook called.
    Feb 2 11:28:55 ciesaxserve2 servermgrd[78]: servermgr_backup: TimeMachinePostBackupHook done.
The notifications simply report that all is normal, and the number of available drives goes from 6, to 7, back to 6. Something to do with making the backup volume available, I presume.
I would like to disable these specific messages. I realize I can disable all messages from server monitor regarding disk statuses, but then I would be turning off messages about failures and actual problems.
Is there a config I can edit which will only alert me to actual problems? I'd like to stop getting 48 emails each day; reduce the noise and increase the signal.

I know this post is old but this has recently cropped up for me. I have been backing up with Time Machine for months without a single alert. It started happening after I replaced the failed battery on my RAID card. A coincidence...however the prolonged down time surely caused an SMC (and perhaps PRAM) reset which I assume triggered the change in behavior.
I've pinned it down to Time Machine backing up service settings, in particular the Open Directory archive. Time Machine backs up all the service data independently from the rest of the data on your server startup volume.

The ServerBackup_OpenDirectoryMaster.sparseimage contains an archive of your Open Directory database like the one you create from Server Admin. The only difference is that it appears to be unencrypted. This is a bit worrying since Snow Leopard, as far as I know, does not have an option to encrypt your Time Machine backup. This image seems to invisibly mount whenever a Time Machine backup is triggered. This can be verified by checking /private/var/log/system.log and filtering for backup

You can see at 16:00:56 Server Manager got a call from Time Machine to start the services backup and finished at 16:09:26. Open Directory would have been backed up during that process. Take a look at /private/var/log/hwmond.log
    serveradmin$ tail /private/var/log/hwmond.log
Tue Jun  4 16:08:36 BST 2013 - Number of drives change from 4 to 5.
Tue Jun  4 16:08:48 BST 2013 - Number of drives change from 5 to 4.
You'll see that both drive change warnings from Server Monitor occured just before the services backup completed. You can also use the sudo diskarbitrationd -d command along with tail /private/var/log/diskarbitrationd.log in another terminal window, trigger a Time Machine backup manually and watch this disk image mount during the backup process. Compare the mount times with the above logs to see if they all match up.
Although I have discovered the cause (which thankfully seems harmless) I have not discovered a way to stop it from generating pointless alerts. I'll post here if I figure it out. I am in the process of upgrading all of my servers to Mountain Lion so it may be a moot point. I am hopeful this information may help someone out there even though it is thoroughly out of date.

  • What does this alarm mean ....... hwStringMatch - HP Insight Management Agents Trap Alarm: Logical Drive Status Change: Slot 1, Drive: 2 ......... Status is now Predictive Failure

    Hi,
I have received this trap from the Call Manager PUB server running version 7.1.5.31900-3
hwStringMatch - cmaidad[5579]: Physical Drive Status Change: Slot 1 Port 2l Box 1 Bay 1. Status is now Predictive Failure
I have checked the drive status via CLI and all drives show OK, both physical & logical
Is there anywhere you can check what is causing this event and is it merely advising of a potential drive failure

    Hi
Modern drives have embedded monitoring. Whilst the disk hasn't failed, something internally is telling the embedded monitoring that it may soon fail - it's running a little hot, having excessive write errors, latency is drifting up... something subtle is going wrong.
It could be caused by a firmware error... but I'd take it at face value.
It might have failed by the time you read this, or it might work fine for another 20 years.
Either way - when I was a server admin I would get any disk with a predictive failure swapped out immediately. No point waiting for it to fail - even on a RAID system when a disk fails although you don't lose data you have your trousers down as a coincidental second failure would ruin your day!
    Regards
    Aaron

  • There was a problem connecting to the server "Max Time Capsule"

Disclaimer:  Previously posted here (Ask Different) and similar to this.
I'm trying to use my MBP inside and outside my office, and having it backup to my 2TB Time Capsule when on its wireless network, or defer backups when not on the Time Capsule's wireless network.
Unfortunately, if I've been on a different wireless network for a few hours worth of backup attempts, bringing the machine back onto the Time Capsule's wireless network doesn't resume backups, and Time Machine never recovers. I can select the disk as a backup drive in the Time Machine preferences, but the disk remains unavailable from the Finder, and any backup attempts yield the standard:
There was a problem connecting to the server "Max Time Capsule"
Check the server name or IP address, and then try again. If you continue to have problems, contact your system administrator.
My WiFi connection is through the same Time Capsule that hosts the backup drive, and its name and IP address have decidedly not changed. The only thing that seems to help is restarting the Time Capsule, but that is an inconvenient workaround at best.
The problem sounds similar to Backup Disk Not Available, but the answers to that question are either to restart or change the disk name or turn off the 5 GHz network (which didn't help). I also looked at /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeCapsule.plist, but found nothing that seemed relevant.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My MBP is running OS X 10.7.5, and the Time Capsule firmware is 7.6.1.

The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.
I still have internet connection, and have tried other suggestions across internet but really the only fix has been to power cycle the ATC. This unfortunately is only a temporary remedy for a day or so until it returns.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
There is no fix.. I have written a bunch of suggestions to try.

When monitoring the SQL Statements on Oracle GRID I noticed that most of the queries are being executed in the database for no longer than 5 minutes, so most of the time spent on the session is not related to the query execution but another processing that happens on on the bi server.
As a result, the BI queries are being accumulated on the queued or waiting for the parent, so users are getting dashboard hanging issues.
Is there anything missing on the setup to make sure the long-running queries (> 5 min) will be cancelled automatically by the BI Server?
    Thanks

It's okay, I just figured it out.

  • Is issueing multiple IBWAITs the best way to incorporate max time?

My application is given a max-time parameter that tells how long it should wait to recieve data from my instrument after requesting data. The max-time can be anywhere from 2 seconds to 480 seconds.
Currently I send an IBWAIT (TIMO|ERR|SRQI). If SRQI then I send IBRSP to the instrument. I don't feel comfortable changing the GPIB time-out time. Is it possible to put the IBWAIT command in a 'while' loop and compare time from when issued and when finished, and issue another IBWAIT if TIMO was returned on the first IBWAIT? Or, is there a better way to do this?
    Thank you for any help.

    Hi Scott,
I was in contact weeks ago about a pb with gpibintctrl under linux RH 8.0 with beta 2.3.
I have downloaded 2.5 as U suggested it, and install it in place of 2.3
But the pb is the same, the buffer returned by ibrd under gpibintctrl cannot be greater than 16 bytes !!!
    What is the pb?
    Example :
    : ibdev 0 9 0 13 0 0x0a
    ud0: ibwrt "*IDN?\r\n"
    [0100] ( cmpl )
    count: 7
    ud0: ibrd 16
    [0100] ( cmpl )
    count: 16
    48 45 57 4c 45 54 54 2d H E W L E T T -
    50 41 43 4b 41 52 44 2c P A C K A R D ,
    ud0: ibrd 17
    [2100] ( end cmpl )
    count: 15
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 . . . . . . . .
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 . . . . . . .

  • Status LED Flashes 5 times?

There are only nine terminal bases in the back and no terminal bases were added to the bank while the power was supplied. Is there any other reason for this error? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The status light flashing 5 times means different things for different network modules. Without knowing which network module you are using, I can not provide specific information.
It is most commonly seen with the FP-1000/1001 Serial Network modules when an I/O module is unrecognizable. This can happen in the following circumstances:
    1) A module that may have been connected previously was not available when Find Devices! was issued.
    2) The firmware of the network module may not be updated to support the I/O module. For the latest driver version of a FP-1000/1001, the link is:
    ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/fieldpoint/Update/FPupdate.zip
    3) There may be 10 bases on a bus but the system only supports up to 9.
    4) There may be a bent pin at the point where the module connect
    s to the base.
    5) The terminal bases were connected or disconnected with power applied resulting in a bus failure condition.

    Aaron
