Erro in CAF Application(Web Dynpro UI)

Hi All,
While I am creating a CAF UI using Web Dynpro I am getting the following run time error:
"It can't be determined from the exception chain, which class loader failed to load the above class. But at least the class loader of the current application does not contain a resource with name 'com/sap/tc/col/client/generic/api/IAspect'. "
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to create delegate for component sap.com.customer.CustomerComp.
can any one help me out in this regard.

Right click on your project, select Properties, in WebDynpro References -> Library references add "sap.com/cafruntimeuicouplingapilib".

Using document attribute of caf in web dynpro

Hie Experts,
could somebody give me some information how to use the document attribute of caf in my web dynpro model?
I have created some application and entity services with simple attributes and document attributes.
I imported the model into the corresponding web dynpro project and I am using them with the generated proxy classes. It's working fine, but I don't know how to use the document attribute.
If I want to attach a document to an entity service, do I have to upload the file an fill the fields of document node or is there any operation in a proxy class where I can pass an InputStream and it is handled automatically?

You make a very good point. And it is probably the way that we will go. However, my task is to evaluate Web Dynpro and Visual Composer for our needs. Especially since the graphing capabilities in Web App Designer are limited for our needs. We will, at some point, have a need to combine warehoused information in BI with real-time data in R/3. I'm anticipating that this is where Web Dynpro will be useful for us. Therefore, my questions as stated regarding Web Dynpro. I just find it strange that none of the SAP documentation elaborates on the topics that I am concerned with, even though tantalizing capability summaries are dangled throughout.

Call another WD Application (Web Dynpro for ABAP)

I made two WD applications. The applications are not related to main Component and Sub Component.
I wanna call one WD application from a main WD application as like ABAP call transaction.
It does not mean popup window or sub component...
How can I implment the techique?

Just create an external url window and supply the name of the application as . An external url window can be created by calling method CREATE_EXTERNAL_URL_WINDOW at the window manager.

Integrate Web Dynpro Application into a Guided Procedure Step

I would like to integrate my Web Dynpro Application into a GP-Step.
I DON't want a:
- Web Dynpro Component (GP Interface)
- Composite Application Web Dynpro Component
I think I have to use "Web Dnypro Application" from the callable objects list.
However, I couldn't see any input parameters.

Hi Gökhan,
in my mind you only see Input/ Output Parameters within a Web Dynpro Application when you use the GP Interface.
WHen you want to have some for parameter mapping, you must implement an Web Dynpro Application with GP connectors.
Take the following tutorial to do that.

    I have created a web dynpro component and implemented the IGPWebDynproCO interface, after that I deployed it into the J2EE engine.
    But in the step of choosing the web dynpro component as a callable object, I cannot find the one I created.

Reports and applications WEB ABAP in MSS for BP 1.41

Good Night.
I am implementing MSS with BP 1.41, ECC 604 and Portal 701. I need publish a report created in ABAP and two applications WEB Dynpro ABAP in the area of Overview of the Manager.
Ie. I want that in the area of navegation appear the Application Customer.
And the Workset Service Map appear the two applications and the report Z created.
What i should do?

In latest version of WD ABAP based appraisals, you can change the layout through configuration in spro under -->> Personnel Management -->> Personnel Development -->> Objective settings and appraisals -->> Define tab and process configuration for templates.
However, you need to activate the switches HCM_OSA_CI_1 in order to do the above configuration using the node otherwise the node will not be visible.
Please read the documentation as much as possible in service marketplace and help.sap.com. There is lot of custumization which can be achieved using WD ABAP.

Problem show web dynpro in EP, with iViews

I'm working with Sap Netweaver Developer Studio Version: 2.0.4 and with Web AS j2ee 6.30.
I have make an Email web service in Web dynpro with Netweaver Developer Studio and the deploy is good. I can show in the navigator of internet in:
"http://sap470:50100/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/WebDynpro_EmailWS/EmailWSApp"
I have make the application in the host "sap470" but my EP 60 SR1 i have in another machine(Netweaver).
In the portal i have created a system for Web Dynpro, but i don't know sure if i have put the WAS where the application web dynpro run or where run the portal.
I have put the WAS of application web dynpro where it run, but i am not sure that put in the path, i have put /webdynpro/dispatcher. I have created the iView in the EP, a page and rool, and i have assiciated the web dynpro to this iView.
In the propieties of iView, i have put:
Name of application: Name of the application web dynpro.
System: System that i have create before.
Name of Area: This option i'm not sure that put. Any idea?
Type of Web dynpro: Java
When i go to presentation get a error.
Any idea?

for SE38: Not possible. GUI applications and WebClient do not share any UI logic. Only way would be the "wrapper" of ITS you do not want.
For the query I do not know.

Web Dynpro and CAF (BOs, Application Services, returning Complex Types)

Hi All,
I am trying to develop an application using Web Dynpro and CAF for days now and did not get it running.. I need some help here.
What I am trying to do / have done is the following:
- Design a Business Object (BO) in CAF
- Implement an Application Service that has a method called getAllBOs that calls the findAll method of the BO
- call this method using AWS model or EJB model in Web Dnypro, show the result in a table.
My getAllBOs returns a set of BOs (Data Type is the Complex Type of my BO in CAF). I was able to design the Application Service so that it returns a collection of BOs (using a Wrapper Comple Type), but I was never able to call the generated Web Service successfully in Web Dynpro. The WebService worked fine when testing it in wsnavigator...
However, i never got it running.. is there anybody out there who is able to explain what to do to import a AWS model or an EJB model in Werb Dynpro and particularily how to implement the stuff so that it returns a set of BOs successfully...

Hi,
You have to return a single object from caf layer to webdynpro layer.
Since you are returning a list of BOs, create a wrapper in caf which contains the list of your BOs.
Your application service should return this wrapper.
Creating Wrapper:
1. Create a complex data type.
2. Include your BO as one of the properties in it. and set the cardinality to 0..n.
In Application service invoke your findAll() of BO and use the returned list to populate the wrapper's BO list.
Return this wrapper.

We have created a GP application (FamilyStatusChange) on NWDS 7.0.11. We are using EP. 7.0 SP11.
On deploying and running this application via NWDS

I am still working on the issue. But here are my findings. I am stuck up with Basis team to deploy the missing Jar files.
I had created a GP webdynpro application in EP7 SP6. When we moved to SP11, I copied the same application from SP6 track to SP11 track. Then I got the error upon deployment. Now the catch here is the way GP related Interfaces and classes are used in SP7 and above.
The changes can be summarized as follows:
1. You need to reference to DC caf/eu/gp/api but instead of using the Public Part
default you need to use Public Part external
2. All published Interfaces now start with the prefix IGP
3. All published Classes now start with the prefix GP
Please go through the document "Implementing a Web Dynpro Callable Object which Implements the GP Interface" on SDN.
For illegal dependency issue, if the DC has already been added then you get this error. If required, remove the used DC and add it again.
Also ensure that the DCs that you are adding as Used DC in your application are deployed on the J2EE engine.If not deploy them through SDM.
My development configuration contains the following DCs:
- caf/eu/gp/api(PP - External)
- caf/eu/gp/api/wd(PP - GPWebDynproCO)
- com.sap.exception
- com.sap.security.api.sda
- tc/logging

I am not able to create a callable object of my web Dynpro application

I have my Portal server installed with NW2004S and with other components as follows.
·WAS 7.0 SP9
·EP7.0 SP9
·CAF 7.0 SP9
·VC 7.0 SP9
But now my webdynpro application is not reflecting in web Dynpro Component(GP Interface) during the design time, when I am trying to create a callable object.
So please can you suggest what is the problem and how I will get it corrected.

I had created a complete CAF application which was working fine. Then the server got crashed and i lost everything.So then i again installed the server and upgraded it to SP7.But than i was not able to see my web dynpro application while creating callable object. So i created another instance in the server at the base level(SP4) and i was able to create callable object.
There is no problem in the webdynpro application.I have added runtime library referece to my project : sap.com/cafeugp~api and also implemented the Interface IGPWebDynproCO in my component.
So i dont know where i am going wrong while i am upgrading the server.

Problem in CAF- UI with web dynpro

I am creating a caf module . It has external service , entity and application service.
after i have designed all these three i have created the web dynpro model.
the model class has A , Q, P as suffix of the classes . Whai is the meaning odofthis A , P amd Q .?
also when i try to create an object of any of these after mapping it gives an error -
The <node> type cannot be instiantiated . What does this mean?
i need to map a UI screen to an search query function of the application service
and to call that serice on the click of button.
please help me in this regard

If the exception message indicates, that the modified class is part of the Web Dynpro Runtime (package com.sap.tc.webdynpro.*) then the running Web Dynpro Runtime is of a version that is not compatible with the Web Dynpro Designtime (Developer Studio or Component Build Server) which has been used to build + compile the application.
I think the problem is of the config settings ,

CAF DB Update for CAF Entity Service from Web Dynpro

I have created an entity service in CAF called Contacts which contains the following attributes.
phoneNo
cellNo
emailID.
Another entity service called "Person" is created. This contains the following attributes.
personId
personName
personAddr
contactsRef. (Cardinality -> 0..n , Relational Type -> Composition)
That means Contacts entity service is used within Person entity service. Now it is working fine within CAF service browser. Now the Web Dynpro DC of CAF application is used within another custom Web Dynpro DC project. I want to store data from Web Dynpro.
Within the context of component controller of Web Dynpro the structure is like

I mean only the value of personId, personName and personAddr fields which I have stored from Web Dynpro. But no value is coming within the table for Contacts entity service for composition relation.
Could anybody help me how can I solve my problem?

Hi Chandan,
Can you do person.getRelatedModelObjects() and get the contact object, to check whether it is null, also check in the CAF DB whether the data you entered is present.
I am not sure the code is actually adding the contact model object to person.
Go thru this SDN Blog on usage of the CMI API's, there is a link for CMI documentation in it which might help you get the right code for adding the contact object.

Web Dynpro Model Generation for Application Services

Hi Experts,
I'm currently experimenting with the new functionality provided by CE, but there is one thing that I can't seem to figure out. How does the new Web Dynpro model generation work with regards to CAF Application Services? I'm trying to call an application service from a web dynpro application, but it seems as if models are completely different from Netweaver 7.0. What type of model do I need to create? Do I have to expose the application services as web services?
I've tried creating an EJB model and then binding the model to the context, but I kept receiving null pointer exceptions when doing this and I'm not sure if this is the correct way to do this. Can anybody point me to some good documentation on Web Dynpro/CAF interaction in CE?

Hi JP,
You are right, the CAF models are completely different in NW CE 7.1 compared to NW 7.0.
CAF Application Services in CE 7.1 are in fact EJBs. So the EJB model importer is the way to go. You can find <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/dd45e4bc295595e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm">documentation</a> and some <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/f7f744aea471fae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm">tutorials</a> on help.sap.com. If you still have troubles after you go thru these, please post your concrete issues and I'm sure we'll be able to figure out what's been going wrong.
