Hi
Our backup routine copies our Essbase databases to a seperate application. First, it drops the target app before rebuilding it.
But in our Test environment (11.1.1.3) this step fails with the following error:
+ERROR - 1051417 - Essbase Application Existence Check Fails agaainst the Shared Services Server with Error [Local ID is required.]+
Any ideas what that is about ?

Error establishing socket to host and port: chandan:1433. Reason: Connection refused: connect
The SQL server itself is not running or TCP/IP is disabled. That can be confirmed by runing netstat and see it is listed there.
Then run telnet chandan 1433 and see it can connect

I am a new to Essbase
When I am launching the EAS web console and trying to log in, its giving me an error saying "Could not connect to Administration Server".
I looked in ESSBASE log file its showing an error 1051429 : "Essbase Product Existence Check Fails against the Shared Services Server with Error []"
This error actually started when I copied an Essbase Application from one of my computers to another computer. All I simply did is copied the application folder into "app" folder. I am not sure if migration
is possible just by copying and pasting the application folders. I am not sure if doing this messed up security with shared services. Also under c:\hyperion\essbase folder I see another text file named "SharedServices_Security_Client".

I tried to start Essbase Server many times, but only after restart Shared Services was possible to start Essbase Server with success.
     I checked the connectivity with OpenLdap (through LDAP Browser), Shared Services repository (through SQL*Plus), Shared Services and MSAD Provider and everything is OK.
     Our environment is:

I found some topics with errors alike, but without a solutions. I am with a Service Request in Oracle Support but they could not find a reason to this yet.

Does it really say "bin/bash"? It should have a slash in front of bin: "/bin/bash"
Can you login to node 2 and do:
echo $PATH
ls -l /bin/bash

Error starting essbase applications

Hello specialists!
I'm having a problem restarting the essbase applications.
When i restart the essbase i receive the following error message in the applciation log:
[Thu Jun 21 12:57:34 2012]Local/PlanApp///3348/Error(1019005)
Unable to Read [E:\Hyperion\user_projects\epmsystem2\EssbaseServer\essbaseserver1\APP\PlanApp\Plan1\Plan1.ind], Not a Recognized Format
I tried to rename plan1.ind to oldpplan1.ind just to check if the application would start without problems and it worked.
I would like to know what could have caused this problem and how can i regenerate the plan1.ind file?

You can try these steps:
1 - Stop the Essbase Server and delete the Plan1.ind file.
2 - Start the Essbase Server and log into the EAS Console
3 - Navigate to the corresponding application and right click over the database you are having problems.
4 - Select Restructure.
Most Essbase application files are renewed after a Restructure and in this case Plan1.ind will be re-created.

Frequent Invalid Credential login Error to Essbase Server

We have noticed frequently invalid credentials error with Essbase Server login via Smart View or Classic Add-In.
Some interesting facts, on invalid credential error:
1) We can login using native Essbase Security as Admin.
2) Can login into Shared services via MSAD acct.
3) Work-space login is also functional.
4) Can pull MSAD user ID and accounts from Shared services.
5) EPMCSS-00301 from shared services log.
6) Issue will only be fixed if Essbase only service is recycled.
I am pretty sure MSAD config is not the issue as other components are working upon this error and we have to recycle Essbase only service.
Any input is appreciated. There is no issue with "user Id" or "PWD"
Nothing prudent from the logs as i scrubbed.

Issue occurs in EPM 11.1.2.1.106 Version of 64 Bit Essbase Server.
Yes we can log in with Native accounts when issue occurs, just MSAD doesn't work with Essbase.
Workspace, Shared services does work (Smart View & Classic Add-in doesn't work)
We have to restart Essbase only Service for it to allow login's.
I have tried setting and using enhanced login via Essbase config.

AD groups are set via config filter but we use native groups assigning MSAD users to Native Shared services groups created.

Error 1051429. Analytical services Product Existent check Fails

Hi,
We want to externalize users from native to shared services.
Note: The Enviornment is UNIX.
Following activities were carried out from our end.
1. Configured database. (Oracle)
2. Registered with shared services.
3. Deployed to Application server. (Tomcat)
4. Ensured that administration services are up after registration.
5. Ensured shared services are working fine.
6. Backed up .sec files, config files and bak files from bin directory and deleted all users except admin user from the
mgt console.
7. We then went on to externalize the users from the Console. This did not succeed.
Error message given was:-
Error 1051429. Analytical services Product Existent check Fails
against the shared services server with error. [Unable to connect to
shares services , make sure the shared services is running and try
again.]
When we did not succeed we went to user management console and created a new user , gave it all rights and then tried externalizing that user. But that too failed.
More things done were :-
1 Changed the netdelay settings in config to 3 hours.
2 Set unix server time with shared services time in sync.
3 Re-Registered the Analytical Services as above.
4 Using management console established sync with analytic services (thru mgt console).
Nothing works. Hope someone shall provide a solution soon.

Just check whether services called 'OpenLdap' and 'Shared Service' are running or not if not then please start them and then try to externize users.

AppContainers_test fails with error during pre-test configuration checks:
"[FAIL] The machine is not properly configured for testing: the test directory "C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\" is not ACL'd to allow execute permission for "APPLICATION PACKAGE AUTHORITY\ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES"
But that kind of permission for APPLICATION PACKAGE AUTHORITY\ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES was allowed, also i tried to allow full access, but error was the same.
In the test WindowsFilteringPlatform_Tests, the same requirement "REQ - Wfp-based products must not block App Container apps operating within their declared network intentions by default" was checked successfully.
How can i pass successfully AppContainers_test?
I installed lastest versions of QFE and filters on my server, but it didn't help.

Error code30009 - Generic access check failed

I created a new user in oracle reports portal. I assigned the user to a group. I gave this group access to ne of my reprots listed in oracle reports portal (10 g). When i log in using this user, I am able to view the report link but I am not able to run the report. I am getting the error message "REP-56071: Security check failed with error message: Error code30009 - Generic access check failed". Any pointers?

Result: User equivalence check failed for user "oracle".

While installing on Solaris-10, ssh, rlogin, scp works fine.
Running runcluvfy.sh stage -post hwos -n rac-1,rac-2 -verbose returns the above error.
Result: User equivalence check failed for user "oracle".
ERROR:
User equivalence unavailable on all the nodes.
Verification cannot proceed.
/bin/ssh & /bin/scp is in use.

I am facing User equivalence check failed for user "oracle" error on my newly to be built RAC cluster.
The Oracle users have been created identically and ssh have been setup as per RAC installation manual.
Still I am facing the below problem. Please help me out

My hp 540 laptop starting failed.. It seems blank screen and curson blinking.. And there s no option... After checking startup check it shows following error message..

this is the error message...

LMS3.1 psu problem - Consistency check failed for base package

Hi all,
I tried to install the following packges for CiscoView 6.1.9:
Rtr2900.cv50.v2-0.zip
Rtr3900.cv50.v2-0.zip
but it gives me the following error:
Consistency check failed for base package NGMARShare
There are no Packages to be installed.
I uninstalled all packages and installed them again after I copied these two packages in the packages sources folder but it failed again.
Any one can help?

the new package you try to install depends on a package that you don't have
DEPENDENT PACKAGE

DtShare V1.5 (DtShare.cv50.v1-5.zip)
this can be seen from the error message you got
"Consistency check failed for base package DtShare"
my advice is to read the "Release Information" for the packages you try to install
you can find the Release Information in the same page of the download.
hope this helps,
also it's better to update all the device packages if your server have internet connectivity from CS > Software Center > device update.
