Error -2147415740 from Keychain when importing a root CA certificate

I've been given an iMac at work to use as my primary workstation, and work in an environment that uses certificate based authentication. I was provided the root CA certificate as a .pem file to import into my system, and every time I try, Keychain Access throws an error of "-2147415740".
Running "openssl x509 -inform pem -in cacert.pem -text" shows the certificate as valid, and specifically:
Subject Public Key Info:
Public Key Algorithm: rsaEncryption
RSA Public Key: (8192 bit)
Modulus (8192 bit):
I've seen a few other reports of this, and it seems to be tied to the certificate being signed with an 8192 bit key. Asking the company to change to a lower key to sign the certificate is not a possibility, as it would require redistribution across a high number of machines to work around what appears to be an OS X specific bug. Does anyone know a workaround?
Out of curiosity, I took the certificate and imported it successfully into an iBook running OS X 10.4.0. The certificate continues to work all the way up to 10.4.8, but breaks once Security Update 2006-007 or 10.4.9 is applied. The certificate is also imported just fine on an iPad running iOS 4.2.1.
For now, I have to avoid using any Apple provided tools, and many 3rd party OS X programs, negating the benefit of using OS X and an iMac.

Result 2, another person encountering the same problem and posted here on the discussion forums, unanswered, beyond me responding to see if it is the exact same situation I'm now running into.
Result 3, a posting to the OpenCA users list, also confirming the problem, with no specific solution to the error. Only a workaround of resigning the CA with a 4096bit or lower key, a workaround that as I mentioned already, cannot be done here without forcing every other user in the company to do work for what appears to only be an OS X specific problem/bug.
Please only respond again if you have an actual useful suggestion for this exact problem. These boards are to help facilitate discussion about problems leading to a solution. Neither of your generic responses has helped, and I'd appreciate it if you could avoid wasting more of my time following up on a new post notification.

Error message from web - when opening pdf files

Hi,
I receive the following error message a lot when I try to open an educational pdf file from the web. What do I need to do to 1. see, 2. print and 3. save these type of educational pdf files from the web? I am using a MacBookPro OS X.

Example: I try to import or download MIT18_06SCF11_Ses3.5sum 2.pdf onto my desktop - which seems successful. However when I try to open this file, I get the following error message.:
"Adobe Reader could not open 'MIT18_06SCF11_Ses3.5sum 2.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

Yes i tried following your list of commands and got the same error from MyMathLab by Pearson Publishing or the other link. I'm beginning to wonder if they are protected.

Odd frames added to start of audio export from LPX when imported into FCPX

Running into a weird issue exporting audio out of Logic Pro (10.0.6) for import into FCPX (10.1.1) - Logic is introducing extra frames (varies between 2 to 4 frames) at the front of exported audio, becomes detectable when imported back into FCPX.
I do a lot of work where I sync music performances on camera that are recorded in audio and MIDI, and have to deliver remixed audio with picture AND a .MID file that all sync. Workflow used to be shoot video on a C100 and another DSLR with either an audio feed or live mic patched to the camera, while Logic recorded the MIDI performance and any ambient audio via separate mics and pres. Shoot always had some kind of "slated" start marker on camera, in camera audio, and in Logic. Camera edits were edited in FCPX, exported as a Quicktime with the "slate" for a start marker, then audio and MIDI handled in Logic.
This always used to work thru to last fall, when we took a hiatus.
Upon resuming some final shooting in the last two weeks, our audio edits are always running 2-4 frames behind FCPX. It's a consistent offset for an entire export (so there's no drift, no jitter within the files - but the slate tones might be 2 frames and 17 subframes behind and the whole audio file runs behind.) Another export might be 3 frames 2 subframes behind. Always kind of random in the amount of drift - but never more than 4 frames.
Tried a test where I imported just the camera audio in Logic as an extracted audio track, then exported same audio file back to the Quicktime but left the original audio in the video - Logic's exported audio ran behind sync from the original.
Obviously, I'm paying attention to frame rates, sample rates, etc.
As a test, I exported an XML out of FCPX, imported it into Logic, performed some edits, and used the File>Export>Project to FinalCut Pro XML - so everything matched across the board. Opened the export in FCPX - audio ran behind sync again.
If it was just audio I was concerned about, I'd just line it up in FCPX and call it done - but my exported MIDI file NEEDS to be in sync with the picture AND the audio... and wasting time calculating the Logic offset error is a huge detour from getting this work done quickly.
I thought maybe there could be a plug-in issue, but it happened even in the extracted audio from the Quicktime with no plug-ins in any of the signal chains.
Any ideas?

Well… here's a clunky workaround.
It's either a problem with the exported FCPX-XML or the way Logic Pro X interprets the XML.
The simple test here was to put a clip in the FCPX timeline and export it as an AIFF and then export an XML too.
Import the XML into Logic, then import the AIFF as a new track. By default the Logic project is 120BPM. By analyzing the xml-based track and the aiff track, the xml track has an added 164 ticks to the beginning of the referenced video-audio.
Move the playhead to zero, zoom in to the timeline and drag the tick field to 164 then blade all your tracks, then click/drag the bladed tracks to zero. Voila!
It seems to only affect the first audio file. So for example, when I have 10 video clips in my FCPX timeline, only the first audio clip has the added 164 ticks.
Now on to the next challenge…
It's not enough to just de-compound your clips because L and J cuts get referenced to the VIDEO, not the audio underneath.
So… In FCPX you MUST select each clip and choose Break Apart Clip Items from the Clip Menu. Perhaps this is old news but thought I'd mention it here in case others were having problems.
Let's hope Apple steps up their xml game and realizes that when I choose export XML-Audio from the xml popup menu… I want it to send the duration of the audio, not the duration of the attached video.
Ergh! Well… as my friends say… "We're still in the stone age with all this technology."

Error message from labview when trying to set up the DAQ assistant

I recieve a message from labview when I try to set up the DAQ assistant and select a channel to use. The error I get states "An exception occured within the external code called by a Call Library Node. This might have corrupted LabView's memory. Save any work to a new location and restart labview". Labview then freezes. I have reset the DAQ device in trying to slove this but I still get the same message. How do I solve this?? thanks - mars2006

It sounds like your NI-DAQ installation may have become corrupted. I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the DAQmx 7.4 driver to correct this problem and ensure that you're up to date. This download is available here: NI-DAQ 7.4
If the problem persists you may want to uninstall and reinstall LabVIEW and then NI-DAQ in that order. The error message will usually give an indication as to which VI the error occurred in. Please let us know which VI is failing if you're unable to avoid the error with these suggestions.

'Cannot obtain error message from server' when trying to use ODBC

Hi, I'm developing some reports using Crystal XI on my local PC, using an Oracle 10i back end on a separate server. The SQL for the report is in a method in an oracle package.
When I set the datasource location, selecting 'Oracle Server' then entering the details works fine, and the report runs. However, when I try to use an ODBC connection I get the following error:
Database Connection Error: 'Cannot obtain error message from server.'
The ODBC link is set up as a System DSN, which works fine when I test it. I think I need to use ODBC as some of the reports (which I inherited) seem to fail when run on the Crystal Server, and it seeme to be the ones set up with ODBC which work.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

Does anyone else this error after iPhoto crashes when importing?

I tried searching for answers on Google, Bing, Webcrawler, and even Wolfram but there is no answer for this anywhere on the web. Just got done installing my new hard drive. I made sure to backup EVERYTHING and I even made a zip copy of my iphoto library.
On my initial first launch of iPhoto, I try to import my library and iPhoto crashes after about 3 seconds. In the error report window that comes up, it lists this as the reason why it was terminated:
'[<NSCFDictionary 0x1f0ad190> valueForUndefinedKey:]: this class is not key value coding-compliant for the key 1140.'
Does anyone know if this is a simple code fix or how to solve errors like these? Remember, this is fresh install of OS X on a new SSD hard drive. All of my Adobe apps are running great with no hassles. The only apps that are giving me trouble are iPhoto and Aperture.
Even worse is that now Aperture is stalling every time I try to export a version of a photo that I retouched. I'm thinking it probably has something to do with why iPhoto constantly crashed when importing.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

When I said, "import," I meant that I do drag my iphoto library as whole and drop it into iPhoto.
That is eactly what you NEVER do - that is importing the old library into the new one - you never do that
again it is very simple

You drag an iPhoto Library intact as a single entity to the pictures folder and launch iPhoto -- No importing involved

For the last week while using iTunes(Windows 7) i have not been able to get the names of songs from CDDB when importing CDs. Very frustrating! Can anyone help me out?

I have, a couple different pairs, unfortunately, and still no change. TBH, the headphones don't bug me nearly as bad as the fact that I can't plug my iPod into a radio or speaker with an audio cable and hear my latest purchases. Drives me crazy that I can't listen to my tunes!

Error message "file unreadable" when importing from camera

When I plug in my digital camera to iPhoto 6, certain pictures do not import and get error message listing the files "file unreadable or wrong format." If I turn camera off and then back on, it gives the message again but with DIFFERENT files.
This happens recently on my iMac (never happened before). The same camera with same images plugged into my MacBook gives no problems. Both running 10.5.4.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Error "no database selected" when importing tables from MySQL

I'm trying to import tables from MySQL to OBI repository. However, after selecting the MySQL ODBC and prompting user name and password there's an error:
[nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: HY000 code: 1046 message: [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver][mysqld-5.0.56sp1-enterprise-glp-nt]No database selected.
Seems like the database is somehow not selected althought I defined it (sakila sample database) in the ODBC connection properties and the ODBC test is successful. Anybody has experiences with MySQL + OBI?

Error Class Not Found when Importing

When trying to import the roles from SAP, the Tomcat server throws the following error:

I install the new jco version 2.1.8 by replace the old version.
- Replace sapjco.jar in /<BO DIR>/bobje/tomcat/shared/lib .
- Replace librfccm.o and libsapjcorfc.so in /<BO DIR>//bobje/enterprise120/aix_rs6000 .
then stop tomcat and redeploy the application using this script below.

Why is there an 'Error: No Data' sign when importing in Log and Transfer?

I am trying to import clips from my Panasonic HDC-SD100 camcorder into Final Cut Express 4. I am using the Log and Transfer window and am able to import most of my clips. However, every time I import there are a handful of clips that are left idle and an 'Error: No Data' sign appears next to them. They have not been imported to the Scratch Disk, and yet there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with them because they playback on the viewing screen in the Log and Transfer window. Can anyone help me to determine what is wrong?

What is the difference between "button 1" and "control 2". I am going to assume you mean the same thing when you say "button" vs. "control" but just decided to change terminology in mid-sentence
You need to write out a Truth table to describe what you need done. The way you have the description written, you are already using the word "OR" to describe the different situations. That is going to be a key part of your program.

Error receiving from socket when data truncation occurs

I am using a PreparedStatement that has a "character" column of a set length (2). It also has a constraint set up of valid entries (H, AS, AR).
When I put valid data into the field, the update works fine. If I enter invalid data of the correct length it gives me the constraint error. However if I put an entry that is too long (and of course is not valid), I get the socket error. I am using setString since there is no setChar, which seems to work fine except in this situation.
My prepared statement has 41 fields to "set". If I cut the number of
fields down to 26, I start getting the CLI0109E String data right truncation. SQLSTATE=22001 error on the field in question. If I set 27 fields on the PreparedStatement, the program never returns from the
executeUpdate();
Any sugguestions?

Validate the length before putting it in the statement.

How to stop system from freezing when importing into iTunes (version 7)?

Since I have installed iTunes 7, I have been unable to import music into iTunes; my computer freezes after about 10 seconds and the only thing I can do is restart the entire computer. It is extremely frustrating and I can't seem to find anyone who can help me with this issue...I'm affraid that I'm not extremely technical-savvy when it comes to these things, so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I've found quite a few people in these discussions with this problem and I had the same one myself.
The only thing I could do (the startup disc I have was an earlier version of iTunes - I downloaded iTunes 7 from the net) is uninstall iTunes and then reinstall using the earlier disc and don't upgrade it. Unfortunately this means if you have any music in iTunes 7 you won't be able to use it.
