Error after oracle software cloning

Hi all ,
I have a database(10.2.0.5.0) in solaris 10 , i simply take a tar backup of ORACLE_HOME and
extracted them into another server (which is solaris 10 only) and linked the binaries
after that when i connecting with sqlplus i am getting following error

You probably have some confusion between 32 and 64 bit versions of that file. Get a long listing of the file on each computer to see if they are the same. Sometimes people copy over the file to fix this, sometimes they fix it with links, sometimes it's just messed up in cloning as links become real. Sibling Link Error After Updating Software

Ok, two days ago I updated my imac software. Afterwards, the imac started running slow and freezing (which it never does). I booted through my OS X DVD and ran disk utility, repair HD. It came up with a sibling link error: can't repair drive. Not knowing what to do, I erased my HD and reinstalled Leopard. Everything ran well until I updated my software, then the same problem. At this point I erased my HD (zero out) and reinstalled Leopard with no problems. Again, I ran software update and the same problem happened, sibling link error. So this time, I erased the HD and haven't updated the software. What should I do? Should I not run software update? It appears that the problem (sibling link error) only surfaces when I update my software.

After installing Leopard off the disc (which is where you are at now), try running Disk Utility and using the +Repair Disk Permissions+ routine. Then, run Software Update and only select the 10.5.7 Update on the list of available updates. Run that one update only. After it is done, check to see of you have that same error. If you do not, run the other available updates. When it is all done, run +Repair Disk Permissions+ one more time.
Note: I always run +Repair Disk Permissions+ immediately before I have Software Update install any update.
If you still get that error after the 10.5.7 update, you can try installing Leopard from the disc again, and using the stand-alone updater for installing the 10.5.7 combo update.

Photoshop CS2 Error after Leopard Software Update

After installing the software update to fix the Keychain and blah blah blah my PS CS2 will no longer allow me to do ANYTHING. I can open it up and run it, open a file I'm working on and if I try to do anything it gives me an error message saying: "Could not complete your request because of a program error"
Any help? I really dont want to reinstall as it's an upgrade version and I'd have to reinstall CS again.

First thing I would do is boot from the Leopard Install disk and use Disk Utility to Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions.
If that doesn't work you might try deleting the PS CS2 preferences.
Note: Adobe does not require you to re-install the previous version when installing upgrade software, you only have to enter the old serial number.

Error after Oracle Migration from DMTS into LMTS

I'm sorry, I posted my question again from ABAP General into this forum ABAP Dictionary. I think that here someone can help me in order to proceed with my job in the Development and in production system.
We are using SAP R/3 4.6C, with SAP kernel 2271, Oracle 9.2.0.5 and HP-UX 11.23
I did the Oracle migration from dictionary into locally managed tablespaces on the QTS system (and before that the same migration on a separate system as a copy from production):
1. export data and index tablespace with Oracle export command (exp: for PSAPCLUD and PSAPCLUI)
2. import into file for creation of indexes
3. Drop the data and corresponding index tablesspace with brtools - brspace
4. recreate the tablespaces with sapdba or with sqlplus (using the ddl scripts created before dropping the tablespaces) - - I think is my problem
5. import the data with Oracle import command
6. import the indexes from the previously created sql file
7. check optimizer statistics, analyze and next extents
But there is one problem.
Because I have also used the sapdba and ddl sql for recreating the tablespaces, I didn't specify the SAP data class for the newly created tablespace.
And in the tables TAORA, IAORA and DDART (what is very unclear for me) 3 rows missing for the USER1, TEMP and ??? data class.
If you try to import some transport in the corresponding tablespace which data class is missing an error ocur.
I have read the Note 646681 - Reorganizing tables with BRSPACE, and I saw the part: If the <reorg_tsp> tablespace contains any of the following tables: SDBAH,SDBAD,DBAML,DBATL,MLICHECK,TGORA,IGORA,TSORA,TAORA, IAORA,SVERS,DD02L,DD09L,DDNTT,DDART,DARTT or SAPLIKEY (SAPLIKEY is only available in NetWeaver 2004s or higher), then you should move them to the tablespace <aux_tsp> by online reorganization using BRSPACE:
brspace -f tbreorg -t <table_list> -n <aux_tsp>

Do you know how I can solve the problem now after the hole migration was done?
How can I dedicate tablespace data class?
Is it enought to just enter the same rows into the TAORA, IAORA and DDART?

Apparently you are trying to mix 32-bit code and 64-bit code. You must ensure that the 32-bit or 64-bit option is used consistently on every command, compiling and linking. The form of the option can depend on the version of the C compiler you are using, and whether you are on an x86 or sparc system. Consult the Pro*C and C compiler documentation.

Oracle Software Cloning in Windows environment.

I am trying to see if there is an option for cloning the database software (not the database) on to a new windows server, just like the one we can use on Linux/AIX servers and deploy OUI to configure oracle home and other stuff..

Pl post details of OS and database versions. I do not have an y personal experience with cloning on Windows, but have you checked MOS Doc 300062.1 (How To Clone An Existing RDBMS Installation Using OUI) /

"The Selected Video could not be played" error after latest software update

After the latest software update for the Apple TV I've come across an interesting problem that's driving me crazy.
In a nutshell:
- I can rent movies and watch them.
- I can watch video podcasts.
- I can watch TV shows purchased on iTunes and streamed from my mac
- I can watch TV shows ripped by myself and streamed from my mac
- I can watch movie trailers
- I can watch YouTube videos
- I can watch a movie purchased on iTunes that has been synched to the Apple TV
- I can watch a movie ripped by myself that has been synched to the Apple TV
- I CANNOT watch a movie purchased on iTunes but it's streamed from my mac
- I CANNOT watch a movie ripped by myself that is streamed from my mac
Whenever I'm trying to watch a movie streamed from the mac I get the following error message:
"The selected video could not be played. The format was not recognized"
These are movies I could watch perfectly well before the software update, and I could perfectly watch them streamed from the mac.
Any clues as to what could be going on? Any help or hits will be greatly appreciated.

I am having similar problems. Rolling Apple TV back to 2.0 fixes it, but then I deal with the 2.0 bugs.
Basically, I've tried this three times so far: reset back to 2.0. Resync everything I can(I have about 500gb of video which is stored on a USB drive, but I selectively sync part of my library and all my music).
I have about 40gb free on the 160gb ATV. Everything plays fine - synched music, synced video, streaming video. My types of video are:
- iTunes purchased
- Ripped using handbrake to h.264 standard stuff (plays fine on my iphone and computer)
- downloaded h.264 "ipod compatible"
- converted video using iSquint
After upgrading to 2.0.2, initially everything plays fine. But the MOMENT I sync something new to the ATV, then it all falls to crap.
- itunes purchases play fine (synced and streamed
- iSquint converted videos play fine when synced, won't stream "The selected video could not be played" bs)
- Handbrake rips can play if sync'ed, won't stream
- downloaded ipod compatible will usually play and sync.
Doesn't matter if they're movies or tv shows.
*All of these played fine before the "upgrade" (some upgrade).* After the upgrade, and after the first post-upgrade sync, it falls apart.
Talking to Apple support about this results in the usual BS. Unplug your ATV. Resync your purchases, We don't support third party software yada yada.
All I know is, Apple broke something with 2.0.2. Either something to do with a USB drive access, or something to do with one of their stupid new flags in quicktime, or whatever. It needs to be fixed.
Going back, once again, to 2.0 until this is recognized and fixed by Apple.

After the patch was updated, the program has started throwing error:

The message text variable has only 219 characters. After some observations, i found that all the data is

R3trans -d produces "no connect possible" error after Oracle upgrade

I spend all day and night upgrading my rdbms from 9.2.0.7 to 10.2.0.2 on HP-UX 11.11. One of the final steps is to test that R3trans can connect to the database from <sid>adm using R3trans -d but it errors out. Please help!!!!
This is R3trans version 6.13 (release 640 - 07.01.08 - 14:25:00).

Time Machine Error after Rebooting a Cloned Image

I am using the Lion operating system and yesterday, I downloaded and installed CC Cloner as an adjunct to my regular Time Machine backups. Each of these go to separate External Drives. Once I had made the initial clone of my Mac, I tested it as suggested by rebooting into the clone to make sure it worked. It ran just fine, but Time Machine fired up and started doing a backup while it was going. I shut TM down and then shut my Mac down and rebooted back to the internal main drive.
Now I have an error message from TM which says:
"Files can’t be copied onto the backup disk because it appears to be read-only." -- It shows the last completed TM backup being the one completed previously on my main drive.
I see in Finder there is a later backup started, but it shows ".inProgress" -- This is undoubtedly the aborted backup started when I booted my clone.
When I go into Options in TM preferences, it does not show my iMac main drive.
I have ejected all external media including the drive I keep my TM backups on and then rebooted and reattached this drive and restarted TM, but the same error appears.
I'm afraid to do anything without some insight, as I don't want to screw up my backups any more than I have! Can I just delete the .inProgress backup? Should I do this from within TM?
I have looked over Pondini's various troubleshooting tips, but didn't see a scenario quite like mine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have no idea how Apple could make TM so cantankerous, & Pondini has done a suberb job at covering about everything TM wise!
I've personally given up on TM & only use CCC or Tri-Backup, because even if TM seems to be working right... when time comes to restore,,, it may very well fail miserably.

Intel Xeon Windows 64 Bit : Which Oracle software Version?

we have Windows Enterprise Server SP2 64 bit with Intel Xeon processor and would like to install the SOLMAN with Oracle.
According to the original Oracle-DVD from SAP there are only three possible choise entries:
a) AMD64
b) IA64
c) I386
But I have the feeeling it should be one choice like "x86" is not?
Which one should we apply?
The I386 can be installed indeed, but we are getting the error during the SAPINST-Installation "Oracle software not installed". I thought this entry was only for 32 bit?
The IA63 Bit can not be installed.
Only the AMD64 we could install. But the question is, whether AMD is the same to Intel Xeon?

Hi,
You have still a "32-bit" platform ONLY.
1. Intel 64 is not AMD64, they are different. AMD64 implementation is only meant for AMD processors although the family is 64T support, full implementation is NOT done.
2. Your assumption of x86 is correct. You MUST go for I386 option ONLY !!!
3. Error of "Oracle software not installed" is different and you should not relate it to hardware. It is only for the environment variables and registry.. This will happen even in normal case..
Once again, you should NOT use AMD64 and IA64.. Try only with I386 option..
BTW, firstly, whats the reason for you to choose a 64-bit o/s that are meant for 64 - bit Itanium systems... CHoose a operating system that fits and will work with SAP optimally!
You should only choose a 32 Bit Enterprise edition of operating system. Windows Server 2003 R2 well works in your case and should be your choice !!
Finally your combination should be -
1. Windows 32 Bit Enterprise Edition R2 ---> O/s
2. i386 DVD -
> SAP/ Oracle DB

Error in installing Oracle Software while adding node in RAC

Oracle Version: 11.1.0.6.0
Linux
In the RAC environment, I am in the process of adding a node to the existing rac environment.
I have succssfully installed cluster software in the new node. all gsd, ons and vip services are running perfectly for new node in the existing and new nodes.
Next step, I started installing oracle software by executing the script $ORACLE_HOME/oui/bin/addNode.sh.
Here after specifying the the new node information (public host, private host and vip details) and when I pressed next,
OUI is giving following error - "Error occured while retrieving node numbers of the existing nodes. Please check if clusterware home is properly configured".
I ran olsnodes -n, it is giving proper node number.
Can somebody help me in identifying the problem and solution.

I am hitting the same issue, my problem was when I added the new node initially it fails because of the hint8-priv1. I followed the link below to remove and cleanup the last install. olsnode show only my existing nodes NOT including the new node.
