Try turning off Genius. I am not sure it is the issue but there's no harm in trying.

From an OS9 reference, error -54 is a software lock on a file or a permissions error. (Although there is no formal list of OSX error code some of the old codes still apply to OSX .)
First, try simply restarting your computer.
Try quitting iTunes, then deleting the .xml (not .itl !) version of the library file in the iTunes folder (iTunes will generate a new one).

Getting error code 5002 in itunes

Getting error code 5002 in itunes and tried the recommendations. Makes no sense! I can enter my account in safari and on iTunes store, but not through Itunes software!

Is this the error your gettings?
If so, remove the installer, and redownload the itunes set-up installer

Error code -45054 from iTunes store when trying to purchase content

Tried everything I could think of. Had already done a fresh install of OS Mavericks and this issue recently came up. Couldn't find any threads describing a fix so any help is appreciated.

Quicktime Error Code ; -3 and iTunes will not open!!!

I have attempted to install iTunes and am recieving Error Code : -3 when it trys to install quicktime...Then when I attempt to open Itunes after the installation it tells me that 'iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing'. How can I resolved this so that iTunes 6 runs correctly, and I can use my iPod??

When I try and install Quicktime, this message appears when it gets to the stage of 'Error 1402: Could not open key HKEY/LOCALMACHINE/SOFTWARE/Apple Computer Inc./Quicktime/InstalledFiles/QuicktimeUpdater.exe. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel'. Then after pressing OK, this error message appears 'Error -1603 Fatal Error during installation. Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.'

Need help with Error code (-1202) in itunes store

ITunes Store keeps giving me error code 1202 when I try to click links. I'm using itunes 11 also itunes music page shows blank white screen. And the iTunes Match section doesn't show any pictures and looks like a website when it's on HTML format. The radio stream works and itunes is able to display the music I had stored on iCloud so I'm not sure if its connection issue or what. Does anyone have a fix for this?

iTunes store, App Store, iTunes Match and various other services have been down for the past several hours. Apple's System Status page at http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/ now shows them back up but they are STILL NOT up for me or many other users. The error codes 4000 series refer to connection errors, I've gotten several from 4001-4010 all day. We're kind of at the mercy of Apple at this point. It would be nice if they would give us some notification about their problems since we are paying for their service.

I have re-installed itunes v8 twice now but the problem still persists?

After I googled about this incident, I figured out this problem should not be seen on the newest version of iTunes but I'm still suffering from it.
Temporally, I turned off Genius Play List and now, that error code doesn't pop up but of course, I can not use Genius Play list because of it.
I *uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes*, *restored firmware*, *moved Library Extras & Genius.itdb* and *do them again and again*. Of course, *none of them worked*.

I guess you get some not allowed signs/characters in one field. Check psa for that and try to correct the values there.

How do you fix error code 54 in iTunes for windows 8?

Was trying to sync my music to my iPhone 5s and kept getting this error code 54. I wasn't understanding why it kept doing that and it was very irritating. Tried to sync my gf iphone 5 as well but kept getting the same thing. I did some research and people said it was locked files on my computer but I'm having a hard time finding these locked files and need help solving this problem. Please help me. I am running itunes on windows 8.

Read lots of replies to this. I've just tried simply clicked "Turn Off Genius" under the Store menu and it seems to have worked for me. I already had ITunes Match turned off - not sure if that makes a difference.
Not sure if this will work for everyone, but it's worth a go!
