Error creating an Appliction using JDeveloper

Hello,
I'm trying to create a new application on JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0 (running on Windows 7) but it's not working. After I click on Finish, the configuration bar shows and then the following error message is thrown "An error occurred while trying to create the Fusion Web Application (ADF)". If I try to do anything on the IDE it doesn't work. Taking a look at the messages pane, I see the following:

I read some posts about similar errors that suggested to manually set the "JDEV_USER_DIR" variable. I tried this but then JDeveloper doesn't even start (freezes at start screen).
Thanks in advance.

Looks like your installation is corrupted. Try removing (uninstall) jdev and install it again. Make sure that the folder you choose is empty befoer installing again.

  • ERROR: Running OA page using Jdeveloper.

    Hi,
    We have extened one ABCVO.xml object related one page. Now i want to run the page from jdeveloper i am getting an error saying XXABCVO.xml of type defination is not found .
    Is there any extra setup i have to do reflect the extended changes to be apper in the page when i am running page using Jdeveloper. Please help me.
    Thanks
    sreenu.

    Hi sreenu,
    Whenever you are extending a seeded VO, you need to create the substitution for the old VO by clicking on the .jpx file.
    Then import the jpx file using the jpximport command from command prompt.
    To run the page which contains the customizations, you need to add -Djbo=ProjectName in the runner option of your project settings. Then you will be able to run the page from your local Jdeveloper.

  • Error : Creating PO's using BAPI_PO_CREATE1

    Hi Friends ,
    I have created a program to create PO's using  a  load program . This program is set up to have POs created for each Company Code Vendor, Purchase Org, Plant, Buyer combination. The input fields for the load program are:
    LIFNR       Vendor Number
    EKORG       Purchasing Organization
    EKGRP       Purchasing Group
    BUKRS       Company Code
    WERKS       Plant
    EMATN       Material Number
    MENGE       PO Quantity
    The input file i have has 3 material nos. 2material nos belong to the same vendor and create 1 PO . The third material no belongs to different vendor and creates a 2nd PO .
    The problem i have is that when i run the progam it creates 2 PO's . The PO which contains 2 material Nos gives me the 2nd line with quantity 1000 instead of 1 .
    The first line and the second line in the PO should have the quantity 1 .
    The first line correctly shows the Po quantity 1  EA.
    The second one shows the PO quantity 1000 LB .
    The error in the return BAPI t_return is :
    "Order quantity violates rounding rules (See long text)"
    Please advise .
    Thank you

    Hi Prabhu ,
    The rounding value for one of the material is 1000.000 and the unit is LB in /NMM03 .
    When i try to upload this material with order quantity 1 . It creates a PO with order quantity 1000.000 and order unit LB . It gives me a warning when creating the PO that
    "Order quantity violates rounding rules (See long text)"
    Please advise .

  • Creating Asynchronous webservice using Jdeveloper

    Guys,
              I want to expose a java class as a Asynchronous web service. The issue is i cannot make it asynchronous. When i deploy it, there is no callback port.
    Have anybody used Jdeveloper to generate Asynchronous web service from java class?
    Below is my code....
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import oracle.webservices.annotations.async.AsyncWebService;

    @AsyncWebService
    public class MyTestAsyncService
      public  String sayHello()
        return "Hello World";

    Hello,
    I think, it should be work. I just tested using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.
    This is web service:
    package webservice;
    import javax.jws.WebMethod;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    @WebService(serviceName = "MyTestAsyncService")
    public class MyTestAsyncService {
        @WebMethod
        public String sayHello() {
            return "Hello World";
    I have generated using New->Web Service Client and Proxy and give WSDL URL.
    It will generate web service client with asynchrone.
    package ws.client;
    // This source file is generated by Oracle tools.

  • How to create a "pjc" using jdeveloper 10g

    Hi guys
    I am trying to make my first pjc (pluggable java component) using jdeveloper (default installation with Oracle developer 10g). I was following the [Jdeveloper 9 documentation||http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/index-087743.html] from OTN and got stuck once after creating the PJC1.java
    According to the documentation, the property inspector should allow me to change various properties for the newly created .java file and let me add new events with the events tab. In my case, once after I select the java item from UI, the property inspector doesn't show anything. No tabs for properties or events :O
    If somebody could point me towards Oracle documentation for Jdeveloper 10g, it would grateful.
    regards,
    raj

    Oracle jDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 was the last version the inclued the Forms PJC Wizards. All versions after this didn't include them. You can actually develop a PJC using any IDE, but I have found using the PJC Wizard to be extreamly helpful. Java is not my strongest skill and I don't do a lot of Java PJC development so I keep this version installed for when I need to work on PJCs.
    Craig...Thank you Craig. We are with Oracle ERP R12 from 2009 June and almost all our legacy applications were either made a part of the ERP suite, or hosted with Weblogic server 10.3.6. As leading the development team, my biggest challenge is making the custom applications migrated to 11g forms/Reports "behave" exactly like the ERP suite.
    We wanted to design a parameter screen for the reports, almost like with ERP Suite, where the parameter columns are dynamically created during runtime and the biggest challenge was to limit the MAXIMUM LENGTH for those columns, thus started our venture to find an appropriate solution. After spending almost 20 years in the field of software development, I just didn't want to copy a jar file from the web and get over with it. Instead I wanted to understand what the codes do.
    Anyway, Francois was kind enough to provide the .java with his pjc blog and I created a new pjc based on this .java code :) and my objective was satisfied. If Oracle really wants to "kill" the forms/reports, I think they just should do that, instead of removing few highly sought components with so called "Newer versions"
    Ridiculously the documentation library for JDeveloper 10.1.0 is empty, even though it is listed with Oracle documentation library.

  • Error in creating database diagram using JDeveloper

    Today I came across this weird error. I made an Identity column of type LONG and I had to create another column in same table with same data type i.e. LONG. I was surprised to see that JDeveloper did not let me create another column with type LONG. Error message was "*Invalid column Course_Parent_Id, the table already contains column Course_Id of type LONG*". Can someone guide me why this error occured and how to cater it.
    Help is appreciated in advance

    Isn't it a strange restriction?? If I need huge range for integral values in my database, it must have provision to do so. Anyways thanks for the reply. I have used NUMBER instead of LONG

    I am trying to create web services for PL/SQL package in JDeveloper. When I am trying to create this web service, the functions in the package which is returning referential cursor or record cursor are not visible. When I highlight the function and click "Why Not?", it displays the message "The following types used by the program unit do not have an XML schema mapping and/or serializer Specified: REF CURSOR". Ok so I played around with this some more. I created the same process in bpel using oracle bpel designer and here are the results.
    1. Against 10g database running a synch process data is retutned without error.
    2. Against 9i database running an asynch process data is retutned without error.
    3. Against 9i database running a synch process data is retutned with error.
    I'm definilty missing something.

  • Error Creating Work Area in JDeveloper for SCM

    In the Repository Object Navigator for 9i SCM, my userID has been granted the the following permissions to a shared work area called pdshare by the owner/build manager:
    Select
    Administrate
    Insert
    Update
    Delete
    Version
    Compile
    Update Spec.
    However, in JDeveloper 9.0.3.1 When I create a work area from this shared work area I keep getting this error:
    "BHART has insufficient privledges to Manage WorkArea".
    Does anyone have suggestions for how to resolve this so that I can access the shared work area?
    Thanks,
    -Brian

    It's actually simple if yyou use dynamic tables and field symbols.
    In the program that calls  methods / attributes in the class
    define some field symbols
    for example
    FIELD-SYMBOLS :
      <fs1>           TYPE  ANY,
      <fs2>           TYPE  STANDARD TABLE,
      <field_catalog> TYPE STANDARD TABLE,
      <dyn_table>    TYPE  STANDARD TABLE,
      <orig_table>   TYPE  STANDARD TABLE,
      <dyn_field>,
      <dyn_wa>.
    in the class define data
    DATA:
    dy_table         TYPE REF TO data,
        dy_line          TYPE REF TO data,
    etc.
    field symbols work both INSIDE and OUTSIDE classes and are extremely useful for passing / receiving data. You have to define the field symbols in your main program however.
    METHOD create_dynamic_table.
    CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
        EXPORTING
             it_fieldcatalog = it_fldcat
          IMPORTING
             ep_table = dy_table.
    ENDMETHOD.
    CALL METHOD me->create_dynamic_table
        EXPORTING
          it_fldcat = it_fldcat
        IMPORTING
          dy_table        = dy_table.
         ASSIGN dy_table->* TO <dyn_table>.
    CREATE DATA dy_line LIKE LINE OF <dyn_table>.
    ASSIGN dy_line->* TO <dyn_wa>.
    ENDMETHOD.
    Then in your program (or class)  your data is in <dyn_table>.
    Use dynamic tables and dynamic field cats as these give HUGE flexibility and you can re-use code over and over again for different structures.
    The new RTTI  gives you any table structure whatsoever so you can make the whole thing completely general.
    That's one of the advantages of Classes and OO as opposed to older FMODS.
    Cheers

  • Error creating Crystal Report using Stored Proc Universe

    Hi,
    I have created a stored procedure Universe, using the new feature available in XI R3.
    This connects to an Oracle database, executing a PL/SQL procedure returning ref cursor.
    I have created a WebI report using this Universe, which works fine and functions as expected.
    So there are no problems with either my Oracle stored proc or the Universe.
    However, I would like to create a Crystal report (2008) using the same Universe.
    I can create the report ok - using the SP Universe.
    When I attempt to refresh the data I get an error:
    Failed to retrieve data from the database.

    Hi,
    The ESB server tests its connection to the ESB console at startup. If you look at the MSG_TEXT, you will see the hostname and port of the URL the ESB server is using are both set to null. I haven't seen this before, but it looks like your installation isn't quite right.
    Does the BPEL server work or the Application Server console ?
