Error handling for work item

Dear All,
     When I trigger my workflow from SWUE,the workflow containers must be populated with agent name.But it is populated only with 'US'.Please suggest.
     On the other hand, when I trigger my workflow from ME21N,the workflow goes into error.The error statement is "Exception occurred - Error handling for work item 000000954797".What is the problem?
    Please suggest the solution for which I will be grateful.

Dear ,
I use bus2012 as BOR and event as created.
When I create purchase order from ME21N,bus2012 is not triggering.Instead FREBUS2012 gets triggered which is a subtype of bus2012.
At SWETYPV,event linkage is activated only for BUS2012 and there is no entry at SWETYPV for FREBUS2012.
Though I configured the workflow with start events:BUS2012->created,why FREBUS2012 should trigger my workflow which is not seen in SWETYPV?How to override it?Please suggest.
There is no start conditions for my workflow.Whenever purchase order is created,this workflow should trigger.
So,the parameters passed between even to workflow are
&_EVT_OBJECT& -> &BUS2012&
&_EVT_CREATOR& -> & WFINITIATOR&

Repeats for work items with temporary errors for background WI

Hi!
I have a task that generates a temporary error method in order to activate the Repeats for work items with temporary errors. It currently has 5 repeats at intervals of 2 min. After running above the WI-status is 'Error'. When Restart by SWPR runs only once and sends the message 'Work item set to error following 05 failed attempts'.
Please can tell me any way that when run again relaunch fixed repetitions.

Please show me since it is the design of the workflow. It is probable that you are inside a repetitive sequence that send several work items.

Error when starting work item

Hi
We are having SRM5.0.
Trying to create Contract. Workflow Without approval of contract(WS1400086)is activated and start conditions also no workflow activated.
Contract is created and getting message Contract created.
But when tried to release the contract it shows "Awaiting approval".
In Workflow log (SWI1)it shows error."Error when starting work item xxxx".
What could be the reason. Please let me know the solution if anyone of you come across such error.

It is maintained as General task already.
It seems the workflow task WS14000085 does not have definition.
When checked in SWDD for the above teask there are no steps defined for that workflow.
SAP says that we need to define and action for workflow WS14000085.
But what is the procedure to define the workflow.
I presume this is the standard workflow and it should be defined by default when it comes along with the SRM package.
Anyone of you know how to define the workflow and activate the same?

hi. maybe i did not make my self clear. okay, here's how this button works, you have a open dialog button, and a open dialog box, you click the file, and it loads in the data grid. now you click on the save button, and a message says file was saved, need
try / catch code, to catch this, if the file was not saved, or other errors, then a error friendly message, any code for this. read the article, but need a specific error handler for the save button, like i had for the open dialog file dialog box. any suggestions,
or links, to look at sample code. thanks.

Uncaught error handler (global error handling) not working in Chrome FP 10.1.103.22

A few days ago I very happily discovered the new global error handling available in flash-player (FP) 10.1
Now while all works well in Firefox (using Adobe's FP 10.1.102.64), nothing happens in Chrome (using Google's FP 10.1.103.22).
I can disable Google's FP using the "about:plugins" page in Chrome, restart the browser, and then everything works since the browser falls back to the other flash plugin installed, which is again Adobe's FP 10.1.102.64.
Is this a known bug?

Don't tell me the uncaught error handler only works for a debugger version....??
The documentation, which I read quite carefully, doesn't have a word on this. It suggests rather the opposite:
"When content is running in a debugger version of the runtime, such as the debugger version of Flash Player or the AIR Debug Launcher (ADL), an uncaught error dialog appears when an uncaught error happens. For those runtime versions, the error dialog appears even when a listener is registered for the uncaughtError event. To prevent the dialog from appearing in that situation, call the UncaughtErrorEvent object's preventDefault() method."

Enqueue for work item n deleted by called application

Hi All
We upgraded from 4.6C till ECC6.0 and from then we receive occasionaly messages in SM21: Enqueue for work item 000001198539 deleted by called application.
This results in problems when 2 dialog task are executes after each other. Somethimes the second taks is not executed. I find in the log the following errors:
- Temporary error in result processing of work item 000001199739
- Error when loading component: Work item 000001198388 locked
- Work item 000001198388 locked by user WF-BATCH (enqueue error)
This is the head of the WF that's locked..
We implemented all relevant OSS notes regarding the message, but still we receive those messages (notes 1040693 - 1050793 etc) We are on support package SAPKB70012.
I have checked the code in our custom WF and in some background task we use a DEQUEUE_ALL. Can this be the problem? The WF worked perfectly in 4.6C.

The entries we have solved by removing the DEQUEUE_ALL function in a method.
Still we receive somethimes errors in the workflow log

Error handling for RGB values

Hi
I am having problems doing error handling for RGB values. I have a Java applet with 3 JTextFields whose values are parsed as int variables and stored as ints. If a value is entered that is not a value between 0 and 255 is entered, the appropriate field/s should be set to an empty string.
The problem I am having is that I am using try/catch block to try to parse as an int but then it breaks out of execution completely.
I hope this makes sense and that someone can help.

this is because your code is probably inside one giant try catch block, what you need to do is have small ones in places where you do the parsing.

On the Update tab page, specify how you want the system to respond to data records with errors:
                            a.      No update, no reporting (default)
If errors occur, the system terminates the update of the entire data package. The request is not released for reporting. However, the system continues to check the records.
                            b.      Update valid records, no reporting (request red)
This option allows you to update valid data. This data is only released for reporting after the administrator checks the incorrect records that have not been updated and manually releases the request by setting the overall status on the Status tab page in the monitor (QM action).
                            c.      Update valid records, reporting possible
Valid records can be reported immediately. Automatic follow-up actions, such as adjusting the aggregates, are also carried out.

Do you want decide the recipient of the mail dynamically? am asking because if you give the USER NAME in the partner profile and when ever a IDOC fails a mail will automatically reach the user inbox automatically

UWL - direct URL needed for work items

We have NetWeaver Portal EP7 and use the UWL for work items from the ECC6 backend system. The work items appear as expected and users can process them correctly.
I now have a requirement for a direct portal URL for each work item that appears in the UWL so that it can be accessed directly instead of via the UWL. However, I'm struggling in my attempts to find or construct such a URL.
I would appreciate any help to resolve this.

3.2 to 4.1 Upgrade - Error Handling for Unavailable Database Links

I'm having a 3.2 -> 4.1 upgrade issue related to error handling for failed database links.
I have a conditional Exists button on a page that has a SQL query to linked tables. However, for the 10 minutes every day where the target of the database link is getting a cold backup, the query fails. In the old 3.2 apex I simply got an error inside the region where the button is located but otherwise the page was still visible:
"Invalid exists/not exists condition: ORA-02068: following severe error from MYDBLINK ORA-01034: ORACLE not available ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist"
However, in apex 4.1.0.00.32 I get the following unhandled error, and clicking "OK" takes me to the edit page when logged in as developer.
i.e., the page can't be run at all while the database links are failing in this one region.

Error in WEB IC FOR WORK ITEM "Choose an assignment reason"

We are getting an error in WEB IC where user is trying to resubmit the work item by giving the resubmission date, re submission reason , Status, and sub status
but when users are trying to save it they are getting an error i.e. "Choose an assignment reason" and they are not able to complete the process
I know there is config for maintaining "Define Reasons for Assignment of Work Items" in SPRO under work items, but this config is not applicable since we are not assigning work item to a new unit and/or a new collection specialist, or removing any assignment. we are just re submitting the work items
Any help on this will be highly appreciated.

Just a thought - on a couple of my previous projects we had some custom CRM Fron-end validation between Work Item Sub Status and either re-assignment reason and/or Closing result code.
Perhaps check with your Development support team to ensure no such cross-validation exists upon saving.
