Error Handling in Data - Query

Hi,
Could you please help me on the below scenario:
Consider, Source table has 500 rows and Error Output  for both
OLE DB source and Destination have been set as "Fail Component".
Kindly confirm, If dataflow task failed due to Not Null column for a row, how many rows will  get insert ? or will it failed for all rows?

It depends on how many batches got executed successfully. The last batch having failed records will get rolledback and any previous batches which got commited will be still there in the table as long as task is not inside a transaction (ie TransactionOption
Required or inside a container with trsnaction option required and its transactionoption set to supported)

  • Error handling from PCO Query

    Hi,
In my project I am integrating with a PLC through SAP PCO and OPC server.
I am currently testing error handling if something fails on any of the involved systems.
As a first test I stopped the agent instance that I use to read data from the PLC.
When I try to write through the agent instance with a PCO Quaery I get no errors.
The 'Success' attribute of the PCO Query is 1.
    The 'LastErrorMessage' attribute is empty.
The only indication is the 'Output'which contains an error message.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

              <Message>PoederMagazijn/ATS PLC/General/NewDataReady_InputTypeMessage: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect</Message>
         </Messages>
    </Rowsets>
However, the same <Message> tags are used for success messages as well. So there is no clear way to identify an error.
Is there any other way I can be sure the PCO query was able to write and catch any errors?
FYI: we are using PCO 2.3 and MII 14.0
    Thanks!

A small update. I tried again by upgrading the PCO version to 15.0 But still the same.
I did the following 2 test cases:
Unplug the UTP cable to the PLC and write data via PCO query
Disable the agent instance and write data via PCO query
In both cases the PCO Query returned the following output:
    Success: 1
    LastErrorMessage: <empty>
The only information that I get is in the results but it is not a good practice to interpret this because I don't know all the possible messages.
    Result for Case 1:

        </Messages>
    </Rowsets>
Please advice. I cannot provide any transaction integrity at this time. I would assume this to be one of the base principles of PCO.

  • Error handling in DATA MIGRATION

    hi
i am a beginner in sap abap. i am learning data migration techniques . so i wanted to know that what are the possible error in bdc and lsmw apart from error of data in flat file. And how handle those errors. if anyone can share his/her experience based on real time projects then it will be very helpful.
    thanks'
    akash

    Hi
That depends on how you load the data in the system
It can think there are two ways to upload the data:
    - Asynchronous: the data are picked up (from file) and loaded in different sessions (for example: a program read data from file and then prepare a BDC session)
    - Synchronous: the data are picked up and loaded in the same session (for example a program read data from file and load them by BAPI)
In the first solution you can't know if a record is ok or not ok you need to elaborate it by BDC session: so here yuo need to decide what to do,
The BDC session keeps the wrong transaction so you can elaborate it manually (anyway it's better to be sure the file is correct before creating a BDC session)
In the second  case you can use many soltuon because you can know if a record is ok or not after running BAPI, so (for example) you can generate a new file with the wrong record only, in order to try to elaborate it again.

  • Error when executing a query on master data

    Hi Friends,
When I execute a query fon Master Data Characteristic infoObject ( 0BPARTNER ) from BEx Analyzer I got the below error. 0BPARTNER contains 15 attributes. I am getting the below error only for this query. Rest all other queries are working good with the same BEx Analyzer.
<b>An error occured in the communication with the BW Server.
Due to this connection has to be closed.</b>
    <b>Detailed Description:
    The system is configured incorrectly.</b>
Please tell me what could be the problem? How to overcome this?
    Thanks,
    Sasi

    Hi Arun,
Before the execution of query I did that. And it was ' Query is Correct'.
    Any more ideas?
    Thanks,
    Sasi.

  • Error handling for master data with direct update

    Hi guys,
For master data with flexible update, error handling can be defined in InfoPackege, and if the load is performed via PSA there are several options - clear so far. But what about direct update...
But my specific question is: If an erroneous record (e.g invalid characters) occur in a master data load using direct update, this will set the request to red. But what does this mean in terms of what happens to the other records of the request (which are correct) are they written to the master data tables, so that they can be present once the masterdata is activated, or are nothing written to masterdata tables if a single record is erroneous???
    Many thanks,
    / Christian

    Hi Christian -
Difference between flexible upload & Direct upload is that direct upload does not have Update Rules, direct upload will have PSA as usual & you can do testing in PSA.
second part when you load master data - if error occurs all the records for that request no will be status error so activation will not have any impact on it i.e. no new records from failed load will be available.
    hope it helps
    regards

If you have a date column, converting that to a timestamp isn't going to magically add more information to the date.
Date data types hold time information (not to the fractional precision like timestamps, but up to the second) ... if you are having a problem seeing that information, it's likely because of your NLS_DATE_FORMAT setting (whatever client you are using to view the data isn't showing you all of the information, but it's still there).
So basically, this boils down to your code not "making sense" at the moment
    Cheers,

  • PC 10.0 - Error in Ad-Hoc query in Data Source

    Hi,
We are facing an error when running an Ad Hoc query in the Data Source. We have built a DS to monitor the job log table TBTCO and was running the query to check if data is getting fetched correctly. But the query does not return any data and shows the message "Table does not contain visible columns". Is this an issue with the configuration of the SAP table or is the error on the PC side?
    Thanks,
    Soumya

    Hi Naveen,
The connectors are setup and we are able to monitor other tables but not this particular table TBTCO.
We have already added the table and the required fields into the Data Source. We are getting this error when running the query after that.
Is this because of the Delivery Class L of the table TBTCO?
    Thanks,
    Soumya

  • Error -2003: a data handler needed by the movie could not be found

    Hello.
I just purchased QuickTime Pro and the MPEG-2 add-on for it, for the single purpose of transcoding some MPEG-2 recordings to H.264. However, when I try to open any of my MPEG-2 files in Quicktime, I get the message: "error -2003: a data handler needed by the movie could not be found (my-filename.mpg)"
I can play these files in a number of different free players--VLC, Mplayer, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer... but not in the player I paid $50 for.
    Can someone please help me?

That doesn't really help. Besides, I haven't even got to the point where I'm trying to export. I get this error message when I try to open the file. I can't even play back the clip.
And the MPEG-2 page clearly states: "The QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component provides QuickTime users with the ability to import and play back MPEG-2 content, including both multiplexed (a.k.a. muxed, where the audio and video tracks are interleaved together into one track) and non-multiplexed (a.k.a. elementary) streams."
Also, Streamclip crashes when I try to load my MPEG-2 clips, so that's not going to work (and even if it did, I am trying to find a simple way to take the HDTV content I've recorded off the air and get it onto my AppleTV--I want fewer steps, not more).
Looks like I'll have to waste some time calling customer service to get a refund, since there's no way to do this via the website.

  • Error running query - 'Error reading the data of InfoProvider 0TCT_VC01'

    Hi,
I have worked through all the steps to activate BI statistics in our system (Netweaver 2004s SAP_BW 700 BI_CONT 702) yet some of the queries are not working.
Specifically when I run the query 0TCT_MC01/0TCT_MC01_Q0131 I get an error that reads:
Error reading the data of InfoProvider 0TCT_VC01
There is still no data source assigned to VirtualProvider 0TCT_VC01
Any help on how to resolve this would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Did you install the underlying basic cube for the virtual cube(FM) to read the data from? That shoudl be 0TCT_C01- I guess

  • Data error handling documents

    Dear Freinds,
can any one send error handling documents for data loads.
    Regards,
    Pavan

    Pavan,
    <b>load failed .
fullload-- masterdata or transcational data-- data in PSA--- directly update from PSA by deleting request in data target.</b>
Yea you can update the data from the PSA if the data is correct.
<b>full load -- master data or transcation data-- no PSA- schedule the infopackage again.</b>
Yes when you have no data backup in BW (PSA) you need to extract data from the source system. In case of delta if the load fails you can repeat the delta load which extracts data from source system.
<b>delta load- master data or transactional data data in PSA-- directly update from PSA by deleting request in data target.</b>
<b>delta laod-- master data or transactional data- no psa- schedule the IP again.</b>
If the delta load fails you can repeat delta even if the data is present in the PSA or not
<b>also when we go for repair full request and repeat delta?</b>
You can go for repair full request only when you have data in PSA.

  • How to take control back from service error handler in osb

I am using osb to send data to multiple services at the same time.since x query is a procedural language if any single operation fails the flow goes to service error handler which calls a BPEL webservice and logs the error in a database but the control doesnt comes back to my code I have tried everything including RESUME,REPLY operations but all in vain similarly i cannot use service callout call to my business service because its not allowing to select my BPEL wsdl operation

If your statement "the control doesnt comes back to my code" means you expect that your xquery will continue in processing than your expectations are just too high. :-)
Resume action is supposed to resume the next action in the message flow. It means the action that follows the action which caused an error.

  • Error while moving Data from fs to its corresponding Structure

    Hi Gurus,
I am getting a run time error  (Operands are not Convertible) while executing the below statement:
    MOVE <fs> TO  ls_struc.
[ Over here: ls_struc is TYPE XYZ (a custom structure containg 7 fields, out of which one field is type Packed decimal, which is why I get a run time error)  AND
<fs> is a field symbol which is containing the data for all fields in the structure XYZ ]
If I change the data type of packed decimal field in the structure: 'LS_STRUC' to 'char ' type, then the above query works.
Could anyone help in resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    Gaurav Verma

    Hi Gverma09,
    Good!
you can do a bit simpler without structdescr and without handle:
    CREATE DATA e_dref TYPE (im_stru_name).
    or even
    CREATE DATA e_dref like <fs>.
Access  as you do now, eventually need second field-symbol.
    ASSIGN lv_dataref->* TO <fs2>
The ABAP RTTS Run Time Type Services CL_ABAB_xyzDESCR are especially useful if you need to know all field properties of a structure or if you want to create structures and tables dynamically. In this case, CREATE DATA has the required features.

    Clemens
