Error in Activating Community site feature

Hi,
I'd like to ask anyone if they encounter this problem. I received an error while activating a feature called community site feature.
this is strange because i was able to start this feature in my other site collection.

I've checked the quotas and locks in CA and its not locked. I also run the script provided in that post but did not work.

i get similiar error in my dev and test environment today:
You can see that i got three pieces of error below, the second piece is relatively easy to understand, i just have to activate the DeployPublishingPages feature.
But what about the first and the third piece? Turned out

9727328e-8ff7-4c2b-b257-0c017bb0b8b8 is dependent on a farm scoped feature. The farm scoped feature is not hidden, but had already been activated. The farm scoped feature is actually the custom diagnostics logging service with custom logging area and
category.
Many of my custom features depends on this custom diagnostics logging farm scoped feature, I guess this is what is meaned by "There may be one or more visible Site     Collection scoped features that auto-activate the dependent hidden
feature".
But "Hidden features cannot be     auto-activated across scopes." is really misleading, the farm scoped feature is not hidden. feature 9727328e-8ff7-4c2b-b257-0c017bb0b8b8 is hidden, but is in the same site collection scope as feature
been activated.
I fixed this by removing 9727328e-8ff7-4c2b-b257-0c017bb0b8b8's dependency on the farm scoped feature. It looks not reasonable, but seemed to be the cause, why a site collection level hidden feature cannot depend on a farm level visible feature, even if
the farm level feature had already been activated.

Community site category webpart discussion problem

We have a community site with the category webpart. We have 5 category tiles and all of these contains there own discussion boards. Everything worked fine in the beginning but then something happend. The problem that occured is that if i post a
discussion in one of these category that post shows up in all categorys. If I add a webpart in one category all categorys get the webpart. very strange!
Any idea what to do? I thought that I could try to deactive the community site feature and then re-activate it again but afraid that all discussions will be lost?

According to your post, my understanding is that posts showed up in all categorys.
I try to reproduce the issue, however, everything works well.
If we deactive and reactive the community site feature, it will remain the posts.
Please make sure you don’t define the default value of the Category column to all in the Disscussion List.
If you define the default value to all, it can add post to all categorys.
If not, please make sure the Category is correct when you create new post in the discussion board.
Please check whether the What's happening web part stores the correct data.
In addition, I recommend to create a new Community site to check whether it works well.

Folder name already exists error when activating feature

HI,
I am creating a document library and adding folders to it using elements.xml in VS 2012.
First time deployment of the item works fine, the folder is created. But further deployment or activation of feature from site features is throwing the error "Folder name already exists".
Below is the elements.xml of List Instance, which was modified to add the folders.

According to your post, my understanding is that you got “Folder name already exists error when activating feature”.
I had used the following code snippet to create a folder within a document library, it didn’t throw errors when reactive the feature.

Also, when you redeploy the project, it will give you a dialog which would promote to delete the existed list or not.
If you click the “Resove Automatically”, the visual studio would delete the existed list automatically, and create a new list.

I have created a community site collection and created few subsites with community site template.
after this, i have created a community portal template such that i can search for the popular communities in this template.

According to your post, my understanding is that you got an error when you search in the Community Portal.
Did you install the March Public Update?
In my environment, I had installed the March Public Update, and I used the search box in the Community Portal, it worked well.
You can install the March PU, then check whether it works.

Error: You have reached the limit of active temporary sites for this account.

When publishing a new site from Muse I got the following message:
Error:
Could not create Adobe Business Catalyst temporary site. You have reached the limit of active temporary sites for this account.
I have only 17 active sites, 5 of them are launched live. All the other 83 of 100 websites limit I have already deleted in Business Catalyst and their status is shown as inactive, there is no way for me to get back to managing these 83 thus it kind of suggests that they are deleted. I need to create new sites under new names quite often to demonstrate work in progress or various options of design for the same website and I don't have any intention to use any of the 83 sites anymore. With the current error I can't work and I can't find a way to completely remove all 83 inactive sites inside Business Catalyst or Creative Cloud (I tried and searched and still nothing). So it's a huge problem for me.
Now, how can I solve this issue?

Can you open up a support ticket so that a support engineer can look at this problem? Based on this short description you should not have any problems creating new temporary sites (not live sites).

I mean same datasource comming from two R/3 instances and connecting to one infosource.

there is an OSS Note (120446) related to your problem, but it seems related to a very old release (what's yours ?)
Anyway, it suggests:
"the transfer method in the transfer rules must be set to TRFC with ODS"

Why is there an error when activating custom wsp's (timer job) via SharePointUI?

We have created a Timer Job Project.
Before packaging wsp and deploying via PowerShell:-
1. If I set scope to Web and go to site features then I hit on Activate it gives error
(sayin to enable debug for error msg in web.config).
2. Similarly, if I set scope to Site, then if I go into site collection features and activate,
it give same error.
3. If scope is set to Web Application then the feature is activated by default (under
web app features), but cannot see the job under job definitions.
4. If scope is set to farm, then (under farm features) similar to above point no. 3
There is also error when deactivating features which are already activated when a package
is deployed. for example: web applicaiton feature.
Further, I cannot see the timer job under job defn unless it is scoped to SITE..
Why is this?
I donot get the issues when activating the features via PowerShell. Why is this?

When you are using web scoped or site scoped features to install the timer jobs, the account that does the scheduling must have write permissions to the configuration database of the server farm, usually, the identity of the application pool that is hosting
the SharePoint site does not have permissions on the configuration database, this is the account that is used when you activate the feature through the browser interface, this may cause the feature activated failed.
Another scenario that you met when you change the feature scope to web application, job definition cannot be seen, this may be caused by the feature receiver code, like if scope to web application, then get the web application from properties.Feature.Parent
as SPWebApplication, if you change the feature scope, then this also need to change to get the proper object.

We have a multi domain parent child AD domain infrastructure and now we upgraded our exchange from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. Since last few days, we see the below error on the mailbox server event viewer.

Our Exchange setup is in parent domain, but we keep on getting this error for various domain controllers in each child domain in the same site. We then configured one of the parent domain domain controller on Exchange. Still we are getting this error for
the configured parent domain DC.
Verified the AD replication and there is no latency or pending stuffs.
Any support to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

In addition to Ed's suggestion, I would like to clarify the following things for troubleshooting:
1. Please restart IIS at first.
2. If the issue persists, please ping your DC on your Exchange server to check if Exchange can communicate with DC.

I thought this command would work based on the 'AllowCrossSiteRpcClientAccess: True' option on the DAG. The command works well if run a CAS server in the active DB site.

Enable reporting of offensive content not working in sharepoint 2013 community site

i am trying to enable "Report to moderator option" in community site but when i checked option "Enable reporting of offensive content" in a community site settings and clicked Ok. I am getting an error "The file is not checked out.You
must first check out this document before making changes."
i am not sure why i am getting this error, the same thing works fine in other community site's i have created.
This community is a backup restore of another community site.
Is there any other way by which i can enable 'reporting of offensive content'.
Any pointer's to solve this will be helpful.

You just need to
Enable the Reporting of Offensive Content feature
Note You must be a member of the Owners group to enable this feature.
On the Community tools web part on your community home page, click
Community settings.
Select the Enable reporting of offensive content check box.
Click OK.

I created site from Community Site Template and activated publishing features.
On the Welcome Page(publishing page) there is Discussion XSLTListViewWebpart - OOB webpart. In this case from Settings menu if I click 'Edit Page' nothing happens. I have found work around: first make Check out from Page tab, then Edit.
If I remove this webpart from publishing page everything works perfect.
Has anybody faced with such issue of Sharepoint Community Sites with activated Publishing features?
I will appreciate any answers

I tried to reproduce this issue in my environment, it turns out that all works as normal.
I suggest you create a new Community site and do the test in the Internet Explorer.

"Error when activating update rule" after changing ODS key

Hi Gurus,
I have problem when transporting in productive system an existing ODS & the update rule linked. The message is : "Error when activating update rule".
This is when i move one field from the key to a simple field of the ODS.
Before transporting requests, i deleted data in the ODS by right-click on ODS --> Request tab --> select the request --> click on delete....
I don't understand because i did the same in Qual environment and everything is OK : transport request & ODS loading...

Please try to check/perform the following steps:
1- You must ensure for the update rule have mapping between infosources
   and ODS/CUBEs correct, this means that also these objects need
   to be of the same version in the source system of the transport as in
   target system.
2- Please ensure all infoobjects in the cube are active.Please
   reactivate all the objects again in source system.
3- Ensure all infoobjects are found in the communication structure.
4- Please try to collect the update rule via BW transport connection
   with the grouping option "only necessary objects" and then transport
   those objects again.
Could you please reactivate the infocube and its update rules again
and then create a new transport for this infocube and transport it
again.

I have a Sharepoint site running on Azure virtual Machine. Now i want to authenticate my sharepoint site with Azure AD users.
For this i have followed below link, but getting error after login.

I have implemented as given on reference link, but still facing error. When i access my url from browser, it will ask me through which you want to logon.
Then on selection of ACS Provider, it will redirect me to office365 login. After i submit my credentials, it will redirect me to

I want 100,000 external users to have access to my SharePoint online Site collection.
I was thinking of going the Azure AD route, where external users will have there ID's created in Azure AD cloud.
Trying to figure how I can integrate Azure AD cloud with my SharePoint Online Site collection.
Currently my site collection is tied to On-premise AD.
Is there a way to integrate the SharePoint online to use both Azure AD and On-premise AD?
