We are facing an error in system copy export of our JAVA only system in 6th phase "Archive Enterprise Portal data" .

1. We tried running the export with SIDADM user as well and followed the note 970518, but to end up with the same error.
2. We are already using the lated Installtion master.
3. Where should we check the OS logs?

First get the EP system registered in the SLD connected to the Solution Manager system.
Then via Landscape Fetch job fetch the system data in SMSY. The system should automatically get created.

Error while importing data using SAPINST system copy method

I am in process of doing system copy from production to Quality.
OS: Linux
Database: DB2
We have completed export from production. I have uninstalled quality system before importing, uninstall of quality system was succesful. Know while importing the exported data by using sapinst method, i am getting error in phase define parameter. Where it is showing error as below.

from the above error , it seems it is trying to conect to old quality database, but i don't know why it is doing so, as i have already uninstall the complete instance using sapinst. need your expert suggestion to over come this issue.

This is probably due to shutdown of the system not correctly.
you will have to re-create control file.

How to reprocess failed monitor jobs in Import ABAP phase of system copy

Hi Experts,
Can you please let me know how to reprocess the failed monitor jobs during Import ABAP phase as i am performing the import of data as part of system copy of ABAP stack.
But i have not got any errors so far as the import process is running fine but there are few jobs which are showing as failed.Hence how can i reprocess these failed jobs again.

Here you go.And i have not selected the option" Start migration monitor manually "and where as on Source system the guy has used migration monitor option in order to split the tables and ftp for transferring the export data on target system.

Safegaurd User master Data during a System Copy

Hello Gurus,
I have a 3 system landscape and we are planning to have a system copy from PRD to QTY. Can any one suggest me the available options for safegaurding my User Master Data and retain it back as it is... What is the best practice methods that can be done in this scenario.

Hello Raghu,
User master data will get copied from source system during system copy. However if you want to protect this then I would suggest an unconventional way. In case you have CUA then before system copy you need to discontinue CUA.
After this make a transport of all the roles along with user assignment. Include this transport in a transport of copies and release it with a target though please dont import it in the target system.
After system copy is done follow the following proceedure.
Delete all role assignments that the users have.
You can make a CATT tool for this.
Once user deletion is done import the role tranport with user assignments.
Now reset CUA and do SCUG activities.

E-Recruiting BSP iView errors in the Enterprise Portal.

I am trying to get my e-Recruiting BSP applications to work correctly in the Portal. But unfortunatley I consistently get this error message.
The following error text was processed in the system:

Obviously the BSP iView is configured wrong. Have closer look at the URLs:
BSP in native browser:

BSP in Portal:

Obviously the iView contains a parameter start or you defined the BSP application name as application.do/start

How to do a BO Enterprise XI 3.1 homogeneous system copy ?

we plan do move a BO Enterprise XI 3.1 system on Windows 2003 to new hardware by reinstalling the software and moving the database with backup / restore. Is this the correct procedure? Many thanks for help.

There are a couple of ways to do this:
1. Leave the old hardware with the database up and running. Install the software with a new database. After the install is complete, stop the SIA, go to the Configuration tab and click on the Specify button and select "Copy from another Data Source". This will then copy the data over to the new database.
2. Backup/Restore the database PRIOR to installing the software. During the installation, use this database for you CMS connection and be sure to uncheck the box at the bottom of the db connection screen that says something about clearing or recreating the data source.
Also, if you haven't redirected the File Repository servers to use a folder on the network, you will have to copy over the FileStore folder to the new server in order to get all of the reports, universes, etc. that were in your original install.

Error during Heterogeneous System Copy - Phase 18 Import ABAP

I´m facing an error during the Target Installation in a Heterogeneous System Copy (Migration). The system SAP is a SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 (Unicode and Abap+Java).
Source server:
Operation System: Windows 2003 Server x64
Database: SQL Server 2008 SP01
Target server:
Operation System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) X64
Database: Oracle DB 10.2g (10.2.0.4)
I already did the all procedures in export database and all that looks fine!
At this point I´m running the system copy procedure through SAPInst on target server (RHEL / Oracle) but in phase 18 - Import ABAP the sapinst stops... (by the way in procedure bar, I can see "Import Monitor jobs: running 0, waiting 1, completed 0, failed 18, total 19")

Portal Homogenous system copy

Hello Portal Gurus,
I have just made a system copy of my PRD portal to a sandbox portal using the homogenous system copy menthod. sapinst export and sapinst import.
Now we have a lot of systems connected to the portal, for eg ECC , BI for reports , APO for reports. Alsowe have trex and content management and KM connected to this portal.
When i bring up this portal , all the connections point to the old place, which means the sandbox portal now tries to connect to the ECC PRD system , since the EP PRD was originally connected to the ECC PRD system.
Does one of you have a consolidated list of things that need to be fixed on the portal after a system copy, including procedures on where these things toneed to be fixed ? for eg , how do i removed the ECC connecttion from ECC PRD and point it to ECC TRN ?

There are 2 importan things which need to be consider after doing SAP portal system copy.
1. Change all the system object points the production system.
2. Change all the jco setting which points to the production system.

actually it the scenario is some this like this i have created an WAD with email as an button up on click on the button it will execute the BI Broad Casting Functionality
He have published the template on to portal, the template is executing fine in Enterprise portal but upon button click we are perfectly invoking the broadcasting functionality but i am unable to send mail when i am click on Execute button.
The functionality is working fine from BW system .please help me out in resolving the issue.

I have a problem ad i'll appreciate so much your help. I made a SSRS Reporting project with Business Intelligence Development Studio (through the template "Business Intelligence --> Report Server Project). Once deployed to report server, the report
successfully works. I Want to publish this report in Dynamics AX 2012 Enterprise Portal, through the web part "SQL Server Reporting
à SQL Server Reporting Services Report Viewer", but when i select the .rdl file from the list, i receive the following error:

Cannot create a connection to data source 'DataSource1'.
An attempt has been made to use an unregistered data extension, 'OLEDB-MD'. To use this data extension, it must be registered in the Web.config file of this Web application.
I've Checked the config file and the specified handler is correctly set. I read in a forum that the problem may be caused by the fact that the database of the report server is set as "Native" instead of "Sharepoint Integrated". Is it
possible? just in case, there's the possibility to display a ssrs report in EP in "native mode"?

SAP XI error: 401 Unauthorized (When calling from Enterprise Portal)

Hello Friends
I am trying to access an SAP table from IVIEW of portal via XI. Using the latest and greatest version of all SAP Components. (We just installed couple of weeks back).
I keep getting the following error message when I try to access data from IVIEW of portal.
"SAP XI error: 401 Unauthorized"
What may be the reason? If some one can help me, I would really appreciate it.

Error while calculating SPS for NW 7.3 Enterprise Portal

Hello,
I have a Solution Manager 7.01 SPS 28 (ST     400     0028     SAPKITL438     SAP Solution Manager Tool)
I want to download via MOPZ the newest SPS for NW 7.3 with Enterprise Portal.
I configured the SLD on the NW 7.3 side successfully.
The NW 7.3 transmitted the data to the SMSY.
I can create the system also successfully in the "Product Systems" and "Technical Systems"
and also created successfully the "Logical Components" and can assign to a "Solution"
When I try to calculate the SPS automatically for the NW 7.3 Enterprise Portal, the following
error Messages appears.

Hello Alexander,
I was having a similar problem, but only with the abap-related NW 7.3 components.
Please check the following note: Note 1595918 - JSPM: Validation fails due to mismatch at software features
   Do a backup of your BC_SL_SWFEATURE, delete those components you don't have, according to the usage types you have installed.
   In the portal, go to NWA -> Configuration -> Infrastructure -> SLD Data Supplier Configuration and click "Send and Collect Data".
Verify that the data is refreshed in your SLD.
In the SMSY, unassign the system from all the logical systems, delete the system, delete the technical java component and run the Setup System Landscape to create the system from your SLD.
After the system is generated, assign it to your Logical Component and try again.
   Or, instead of deleting / creating the system, maybe you can just refresh it using the steps from the note Note 1468559 - SMSY: Single system update from SLD

Enterprise Portal authentication disregard data source domain

Our SAP Enterprise Portal supports multiple SAP applications. The portal has two different data sources, i.e. internal (intranet) active directory (IAD) and external (extranet) active directory (EAD). The IAD contains internal users, e.g. employees. But due to internal reasons, the EAD contains the same set of internal users as well as external users, such as bidders / vendors of SRM system. When we tried to make use of both data source, the portal throws an error (user id duplicated) because the same user ID, i.e. an internal user ID, exists in both data source. It seems that the portal does not consider the "domain" of the user account, i.e. "IAD/user1" versus "EAD/user1". Because of this awareness, we are forced to use only the EAD (which is a superset of the two directories) for both internal and external users and activities. The question is why doesn't the enterprise portal take the data source (domain) name into account when authenticating a user?

Why have you chosen to use AD as your user data source ? Is it so you can use SPNEGO authentication ?
