Error in CHECK_REQUIREMENTS phase (Open ABAP Dictionary Conversions)

Hi Gurus,
When were are trying to update SPAM/SAINT  to version 7.00/0033 from 7.00/0029
we're encountering  'Open Conversions in the ABAP Dictionary' in CHECK_REQUIREMENTS phase, refraining to proceed further.
It was due to 2 indexes in a table.
When i checked(using SE14), those two indexes were not appearing in dictionary, hence we've removed them at the ORACLE level, reset the queue and tried to update again, and got the same error .
Table PAT03 - has the following
Patch               - 'SAPKD70033'
Status              - '?'
and the table PAT02 has 2 enties of those two indexes.
with Patch - 'OPEN_TBATG'
How to proceed further, pls provide us a solution.
Regards
Prabumanoharan

Hai,
Goto SE14 - select "Indexes" and "Activate". But you should have tried this before deleting the Indexes from the Oracle level.
or try restarting the update.

    Dear all,
First of all, I'm currently busy implementing a educational enviroment for our company, we are using IDES MySAP ERP 2005 SR1 MSSQL.
At the moment we are trying to upgrade the SPAM version from version 20 to 22.
However, during the requirement checks the following error occurred :
<b>Open conversions in the data dictionary</b>
    <i>Phase CHECK_REQUIREMENTS: Explanation of Errors

    - Start the Database Utility (transaction SE14).
    - Correct the inconsistencies for the specified objects.

It seems that the indexes mentioned above are missing or doesn't exist!!!! i've tried looking for a sap note or a solution on SDN. However, haven't found a solution at all, or I'm looking at the wrong spot.
Is there a note or can somebody provide me what's in the indexes, so i can create it in our IDES system.
    Regards,
    Yam-Lang Lee

    Hi Kiran,
Thank you very much. I managed to create the first index.
However not the indexes on table SC2T327F363DFA4T. Can't find any information for the indexes for this table. Did found note 959811. There it state that de indexes were deleted. But still stuck in the check_requirements of the SPAM Update!

  • SAINT Update on phase IMPORT ABAP Dictionary objects.

    Hi All,

should be processed before starting the object import process, as
changes to DDIC structures could prevent data extraction requests from
being read after the import, thus causing them to terminate. You can
find more information about this problem in the SAP Notes 1081287,

  • Patching ST_PI, open conversions in ABAP dictionary

    Hello
during a patching of ST-21 2008 the tool stops at CHECK_REQUIREMENTS phase with the screen:

    INDEX GLPCA-Z01
Now , no index exists in dictionary and database but in the past probably it existed and was cancelled . Anyway the table GLPCA is consistent  in database and like runtime object.
I've activated it again but the problem is always the same
    any idea?
    thanks
    Nicola

    - start transaction SE14
    - use the menue to "DB Requests - Created with import"
Check if there are any outstanding conversions.

  • Error in Phase Run ABAP report

    Hi All,
We are running an installation on I5/OS for ERP 6.0 EHP5. Installation is stucked at phase Run ABAP reports where it is trying to run RSWBOINS report and giving an error SQL error -7008. Log says ddic user is not able to login in the system and RFC all fails. However system is up and running fine.
I checked number of notes 116192 but it did not help. One note says to upgrade the database library and we did the same but issue still remains. Anyone phase similar errors, Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Sunny

    Hi Sunny,
it sounds like some tables are not journaled. You may want to try to run AS4FIXFILE DBLIB(R3<sid>DATA) STRJRN(*YES).
If that does not help, I suggest to check SAP note 1387754, and to try the workaround described there, or to get the newest version of AS4FXIFILE and to try to run it again.
    Best regards,
    Dorothea Stein

  • What is use of  Conversion Routine in  Abap dictionary

    Hi,
Can any body please tell me the proper use of <b>Conversion Routine in  Abap dictionary.</b>
Please give me a practical example where it has been used.
    Thanks
    prabhudutta

    hi,
here is help for conversion routine
Conversion takes place when converting the contents of a screen field from display format to SAP-internal format and vice versa and when outputting with the ABAP statement WRITE, depending on the data type of the field.
If standard conversion is not suitable, it can be overridden by specifying a conversion routine in the underlying domain.
A conversion routine is identified by its five-place name and is stored as a group of two function modules. The function modules have a fixed naming convention. The following function modules are assigned to conversion routine xxxxx:
    CONVERSION_EXIT_xxxxx_INPUT
    CONVERSION_EXIT_xxxxx_OUTPUT
The INPUT module performs the conversion from display format to internal format. The OUTPUT module performs the conversion from internal format to display format.
If a screen field refers to a domain with a conversion routine, this conversion routine is executed automatically each time an entry is made in this screen field or when values are displayed with this screen field.

    Solution:
stop all instances (shadow instance, SCSxx)
In a High Availability server you have to modify few parameters in DEFAULT profile temporarily (replace alias-servername with real hostname):
    DEFAULT.PFL: SAPLOCALHOST = mcho35au
    DEFAULT.PFL: SAPDBHOST = mcho35au
    DEFAULT.PFL: rdisp/mshost = mcho35au
    # DEFAULT.PFL: rdisp/vbname = mcho35au_Q2B_00  (<- maby it'snot relevant)
    # DEFAULT.PFL: rdisp/enqname = mcho35au_Q2B_00  (<- maby it'snot relevant)
    # DEFAULT.PFL: rdisp/btcname = mcho35au_Q2B_00  (<- maby it'snot relevant)
    DEFAULT.PFL: rdisp/sna_gateway = mcho35au
in instance DVEBMGS00 switch profile icman = 0 to 1 (otherwise J2EE instance will not started)
    startsap DVEBMGS00
Restart EHPI Upgrade (EHPI keep the old DEFAULT.PFL settings in shared memory!)
    ./EHPI/STARTUP jce_policy_zip=90000125.zip
    Repeat phase DEPLOY_ONLINE_DEPL

  • Error in the phase IMPORT_PROPER while applying support packages

    Dear All,
    I am on ECC 6.0(ABAP+JAVA) SR2, SUSE Linux 10 SP1, DB2.
I have successfully applied the kernel patch and started applying the support packages,  i have successfully completed applying the ABAP, Basis, BW, HR and other related patches, but i am not sure why i am stuck at the import_proper phase when applying the SAP_APPL patches (SAPKH60008 and SAPKH60009 both in the same queue) and my tp log is as follows

But i dont think this can give any problem.
I have tried to import from the phase where it stopped, but all of a sudden i get disconnected from SAP and get an error message saying that NO CONNECTION TO THE DATABASE, then when i check for the processes for dw and db2 there are process already running.
I had to start SAP and only then i was able to connect to the SERVER again.
Can you please help me on this..

    Dear Balaji,
Thank you very much for the reply...
I deleted the import request in the STMS and wi ran the RDDIMPDP and RDDMNTAB reports and restart the SPAM, but this time the SPAM immediately stopped, but i am still connected to the system and the error which i got earlier (database connection error ) is now not occuring.
But otherwise also i noticed that i get the following ABAP Dump while this error is triggering
    ===================================================================
    DBIF_REPO_INTERNAL_ERROR
Internal error when accessing program "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB=============CP ".
An unspecified internal error occurred in the SAP-internal

Check the entries in the developer trace of the relevant work process
    (transaction ST11).

    "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB=============CP ".
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "DBIF_REPO_INTERNAL_ERROR" " "
    "SAPLSTPA" or " "

Based on this error i searched few notes and got the below results 309583 and 132383 but these are not for my release.
So i request you to kindly help me on this as i am running out of time in delivering my server.
Waiting for all the valuble replies

  • Error during upgrade phase JOB_RSUPGCUA_SHD

    Hi Everyone,
We are in the process of completing a combined ERP 6.0 Upgrade / Unicode Conversion.  Our starting release is ECC 5.0 (ABAP only) and we are running Oracle 10.2.0.2 on AIX 5.3.
We are receiving the following error in phase JOB_RSUPGCUA_SHD:
    1 ETQ201XEntering upgrade-phase "JOB_RSUPGCUA_SHD" ("20080812163717")

1EETQ203 Upgrade phase "JOB_RSUPGCUA_SHD" aborted with errors ("20080812163717")
We originally had some issues with the shadow system not starting in phase START_SHDI_FIRST.  The source of the problem was the value of paramter ipc/shm_psize_40 in the instance profile of the shadow system.  When we ran "sappfpar check" on the profile, the output indicated that the paramter was too small.  We backed up the profile, increased the parameter to the value "sappfpar check" recommended and then stopped the shadow system via "SAPup stopshd."  We then repeated the phase.  The shadow instance was started successfully and the upgrade proceeded with subsequent phases.
We encountered the error above several phases later.  The shadow instance is started and I am able to login with user DDIC.  As detailed in the error message above, function module SUBST_START_BATCHJOB is aborting with error code 10.  Based on what I can interpret from source code of the function module, this seems to indicate that there is a problem with the program values.  The SM21 log indicates that "Program name RSUPGCUAGEN111 is invalid."
What do we need to do to get past this error?
Thanks in advance for any assistance,
    Tommye

for our case it was that the shadow instance was not completely stsarted, some processes were down, cause the ipc pool 40 was too small, i found the error in the killed work processes.
Probleme resolved as susch. i hope it will help someone.

         Function module "POSS_UIREQ_OPT_SUBMIT" not found.
    What happened?
The function module "POSS_UIREQ_OPT_SUBMIT" is called,
but cannot be found in the library.
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLSTXC" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_FUNC', was
          not caught in
procedure "OPEN_FORM" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
The program "SAPLSTXC" contains the CALL FUNCTION statement.
The name of the function module to be called is "POSS_UIREQ_OPT_SUBMIT".
No function module exists with the name "POSS_UIREQ_OPT_SUBMIT".
All function modules are listed in the Function Library (SE37).
    Possible reasons:
    a) Wrong name specified. Pay particular attenti
        upper/lower case and underscores ("_").
        or
    b) Transport error
    c) In the case of an enqueue/dequeue module,
the lock object may not have been activated
        (ABAP/4 Dictionary).
When i tried to check function module it is not there..
Could you please help on this?

  • Delete restrict for ABAP Dictionary database table

    Hi,
I defined two database tables in ABAP dictionary, one with master data, and one with records referencing the master data.
I also defined a foreign key relationship in the second table, so that new entries in the second table are checked against the master data table.
In addition to this behaviour, I also want the Dicitionary to perform a check the other way round. In other words, if I try to delete a record in the master data table, this should not be possible if there are records in the second table referencing this record. Thats how foreign key relationships work in Oracle databases.
Is there a way to force this behaviour for ABAP Dictionary tables, too? Or is it possible to make the table maintenance view perform this check?
    Thanks for your help!
    Kind regards,
    Tobias

    Hello Tobias,
I can delete records in the master table which have dependent entries in the second table without an error or a warning.
How are you deleting the entries, via SM30?
If yes, you can use the [Event 03: Before Deleting the Display Data|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/91/ca9f14a9d111d1a5690000e82deaaa/content.htm]. In this TMG event you can check if the entry can be deleted at all!
If you're using Open SQL statements to delete the records, i don't think DB layer implicitly checks the dependency. You can always put an explicit check though
Btw, out-of-curiosity, is this a custom or standard table?
    BR,
    Suhas

    Hi Avinash,
    two comments on this:
This is not an issue, as this text is NOT an error message.
(An error message lists the "E" as second character,
but the screenshot above shows a space as second character.)
The log handling for this phase will be adapted in SUM SP13, so that non-errors are not listed at this point, to avoid this confusion.
SUM 1.0 SP12 PL 1 to PL 3 must not be used any longer, see SAP Note 2122247.
