Error in Comunication Channel

Hi All
I have a IDOC to file scenario, in the file CC I use append,FCC with the paramater fieldfixlengths. All is well the file appends until a file comes trough where the CC fails because one of the field lengths is longer than specified in the fieldfixlengths, as soon as this happen the file previos appended files disappears. Is this suppose to happen or is there a way to avoid this from happening?
Any help will be appreciated.

Yes, since the file is in append mode, this will happen.
U can do like this if possible only..
try to give the maximum expected length for all the fields and specify,
Records.fixedLengthTooShortHandling cut
or
Records.fixedLengthTooShortHandling ignore
As ur requirement.

I am triyng to connect a DB2 AS400 to PI 7.1 by JDBC Adapter, in the Comunication Channel Configuration is:
JDBC Driver -> com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver
Connection -> jdbc:as400://<Host>:<Port>/BDName
User -> XXX
Pas -> XXX
Now, in the NWA I deployed the driver jt400 Type Executable Jar File, and I created the "JDBC Custom Data Source Creation", with the same Parameters mentioned above
Well, My question is if I need to do something else?, Because in the Comunication Channel Monitoring show an error.. Exception caught during JDBC adapter processing: java.lang.NullPointerException

There are two DB JDBC Drivers are available check reply by Bhavesh.
So check connection parameter according to your driver.

More than one sender with only one comunication channel

Hi experts.
I need to know that it is possible to make a one File FTP sender comunication channel with more than one host.
If that is not possible, how could get that functionality?

It is not a bad idea to do a report to search in the two locations, make a job for polling and later the report call via http or SOAP to PI itself (if you need to do any map or you need file content conversion) or not to use in PI scenario (neither http or SOAP call) if you only need to move files. I only see the next disadventages:
1. It is not a standard solution. This could be problematic in a SP uppgrade or PI version change.
2. If one day your client thinks to migrate to the PI java-only version, you would need to do again this scenario.
3. If you haven't any scenario in PI or a good documentation system, this interface can be forgotten for you or by future PI technician.
4. You lose the powerful of the monitoring tools.

File encoding in sender file comunication channel

hello everyboy,
i have a strange situation.
2 PI 7.0 installation: develop and production. Identical. Same SP level, java vm, etc etc
I have a interface file to idoc.
File sender comunication channel are FTP and with content conversion.
They are identical!!!!!!
but....
in production i added parameter File Encoding = ISO-8859-1 because if i have presence of strange characters....it work better.
the same files...in develop installation, they work without this parameter.
why?
there are a place maybe in Config Tool or j2ee admin tool where is set this parameter?

Hi,
Make sure your both the systems are unicode so that you will not have any issues. Also please see this document for how to work with character encodings in PI. Also we dont have any special config in j2ee admin tool.

Advance selection for source file-Error in communication channel monitoring

I have developed my scenario in the same way.But due to the values <NOTHING>
in Mandatory fields Source Directory and Filename,i am facing problem in Communication Channel Monitoring as it shows an error;even though the end-to-end scenario works successfully.
Plase note that our scenario is not to exclude the particular file but to pick the files serially after a certain delay.
Kindly provide some idea about how can we remove the error from Communication Channel Monitoring.

Sudhir,
In the sender file adapter, you have an option called "Processing Sequence".
By selecting ByName or ByDate you can make files get selected sequentially either ByName ( alphabetically ) or by the creation time stamp of the file.
In the sender file adapter also make the QOS as EOIO and give the QueueName as any value and the files will be processed sequentially.

File to Proxy Scenario : Error in communication channel monitoring

Hi,
I have developed File to Proxy Scenario on PI 7.1 system and it is not working. I see the below error in communication channel monitoring.
u201CError: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.ConfigException: Some of the IS access information is not available. SLDAccess property may be set to true, but SLD is not available.u201D
File will be picked from the FTP server.
I have created File system in SLD of type "Third Party", Can this be the issue?
Please guide me on this.

LMS 3.2 Internal Error in Communication Channel

Hello,
I am having an issue with the DCR in which I get the error "Internal Error in Communication Channel" after trying to edit the credentials of a device.
It started when I tried to add a device to the DCR, with all credentials, and it wouldn't show up in the DCR. I tried this 3x, but no luck. I was eventually able to do so by using the Bulk Import, and having the single device (with all the credentials) in the .csv file.
Now that the device is in the DCR, I need to edit the User Defined Fields - but when I try to, I get the error mentioned above.
I've seen other threads here that talk about multi-server setups, and FQDNs, but I'm not using any of that. I've also noticed that there is a bug ID for it, CSCtd07131, but it says 'release-pending'.
Am I up the creek until an update comes out? (its not just user defined fields, btw, I'm unable to modify any credentials.)

When you restart the ciscoworks processes you should always give a couple of minutes and log on when the cpu starts to come down.
If it continues to error when you add or modify you better open a case with the tac.
The bug you mention is only if you have multiple systems with a master and slave DCR

I am getting an error "Intrenal error in communication channel" while editing or adding/deleting snmp credentials
in common services...(LMS-3.x);
We tried restarting the ciscoworks services, but still getting the same problem.

Yes, Re-installed should take care of the issue..

DCR - error in communication channel

Hello,
We use LMS 3.1 with the available patches installed.
I wanted to configure some device credentials and identities.
After clicking "Apply" the following error was displayed:
"Internal error in communication channel."
I attached the dcr.log for further information.

I am having on-access virus scanning enabled and do not want to disable the scanning on the NMSROOT directory.
Can you tell me the name of this process that causes this conflict?
Then I could disable the virus scanner for this process!!

I am sending the Idoc from ECC250 to ECC150 using XI, whenever I am sending the Idoc, I got this error Error in back routing Error in communication channel in SXMB_MONI.
In IDX2 also I got this error I:000.
Please suggest me how to resolve this issue.

I understand that the idoc has been received from ECC250 ,Are able to see the payload (i.e idoc )
in SXMB_MONI ?
IS configuration steps like

Error in communication channel javaxresourse.Resourseexception

We are getting an error in communication channel javax.resourse.Resourseexception. We are send a payload witn size in excess of 10mb. I also have a message which is in delivering status for quite some time now after which our communication channel stopped working and startwd to give tthis error. Could it because of this message ? Or i need to increase size parameter . In which tcode or place wherei can see the permited file size. I am new to pi and and seeing this error for tje firat time . Request your help

Go to SXMB_ADM and click integration engine configuration -> click edit mode configuration -> see the tuning parameter EO_MSG_SIZE_LIMIT set and value of it. If it not set, talk to basis to set the this tuning parmeter and value desired.

Error in JMS channel

Hi ALL,
I am getting the below error in Communication channel monitoring short log of JMS channel.
"Cannot connect because class 'com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueueConnectionFactory' is missing; ensure that JMS provider library 'aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda' contains all required resources"
This error looks like the deployed .sda file dint contain the class specified.Can u let me know where i can find the aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda file with all required classes in it .
We are on SAP XI 7.0 SP 14 and the MQ version is 7.0.
Kindly let me know if any one had faced the same error.

How to use two "field separator" in the same Comunication Channel

Hi experts,
I upload flat files with XI, and my Comunication Channel is configured to use the field separator "~".
FILA.fieldSeparator ~
Is posible to configure that Comunication Channel to accept two field separator. I want that upload flat files that has as separator "~" and flat files that has "|" .

IT IS not possible to have 2 fieldseparator to identify the fields of a record.

Can you please try tracing the FaultEvent.fault.rootCause
object and see if there is any error message. Usually exceptions
thrown from the server is available in this rootCause object.
