Error in executing root.sh - due to network failure

Hi,
My Grid Installation were almost complete. I am already executing root.sh for the first node but unfortunately the network seems to get hang based on the error I encountered while tailing the +/app/oraInventory/logs/installActions2010-07-31_09-38-00AM.log+ from node1
Below is the part that encountered error.

i tried to restart or even reload the service network but connections failed and the only way to fix this is to restart both nodes. no problem with private connection because they can ping each other. I know the only last part in installation is running the root.sh script. And I know I am almost done.
Note: I am trying to create virtual RAC servers using Virtualbox.
Can someone help to fix the problem with running root.sh scripts?
I tried to research related to my issue but it seems I did not find similar situation, I saw something about deconfigure root.sh but I am still reviewing it. Any help really appreciated.

Thanks Belman for reply.
I already tried the deconfigure of root.sh script, then after successful deconfiguration for both nodes, I tried to run the root.sh again, but the last part which updating the oraInventory failed, I am almost there.... (quite frustrated) :) but still smiling, this is the last part ... still have issues :)

  • Portal failed to access remote resource due to network failures

    Hi,
We have a portlet that allows users to upload files to a SQL Server database and make it available for other users to access. The portlet code is on our remote servers. Everything works fine in dev environment, but certain files fail in pre-prod and prod within the portal, but work fine when the code is executed outside the portal.
    I keep getting this error:
Error - Portal failed to access remote resource due to network failures. Try again later or contact your portal administrator.
    What could the problem be?
    Thank you for your help.
    Rad

If the Studio service looks good on the remote server where Studio is installed (check that
the service is started and look in the Studio logs for any warnings or errors), you should
also verify the configuration settings in the Studio remote server object. Is it properly
configured and pointing to the correct remote server?
If so, check the portal servers access to the Studio server via the port specified in the remote
server (default is 11935). You can test this by doing a telnet test on the portal server. In a cmd
prompt (Windows) or on the CLI (Unix), type 'telnet [studioserver] 11935', where "<servername> is
the name of your Studio remote server. The screen should just go blank, meaning that there is
something accepting connections on that port on the given server. (We would hope it's the Studio
app and not another service occupying that port.) If you get "Could not open connection to the host"
or some such similar result, check that the network between the portal and the Studio remote server
is open (ie, make sure there isn't any port blocking or a firewall in place that would hinder the
    communication between the two servers).

  • EBS 11i - Concurrent Manager goes down due to network failure.

    Hi,
We have a Single Node Oracle EBS 11i (11.5.10) [upgraded from 11.0.3] Production Instance on a Windows 2003 (32-Bit) server.
We have UPS support for the Server but the Netwok Switch is not on UPS. Due to this whenever there is a power trip the network goes down and due to this the Concurrent Manager (only)goes down. All other Apps Tier and DB Tier services are up inlcluding the 806 Listener (APPS_SID).
Is this how it is designed to work? Is there anyway to ensure that the Conc. Manager does not go down due to network failure.

Can I just retry the root.sh on the 2nd node?  or, do I have to do some sort of cleanup and then retry?  Please advise....  Thanks, Adolfo

Are you using raw disk devices for Oracle 11g RAC? You might want to move to ASM. For starters, your version, 11.1 is no longer fully supported by Oracle Corp. You'll need to be on 11.2.0.3 or higher to be supported. The 11.2.0.3 version loses Extended Support in August I think. The 11.2.0.4 version loses Extended Support in January. All of this means your production Oracle RAC database should be on the 12c version by January. And guess what? Oracle 12c RAC does not support raw disk devices.
Since you're starting with this cluster fresh, why not aim for a configuration that will allow you to go forth into the foreseeable future without major configuration changes?
    Cheers,
    Brian

    Hi Anand
Can you please control the following points please?
That on node1 in the /etc/hosts file the name of the private interconnect exist. But on node2 or the failing node it's missing the private interconnect in the /etc/hosts file. That should be the reason why the issue occurs.
Solution of The Problem might be to :
    1. Add the missing hostnames to /etc/hosts
    2. Stop and start CRS stack
Please confirm that this solves your issue.

  • Sign in has failed. Network failure.

    Hi All,
We are half way through updating an iPad issue and after rebooting because the upload was hanging in the Folio Builder we cannot log in due to network failure. Cannot sign into https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com either under any log in.
http://status.adobedps.com/ is saying everything is fine, is anyone else having the same problem? Was working, if not a little slow, this morning but now we cannot access anything. Our internet connection seems fine and can access everything else.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • The Game Center is "unable to load data due to network connectivity issues or errors".

The Game Center is "unable to load data due to network connectivity issues or errors".
My internet is fine: all other apps that do not rely on the Game Center work, as does my browser and other online functions; additionally, a friend's iPhone connects to his Game Center perfectly while he is sitting next to me.
Closing the Game Center app and then reopening it is ineffective. Opening the options for the Game Center in the settings, logging out of my Apple ID, then logging back in, and then reopening the Game Center is ineffective. Opening the options for the Game Center in the settings, logging out of my Apple ID, then reopening the Game Center app and logging back in from there is ineffective.
This issue has gone on for more than a month, and so the phone has gone through all variations of "turn it off then back on again, refresh the system, etc etc" that are the basic first suggestions for trouble shooting.
One game app, which required a Game Center profile to launch, stopped working entirely, and would return a message saying something like "connect to the Game Center". I eventually deleted it to free up space. Other games which can be linked to the Game Center to connect with friends simply fail to link, returning "Game Center unavailable". This is the aspect that is currently bothering me the most: I cannot play games with friends unless the app can also link to Facebook and connect to friends from there.
When I open the Game Center, I see the following screen. The bubbles float gently, and it seems as if I had the ability to update my "status". However doing so results in a message that has vanished once the app is reopened.
Upon tapping Games, either the bubble from the main screen or the option on the ribbon at the bottom, the following screen appears. Clicking on Challenges shows a message that achievements must be viewed to issue a challenge. Clicking achievements results in a message that games must be connected (and from my friend's phone I know I have several apps that should appear).
Upon tapping friends, it does show me a list of suggested friends pulled from Facebook, but attempting to send a friend request results in the following screen. After accepting the error box, the "send" button for the request is grayed out and unavailable regardless of adding or deleting friends and/or an accompanying message.
In short, the Game Center is completely unresponsive for no discernible reason, and this problem began with no warning and is now long term. Though my iPhone is older (a 4s), my friend's is even older (a regular 4) and works fine.

I am having the very same problem on my iPad running ios 7. All is fine on my iPhone it opens no problem - this is running on ios 8. I wish they would fix it.

  • How do i reinstall pages, after it failed to install due to network error ?

i then tried to go back to the app store to try a re install and the crummy thing is telling me it is installed
i have tried to get a solution by contacting Apple support, and that is useless , have searched to find a resolution but
i haven't found a sound thread to my problem ...

  • NLB Error: NLB detected duplicate cluster subnets. This may be due to network partitioning

We're running two servers in a datacentre, call them WEB1 and WEB2 in unicast NLB mode.
Each server has a public NIC, the NLB adapter and a private NIC for communication between hosts. We have a VLAN between the public NICs so the cluster IP is routed to both hosts. I can access the Virtual IP just fine, and hosts can talk on the separate private
network. The public NICs are connected up to a Cisco switch with a VLAN between two ports, one for WEB1 and one for WEB2 (all done by the datacentre).
Intermittently on WEB2, I lose connection from my local machine and the Event Logs show multiple:
NLB cluster []: NLB detected duplicate cluster subnets. This may
be due to network partitioning, which prevents NLB heartbeats of one or more
hosts from reaching the other cluster hosts. Although NLB operations have
resumed properly, please investigate the cause of the network partitioning.
WEB1 works just fine and doesn't suffer from these issues. Removing WEB2 from the NLB cluster leaves everything working fine (with just the single WEB1 left).
Perhaps unrelated but for WEB1 & WEB2, the interface metric for the private NIC is 10 while the public NIC is 20 (although 'route print' shows much higher values around 270-300). [seems this is correct according to http://blogs.technet.com/b/tristank/archive/2004/06/08/150734.aspx]
Really hoping someone can help as NLB seems a great solution!
    Thanks ever so much

Hi, no luck with this I'm afraid. Both NICs are configured the same, not sure what you mean by the NIC binding order. Cabling is definitely fine.
We're just sticking it out. As this is running on a live set up I had to get things working so put the NLB cluster into Single Host mode with WEB1 as the default host. This meant traffic worked fine while I still had frequent disconnections to WEB2.
After about 24 hours, the error stopped. When anything changes the cluster, ie one of the servers is restarted for updates, it does this error for about 24 hours then settles down.
I have no idea if the Single Host mode is helping this or not - perhaps it just takes 24 hours for it to settle down. Would it also settle down if I wasn't in Single Host mode? No idea and won't try it as its a live set up. Is NLB working properly? Most
probably not! However if WEB1 dies, WEB2 does take over connections all itself and works fine till WEB1 comes back online (requests go back to WEB1) and WEB2 starts to disconnect for the roughly 24 hours.
Anyone from the Microsoft Networking team able to shed any light on this? Please?

  • Photo upload to iCloud fails with the error message 'Upload failed due to network error'. Ideas?

I am trying to get my photos on my Mac Mini onto my iPad 2 via iCloud. I have tracked the problem down to upload failure from Mini to iCloud. 1St (&every) photo upload fails with the message 'Upload failed due to network error'. Any ideas?

I doubt this issue is related to the Mac Mini specifically.
I have 44 photos shot with an iPhone 3G that will not upload to iCloud Photo Library. I try and drag-and-drop them onto the web interface and I get the same error message you did:
    Upload Failed
44 items were not uploaded due to a network error.
However, I have another 62 photos shot with the same iPhone 3G that upload without issue. And I just uploaded 440 photos from an iPhone 4 without issue.
I thought it may have something to do with certain EXIF tags missing on the photos that would not upload but I have not been able to figure out a pattern when comparing photos that work and photos that don't work.
The photos that won't upload open fine in QuickLook, Preview, and Pixelmator so I doubt the image is corrupted in some way.
I can AirDrop the photo to my iOS device and it will upload to iCloud Photo Library, the photo/video count will be incremented on the iOS device and iCloud Photo Library but the photo will never be displayed in iCloud Photo Library. When I delete the photo on the iOS device the photo/video count will decrement on the iOS device but will remain the same in iCloud Photo Library. When this occurred the following error was thrown in the iCloud Photo Library web interface:

  • "Publish Error: Publish failed due to network error. Check your internet co

I am using the very latest version of iWeb. I have had it for a week.
First let me tell you the message that I got and then what I was doing prior to getting the message:
It said: "Publish Error. Publish failed due to a network error. Check your internet connections and try again."
I did check my internet connections and I called mt cable modem ISP. He put me through some tests and ascertained that the problem was not with the cable connection. I can connect to the web (of course) and I can send and receive email. The fellow at the ISP (Road Runner) told me that the uploading goes just fine but that the confirmation end of it is bad.
I have made 9 pages for my website. I clicked the button to publish the 10th page and got the message at the top of this post.
Then I called Apple Care and took advantage of the 90-day help warranty. The gal there had me try to publish to my private folder. That worked! I was able to publish to the folder and that message at the top of this post did not appear. It said that the page was published and did I want to visit it.
I ended up deleting the page about my friend Lerma, since everything was going fine until I did that page. AS I recall, there was a mixup with the pages and I thought I had fixed it.
Then I worked a little more on my husband's Memorial Site and tried to publish and got the same bad message as above, meaning that it wasn't just the page about Lerma but any page I might be doing since doing her page.
NOW THIS IS THE ODD PART:
I went to the website on Safari browser with the intention of checking out the other earlier pages, only to discover (happily) that my husband's memorial page (the beginning of it) WAS THERE even though I got that message saying that there had been a network error. Lerma's page, however, was NOT there.
I am between happy knowing that a page can show up on the website even though I get a message saying that it did not, but anxious knowing that if I am getting Publish Error messages, something is screwy with the program.
I will continue to try to publish to the Internet, but meanwhile I welcome any observations and happy accounts of how they got the same message but everything ended up fine after a while.
Meanwhile I am going to be working on my pages even though right now I am getting those messages saying that they could not publish due to network error.
    I need a break.
    — Lorna in Southern California

    Hi Lorna!
Sorry to hear that you're getting the dreaded
"Publish Error" message from iWeb. Lots of people
have reported getting this type of error...and I
don't think it ever really has much to do with the
network...at least nothing that can be fixed. The
fact that you have been publishing just fine up until
now is a good thing. Some people have NEVER been
able to publish to the web. Hopefully this problem
will clear itself up. Maybe it's just sunspots or
something. Probably someone thinks you need a break,
    too.
Is this the kind of thing that would warrant me going back to the Apple Store to get an exchange???

  • Get Publish failed due to network error on Publish

Everytime I make a change to my web site within iWeb then do a Publish I get a message "Publish failed due to network error. Check your internet connection and try again".
Although I get the above message my changes do get made on my web site.
I am on high speed internet. I have received this message every time I do a Publish after making changes for the last several days.
http://web.mac.com/johnnelsonhomes is web site address. Again, changes are getting posted most times, although not always.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

I have been having the same problem. I can access my iDisk, but cannot publish to it. When I try i get a 'cannot publish due to network error' message. I can successfully upload the same website to my 'GoDaddy' hosting acct. This is what I have done so far without success:
Turned off all commenting and searches and .mac specific services.
Tried connecting directly to my DSL modem to try to eliminate any problem that may be introduced by my router or firewall settings.
Reformatted my hard drive and re-installed OSX (clean). Patched the new system with all available updates. I did not restore from my back-ups to ensure that any corrupted settings would not be brought forward to the new install. I then created a simple one page site with iweb and attempted to publish to .mac. Even this failed. I am not sure what I could be missing. I had been publishing for months without any problem. Then I started getting this problem occasionally, and now I get it all the time. The only thing I can think of is if there is possibly a network latency problem causing the connection to time out.

    Hi:
the problem was not resolved deleting/uploading the components, the problem was resolved increasing the memory in the host and tuning the JVM memory parameters.
In our host the memory was reduced and this was the origin of the problem
