Error in Previous Employeer Iview in ESS

Hi All,
I am facing this error when i am modifying the View for maintaining previous employeer data.
I changed the Use case type B3 to B4. in the infotype 0023.
I changed this details in the Table T7XSSPERSUBTYPE.
so after changing the data i am getting the following error:
The ASSERT condition was violated., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
so any inputs will be highly appreciated.

Error in the Address iview of ESS

Hello all
I am having problem with the address iview of ESS. The telephone no field is not being displayed in the edit mode of the iview i.e only the area code is being diaplyed and the rest of the no and the label is not there. From the previous thread I learnt that it might be because of some IMG customization but dont know how to solve it.

"SAP_PAYSLIP_US does not exist" error in Salary statement iView of ESS

Hi all,
We have SAP EP7.0 (NW 2004s) with the ESS business package for MySAPERP 2005.Most of our iViews of the business package are working fine,but some are givig problems.
When we try to launch the Salary Statement iView under BEnefits and Payments Workset we get the "SAP_PAYSLIP_US does not exist" error.
The form name SAP_PAYSLIP_US is active and also we have specified the form name in the SPRO settings.
If we change the form name (for e.g.UF01) then the error displayed is "UF01 does not exist".
Can anyone point out as to what the problem is.
Is there any settings we are missing?

Hi To all!
The Form SAP_TIMESLIP doesn't exist. The correct form to use in the feature HRFOR is SAP_TIM_99_0001 or SAP_TIM_99_0002.
Activate the form in transaction HRFORMS.
SAP didn't release the form SAP_TIMESLIP.

Standard Leave iView of ESS does not work... What to do?

Hi Experts,
We are implementing ESS / MSS. Most of the iViews of ESS are working fine. However, iView of Leave Request is not working.
1) Is it possible that during the portal installation due to some error, some of the components needed for Leave Request has not got installed properly.
2) If yes, can we take the dump / par / WD file of other SAP EP system and import it in my portal.
3) If no, what is the remedy for the solution.
Please suggest. I am getting following message while running application in web dynpro content administration :
An object with ID portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.lea/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.fpmapplications/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.LeaveRequest does not exist.

Cache issue coming in Start Process for Employee iView under MSS

Hi,
Navigate to MSS -> Team -> HCM Process and Forms -> Start Process for Employee
In Start Process for Employee iView, when I clicks on Refresh link at the bottom right of the table the Direct Reports got removed from the table (which is correct) but when I navigates to some other screen and comes back then again the previous data comes back. It seems to be cache level issue. Even I logs off and login the same data comes back which should not happen.
I have checked the forum [Team=>Personnel Developent=>Employee Search; and found it that Refesh property will work if I set the parameter of iview Cache Lifetime = -1 then it will disable the caching at all.
And I wants the same behaviour for Start Process for Employee iView. But I am not able to find the similar property in Start Process for Employee iView.
Anyone have an idea of What is the resolution for this issue?

now I understand your problem )
To me it sounds like an OADP cache issue rather than one in Portal. The iview uses OADP which again uses the cache which does not reflect on the actual current org-structure.
One possibility would be enhancing the WD4A and call FMs
HRWPC_OADP_DELETE_TGTOBJCACHE
HRWPC_OADP_DELETE_SRCHOBJCACHE
HRWPC_OADP_DELETE_NAVOBJCACHE
HRWPC_OADP_DELETE_DATAVWCACHE
dependent on what you want to delete to refresh.
I would probably try to enhance HookMethod WDDOINIT in Component Controller and call them there, but that's just a guess; could be complete nonesense.
Another possibility would be trying to add the application parameter "sap.xss.req.crt.cachelifetime=0" to the iView.

Hi,
the "connection" between iView and R3 System is done via the system definition. The ESS - iViews use a System alias SAP_R3_Human_Resources (and the other names I mentioned above).
If you have assigned this ESS role to a user the iView connects to the R3 system defined in the alias. If you chose single sign on the user id from the portal should be the same as in the R3. If it is different the easiest way would be to use usermapping.
The best way would be to assign this ESS role to your user and watch what is happening.

Error when previewing WD iView

Assigning users to employee to access ESS

Hi Friends
Please let me know why to assign user to employee for accessing ESS applications in portal.
What is the difference between user and Employee.

ESS i.e. employee self service is an application which comes as a Business package mySAP ERP and is precisely a set of iviews of Webdynpro application.
The main purpose of user being assigned to employee to to use the ESS appication, without which the Business package would be irrelavant.
For employees to be able to use the Employee Self-Service applications, they must be linked with a user. Each of the users has to be linked with a role. The role provides your employees with the system authorizations they require. The authorizations ensure that employees can execute the following functions:
1. Access the Employee Self-Service applications.
2. Display data
3. Maintain their own data
Each employee is linked to a user via the Communication infotype. i.e. 0105

When i am running retropay for 3711 employees one of them errors out and the retropay by element process ends as Incomplete.

you can delete the retro assignment action for the moment, so you can launch the run for all employees.
As such, you have some more time to debug the issue.
I would activate some payroll tracing, so you know which fast formula throws this error. And then you should dig further, so you can identify the sql retruning multiple rows.
Or you do a sql*trace. That one will also point you to the offensive sql.

I have already posted a detailed message for the XML iview problem sometime back but havent got any reply so far. All the replies had come from users who are also facing the same problem. I am trying to use a XML iview for fetching RSS feeds from one of the internet source, i have entered the proper URL and selected the proper RSS to XHTMLB transformer also and have entered the proxy settings in the http service and enabled it and restarted it also, but again when i am previewing the Iview its giving me the error <b>"Error while using XML Iview, please contact your system administrator."</b>. I am using

The XML iView uses server-side fetching, so if you are having problems with a regular URL iView in server-side fetching mode, so the problem with the XML iVIew probably has to do with the proxy settings.
And since you got a 407 error, it seems there is an issue with proxy settings or the proxy server, as mentioned in this description of 407 error:
The HTTP 407 code only applies to users who are accessing the Internet behind a proxy server. This is common in government and corporate workplaces. The 407 code indicates that your computer must first authenticate itself with your company's proxy server. Check with your IT department or computer support group as to the exact reason why you may be getting this error. It may be possible that the proxy server does not allow downloads of specific files (exe, cab, com). You can also verify that your proxy server settings are valid.
I will check if I can find out any more specific info.

Error while saving Employee Billrates through OAF page

I am facing the below mentioned error while saving Employee Bill rates for any project through OAF interface. I have tried saving the same through FORMS interface and its getting saved. The Unique constraint on the error log is on the table PA_EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDES and the column is EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDE_ID and we have a sequence for generating Unique id. The sequence used is PA_EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDES_S.
Please note that the error only fires on insertion of new record in the table PA_EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDES, on updation error doesn't fire.
The Constraint definition on the table is :

The sequence used is PA_EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDES_S.
Please note that the error only fires on insertion of new record in the table PA_EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDES, on updation error doesn't fire.
The Constraint definition on the table is :
create unique index PA.PA_EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDES_U2 on PA.PA_EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDES (EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDE_ID)
ERROR : java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00001: unique constraint (PA.PA_EMP_BILL_RATE_OVERRIDES_U2) violated

Error while configuring talent profile for ESS

Dear Experts
I am having following error while configuring talent profile for ESS:
The URL http://pplkhidr05.ppl.com.pk:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hrtmc_employee_profile was not called due to an error.
Note
The following error text was processed in the system TRG : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.

What can I do?
If the termination type was RABAX_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination in the system TRG in transaction ST22.
If the termination type was ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination on the application server PPLKHIDR05_TRG_00 in transaction SM21.
If the termination type was ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can search for more information in the trace file for the work process 0 in transaction ST11 on the application server PPLKHIDR05_TRG_00 . In some situations, you may also need to analyze the trace files of other work processes.
If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.
Any suggestions on how to resolve the error?

Publish to portal error when creating a iview

hi gurus,
I have done complete BI-EP integration. SSO is also working fine. But when i publish a query from query designer to portal, i am geting a error when creating a iview for the query as show below.
Error:
Java system error: call FM RSRD_X_MAP_TO_PRTL_USERS_PROXY to ProgId EPD_PORTAL_B07 on host epdev with SSO not authorized: Authentication failed.
when i manually create a BI Query iview,its working fine but to create a iview from publish to portal in query designer it is througing me error.

How to maintain Employee photo in ESS who's who without sap_all and sap_new

Hi ALL,
Displaying Employee photo in ESS Who's who. it is working but with SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW user profiles.
My requirment is without SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW user profiles. how it is working where can i maintain authorizations for this issue.
The parameter i used are as follows:
Business obj: PREL
Doc type: HRICOLFOTO
Personal num: 00000094
Infotype: 0002
Photo type: .JPG

P_HAP_DOC, if you work with Appraisal Document.
3. Check the table T77S0
P_PERNR, P_ORGIN, y P_ORGINGCON
4. Check that you have the roles need for ESS.

Employee photo in ESS

Hi,
We have resently implemented ESS in our organization.We want to show the employee photo in portal.I am able to do this at R3 end.In ifo type 0002 we have link the personal number with employee photo.
Can you ppl plz suggest that how can we do it in ESS also.

Thanks for the reply.I have checked the link given in your reply.That post actually dealt with the procedure of uploding the employee photo and displaying it in R3 through transaction PA20/PA30.
That part i have already done there is no issue with that we are able to see the employee photo in info type 0002.
Now we want to display the photo of employee in portal/ESS. Can u plz suggest abt it.
