Error initializing printer

When I try to save a document to .pdf, I get the error window: " Error Initializing Printer". In the "body" of the window is "Printer name is invalid." Never got this before. Has anybody else? What's the solution? I'm running Windows 7, 64 bits.

Fyi -- in Reports 6i a printer is no longer mandatory. eg if you're only doing web publishing, you don't need to setup a printer and give the Reports server access to it (of course, if you're trying to print from Reports - you need a printer! ;-).
To answer your question, make sure the USER that is running the Reports server as an NT service has access to a printer. If it's the SYSTEM account (goto Control Panel -> Services and double click on the Oracle Reports Server xxxxx entry (where xxxxx is the name of the server) and look at the user account that is running the server. If it's the SYSTEM account, it doesn't have access to a printer, so change it to a user (either local or domain user) that does have printer access.

Report Server: Error initializing printer

Oracle Report Server 6.0 for Windows NT doesn't work. When I try to call any report I get next error message:
Error message returned from Reports server:
REP-3002: Error initializing printer.
Please make sure a printer is installed.
The printer is installed on Windows NT server and is default. Where is the error? My URL example:

Batch PDF Reports raising error REP-3002: Error initializing printer.

We are running Reports 6.0 in Windows NT 4.0. When run manually the PDF reports are able to see the PostScript Print Driver and generates PDF output. We have a batch job on the NT that gets kicked off from the Mainframe via XPATH, which spawns multiple report processes as needed to run the PDF reports. We get the error "REP-3002: Error initializing printer." under this scenario.
Any help to resolve this will be appreciated.

i've changed to use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT as your advice and followed the instructions in "Oracle Reports Remote Printing Utility - An Oracle Technical White Paper December 2000". i tested orarrp by created the HTML file follow the steps in page 5 of the paper, it worked.
then i modified existed form, set report object property like this :
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE, BATCH);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_DESTYPE, FILE);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_DESFORMAT,'PDF');
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_DESNAME,'test.rrpa');
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_SERVER,'Rep60_NTSERVER2');
note : i'm not sure that i set the right value for REPORT_SERVER property, i got this value from TNSNAMES.ORA file.
then call the report with this statement :
:GLOBAL.ReportHandle := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(report_id);
it showed the same error message :

You showed a kernel panic file from OS X, apprantly Log Me In is installed into OS X or running when you log in.
You should be using the developers installer/unistaller to remove Log Me In from OS X.
Somehow it's in OS X, I don't know, but it's there and you need to remove it. I'm not dealing with Windows, just OS X.
Talk to Log Me In people and find out what is installed where so you can do a manual deletion out of OS X.
If that doesn't work, you have to reboot holding the Shift key down manually search for any Log Me In or Himachi files on your computer, in your System/Library/Extensions folder too, use the free Easy Find.

Message received "error initializing output device"

I receive a message "error initializing output device" even after downloading the driver from HP that HP recommended. I had this error when I first bought Windows 7 and ended taking it off line and putting my old one with Windows XP back on line. My old printer (a Dell printer) worked with it. I bought a new HP printer and was sure it would work with Windows 7, but it doesn't. How can I fix Windows 7 so I can get rid of this frustrating error and make the printer work?

Hey jack0501, I see you are having an issue of device being busy and will not respond to print commands. There are a few steps I would advise performing to see if this can be resolved. First, I would advise performing a Hard Reset to the printer, restart the PC, and power cycle the network if this printer is network connected. Follow these steps to reset your HP printer, your wireless router, and your computer.Press the Power button on the HP printer to turn it off.Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the HP printer.Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.Turn off the computer.Wait 30 seconds.Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready.Turn the computer back on.Wait for the computer to reload.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the HP printer.Turn the printer back on.**Subsitute unplugging the USB cable for power cycling the Router if it is USB connected. Second, I would advise restarting the Print Spooler service on your PC after everything is power cycled and logged back in. HP LASERJET CP1525nw print error when printing online Gmail emails with Google Chrome

HP LASERJET CP1525nw print error when printing online Gmail emails with Google Chrome. Extra large font sizes and weird formatting issues only when printing emails from Gmail within Chrome. No problems when printing the same email from Gmail+Internet Exolorer or Thunderbird. Using the IE Tab extension in Chrome prints the email correctly but the style of Gmail's message window is completely weird ie: formatting bar is spread out vertically instead of horizontally. I believe it is clear that this is an application specific issue between the HP LASERJET CP1525nw printer and Google Chrome + Gmail. This printing scenario does not occur when printing anything else or when printing via another printer. I would appreciate receiving any suggestions to solve this issue.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Browser: Google Chrome 15
HP Print driver: HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 v5.4.0

Error when printing reports from forms in Linux

Im having an error when printing a report from a form. The problem is, only with certain forms. when printing a report (to PDF) from other forms, it prints with no problems. The oracle is 10g AS and operating system is Redhat AS 3.

Hi ,
I have a request to create on ouput device which can copy the spool request to desired location in application server. Our server is not connected to any physical server and is windows NT.
I am tring to create ACCESS TYPE 'L' with host printer name '__default'.
I am using control set to copy file at desired location on server

File is being copied to desired location but its returing error message "Error during print request output. l_rc = 1"

"Print Error Whilst Printing" when trying to print or save as PDF

I don't understand why i can't just print - everytime it says Print error whilst printing whether i'm actually trying to save it or print it. I'm very new to using Macs - 3 days now so not used to how they work yet but i'm running Tiger 10.4.8 on an Intel Mac if anyone can help me please!

Save to PDF in TextEdit - Error While Printing

When I try to save a text file to PDF I receive the error message - "Error while printing". This only seems to be happening to text files I open or create in TextEdit. It works fine if I log in as a different user. I've run repair permissions and also deleted a couple of com.apple.print plist files in my user library, but the error remains.
Is there anything else I should try short of reinstalling TextEdit?

On OS X 10.8.2, with TextEdit, I can open or create text documents and export to PDF without any issue.
Here are the two preference tabs and settings that work for me. You can single click on the images for a larger version.
New Document
Open and Save
PDF documents on OS X are created with binary content, which is the junk you observe.

Hp 5535 will not scan, error message printer not found

I have a HP Envy 5535. I have only been able to scan one time with it. I scanned 22 documents, after running HP Scan Doc 4.4. Each time the HP Scan Doc states that everything is OK, yet as soon as I try to do even a test scan, I get the error message "Printer not found." I have also tried to run this scan with my McAfee virus firewall off, and it still doesn't work. I have also identified it on McAfee as part of my network.

I am sorry that you cannot scan with your HP Envy 5535, but I am happy to help!
For further assistance I will need to know:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, please try going through this scanning guide. A 'The computer is not responding' Error Message Displays During Scanning.
