Error list and class hierarchy unexpected refresh

I'm running LabVIEW 2013 Service Pack 1
There is an irritating issue that I am sure I have never come across before, in that the Error list, class hierarchy window, VI hierarchy window, and I am sure other UI elements are refreshing themselves every few seconds.
For example:
Open the class/VI hierarchy window and browse around. In a couple of seconds the pane will refresh its position to hte top left corner.
Ensure that the error window has enough errors and warnings (show warnings is reccommended!) that it shows a scrollbar. Scroll down and sellect/highlight an item (this happens naturally if you ctrl-L from a VI). Scroll up/down the list and in a couple of seconds the list focus will move back to the highlighted item.
This is really, REALLY irritating me with refactoring a large project. Has anyone else seen this, and is it fixable?

That's some pretty strange behaviour, just tried to test it on a machine with 2013 SP1 and another with just 2013; but this behaviour wasn't observed?
Aside from the standard steps like restarting LabVIEW, or turning your machine on/off; you could try do a repair operation on LabVIEW to correct this?
Hopefully someoneone else can pitch in who has experienced similar behaviour recently...

Yup. The source files are simply missing from the 4.5 source releases....I'm hitting the same issue when trying to rebuild the SDK with flexcover changes applied.

Display list and classes

I have a class called shapeC that only creates a rectangle and then addChild(rectangle);. That class is instantiated on the main timeline. Currently, the only way you can see that rectangle is to add the instantiated class to the stage via addChild(shapeC);. My question is, is there a way that the shapeC class can add the rectangle to the root stage without requireing the instantiated class to be added to the stage?

Yes, you can add directly to another stage, but my question would be "why"? There are times you want to delegate the logic of controlling what's on stage to another class and can be a responsibility of something commonly refered to as a "controller". There are times when you want a class to simply create something and return it, known as a "factory". What you're talking about is both of those things lumped into one. Unless you really have a reason to have a factory during its creation add it to stage, I'd suggest you do it exactly as you're doing now. Not to mention the only reference stored of your rectangle will be in your ShapeC class and/or on your main display list. That can be dangerous and cause all kinds of headaches. But if you really want to do it, you'd have to pass in a DisplayObjectContainer (i.e. Sprite or MovieClip) as an argument to the constructor (or other method depending on the code path of your class) of the shapeC class. Once it has created the rectangle add it to the passed in object's display list (passedInObject.addChild(rectangle)); So the code would look something like this.
//From main timeline
var shape:ShapeC = new ShapeC(this);
//ShapeC constructor
public function ShapeC(targetDisplayObject:DisplayObjectContainer)
     var rectangle:Sprite = new Sprite();
     rectangle.graphics.beginFill(0xFF0000);
     rectangle.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, 100, 100);
     targetDisplayObject.addChild(rectangle);
If I were to do something like this, I'd just make ShapeC a static factory class and do something like this:

ShapeC.createRect(this);
//in ShapeC class
public function createRect(targetDisplayObject:DisplayObjectContainer)
     blah blah blah same as above...
You might also want to pass in screen positions and what not as well. Hope it helps.

I read some of the questions and responses here and went to ~/Library/Safari and threw out the webpages.db file and emptied the trash and rebooted.
No luck; same problem.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. Building Tree hierarchy Using nested loops and class cl_gui_column_tree

I want to create a tree report using custom container and class cl_gui_column_tree. I have read and understood the standard demo report which SAP has provided i.e. SAPCOLUMN_TREE_CONTROL_DEMO. But in this report all the levels nodes are created as constants and hardcoded. I want to create hierarchy using nested loops. For this i took one example of a hierarchy of VBAK-VBELN->VBAP-POSNR Like One sales order has many line items and each line item can have number of line items in billing plan.

Now this program compiles fine and runs till there is only one level. That is root->vbeln. But when i add one more loop of it_posnr it gives me runtime error of message type 'X'. The problem i found was uniqueness of item-item_name as all the sales order have posnr = 0010. What could be done? I tried giving item_name unique hierarchy level using counters just like stufe field in prps eg. 10.10.10, 10.10.20,10.20.10,10.20.20,20.10.10 etc.. etc.. but still i am getting runtime error when i add one more hierarchy using nested loop. Plz guide.

Thanks the issue is solved. The node key was not getting a unique identification as nodekey. I resolved the issue by generating unique identification for each level. Thanks all,

My ipod touch is not list as a device on itunes. When I tried do update itunes, I get a ox8007054f error code and the update will not complete.

My ipod touch is not listed as a device when connected to my computer. As suggested I attempted to download the latest of itunes. I got an
ox8007054f error code and the down load will not complete. I have also tried to restore my computer to an earlier setting, but it will
not accept the change.

Hello,
When i try to open document library from SharePoint Production portal then it throws the specified error. However, when i open document library from SharePoint Development portal then it opens it in file explorer quite easily.
Production portal is on https whereas development portal is on http. Also, UAG has been configured on production portal.
Any idea where it's getting stuck up? Surely, this is not a browser issue on Windows 7 as it's opening the development portal's document library on the same machine.
I've also done following things:
- Configured Desktop Experience on production environment
- Installed the hotfix for Windows 7

While creating Projects Using the API, get two errors: 'Customer name must be passed' and 'class category is invalid'

While trying to Create Projects using the API, I'm getting two types of errors -
The first is : 'API failed in one stage 1 Customer Name is a mandatory Quick Entry field. Value must be passed'
The second is : '
'API failed in one stage 1 Project: '<Project_Number>'
The class category is invalid.'
Both the messages are produced by our custom program. .. however I am not able to understand why the underlying errors occur.
The first error ( Customer Name is a mandatory quick entry field), is caused by Projects that are to be created from Project templates where it is configured with Quick Entry Customer Name required. We are passing Customer Site number ( Party Bill to site number and Party Ship to side number). The site numbers being passed are also set as 'Primary'. Yet they are failing.
For the second Error ( The Class Category is invalid), I rechecked multiple times, the Class categories for the Projects I am trying to create, with the Config in R12 and they are fine. Can't understand the reason for these two issues. Has anyone encountered such an issue ? If so how was it resolved?

I resolved both the issues. In case there are others facing similar issues, following was the cause and resolution of my errors
1. Error 1: Customer Name is a Mandatory Quick Entry field. Value must be passed.
The cause was that the data loaded into our custom staging table was not in the right fields. This was because the data file values and the CTL were not in sync.
Resolution:
Corrected the data file to be in Sync with the structure defined in the CTL and this loaded it successfully
2. Error 2: The class category is invalid.
The cause of this error was that in the Projects Template (used to create the project from), the Quick Entry setup had a Class Category set as required and I was not passing a value ( a class code value) for that Class Category.

When restoring an iPhoto library I got an "unexpected error" message and the operation could not be completed. Is my best choice to try again?

One of my external hard drives died. I had several iPhoto libraries in it. Fortunately, I used Time Machine to backup to a Time Capsule and I can see all the iPhoto library icons in Backups.
When restoring the first iPhoto library, after three hours, I got an "unexpected error" message and the operation could not be completed. Indeed, the restored library is smaller than the library in Backups. Is my best choice to try again and replace the restored library (which apparently must be missing some photos)? It would mean another 3 hours plus of restoration with fingers crossed...
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

I am always suspicious of using a different OS to the one that was used to run the backup.. ie if you used Snow L to backup then there is absolutely nothing wrong with using SL to restore.
Mount the TC sparsebundle and verify it using disk utility.

You might also like to load the widget in Time Machine so you get whatever the full error message is..
I cannot find any reference to the error code you are getting..
My recommendation would be to try it on a different computer.. restore the whole backup to an external drive large enough to accept the whole backup.
