Error message is not displayed

Hi all,
I am working on Tomcat server and JSP. i have created a web page using JSP and html. when i click on submit button, it should display the next page. if any error is there, it should display the error on the webpage. But, it is not displaying any error message.
It just says :
The page cannot be displayed
There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.
Please try the following:
Open the localhost:8080 home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
Click the Refresh button, or try again later.
Click Search to look for information on the Internet.
You can also see a list of related sites.

i tried using one undeclared variable and try to navigate to next page, even then there was no error message like "variable not found".......it just gives the error message as above............
I am not able to makeout where i am going wrong, what is the problem.....
I am finding it very difficult to debug.

.....what is jsp url ?

when i click on submit button........
which means that in your first page, you have a form with an action attribute that points to a jsp - that's what i meant by submit jsp url.
and where can i find <tomcat_root>/log file ???Go to your TOMCAT installation directory, there would be a logs folder under that which in turn would contain your log files.

I have called a screen in one of the standard program using enhancmenets,
and i had put validations using chain and end chain, but the error message is not displayed immediately on the screen
but it is displaying as log , i want the error should come on the same screen and it should not allow till the correct values are entered , how to handle it

Hi,
have you tried option "LIKE" with instruction MESSAGE.
Example:MESSAGE ID '38' TYPE 'S' NUMBER 000 DISPLAY LIKE 'E' WITH 'My Message'.
And instead of using a MESSAGE instruction, why to not use a popup ?
Like using one of these function modules (for instance):
TMS_BCU_POPUP_TO_CONFIRM
POPUP_TO_CONFIRM_STEP
POPUP_TO_DECIDE
FC_POPUP_ERR_WARN_MESSAGE
etc...
If that does not work, perhaps it's your ehancement which is not the good one or perhaps you have use a second one.

Validation error message is not displayed for an attribute as an Input List Of Value

I use jdev 11.1.1.7.0
In my application I've created an Entity Obj and a View Obj base Employees table.
for the JobId attribute I've taken actions as listed below:
1. in Employees EO I've created a validation for this attribute and in some cases an error message returns (the error message is "the salary is not high"):
     * Validation method for JobId.
    public boolean validateJobId(String jobid) {

            return false;
        return true;
2. in Employees VO I've created a LOV for this attribute (the view accessor is JobsViewObj ) and I display the attribute as an Input Text with List Of Values.
in jspx page I drag& drop this attribute as below:

I open the Popup and I select a row from the Popup list and then I click Ok. After that if the validation method(validateJobId) returns false, the error message("the salary is not high") must be show to the user. but the error message doesn't display. I don't understand why this happens.
Can anybody guide me about this problem?

yes, you're right, I've tested it in 12.1.3 and error message was displayed.
it seems it's a bug(bad bug ) in both 11.1.1.7 and 12.1.2. and now what can I do? is there any way to display the the error message?

LSO_CHECK_BOOKING custom error messages are not displayed

Hi,
Good day! I am currently experiencing some problems displaying custom error messages from BADI LSO_CHECK_BOOKING. I have implemented this Badi and is appending error messages in CT_MESSAGE_TAB however when the message is displayed in portal, the custom message is not displayed. Instead, SAP displays a predefined error "Error When Creating Prebooking with the data entered..."
Is there a way for me to display my custom error message instead of the predefined SAP message?

You have not mentioned, which portal you are using. Please see below, that there are differences in the learning and the admin portal:
Learning Portal:
The framework of the existing design of the Learning Portal does not
allow customer specific error messages to be displayed in the portal.
Only a generic message will be displayed when prebooking in the learning
portal if the BADI LSO_CHECK_BOOKING returns an error. The design of the
application does not expect to raise an exception from the BADI. If the
BADI processing is assumed to be unsuccessful, the messages filled by
the BADI will be ignored and a general error message will be displayed
in the portal.
So this is basically a design limitation.
Administrator Portal:
Have you tried e.g. the following notes?
SAP Note 1806593 Admin Portal: Message is not displayed while prebooking
SAP Note 1575238 LSO: BADI LSO_CHECK_BOOKING does not show warning messages

when we click on error message (red icon) information will be displayed related to the error. but one of my user is getting blank page but when i tried with his id message is coming normally can u please suggest where the problem is ?

Is it Custom message or SAP Standard message? What's the message number?
If it's a custom message through any enhancement, check with ABAPer whether there be any authorizations maintained.

Error Message is not displayed by the API Move Order

Hi All,
Iam using the API "inv_move_order_pub.process_move_order" to create the move orders.
For few records the API is returning the return_status as "E" however the msg_count is returned as "0"
and there is no msg_data returned by the API for the records which are error out.
Kindly help me regarding this.

Can you please mention the type of move orders you are trying to create?
For the error records did you verify the validity of item, sub-inventories, locator_id etc?

Stop Transaction Error Message Doesn't Display

Hi,
I am using a custom message, like "Results Not Yet Confirmed", in the Stop Transaction action. But this error message is not displaying when I run the JavaScript code. I used the expression "document.<AppletName>.getValue(1,1)".
Any clues?

What display type are you using? An iGrid? If so, try
document.appletName.getErrorMessage()
Otherwise, please provide more details - the display type and which MII version you are using.

I have a lot of grief with this version of Windows Media Player.
It is very buggy and frustrating to use.
I have my Music library on a QNAP NAS, which is as reliable as they come.
System notifications make it not save changes. It also does not do a good job of interpreting albums and artists from folders. Changes to track names are not saved, nor are tracks moved to other albums, renamed albums, changes to genre, artist
or date. It separates and merges albums/tracks without sense or reason. Some changes I've made up to 4 times, then closed WMP and re-started my machine to check if it has/hasn't saved the changes. Often it has not.
This is the first time I've used WMP in this capacity, and I do not recommend it.
New service pack please.

Hp 5535 will not scan, error message printer not found

I have a HP Envy 5535. I have only been able to scan one time with it. I scanned 22 documents, after running HP Scan Doc 4.4. Each time the HP Scan Doc states that everything is OK, yet as soon as I try to do even a test scan, I get the error message "Printer not found." I have also tried to run this scan with my McAfee virus firewall off, and it still doesn't work. I have also identified it on McAfee as part of my network.

I am sorry that you cannot scan with your HP Envy 5535, but I am happy to help!
For further assistance I will need to know:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, please try going through this scanning guide. A 'The computer is not responding' Error Message Displays During Scanning.

Itunes displays a message saying "there is no SIM installed in the phone you're trying to activate" even if there is the same SIM that was working minutes before.
The SIM works on a different phone I tested it.

“Could Not Activate EDGE” error message Update ...
Well it’s going on day 6 and still sporadic to no EDGE on my iPhone. At one time, it was thought to be a defective iPhone – since my partner’s iPhone works just fine.
After over three hours on the land line with AT&T and Apple, I was sent to the local Apple store for a replacement. Of course, as soon as I walked into the Apple store my iPhone worked just fine. ;-( The local store replaced my iPhone and suggested I go home and activate the phone as a NEW iPhone, that way if there was a bug in my data it would not carry over to the new phone. Did that and well… still sporadic to no EDGE. By the way, I have the Big White “E” to the right of the 5 bars and AT&T .
AT&T said last week they has “Software” issues in my area, but the CSR I talked to did not know what the issues were or if they were the cause of my problems. He did say they would call me back today to see how my iPhone was doing, but alas, no call back.
When I’m next to my partner, trying to access the same feature, his iPhone is just so fast. Mine hangs up, draws out and finally I get the error message, “Could Not Activate EDGE”. I am updated to version “1.1.4(4A102)”. New (refurbished) iPhone direct from Apple.
I remember reading a while back about some problems others had when they upgraded to from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4. I never had those problems, but it sure looks like they may have started. Does anyone remember what the problems with 1.1.4 were, what was done if anything to correct them, and best of all any suggestions?
By the way, this is Seattle, not some small – out of the way place where connection and signal strength is expected to be second rate. Also, I had full function of my iPhone from the day I bought it in June 2007, all the way up to Thursday March 20, at 2120.

Error message"Could not complete the Save command......

Sometimes when I open Photoshop CS6 (cloud version) and I try to save my work I wil get an error message: "Could not complete the save command because the document is currently being saved in the background. Please try the operation again after the Save Command has finished" Well the background save never finishes and I end up having to restart Photoshop and lose all my work. Any ideas. I am running Windows 7, core i& quad procewssor and 12 gigs of ram.

Warning messages are not displayed in confirmation

We are working with SRM 5.0 classic scenario. Our issue is warning messages are not displayed whenever we press the CONFIRM or DELETE button in the confirmation, however warning messages are displayed if we press CHECK button in the confirmation.
Please suggest the solution to display the warning messages while clicking CONFIRM or DELETE button in the confirmation.

Thanks for your reply. We raised the OSS message for this issue. As per the standard system behaviour, warning messages will not be diplayed when " DLETETE" button pressed.
In the DELETE mode, the system will display only the first EXPRESS
ERROR message and not WARNING messages.
Inorder to maintain an error message as EXPRESS, the FIELD_NAME
(i.e ls_message-field_name) has to be assigned with the value
EXPRESS.
For example,
ls_message-msgty = 'E'.
ls_message-msgid = 'ZF'.
ls_message-msgno = '000'.
ls_message-field_name = 'EXPRESS'
Kindly note that in the DELETE mode, the system does not display
EXPRESS message with msgty = 'W'.
Only EXPRESS message with msgty = 'E' is recognised and displayed.
The Warning messages will be displayed only during the CHECK mode.
